Jason moves a little forward so he sits a bit more between me and Nathan. Nathan hasn't looked away from me since I got here.

"Calm down Nathan. She has done nothing wrong, on the contrary, she has done only good so far. Because of her, Jason is starting to be his old self again. He is smiling and happier than usual. And my sister finally has a girlfriend, some she can talk to about girl stuff." Jake tries to calm him down. His mouth doesn't move while talking so I know it's the mind link. 

Nathan looks at Jake and lets his nails grow back slowly. Do they think Jason changed because of me? 

Jason looks from Jake to Nathan. Jake probably blocked Jason out when he talked to Nathan. Jason slowly leans back again but keeps his eyes on Nathan. 

I hold my glass with two hands and stare at my drink.

"You don't have to drink it, nobody does...except Jason," Jake says, this time his voice sounds clear so I look up. 

"Give it to me," he holds out his hand. I give my glass. He turns around empties my glass in the bushes, then gives it back to me. 

"Thank you," I smile.

It doesn't surprise me that Jason likes it. He also likes his Dr.frizz.

Valentina comes out of the door with her tablet in her hand.

"Nathan, why didn't you go to Julia anymore?" She sits down next to me on the armrest of the couch. 

I think Julia is the fiance of Aiden.

"We were on our way but then Julia called and said that something had come up," Nathan explains. 

He sounds nicer but still looks so emotionless.

"Ohw ..." she nods and looks at her tablet. "Sooo guys, we discovered something. Well, actually Cira did."

She looks around, excited to tell them and then at me. 

Omg please, not the mind link thing. This wouldn't be the best time to tell them about that. I look at her with wide eyes and try to shake my head as subtle as possible. But she doesn't seem to get it.

"Cira can hear you!" she almost shouts.

I push my fist against my mouth and don't look at them.  

But this wasn't clear enough for them. Omg Valentina stop. 

"When you talk," silence "in your head." She looks at them with wide eyes.

Jake frowns at Valentina, Nathan stares at the floor with his fists clenched and Jason just looks at me.

 I have to explain it now, even though I don't really understand it myself.

"Yes uhm I can hear you when you talk to each other in your head. It's just like you talk out loud only it sounds dull. If you are far away I hear nothing or at least whisper. If you are close by, I just hear it as loud as you say in your head, I think." I explain. While talking I don't look at any of them. It is quiet for a moment. Jason and Jake look at each other and then look at me again.

Jake slides forward in his seat. 

''How does it work? Can we talk to you too?" He asks. 

"No, I just tried that but she didn't respond." I turn and look at Jason, he looks at Jake and now at me. He also moves forward and leans his elbows on his thighs. 

"I don't know much about it myself. I will try to make it stop." I promise. I wouldn't like it if someone could hear everything I say to Jade or Grace. 

"If I say something to Aiden, he is completely on the other side of the forest, would you hear that?" Jake asks. 

I shrug my shoulders, ''Wanna try?'' I ask. 

Jake nods and soon I hear a voice. "Hey Aiden!" It's quiet for a while. Jake looks at me with raised eyebrows, asking me if I heard something.  Aiden has probably responded already.

''And? Did you hear it? "Jake asks. They all look at me. 

"Nope, I heard you but not Aiden," I say and press my lips together. 

"Okay, you only hear the wolf that is close by," Jake concludes. 

The mother of Jake and Valentina comes out again. I quickly look at everyone's glasses. Mine and Jake's are empty. Jason's is half full and Nathan's is still full. Nathan quickly takes his glass and takes tree large gulps. He makes a dirty face and puts down his glass again. I look at Liz again and see that she has another tray with glasses on it. She puts the tray down on the table and takes Jake's glass. She is coming to me now to take my glass. 

"Do you want another drink?" She asks kindly. 

"No, I'm full already, but thank you." I hold up the glass. She smiles and takes the glass and walks back inside. 

We are all silent. Valentina moves and I see the tablet in her hand. That helps me remember why we came here. 

"Shall we sit there?" Valentina points to a picnic table on the lawn in front of the houses. I nod and we get up. 

"What are you going to do?" Jake asks.

Valentina turns around again. "I'm going to show Cira the dresses I had chosen for the wedding." She taps the tablet. 

I look at Jason who was already looking at me slightly smiling. I automatically get a smile on my face and then turn around again. 

"Ohw," says Jake and looks at Nathan again. Valentina and I walk to the stairs. I grab my crutches which I had put against the wall when Liz came out. 

"You can just leave your crutches, we'll be right back," Valentina says when she sees me.

