"Trrr..trrr ... trrr," The screen of my laptop turns on, I forgot that my friends and I were gonna video chat. We usually do that when we are done with important homework and have time left.
I put my computer on my real windowsill and grab my sketchbook. I take a pencil box from my desk and sit down on my window seat again.  I answer the call and the faces of Jade and Danielle and the room of Indira appear on my screen.

"Hay," I call.

"Heeyy," they respond in choir.

"Where is Sylvana?" I no longer need an answer to my question, because her face appears on the screen too.

"Hey hey," she says. She is typing her paper about Argentina.

Indira also appears walking towards the camera with a bowl of chips. Danielle is straightening her hair and Jade is watching a movie.

"Where are you going, Dani, why are you styling your hair?" Jade asks.

"I'm going to ..." she says distracted, she looks over the screen in her mirror. Then she responds looking in the camera again.

"Oh no, I'm not going anywhere, I'm just trying things with my hair," she laughs.

I grab my pencils and start sketching again. You can already see that it is another drawing in a forest.

"Who is going to watch that new show? It will start in ten minutes" Jade looks at her TV while talking.

"Which show?" I ask.

"That new dance show" I hear Jade respond.

"Oh no, I'm not going to watch," I usually watch dance shows but I'm not in the mood to watch it while I can't even do the simples routines myself.

"I think I'll take a look," Indira announces with her mouth full of chips.

"Yes me too," Danielle sang.

"Not me, I'm still working on this annoying paper." Sylvana mumbles.

"So Cira, how was your lunch break? Sylvana asks looking in the camera again. I'm now looking up at the screen for the first time. They all look up at the screen, and I'm sure they're looking at me.

"Yes uhm ... nice." I answered awkwardly, looking at my pencils again. Now all the questions will come and with that all the lies.

They are silent for a second. I know they think I act weird because I don't talk about him. But I can't tell the truth and I don't want to lie to them.

"Why don't you tell us anything?" Indira says, looking hurt. "We always tell each other everything." 

It's not fair to make me feel guilty. We almost never keep anything from each other. I don't want them to think that I don't trust them. But this is not something I can just tell.

"What do you want to know?" I look at my sketchpad again, so they can't see my face properly.
I can tell them the truth as long as it isn't about werewolves or Vini's.

"Do you like him?'' Daniëlle asks, her voice serious.

"No, "I replied before thinking about it. I look away from the screen at my drawing.

''No? Why not? "Indira raises her voice and puts another chip in her mouth.

Because I don't trust him. I don't know what he is up to. We won't ever work as a couple.

"I don't know," I say and smile. "I don't know him that well yet. It will just be a drama." They all nod.

I don't know if he is dangerous, why he gave me all the answers to my questions today and when he will leave.

"And look at Jason he is gorgeous, every girl in the school looks at him and likes him. The prettiest girls. He just doesn't really react on it yet."

"Yes because he only has eyes for you." Sylvana stats.

"Uhu," Indira nods in agreement.

''True the boy had been staring at you since the day he came here,'' Jade says.

''He brought you to the school doctor,'' Sylvana continues.

''He apologized the other day, and it was really cute because he was really sorry,'' Indira adds.

''I saw it on a video, and it was pretty hot the way he stood up for you against Dimelo even tho you were angry at him and didn't want to talk to him,'' Danielle says not looking in the camera.

They all said something, so I think it's my turn to speak now. When I open my mouth to say something Indira stops me.

''We are not done,'' she stops me.

''He made sure you didn't fall today.'' Jade keeps summing up.

Indira nods her head. ''Cira the way he smiled at you after we told hem that you were his for the break was to die for, omg it was so cute,'' she says in a high-pitched voice.

Yeah, he is looking at me to find out what kind of weird creature I am. But I can't help the smile on my face. My mind wanders back to the day. A smile disappears when the conversation with Ashley pops up. Wow, I have to tell them this. I really wanna see their reaction.

"After school, Ashley and Mila came to talk to me." 

Jade rolls her eyes. She never liked Ashley. "Why?" she asks.

"Ashley came to tell me that she likes Jason, and he likes her back of course." Danielle laughs very loudly, Sylvana shakes her head disapprovingly, Indira holds a hand in front of her mouth so chips won't fall out and Jade smiles.

"She wishes that was true," says Danielle. 

I laugh briefly at their response but then continue. "She told me to stay away from him, he hasn't seen her yet because I was chasing after him. And uhh ... what did she say?"

I stop to think, but It doesn't take long before her words pop up. 

''Ohw she said that I never have had a boyfriend so I shouldn't go after the hottest guy and that he is way out of my league.''

