Two weeks ago...

"I apologize for calling all of you here on such short notice."

Nezu spoke from his seat.

Here they were, all of UA's teaching staff sitting around in the meeting room early in the morning — almost an hour and a half before the classes would begin for the day.

The principal; Nezu called them in earlier than usual for an important discussion. A discussion that he thought they would never have to address in the future but apparently fate had other plans. It wasn't like he himself wanted to have this conversation again. Nobody wanted to have this conversation again.

But there were questions that needed to be answered, problems that needed to be solved and a traitor needed to be caught.

The teachers sat quiet, anticipating another statement from the mouse, bear, dog thing. But the principal remained quiet for a while.

Midnight asked, breaking the silence, "What... What was it this time?"

"Information on our new security measures installment." Nezu replied almost immediately, "It wasn't exactly stolen, to say. But my systems do track all activities. The files were, without a doubt, accessed by an outsider."

"So, they just came in and read what new installments we were going to make?" Aizawa asked, already knowing the answer.

"It appears so."

All Might asked, hesitantly afterwards, "Didn't... The cameras catch anything?"

"Sadly," Nezu shook his head, "they managed to sneak their way around them. And that fact just screams that they knew the layout beforehand. They're too practiced, far too practiced to have missed my eye. I would've applauded them if they weren't possessing such a huge threat to our students, you know? To have survived this long, to have evaded my systems... I'm afraid, they're here. Still, they reside in this school to pull such feats."

"So, it is a traitor after all." Vlad King grunted. "Any suspects?"

Nezu replied, "I do... Though it's more of an educated guess really. I don't have any solid evidence. In any case, I don't want to rush things and mess up what we have."

"Just a curious question, do you think it's among the staff or...?" Present Mic asked, trailing off at the end but the rest understood what he meant, regardless.

"Why? Is it your cover that's about to be blown?" Midnight bit back a laugh.

The Voice hero confessed, "The most traitorous act I have ever committed was kidnapping Eraser's cat when we were in highschool."

"That was you?"

"You had a good run, Mic. We'll remember you."

"Not really." Snipe denied.

The blonde in question gasped, "Meanie...!!"

"Let's come back to the topic and not kill people over kittens, mhm?" Nezu chirped, "Yes, so, like I was saying... I don't have any solid proof neither I wish to rush things. So, I have devised a three-way plan to uncover more about our infamous UA traitor!"

"Please don't tell me you're getting the students involved..." Aizawa mentally clasped his hands together.

"We're getting the students involved!"

"Why...?" The raven haired man could only sigh at the principal's antic tone.

Nezu continued, ignoring him, "As you know, I love studying you petty humans' emotional and psychological statuses whenever I pull something! We'll be using that one of my strongest pieces to single out the dastard that came near my files!"

"Are we sure you're not the rat?"

"Was that a pun? I swear to god if it is—!"

Aizawa skillfully cut over whatever chaos was going to happen, "Why are the students getting involved?"

"I'll move my plan in the cover of a training exercise, simple!" The principal explained, "The students will be divided in teams, paired up to solve a bunch of ridiculous traps set up by a faux traitor. If the real traitor is among the students, I can easily tell them apart by their reactions, expression or even thought pattern. If these traps are set up in the same way the real traitor did them for tricking me, they will bound to have an unordinary reaction in comparison to the others. I'll corner them with their own petty scheme."

Vlad King sat up straight, "And your telling us all of this... Knowing one of us can betray you? Do you perhaps trust us or have you finally gone stupid?"

"Who said I told you what I'm doing? I just told you what the students would be doing." Nezu replied, "Don't get me wrong, you're all too dumb to actually trick me. I know it's none of my staff. I just want to be careful so I won't be sharing any inner details of my plan with any of you."

"Yes, sir."

"Alright then... Let's begin the traitor hunt."

~O~

"Time's up, yo! Little listeners, please gather around Ground Beta and update your assigned teachers about your findings!" Present Mic's voice spoke over the communicators provided to the students beforehand.

And so they did. All five teams ceased their self-assigned tasks and headed back to regroup where they had first started, Aizawa and All Might were both found to be already present.

"Wasn't that quick? We only had an hour and half to look for anything..." Kaminari commented.

"The exercise goes on for a week at most. We can't look over your studies for that long. You will still have afternoon classes."

"So that means our Math quiz wouldn't be cancelled?! Mr. Aizawa, you traitor!" Ashido cried, accusingly pointing at her homeroom teacher.

All Might coughed, "Be careful, kids. That might be more true than you think."

"Excuse me?" Aizawa shot the lanky man an incredulous look.

"Anyhow, let's discuss the situation before your next class!" The retired hero, however, chose to ignore him like everyone else.