"Okey," I leave them and walk with her. When we sit down she shows me the dresses. I really thought one dress was so beautiful.  It was khaki green, just above the knee and had a sweetheart neckline.

"Where is the wedding anyway?" 

"The weather is going to be nice at their wedding and they both love the forest, so they have an outdoor wedding at the end of the forest." 

"Wow they are gonna have amazing pictures, I'm sure it will be a beautiful wedding,'' I say. 

She nods and looks at the dresses again. 

"I need to know Jessica's opinion," she says. I hope for Valentina that Jessica likes the same dresses she likes. 

"Oh, yeah, I'm gonna look for what I will do with my hair." She goes to YouTube and looks for videos. Joshua and someone, I don't know, so I assume it's Aiden, walk towards us. I recognize him, he picked up Jason that one day in the black car. He already looks mature, taller and slightly bigger than the others. He has a slightly lighter skin color and a beard. He looks at me and holds out his hand.

"Hai, I'm Aiden," He smiles and shakes my hand gently. 

"Hey, I'm Cira," I smile back. 

They walk around the table and sit opposite from us. I see that he has light green eyes. 

"Is it a wolf thing or something? Having beautiful eyes? "I ask. Why did I ask it like that? 

They all laugh and I feel embarrassed for asking it.

Aiden crosses his arms. "Thank you, I had brown eyes first. I got green eyes when I became a wolf."He explains in a low voice.

 Joshua frowns "Yes, Justin and I also had brown eyes first." Valentina nods. 

"Nathan also had brown eyes first.'' She adds.

''Only Jason has always had such eyes. That is actually quite strange. "Valentina says and looks at Aiden. Aiden looks at her and nods. 

"Well, I guess it is a wolf thing, the eyes." He says and looks at me. 

"Maybe that's the reason Jason is changing eyes now. His eyes haven't changed when he became a werewolf, but the color pattern does change every month, "says Joshua. He sees that I am surprised, so explains further. 

"Every month around the full moon Jasons eyes change. Sometimes the middle is green and the outside is brown. Then it changes again to cracks green in brown. It is always different." Joshua explains. 

Wow, that is so cool, I wonder if I would notice it if they didn't tell me.

I smile and say ''wow''.  Why will that only be the case with him? Joshua looks at the tablet. 

"Valentina I really have to show you a movie, can I? He takes the tablet before she can answer. She nods and watches closely. 

Aiden focuses his attention on me. He asks a few questions. What I know about being Vini. I tell what I told the others. 

"You can see what we can, right? But are you're eyes as strong as ours, because we can see further that humans, and you' re a human.'' He asks.

"No, I have contact lenses, my eyes wors than normal average human eyes," I say laughing.

"Oh, so your senses are just human." Aiden nods and thinks again. Then he looks at the tablet.

"What were you doing?" He asked them.

Valentina pauses the video. "Cira was helping me find things I could do with my hair for your wedding," Valentina says glowing.

"Oh, really." Aiden looks at her, his eyes glowing.

I look at the tablet to see if that video is still open. No, she is now watching a make-up video. I see the time in the corner of the screen.

 It is already a quarter to five, the time has gone really fast. I have to go again in fifteen minutes.

Justin suddenly stands next to the table and sits down next to Joshua.

"Hey," he says cheerfully.

"Hi" says the rest back in unison.

Now I understand Valentina, you really don't hear them coming. Okay, remember, Justin is the more serious and has dark blue eyes. Joshua is the funny one and has light blue eyes.

''And did you made it? Jump over those tree trunks. "Valentina asks.

"Yes, of course." Justin proudly says a laughs at Joshua. Joshua rolls his eyes and looks at the tablet again.

Suddenly I see something next to me. Jake sits between me and Valentina. He says nothing and watches the tablet. Aiden looks at me again.

"Do you think we are different from normal people?" He asks. Haha, Valentina asked that too.

"No, not at all, you only sometimes talk about other things," I say.

Aiden nods and still looks at me like he wanna ask more questions but Justin is faster. 

"Did you expect that?" Justin asks. 

"Uhm" I look at them again. "I actually didn't expect that I would meet you all." I say and see that Jake looks at me strangely. "If I had known, I probably wouldn't have come."

Oh wow, why do I say these things out loud? That wasn't what I meant to say.

Justin and Joshua exchange glances and Aiden looks with his eyes narrowed.

"I would come but I would be very nervous," I say quickly add.

"Well, I felt offended" Jake jokes and pushed his hand to his chest.