"She said that?'' Jade looks pissed, ''I'm so gonna hit her tomorrow, Jesus I hate that girl.''

''She shouldn't have said that.'' Indira agrees.

I start talking before everyone is gonna say something.

"Yes, but the best part is yet to come. Jason heard what she said." They all look curious now.

"He came from behind them so they didn't see him. He said: ''It's  Ashley right, thanks but I am not interested.''

Their eyes go wide. ''Yasss! He said that?'' Indira almost screams.

I nod and smile at them.

''What happened next?'' Jade asks.

''He said: That I'm not chasing him, but it would be the other way around and he said: It's not weird, Cira has never had boyfriend, let's not talk about why you have had so many.''

My screen is filled with faces with open mouths, a smile, and startled eyes. Chips are falling out of Indira's mouth now.

''No he didn't!'' Sylvana speaks first.

Danielle starts laughing ''Omg did he say that?''

I nod my head and start laughing too.

"Haha, wow, she really deserved that," Jade says with a mean smile.

Sylvana is still in the same position. "What did she say then?" She finally asks.

''Nothing, she just stood there, then we walked out of the schoolyard," I explain, I take a grape from the bowl and put it in my mouth.

"You know what's weird, Jason said he never had a girlfriend." They are all silent now.

Sylvana looks surprised, Jade looks as if I have gone mad because I think it can be true. Danielle looks shocked and Indira looks as if I have asked a very difficult question and she has to think about the answer.

"But at his old school? Didn't he have a girlfriend there? "Danielle interrupted the silence. I am already answering without thinking.

"He was homeschooled." I think I'm allowed to say that.

"Seriously, why?" Danielle asks. Who is now done with half of her hair?

"Uhm I don't know, I think his parents just thought it was better." I look at my drawing again and grab a thicker pencil. They nod again and continue with what they were doing.

Indira her bowl of chips is now empty, so she is now focused on our conversation.

"Ci, you said you walked out of the schoolyard after that Ashley thing. Did you guys hang out?

Okay maybe too focused.

"Yes, we just talked a little." The others are now also listening.

"What were you talking about?" Asks Indira again. Now I have to start lying again, great.

"Oh, just normal stuff. What we did on the weekend, school, the lessons, friends, that sort of thing." I grab another grape and continue drawing. I wait for them to say something.

"Oh," says Danielle, not satisfied with my answer. She probably expected something more interesting.

It's quiet again for a while, luckily we are done talking about this topic. I look at the screen. Everyone is doing something else, but Jade is looking at the screen. When she sees that I also watch, she starts talking.

"I have something to tell you," Jade says and smiles shyly. Everyone looks at her curiously.

"I like Kendall," she says softly and quickly, but hard enough to hear her.

"Omg, really?" Says Danielle surprised.

"So Cute!" Sylvana shouts.

"Yes, omg, who is Kendall?" Asks Indira with a grin on her face and now has the whole bag of chips in her hand.

I smile and continue with my sketch.

Jade talks about Kendall and their conversations and the others ask questions.

I look at my sketch and see that it much clearer what it should be. This forest seems familiar. I look through my sketchbook, searching for the drawing of the forest. It is exactly the same forest from exactly the same point of view. Only now there are figures in it. Four large wolves come walking out from behind the tries. They walk in the direction of the person from whose view your watching. They have bared their teeth and have an aggressive look in their eyes. It looks like they are gonna attack the person standing there.
Further on, between the trees, is another wolf. He also looks aggressive, but different from the other wolves. He doesn't look at the person but he looks at the wolves.

"Ci shows us." I hear Jade say.

All four are silent and watching the screen. I lift my sketchbook and turn it around so that they can see it.

"Niceee," Sylvana and Indira say simultaneously

"Wauw," Says Danielle.

I smile briefly.

I hear my door open and I look back. My mother is standing in the doorway.

"Cira I'm going to sleep. Are you gonna sleep soon, you have school tomorrow?''

"I will, goodnight mom!''

''Goodnight,'' she replies and walks up the stairs to her room. I look at the clock on my computer. It is a quarter past 10. I think I am going to sleep at half-past ten, I am pretty tired.

They are talking about that tv show and the people who participate in it.

I draw the clouds and leaves of the trees further with a light gray pencil.

"Guys I'm going, I will see you tomorrow." Says Danielle while yawning and closes the chat.

"I think I'm going too, I'm tired," I say.

"Yes, I will go too,'' Sylvana says.

"Me too." Jade nods her head.

"Okay, everyone sleeps well," Indira waves.

We great each other and end the conversation.

I put my computer pencils and sketchbook away and then lie down on my bed. I turn off the lights and fall asleep quickly.
