In Comes The Storm (Bee&Smokey-Fluff)

This takes place in Transformers Prime. This is before the Autobots lose their base and a little after they meet Smokescreen. I don't know why but I have really been wanting to write something like this. I know I write a lot about Bumblebee, but I enjoy it the most. Requests are still open as I am starting anew. So, feel free to request by commenting on this chapter. Enjoy and vote. I want to get my account active again and I have missed a lot of you. Thank you!

One-Shot: Smokescreen and Bumblebee go on patrol only to have a run in with the cons in a thunderstorm. Things get ugly.

Warning: Tooth rotting fluff. Violence.

:.:Comm Talk:.:

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Lightning crackled through the dark clouds over Jasper, Nevada. Even though the weather was rough, that didn't mean patrol was overlooked. Bumblebee and Smokescreen were watching Miko and Raf play video games. Jack was talking with Optimus, Rathet, and Arcee by the main computer system. Decepticons were being overly active through the week, and precautions were becoming much more needed. Bulkhead and WheelJack were grunting as they both lobbed and caught the large lob ball. Metal on metal was heard echoing through the base from the rec room they occupied.

Optimus turned towards the two youngest members of Team Prime. "Bumblebee, Smokescreen, I am sorry to disturb your time with Miko and Raf, but it is time to take your shifts for patrol." Smokescreen sighed with Bumblebee who let out a low whirr.

Smokescreen nudged Bumblebee, "maybe we will get a fresh wash from the rain." Bumblebee groaned as he heard thunder. He hated the storms in Jasper. The wind was ridiculous in the open desert. And it wasn't as warm as you would think. Smokescreen smiled slightly at his friend, "don't worry, Bee. It is just an hour." Bumblebee nodded to Smokescreen before transforming, Smokescreen following suite.

"Be careful you two, and be back on time. The kids will need to be escorted home afterwards," Ratchet called to them as they revved out of the base. Smokescreen raced Bumblebee through the open roads before they reached town limits. At the first stop-light, the two split up in different directions.

Bumblebee took his usual route through the backstreets and alleys of the small town their human friends occupied. The youngest bot of Team Prime did a lap around Raf's home. It was almost a ritual for him to do so anytime he got to town. It was important to him. This one little thing eased the scout's thought processors.

Smokescreen hummed slightly to himself as he listened to his music through his cab. He secretly loved patroling. Smokescreen didn't get to see much of Earth yet, so every patrol was great to him. However, he loved the different weather. As loud as the storm was, he enjoyed it. Though, he understood why his yellow bot buddy didn't. He could see it in the bright-silver faceplates as the thunder rumbled through base. It reminded the slightly younger camaro of a war he and his race had been drug into. Smokescreen didn't know what all the team had gone through, but he knew it was not something he wanted to ask about. Each one entailed a rough story, and that scared Smokescreen that he hadn't experienced much of the war just yet. The rookie's thoughts were interrupted as a flash of light broke through the sky. A loud rumble following it close behind.

:.:Anything looking out of place on your side of town Bee?:.: Smokescreen wanted to check on the scout after that one.

:.:Not a thing. Seems like a good thing but I don't like it:.: Smokey noticed that Bumblebee's voice wasn't wavering. The young bot was fine. The rookie knew he was tough. He smiled to himself as he felt the rain pound harder onto his car form. He loved the feeling. It was cold and the wind was picking up a little, but he enjoyed it nontheless.

:.:I don't either. I'm going to head farther up town then circle back and we can meet back up at the front of town:.:

:.:I'm taking the freeway. Meet you back at the front of town, Smokes:.: The blue bot smiled to himself as he shut the comm link interaction. He would contact him again before meeting back up to check on the camaro.