They all laugh it off. But Justin focuses back on me again and so does Aiden.

''Why would you be nervous? Because we are wolves? "Aiden still asks kindly.

"Yeah but mostly because of me, what I am and how you would react to it," I say slowly feeling vulnerable while saying this. I look around, just to check if Jason is still near.

"We were also nervous when we heard you came here," Joshua says encouragingly when he noticed my mood change.

''True, we had already figured out what to say and what not to say," Justin laughing while all the other are giving him warning looks. 

I can't help but laugh, ''really?"

Jake now looks at me and laughs. "Yes, we discussed it with all of us, young people. We didn't want to ruin it the first time someone came here. "He says. 

The whole table is smiling now. Oh wow, they are really nice people. I feel so welcome here and much more comfortable now. I think that everyone else does now too, well not Nathan. 

"Bzzz" I feel my phone vibrate in my pocket.I grab it so see a message from my mother.

Mom:
Cira be home at half-past six. We're going to eat pizza!

Yeah yummy, pizza! 

It is now 5 o'clock, I should go now. I put the phone back in my pocket and get up.

"I  should go home now. It was really nice to meet you all." I say and smile at them.

"Already?" Joshua asks.

"Yes, my mother wants me to be home at half-past five."

"Oh well, it was nice to meet you too," Joshua says, and Justin nods in agreement. Valentina also stands up. 

We all say goodbye, after that Valentina en I walk back to her house to get my crutches. Valentina automatically walks towards her house without looking up from her tablet. 

I just want to ask if she has already found something nice, but then she already starts.

"I think I already know what to do with my hair. I just keep my curls and then a low bun with loose strands framing my face." She closes her tablet and looks at me again.

"Oh, nice, I want to see a photo, OK?" I say laughing.

"Duhh of course," she also says with a smile. We walk up the stairs and Liz stands in the doorway talking to Jason and Nathan who are still in the same places. When she sees us approaching, she looks back.

"Hey Cira, are you staying with us for dinner?" Asks Liz.

"Ohw, no, my mom wants me to be home,'' I say. Staying for dinner would be a little awkward.

"Oh, that's a shame,'' Liz says and looks a little disappointed.

Wow, they are so nice to me. This is so not what I expected.

  ''I'm going home now. It was nice to meet you." I smile. I feel Jason his eyes on me since we walked the stairs.

"It was nice to meet you too, come again soon." She says kindly and pishes my arm softly.

"Liz, I think something's burning," Nathan says, looking at the window.

"Oh dear, well bye Cira, Valentina come help me." She hurries inside.

"But I would walk with Cira," Valentina says. Liz pauses in the middle of the corridor. 

"Ohw," she looks stressed.

"It is not necessary I will find my way back," I say quickly. That is not true, I have no idea where I should go. I had not watched the road at all.

"I'll walk with you," Jason says. He gets up from the couch.

"Okay, thanks Jays," says Liz and runs on.

Valentina looks annoyed with this. "Oh well okay, bye Cira it was fun." She says and hugs me. She walks to the doorway and disappears.

She is gone before I can say something. 

Jason is now nex to me. I can't help the goofy smile on my face when I turn around to face him. When I see his face I see that he looks at me but soft eyes, he presses his lips to s straight line to hide his smile. 

''Let's go,'' he says revealing his smile while he opens his mouth to talk.

I walk to the wall and grab the crutches. I don't use them but just hold them. 

"I'll hold them," Jason offers. 

"Oh no, you have to ..." 

"Enjoy the time you can walk without them," he interrupts me and takes the crutches from my hands. 

"Okay, thank you." I will enjoy walking without them. I lead the way back to the stairs again. Before I walk down to stairs I take a step back to see Nathan who has been keeping his eyes on us.

"Bye Nathan," I call, totally not expecting a response. 

"Bye," he says back. 

Wow, progress!

Jason smiles briefly and frowns. "What is it?" I ask softly as we walk down the stairs. 

He looks at me. "No nothing," he says and we just continue walking. 

There is something, but I am not asking any further. 

"Sorry about all that, It wasn't planned." He apologizes when we are just walking into the forest. 

"You don't have to apologize, I really enjoyed it, everyone was so nice." While walking I let my wingers slide over the trees. I let the sunshine on my face, burning a little, and let the grass tickle my legs. I love it here, I love the forest. 

Jason looks at me with, watching my every step.

 "I don't get you." He says. This makes me look at him. ''Why do you act so normal to Nathan when you hear what he says about you?" He takes a step forward and pushes a branch up so that we can walk underneath it. 

