"Nico I just need to use the bathroom stop panicking" I say as I move and he immediately jumps to my side

"Well be careful" he mumbles and I give him an amused look

"I never took you for a worrier its adorable" I comment wincing as I stood up

I saw him take a step forward but seeing I got it he just stood to the side

Gods this is weird usually I am doing what Nico is

I go to the bathroom and I look in the mirror and I decide to take a look under the bandages

Their is a line all around me under my breast probably gonna be bruised  too some were dark red probably the parts that broke skin

Nico you did do a great job

I notice how dirty the bandage is and I realized it has been a few hours since Kayla and Austin have changed it might need to call one of them

I finish my business and I come out and I hear the door close and Nico was just looking away from it and sees me

"Hey they have to do surgery so it will be a bit before they come back" Nico says and I sigh getting back on the bed

"Okay" I said and he sees the look on my face

"Is everything okay?" He asks and I smile

"Yea don't worry about it" I say and he just raises an eyebrow and I sigh

"My bandages are dirty and need to be changed and I can't do them myself since I can't see my back either to apply the ointment" I said and he nods and looks around and spots where Austin put it

"I could do it" he says and I shake my head

"I can wait " I say and he gave me a hurt look

"I've done it before" he whispers and I felt bad

"I know you can its just..." I pause not knowing how to word this

"Self consious?" He asks and I shake my head

"Close. Dysphoric" I say and seems to understand

"Will you need to have those bandages changed" he says sternly

"But-" he cuts me very quickly

"Death Doctors Orders" he says and snort looking at him

"Really" I ask with an amused look and he shrugs

"I'm trying to pull what you do okay?" He said and I sigh

"Alright" I say and he walks over to the sink and washes his hands before going over to grab the ointment and bandages

"So.." he asks not knowing what to do from here

"You have to undo the top of my gown and slide it down" I instruct and he goes to the side and unties the top of the gown and my stomach turns

He slides it down and when my chest was exposed I covered it but made sure he could access the wound

I saw him give me a sympathetic look but got to work

I felt extremely uncomfortable about this but also a bit of relaxation around Nico I knew he was only doing this because he cared

Soon he finished with the bandage and I uncovered myself so we can put the top of the gown back and he never looked once and he was tying the top of the gown

"You should volunteer down here. As an assistant" I say breaking the silence

"Possibly, I'm not sure" he said and I roll my eyes

"Austin and Kayla suggested it. You learn well and pick up on things quickly. With how its looking you could work here" I said and he looked at me confused

"Work here?" He asked and I laugh at his expression

"Yes mostly Apollo kids work in the infirmary but when another camper wants to we start them out as an assistant and if they get good enough they become a nurse or a doctor here. Its only happened twice but they left camp when they were old enough" I explain and he seems surprised

"What were the Godly parent of these two?" He asked as he sat crossed legged on the foot of my bed

"One was Athena and the other Heticate" I explained and he snorts

"Yea those two are one thing. But a child of Hades?" He says and I groan

"Niiiiico. Just because your Dad is Hades doesn't mean anything. Your smart and you are great with quick thinking and you memorize medical things fairly quickly from what I know. You could work here and Did I mention you get paid after your done with being an assistant?" I say now just trying bribery

"I don't care about the money Will. Wait I didn't know you got paid?" He asked confused and I laugh

"Not many do. It depends on your rank in the infirmary. If help with minor wounds you get 25 dollars and 2 dracamas a week. If you do major injuries 50 dollars and 5 dracamas a week. Do surgeries and all those things like Austin and Kayla 100 dollars and 10 dracamas a week" I explain and he nods his head

"What about you? You run the entire infirmary and do all those things" Nico asked and I hesitate

"Uh. I'd rather not say" I mumble and he raises an eyebrow

"Why?" He asked and I rub the back of my neck

"Because I don't like it. I like to think Austin, Kayla, and I run it together and I asked Chiron many times to lessen my pay but he gives me the same speech "You deserve this William Solace" or if I ask him to raise their pay he tells me "They are hard workers yes but they do not do what you do" then I try to split my pay with them and they won't take it saying "You earned it fair in square" and yadayadada" I say and he snorts at that

"Will that just shows you that they also see that you deserve it. How much is it that gets you so wound up?" He asks curious

"200 a week and 50 Dracamas" I sigh and his eyes widen

"Oh wow." He said and I laugh at his face

"Yea. I don't spend the dollars I actually been saving those since I started off with just minor wounds. I only spend the Dracamas since I never leave camp except during the Titan war. To visit my mom once. Or the Gaea war" I explain and his eyes flicker to my camp necklace

"10 beads. You've been here since you were 5?" He asked kinda startled

"Yea. My mom was country singer and she didn't want me in the light so at 5 she sent me to camp. I never left because she didn't want to risk it until I was 14 I went to visit her once because I worried something happened to her because she stop sending my T-Shots and that was a mistake. So only time I left was fighting in the wars" I explain dodging the part about her being a complete drunk now

"So you don't have access to your shots anymore?" He asked and I nodded

"Its okay for now those 2 years on T did a lot so I can pass very well. I'm saving the money so when I do move away from camp I can support support myself through medical school and get myself back on T. Eventually get top surgery" I tell him and he hums nodding

"Thats very admirable honestly" he says with a small smile and I chuckle a little.