Bumblebee whirred a groan to himself as the rain picked up once more as he entered the freeway. Even though the bot knew that human's were not the cars, he thought they should be able to drive a little bit better in this weather. Another lightning strike clashed with clouds through the sky. The yellow Autobot shifted slightly in his lane as the thunder practically shook the ground. Maybe he could relate to some of the humans not being able to drive in this weather. Maybe some of them felt the same as he did about the loud noises. The kids had told Team Prime of their very own wars on Earth and how it affected many lives and places. It filled Bumblebee with small hope that his own planet could get over their way and find peace among each other, even if it wasn't perfect. He just wanted to go home. A home he didn't get much time to spend at.

Though he had let his thought processors wander off, he felt as though something was wrong in his spark. Bumblebee moved his rear view mirror to see two pairs of headlights following close behind him. He noticed the Decepticon emblems. Bumblebee opened his comm link with Smokescreen once more as the twins split up two each side of him. They were closing in on him. The young bot slammed on his breaks as the twin vehicons slammed into each other. They fishtailed on the slick pavement. Bumblebee saw this as his getaway and sped up. His engine rumbling with the thunder that engulfed the small town of Jasper.

:.:Smokescreen, I've got two on me. I am heading out of town:.:

:.:Should we send for back-up?:.:

:.:Not just yet:.:

Bumblebee raced the two Decepticons through the town, managing to bypass any police that may have caused him even more trouble. Getting another speeding ticket would probably make Ratchet more mad than encountering two Decepticons. Bee finally made it to the deserted outskirts of the small town as he passed a sign that read 'Road May Flood'. The yellow sports car frowned to himself at the sign. Surely it wouldn't flood just yet. He was wrong. The rubber of his wheels was met with only water rather than pavement. The Autobot transformed as he pushed himself off of the solid ground to land on his peds and face the two Decepticons that transformed before meeting the water.

"Surrender, Autobot!" Bumblebee lowered his doorwings as he put himself in a fighting stance, blasters pointed towards the two purple bots planted in front of him. Rain pounded on the three bots. The sounds of the falling water droplets clashing into metal filling the tension.

"What do you want cons," Bumblebee beeped to his counterparts. Lightning crackled through the sky. The sudden burst of light reflecting off of the metal mechanisms that stood in front of each other.

One vehicon powered up his weapon, "where is the location of your base, Autobot?"

"Choke on a corroded bolt," the yellow bot spit back as he glared. Where was Smokescreen?

The two Decepticons wasted no time in shooting off multiple red blasts towards the outnumbered bot. Bumblebee easily dodged each shot as he replied with his own. A singular blue streak hit one of the cons in the chestplates. He was knocked off his own peds, yet the other stood tall as he continued to shoot at the scout. Bumblebee took his chances and took a run towards the Decepticon. He reached the other in time to take a swift kick to it's faceplates. However, the other had gotten up and took a shot towards the scout. Bumblebee felt as his chassis erupted in pain. He hit the muddy ground and whirred out a groan as he pushed himself up to his knees and servos. The young Autobot looked to see a charred mark on his chassis. He heard as the ped steps were growing closer. Bumblebee watched as rain bounced off his metal frame. A swift kick knocked the younger bot over to his backstruts. His door wings slicing through the mud on the side of the road. Rain droplets pounded on his new wound and covered his optics. The two Vehicons leaned over the scout, blasters head steadily at his helm. Bumblebee glared into them.

"Y-You won't survive if you offline me. My team will find you," the camaro warned. One chuckled lightly. It managed to get even darker, so Bumblebee looked up to see the nemesis. A transportation tunnel already meeting the ground. Megatron and Knockout were placed onto the Earth's ground. Bumblebee felt his spark rate grow faster. The two Vehicons stepped back as Megatron moved forward, Knockout smirking at his side. Bumblebee rolled to his knees and servos once more as he tried to get up only for Megatron to aim his weapon at his helm. The heat from the cannon gracing the scout's faceplates. The rain that had soaked the young scout's form began to turn into steam as the heat from the glowing cannon continued to stare into the optics of the young mech.

