This Is Halloween
Arcee was sitting in Jack's garage waiting for him to come out. For some reason she was paranoid today, thinking she kept seeing shadows in the moonlit floor of the garage.
"Jack, we have to be at the base in five minutes! What's taking you so long?"
She sighed. Jack wasn't answering his cell phone, but she just thought yelling would help, which it didn't. She noticed headlights dancing on the wall in front of her, and adjusted her mirror to see June pulling in the driveway, having gotten back from her shift. She got out of the car, eyeing the motorcycle still in her garage.
"Arcee, I thought you and Jack would've left by now," she said, surprised.
"So did I," Arcee muttered, turning her front tire to June, who frowned in thought, before walking to the door.
"Let me check on-ahh!"
The door had suddenly opened and someone had grabbed her.
"June!" Arcee cried, transforming and aiming her blaster at the unknown person, who was hidden in the shadows.
"Let her go!" she demanded, her blaster priming. The person moved out of the shadows so only their smile could be seen in the moonlight. They had a closed smile, and stitches were on the mouth, their face was white, and so were their hands, she noticed.
"Let her go, or I shoot," Arcee threatened, worried for June. Luckily the figure let go.
"Aw, you wouldn't hurt me, Arcee. I'm your junior partner, remember? Not your junior enemy."
Arcee transformed her blaster back into her servo, dumbfounded.
"Jack?" she asked in disbelief.
"Yep. I was playing you, I wouldn't harm mom, you know that," Jack replied, making June smile.
"I didn't know it was you, though! I really thought June was being attacked!" Arcee exclaimed.
"I would've done more than just stand there and squirm if I didn't know Jack's plan," June interjected. Arcee sighed, turning back over to Jack.
"Come out of the shadows," she urged, and he obeyed, stepping into the moonlight. What stood before her wasn't Jack at all. It was an empty-eyed, tuxedo-cladded, tall figure.
"What in the AllSpark? Jack...you're...a skeleton!" Arcee exclaimed.
"Jack Skellington, to be exact," Jack smiled.
"But...you...what happened to your...hair? Your skin? Your eyes?"
"Cut it, skinned myself, scooped my eyes out," he shrugged, a small smile on his pale face.
"Jack!" his mom scolded. Jack laughed.
"No, it's a combination of a mask and face paint, and the tux is from a costume store," he shrugged. "Can we go now? I thought we had to be at the base in five minutes...five minutes ago."
Arcee gave him a look before transforming. He got on, and she took off, leaving June to her own devices.
"Watch for trick-or-treaters," Jack warned, eyeing the road filled with people.
"Trick-or-what?" Arcee asked, this saying being new to her.
"Trick-or-treaters. It's Halloween, a night where humans will dress up as somebody else and go door-to-door to get candy. It's called trick-or-treating," Jack explained.
"I will never understand your human customs," Arcee muttered causing Jack to laugh.
"So...who's Jack Skellington?" Arcee asked, curiosity getting the better of her.
"He's a character from the movie The Nightmare Before Christmas. The only problem with that movie is that I never know when to watch it, Halloween or Christmas, so I just do it on both," Jack shrugged. "Jack Skellington is The Pumpkin King, but I guess he's the King of Halloween, too. I'm not entirely sure. He acts like it. Anyway, I brought the movie; I was thinking we could watch it, that is, if everyone else is at the base," Jack replied, holding up said movie.
Arcee turned onto the road leading to the base, thinking over Halloween and deciding it was a thing she wouldn't get used to, but it was interesting nonetheless. Arcee was thinking of it as the two entered, and she almost didn't notice Jack dismount and another person running up to him. She too was wearing a costume. Her skin was pale blue, and she had stitches all over her body. Her dress was mismatched pieces of fabric, and her hair was down and it was a brownish-red. It was Miko. Though the girl was hardly recognizable by looks, her personality was still the same.
"Hiya Jack...Skellington!" she greeted excitedly.
"I thought you were being a witch for Halloween?" Jack asked.
"I was...but I decided to be Sally last-minute," she shrugged. "I didn't think you would dress up as The Pumpkin King. That's kind of awkward, considering what happens in the end..."
Jack nodded. "We'll make the best of it, I guess."
Miko leaned over to whisper something to him.
"I gave Bulkhead quite a scare with my costume, you know. He really does scream like a little girl."
"Arcee held me at blaster point," Jack smiled.
"Only because you looked like you were going to harm your mother," Arcee interjected. Jack scoffed, before seeing Raf run up to them.
"Hey, guys!" he greeted, his fanged teeth showing, and his black and red cape flapping behind him. "I want to show you something, come on," Raf said hurriedly, gesturing for them to follow him. They did, and Arcee finally transformed, noticing how different the base was, too. It was decked out in red and black and purple and orange streamers everywhere. She looked over at Bulkhead and Bumblebee, who were also decorated with streamers. She took a guess and figured it was Miko's doing.
"So...did you two hold your charges at blaster point, or was I the only one?" Arcee asked, trying to make conversation.

Raf took Miko and Jack down a hallway, one anyone rarely used. At the end of it were dozens of metal objects.
"Raf...are those...scraplets?" Miko asked, turning to him. Raf flashed her a fanged smile.