"Thanks" I say awkwardly and a question came to mind

"You unusually social today. Between wanting McDonalds with me to staying and talking and your even smiling a lot more. Not that I'm complaining but I'm curious about the sudden change" I ask him and he blushed a little shaking his hair so it covered his eyes

"Uh. Well you annoy me a lot less then most. And I realized you were working a lot and thought it could be a chance too...be your friend since you seemed you wanted to be...and when you passed out and I felt your life slipping...I realized I cared a lot more about you than I thought....and I want to be able to spend more time with you without acting like a complete asshole" He said and I see his blush growing deeper making me grin

He is so cute

"I do owe you McDonalds. Maybe when I get out of here I can take you" I smile and he looks up and I noticed his usual dark almost black eyes seem to lighten to a golden brown

"Yea okay" he smiles and my heart beat sped up staring at him

He looks at me and we make eye contact and just stare at each other

"This is really weird" I hear from the doorway and I look up and Kayla smacks the back of Austins head

"You idiot you ruined their moment" she scolds and Nico blushes

"I should go." He says hopping down from the bed

"I'll see you tomorrow" he says and nods to Austin and Kayla before walking out

"You guys are so obvious it hurts" he complains and I roll my eyes at his dramatics

"Oh shut up or I will tell Tanner from Ares Cabin about your crush on him next time he comes into the infirmary" I threaten and he shuts up blushing

Kayla giggles "Its really funny. Every Girl at camp thinks you and Will are straight but the only straight one out of us 3 is me" she laughs and Austin rolls his eyes and I laugh

"Whats funny is Austin is into tall muscle anger temper man. Then there is Austin a lean easy going jokester." I point out

"He is always nice to me thoughhhh" Austin says and Kayla snorts

"I wonder why because he likes you!" Kayla says annoyed

"No he doesnt!" Austin says throwing his arms in the air

"Actually he does." I said deadpanned and he looks at me

"How would you know?" Austin asks looking curious

"Campers come in when I heal them and often talk to me about things when I heal them because I am non-judgmental. The one time you didn't heal Tanner and I did he asked me what things you would like on a date" I smirk and Austin turned red

"Wait really? When was this Will?" He asks running up to my bed and Kayla giggled

"Yesterday" I laughed and his widen and he spaced offed

"Earth to Austin!" Kayla yells wave her hand in front of his face

"I uh. One moment I am comprehending my life" he says and Kayla both laughed

"So 3 days?" I ask and his nurse mode turned on

"Yea. Thats when you will be aloud to move freely but you can't wear your binder for 2 weeks" He says and my head snaps up

"But...my chest.." I say and Kayla sighs

"You can wear a sports bra. Will you really don't have a big chest. An oversized shirt would cover a lot. You know the dangers Will." She says softly

"Another thing. For those 2 weeks you are relieved from your infirmary duties. Because your body will be healing still thats the reason you can't be wearing a binder. Using your healing abilities will slower that healing process or even working will hurt you because we know you Will. If you have a camper with a serious enough injury you won't hesitate to use your powers" Austin said and I sigh

"In that case you tell Chiron or I even will. If you guys are running the infirmary you get my pay. And I get nothing" I say sternly and they seem hesitant

In times in the infirmary if a doctor or nurse has to leave for medical reasons they still get paid as medical absence

"Will..." They both say and I shake my head

"No. You guys will be in charge and taking over my duties. You deserve it. You deserve it now even." I say and they sigh

"Why does it bug you that you get paid more. Will you're our only battle medic. You run this infirmary smoothly, Your the head counselor and your the only one in Apollo Cabin with healing powers" Austin said I flop backwards

"Because. You both work so hard. You deserve it. Austin your head nurse and Kayla your head surgeon. Just because I run everything shouldn't mean I get paid more" I say and Kayla sits next to me

"Will you stay overnight half the time taking care of people. While Austin and I go to the pavilion or go do activities you always stay and by the time we return you have healed over 100 campers patched up minor wounds and scold Nico within 2 hours.  You deserve what you get Will. Austin and I don't care" She says and I huff

"I don't know. But I am serious. If your taking over my duties for 2weeks your getting it end of discussion" I serious and Austin sighs and lays across my stomach

"Excuse me sir this is goes against patient safety protocols" I joke and he laughs

"Let me show my love dear brother" He laughs and I snort the Kayla lays across my legs

"Oh no not you too" I say and she laughs

"Oh come on Will you love us" she says and I shake my head at them

"Yea I love you guys"