"If I had known what a problem you would be in my future scout, I would have finished you off rather than taking just your voice box," the warlord growled. Thunder grumbled, practically taunting Bumblebee. His spark sped up as he heard the cannon power up. Bee glared as he pushed up in one swift motion, barely missing the blast that struck the ground where he once laid. Bumblebee managed to flip himself backwards, blasters aimed at the two mech's in front of him. Just then, he heard tires squealing. His optics spun quickly in their sockets. Smokescreen.

:.:Smokescreen! Call for back up! Megatr-:.: Bumblebee was warning Smokescreen before Megatron took a swipe at him with the jagged sword. Bumblebee managed to duck and land a punch onto the warlord's chassis. However, Knockout stuck the camaro in the side with the electric pole. Bumblebee felt as white hot pain coursed through his circutry. A loud, strangled beep was forced through his makeshift voice box.

"Step the frag back!" Blasters were heard whizzing past Bumblebee. The yellow bot felt the electricity current leave his circuits. He collapsed to the ground. His attatchments twitched as it continued to course through him. The rain drops sizzling against his fried form. Smokescreen was heard faintly to the bot.

Smokescreen's vents were working overtime as he stood his ground in front of the camaro that laid, twitching on the ground. Thunder clapped once more as there was once again a stand-off. Megatron pointed his cannon to the rookie. "Tell me young one, where is Optimus Prime?" The snear the larger bot gave Smokescreen only made the younger's spark skip a beat. Water continued to fall hard in the stand-off.

Bumblebee held his chassis as he stood behind his friend. Bumblebee raised a blaster at Megatron. Knockout was practically growling, he noticed a charred mark on the red bot's shoulder. Must have been Smokescreen's doing.

"I would lay down my life before I told you anything," Smokescreen glared darkly to the four Decepticons standing before him and his outnumbered friend. Megatron's pointed-tooth grin spread wider across his faceplate.

"Be careful what you wish for, young one. In case you did not take the time to notice, it never ends well when you don't give me the valuable intel I desire," Megatron gestured towards the scout that stood to the rookie's side. Smokescreen heard Bumblebee's vents pick up.

Megatron roared as he charged forward, sword aiming straight for Smokescreen. Knockout lunged towards the scout as the Vehicons stood their ground and blasted at the two Autobots. The sound of clashing metals bounced off the rain droplets. Water splattered as Megatron swung his sword at Smokescreen who barely managed to dodge the oncoming attack. Bumblebee flung Knockout into the warlord, buying Smokescreen time to reach the scout.

"Please tell me back up is on it's way," Bumblebee pleaded as he allowed Smokescreen to carry some of his weight as Knockout pushed off the warlord, complaing about his paint job. The Decepticon leader flung the red bot off of him in a rage.

"It should have been here already," Smokescreen complained. A blast took Smokescreen to the ground. Bumblebee landed on top of him as a result, but scrambled up to return with multiple blasts. Megatron shot another time only for Bumblebee to dodge it. The scout transformed and drove towards Megatron only to transform in time to smash a ped to his faceplate. His doorwings bounced at the force of his own form hitting the ground. Bumblebee rolled off the ground and managed to smash a Vehicons faceplate in. Smokescreen was a blue blurr as he also took out a Vehicon. Though, their sudden adrenaline was a small burst of victory.

"Smokescreen!" Bumblebee shouted over his semi-functional vocalizer. The rookie gasped as his fist was caught mid swing to finish off the barely online Vehicon. Though the purple bot still hit the dirt, mud sloshing onto the Autobot's peds. Megatron twisted the mech's wrist swiftly, a sickening sound coming from the appendage. Smokescreen screamed out, but the sound was burried with a clash of thunder and lightning. The muddy scout threw his vehicon towards an advancing Knockout. Bumblebee shot at the warlord multiple times until it took a toll on the larger mech. Smokescreen cried out again as his wrist was twisted back before he was thrown onto the pavement of road into the puddle Bumblebee had hydroplaned in. Smokescreen groaned as he cradled his wrist to his chestplates, rain water sloshing at his motions.