"Don't worry, I built them. They're actually robots, not Cybertronian. I plan to release them tonight. Don't worry, they won't actually hurt the Autobots, I made sure of that. Here, take a controller and start them up. Send them into the main room, I'm sure the 'bots will love it," Raf said as he handed the two a controller. He pressed a button on his, and the scraplets came alive, whirring and running down the hall.
"I couldn't get them to fly, so they run," Raf shrugged as they turned a corner. Miko and Jack controlled their dozen of scraplets, making them follow after Raf's, and they followed the scraplets so they could navigate.
A loud crash sounded in the main room, followed by a loud "Scrap!" Which was followed by blaster fire.
The kids were trying to hold back their laughter as they urged what scraplets they had left, before Optimus appeared behind them, and noticed they were watching the scraplet infestation, but their expressions were...amused. They turned to look at him, and Raf gave him a sheepish smile as Miko put a finger to her lips.
"Shh. It's a prank, the Scraplets are completely harmless."
Optimus nodded; a faint smile on his face. He gently put a digit on Jack's controller, and when the humans peered around the corner to see what was going on, they noticed Optimus had made Jack's scraplets focus on Bumblebee. They looked back at Optimus, mouths open. Optimus only smiled. It was rare for the Prime to show expression, and rarer for him to participate in a prank. He put a digit to his lip-plates.
"I was never here," he said quietly. They nodded, and he walked away.
After the 'bots-including Optimus, to not raise suspicion-had destroyed every last Scraplet, the humans came out, doubling over in laughter, having kept it in for so long.
"You guys should've seen your faces!" Miko cried, tears pouring down her face.
"You mean you-" Ratchet stopped, too angry to form words. Raf walked over to a broken scraplet and showed it to them, showing machinery inside.
"See? Entirely manufactured, not Cybertronian," Raf said to them. Bumblebee made a few angry beeps, putting his servos on his hips.
"No, Bee, I didn't send that group of scraplets at you," Raf smiled.
"I did," Jack spoke up, earning a few more angry beeps from the scout. Jack smiled, exchanging a glance with Optimus.
"Movie time!" Miko cried suddenly, preventing any of the Autobots to guess what the glance between Jack and the Prime was about.
"Yeah, Jack said he had a movie we could watch," Raf nodded. Jack smiled.
"And it's about Halloween and Christmas," Jack added.
"You mean you actually brought that movie?" Miko asked, her blue skin turning red from blushing. Jack laughed, walking over to the TV and sticking the disc in the player. The movie started, and even the Autobots were interested enough to watch, hoping they would understand Halloween a bit more. Jack and Miko sat on opposite ends of the couch the entire movie and didn't look at each other when the characters they were dressed as were having one of their 'moments'.
Miko actually gagged at the end of the movie, breaking the tension between them and causing the three humans and most of the 'bots to laugh.
"Oh, by the way, Jack, you really need to stop stealing people's holidays," Raf muttered, causing Jack to laugh again.
"And seriously, your holidays come from trees?" Arcee asked.
"The guy didn't even calculate his math correctly. And he kept saying the one guy's name wrong," Ratchet muttered. "There are so many things wrong with this movie."
Optimus shook his helm, before seeing two figures approach the humans. He stopped them with his servo, before seeing that they were Agent Fowler and June Darby, dressed as a zombie and psycho surgeon.
"This day just keeps getting weirder and weirder," Ratchet muttered, noticing what was going on.
"Of course! This is Halloween! Pumpkins scream in the dead of night!" Miko said cheerfully, not fazed at all by the zombie/surgeon duo.
"Hey, we gotta get you guys in the spirit, too!" Miko suddenly said, turning to the Autobots.
"Let's not, and say we did," Arcee replied.
"You're no fun," Miko pouted.
::This is Halloween, this is Halloween, everybody make a scene,:: Bumblebee warbled.
"Trick or treat 'till the neighbors gonna die of fright," Bulkhead joined in.
"It's our town, everybody scream, in this town of Halloween," June sang.
"Oh, no...what have I done," Jack muttered.
Miko punched him playfully on the shoulder. "You're the Pumpkin King. You started Halloween, that's what you've done."
"Our man Jack is King of the Pumpkin patch, everyone hail to the Pumpkin King now," Raf, Fowler, June, Miko, and Arcee sang. Jack rubbed the back of his head.
"C'mon, guys...it's just a costume."
~~~
This chapter jumped around a lot. XD
First to Arcee picking up Jack, then scraplets, then movies, June and Fowler, and singing. Huh. Ideas just kept coming to me, and I wanted to use them. Hope you enjoyed the Halloween one-shots within the one-shot. XD
I would be very surprised if you didn't know what The Nightmare Before Christmas was.
I originally wanted Jack to be a vampire, but then I watched Nightmare Before Christmas and changed my mind. Besides, they both have the same first name. :3
I was seriously thinking of having Miko be a witch, but then I'm like, "Why not?" and made her Sally. And then I wanted Raf to be the vampire. XD
And Jack doesn't seem to like attention. :)
The video is the Marilyn Manson version of This is Halloween (I LOVE it) with TFP clips. The maker of the video really likes inverted colors and stuffs, just a heads up. :)
HAPPY HALLOWEEN, GUYS! (For those of you who celebrate it/know what it is)