"As unbecoming of the one representing this class as it is, neither my teammates nor I were able to find anything useful in the principal's office. Since he was there to guide us, we were informed that there was indeed no harm done to any kind of information for the time being. The malware was blocking direct access but we were able to reach the data once we switched devices." Iida stated.

"I have suspicions on the teachers!" Uraraka exclaimed, both her fists curled up as she puffed out one of her cheeks.

Jirou added, "Without evidence."

"But we have suspicions on the teachers, regardless. You don't always need solid evidence to prove something obvious. Like All Might being Midoriya's fa—!"

"SHUSH, TODOROKI!" Screeched a very flustered green haired boy from afar.

"I think Ectoplasm was acting a bit strange. He looked extra scary too today." Kaminari added, ignoring wherever his hetrochromatic teammate was going.

"That's just the Math quiz, bro."

"Hush now, Kirishima. Don't disturb Detective Kaminari. He's a busy bird." The brunette placed a finger on her lips and one on Kirishima's before the boy respectfully nodded and replied with,

"Yes, ma'am. My apologies."

'These kids can't, Nezu... They can't possibly solve a case like this one... Look at them... They're dumb.' Aizawa tried not to show any signs of what he was thinking and the poker face didn't fail him at all.

"All right. All right... What about the other teams?" All Might seemed to be unfazed by what was giving Aizawa a headache. It only added more to the tired hero's headache.

Team Purple went on next to explain how they didn't find that could actually prove to be important to the case except a few marks and footprints here and there which could pretty much be a result of the last training session held at Ground Beta.

As they explained their situation, Midoriya could practically feel Yaoyorozu's stare burn into his back. But the moment he chose to subtly turn to look at her, the black haired girl would avert her gaze and act as if she was talking to one of her teammates.

'She's being suspicious of me... Good. Maybe I can put up an act to make her believe those assumptions...?'

The green haired boy thought to himself as he subconsciously submerged deeper into his own little world, occasionally muttering at an inaudible voice — thank you, Kacchan. He was completely unaware of his surroundings until the other team had assumingly finished their explanation and All Might turned to address his,

"How about Team Green, huh?"

The boy snapped back to reality in an instant, "Heh? Uh... Us? Yeah, um..."

Seeing that Midoriya had no way to pull a cover over his plans, Bakugou backed him up by positively exploding, "Shitty rat won't hide from me for any longer!! I was this fucking close to that dumbass!! Idiot doesn't know shit about being sneaky if ya ask me! You're fucking stupid if you think I need these dumb dumbasses to find out another one of their kind!! If it wasn't for Present Mic interrupting me midway, I would be strangling the bastard right now!!"

"It's okay, Bakugou. You can admit you didn't find anything useful." Todoroki stated impassively.

"What the fuck did you just say, you fucking pokeball?!"

All Might only sighed as Midoriya and Kirishima worked to hold back the ash blonde before any blood could be split or buildings could be burnt. Todoroki, however, remained confused.

"Team Yellow, you're up." Aizawa turned to the four teenagers, "And please end this quickly. I don't think I can stand another minute without black coffee."

"We did find something. A proper suspect... Or suspects perhaps? Could there be more than one traitors, Mr. Aizawa?" Yaoyorozu asked, tapping a finger on her chin.

"Who knows?" The underground hero shrugged, "Accomplices, villains, it could be any of those. Though, I'd give you a hint; they prefer to work alone."

"Oh, is that so?" The black haired girl mumbled. "We'll need more proof before jumping to any conclusions if that's the case."

'A lone wolf, huh?' A certain green head thought to himself. Thinking of how he assumed the traitor's plan would go, it made sense for them to be working alone. Yaoyorozu might have suspicions on his entire team after that act they pulled with the security camera but at least now he knew that his own deductions were correct.

A lone wolf hiding among them, making distractions that looked like a massive threat but were absolutely harmless... The time for the investigation was limited, Aizawa had told them. From 11:00 to 12:30 , just the noon. Why? The traitor was asked to move in the evening and the night. As the two teachers guided the students to head back to their class,

Midoriya might have had the idea of where and when the traitor would strike next.

~O~

Evening time,

Some of the students were gathered around the Common Area, finishing up their assignments and occasionally asking each other to explain a difficult problem. Nothing much. Midoriya was sitting between Aoyama and Uraraka, helping them with homework while he observed the fact that most of his classmates seemed to have forgotten about the faux traitor they were supposed to capture in a week's span. Even Yaoyorozu appeared to be clueless of the fact that the training was not limited to those one and a half hours. It would go on for the whole week, the investigation time was the only thing limited.

Good.

He took a quick glance at the clock hanging on the opposite wall. If his predictions were correct the traitor should make a move any minute now.

"Deku, look... I think I messed up this one again." Uraraka said as she showed him her notebook.

The green head smiled softly, gently taking it from her, "Ah... Let me see."

Lights out.

The security alarms blared.