"So, bug. We meet like this yet again. Maybe you should stop witholding so much important information. It tends to only bring you harm," scowled the larger, silver mech. The shorter bot said nothing as he threw a punch to the Decepticon. Megatron dodged and grabbed the bots arm. Megatron met the wide, blue optics as he threw a ped to the scout's unprotected knee cap. The knee struts caved to the side, a loud snapping noise sounded much too alike with the lightining strike that danced around the optics' of the machines. Bumblebee's shrill beeps were the first thing to meet his team's audio sensors. Megatron shoved the scout to the ground, disregarding him as he met Optimus' blue optics through the pounding rain.

"Well, if it isn't Optimus Prime himself. Too bad, I enjoyed my time with the younglings here," Megatron sneered. Smokescreen groaned as Arcee laid a servo on his shoulder plate. Optimus shifted his attention to his injured scout that was beginning to aim his blasters at the warlord yet again.

"Megatron, stand down. I do not wish to do this here," Optimus warned. Bulkhead smashing his weapon into his open palm as a threat. The warlord glanced towards Knockout who finished off the mindless Vehicon that landed on him. Knockout was in no shape to take on Team Prime. And with Megatron's other reruits on their own mission, it would seem as though it would have to wait.

"Very well, but do not count this as a victory. I will return," Megatron allowed to be bridged back up with Knockout. Arcee shot at the two the entire way up. The nemesis retreating quickly.

"I was expecting to at least bash one con up," Bulkhead grumbled. Arcee rolled her optics at her larger friend.

Smokescreen grunted as Arceee helped him up. Bulkhead made his way to Bumblebee who allowed the larger mech to wrap an arm around his waist. "Ratchet, ready the medbay." A bridge appeared. Optimus allowed his team members to enter the ground bridge before he did. As soon as he entered base, the ground bridge closed behind him.

The base had small puddles leading to the med bay. Machines already beeping. Optimus stopped as he saw a larger puddle where someone had taken a tumble. Energon was swirled within the larger puddle. The two substances swirled together looked almost foregin to the Prime. It was unfamiliar. The two substances were never supposed to meet. Yet they did. Bumblebee's pained beeps erupted through base as Bulkhead held the younger bot down. Smokescreen sat on a disregarded energon crate against the other side of the med bay. Arcee was attatching wires back together in his servo, prepping him for Ratchet. WheelJack held down Bumblebee's uninjured leg. Ratchet was setting the injured knee cap back into place so he could begin working on it. But with them being on Earth, there was not much to give the young bot for the pain. They all knew that, even Bumblebee. The scout gave one more squealing beep before he collapsed back into the berth. Optimus winced slightly at the scene. Smokescreen gritted his denta together as he watched his new best friend's vents take in air wildly. Raf was covering his ears as Jack side hugged the boy. The noises coming from Bumblebee was painful to their ears. Miko frowned at the sight of her guardian holding down Raf's guardian.

"Will someone explain to me what happened," Ratchet grumbled. He didn't want to only hear the pained venting of his youngest patient.

Smokescreen leaned back against the wall completely as Arcee finished her part. The rest Ratchet would have to tend to. The rookie continued to drip fresh rain onto the ground as he began to explain. "We split up in town. Bumblebee took the free way only for two cons to jump him. I was supposed to meet him outside of town. He commed me about them, but when I got there it was Megatron, Knockout, and two other cons. That's when I called for backup. Megatron got the better of us."

"I'll tear that fragger limb from limb," WheelJack growled. Bulkhead egging it on as the two wreckers stood out of the way of the medical bot. Optimus sighed as he took in the scene before him.

"I am sure you will get the chance, old friends. Megatron will not stop. I am very sorry for my ignorance. Patrols will be kept to a minimal. We wait for them now. We cannot gain any more injuries," the Autobot leader spoke up. WheelJack frowned but nodded in understanding.

"No offense, Optimus, but I don't think waiting on the cons to wreck havoc is the best move," Arcee intervened.