"Well, I understand him. He just wants you to be safe." I simply say. 

He doesn't respond to that. 

After a couple seconds of silence, I see him look at me. I look back and see a grin on his face.
''So you have a thing for eyes.'' he teases.

He just made clear he was listening in on us. I'm not surprised he did, and kind of happy about it. I know he would help me when I need him.

"Yeah, well you all have beautiful eyes, all different colors,'' I respond smiling and looking up at him. Of all the beautiful eyes I have seen today, his are my favorites. ''But I prefer the green with brown ones,'' I add. 

Wow, did I say that? 

He seems as surprised at this as me. I look up to his flushed face, he looks away, breaking eye contact.

I know I should look away so he won't feel embarrassed but his reaction is just adorable. Ahww I do didn't expect him to act shy. 

When I do look away, he speaks up.

"I'm happy to hear that,'' He says with a grin on his face. 

We walk on in silence both with a smile on our face. I don't get why I different after today. I always felt drawn to him but I suppressed my feelings but it feels harder to that now.

 "Wait, was this planned?" I suddenly hear Jason say. I look at him but see that he isn't looking at me. 

When he sees me turn he looks at me like I'm about to say something. When i'm silent he seemed to have figured it out. "I really have to get used to this," he says laughing. 

It is weird, them talking to each other in their heads.

"Joshua suddenly said: That was a good idea Aiden. I didn't understand what he meant by that. Then Aiden said: yes we all wanted to meet her. "He looks at me too if I am following. They said something like that when they agreed what to say and what not to say.

Was it planned they would come back?

"They would leave, going to Aiden's fiancé. When they came back, we thought it was because she had canceled, but it was their plan to come back because they wanted to meet you." He seems relieved for some reason.

 Wow, they just came up with a plan so they could meet me.  Why did they have to come up with a plan? Surely they could just stay here and not pretend to have an appointment? 

"Why couldn't they just stay here,  they would have met me then, right?'' If Valentina and I had arranged to hang out on a different day, I would have met them. 

 We arrive at the second lawn, where I saw Jason in his wolf form.

"That's right, but Valentina knew they would be away on Wednesday, that's why she said she could hang out. If you had suggested another day, Valentina would have said no. She wouldn't meet you on a day the others are there too.'' He says. I remember her hesitation when I asked her to hang out.

"I have a question," I say quietly. 

''Of course you have,'' he looks at me and waits for my question.

"Was Nathan the only one who..." how do you say that? Not accepted, not trusted. He seems to understand what I mean because he is already answering. 

"Nathan was the only one who had the most trouble with it ..." he looks uncomfortable, it is clear that he didn't want to talk about this. 

"Ohw," 

He is smiling at me. You see his dimples and those wrinkles around his eyes again. I could stare at him all day long. When we realize that we are staring at each other, I look away but he keeps staring.

''That's why I asked Jake to be there with me. I don't know how, but Jake always knows how to calm Nathan down," He says and thinks. 

"Oh" 

I know how he did that. By telling him I'm the reason Jason is smiling again. I can't be the reason for his changes right? I don't think so, I didn't even do anything. I think it's just because he went to school. A new environment a new start. 

We arrive at the lawn behind Christina's house. 

"I think you should use crutches again, just in case they look out the window." He hands me the crutches. I put them around my arms and lean on them.

We walk further out of the forest. When we are on the field we face each other.

"Thank you for walking with me.''

He puts his hands in his pockets. "No problem," he says and smiles. 

"All right, see you tomorrow," I say and turn a little toward the houses. I have to just go because otherwise, I would be staring at him again.

"Yes, see you tomorrow." He says with a grin.

We both turn around and walk away. I walk with a smile on my face. 

Quickly pick up my bag then home.

During dinner, I tell them that I have met Valentina their family. I also tell about James. My mother wanted to email the school but I persuaded her not to. I told her that Jason probably broke his hand and that would cause him bigger problems. 

''I like that Jason boy,'' my mother laughing leaving the email thing.

''He broke his hand?'' Grace asked with startled eyes and smiled at me.

Before I go to sleep I read my brother a story and do my homework.

I can't fall asleep. To be honest, I had expected that. So much has happened today. The whole day plays through my mind. Especially Jason. In the morning with that James happen, later in the forest when he came as a wolf form. I remember the feeling of his soft fur between my fingers. When he told me about his mother, the emotions intense I felt them. That feeling comes back again and I remember how he told it. I can see how he was so nervous a little later and when we walked back to the lawn, his perfect smile.