The Prime nodded at the only femme of the team, "I understand your worries, Arcee. We will not allow them to continue their reign of terror. I would just prefer our team to be at it's highest capabilities. For now, our younglings need to heal." Optimus had stepped closer to the med bay. He set a servo on Smokescreen's shoulder plate.

"We're sorry, Optimus. We didn't mean for this to happen," sighed Smokescreen. The younger blue bot averted his optics from the towering mech.

"No, Smokescreen. I am sorry for my foolishness. You and Bumblebee suffered grave injuries due to my lack of leadership. Heal, both of you," Optimus patted Bumblebee's chassis on his good side. The scout held up a thumbs up to this leader. Optimus smiled grimly as he retreated to the main computer system to keep a watchful eye over the radar.

Bumblebee gasped a vroo to Ratchet as the medic finished his knee cap. "You are all right, Bumblebee. Now let me take a look at your chassis," Ratchet soothed the younger bot. Bulkhead smiled slightly at the older bot's softness. WheelJack crossed his arms at the scene.

"Don't tell me the docbot has gone soft after all these years," the older wrecker teased. Ratchet threw a miscellaneous wrench in the sword-wielding mech's direction. The wrecker dodged it with playful chuckle. Ratchet felt his faceplates heating up. However, Bumblebee gave the medic a slight smile under his hidden mouthplates. Ratchet glared a warning to Bumblebee who made the motion of crossing his spark.

After Bumblebee was finished, he demanded to stay in the medbay with Smokescreen until he was done. Ratchet muttered in response but allowed the young scout to stay as Smokescreen took his turn on the wet surface of a berth. WheelJack allowed the scout to put his weight on him to take a seat where his best friend was originally.

"I'm glad you are okay, Bee," Raf spoke up as he touched the uninjured ped of his guardian. Bumblebee buzzed at his young human friend.

After a while, Bulkhead quickly took the three humans to their designated homes before returning to base. Bumblebee and Smokescreen remained in the med bay. Each bot occupying a berth. Everyone had gone into stasis except the two younglings who were still going through the events. Bumblebee had fell when he entered base. WheelJack and Bulkhead lifting him off the ground quickly so Ratchet could attend to the yellow mech who squealed through his broken vocal cords as his knee continued to be jostled. Energon was leaking freely through the wound.

"Bee?" Smokescreen finally spoke up through the silence. The only noises being the ones of the machines they were hooked up to and the soft padding of the rain that bounced off the top of the base.

"Hey, Smokes," Bee replied. The two met optics.

"I'm sorry you had to go through that today. I know the storm was enough, but to even have to fight him...I'm sorry," Smokey confessed. Bumblebee shook his head at the rookie.

"Smokey, I've faced him many times. Even after my voice box. It's okay. I-I just lose my focus sometimes and can't help but get those flashbacks. I was more worried about putting you in that position. I know you don't have much experience in the battle field. I want to keep it that way," Bumblebee admitted.

"Why? I'm not a child, Bee," Smokey defended himself. Bumblebee averted his optics before meeting Smokescreen's once more.

"We are Smokescreen. But that isn't why. I of all bots know how it feels to be called small, young, kid. It's not that. I just...a small part of me wishes I would have parished with my voice box. Reliving it haunts me every day. At least once. The war may be taking my youth, but he took my voice. The one thing I valued more than anything. If we're writing history somehwere, all they are gonna have me saying is beep."

Smokescreen let out a slight laugh at the dramatic thought, "you already made history, Bee. I knew about Tyger Pax. My unit knew. You and your team allowed the allspark to leave our planet. You saved us," Smokescreen claimed. Bumblebee shook his helm at his best friend.

"Hardly, Smokes."

Smokescreen reached out a servo to Bumblebee. The yellow bot looked at the servo then back to his friend's optics. "We'll go home one day, Bee. I promise."

Bumblebee reached out his servo to Smokescreen's uninjured one and took it tightly in his grasp, "I am going to hold you to that."
