They say no one is to be trusted in this world.
And the saddest part is that betrayal never comes from your enemies.
It's always that person who you think you can trust the most, a friend of yours that sugar coats reality for you. The one backstabber with the mask of innocence who promised to always be with you when you needed them.
And nothing hurts more to find out about the betrayal of such a person who you thought could never do anything wrong to you.
Sadly,
Class-1-A learnt that the hard way...
"H-How could you, Kaminari...?"
Ashido's tone of voice was filled with great sadness from the betrayal and shock of the unexpected doings of her so-called friend.
She clenched her fists tightly, although she kept them to her sides. Her shoulders were slightly shaking, representing the ever growing anger towards the boy who stood in front of her with a shameful expression, struggling to prove his own stance on the situation.
"I-I trusted you... We trusted you...!! A-And what did you d-do? Took advantage of everything we gave you?!" The pink skinned girl exclaimed, small tears rested at the corners of her unique eyes, "I thought... I thought we were friends..."
"Ashido, please!" Kaminari put up his hands as if to defend himself from the upcoming accusations, "Trust me, I didn't intend to do any of it! It wasn't my fault! I was completely helpless! I couldn't control it! I'm sorry, I didn't mean for this to happen! Please forgive me!"
Ashido only looked away from the electric blonde, not saying anything else. There was nothing else left to say. Everything was out in the open. The evidence, the culprits, the victims... And the traitor. There was no use in trying to hide the truth anymore for anyone.
"It's way too late for a sorry, my friend..." Kirishima placed a hand on Kaminari's shoulder from behind.
The electric blonde turned to the redhead with a horrified look while the other boy held weak sympathy in his eyes for one of his best friends who just... Who just did something nobody thought he would.
A dark aura lurked over Class-1-A that morning. Standing in the class, a few minutes before homeroom, all things were revealed. The traitor who had been creating troubles after troubles in the worst possible way was now caught red handed. Sure, Kaminari said his apologies but a broken glass can't be fixed by just words, now can it?
"Kirishima... Please don't talk like that... At least you should know I couldn't help i-it... Come on, dude..." Kaminari said, looking at the red head with a helpless look.
"Sadly, you can't escape the consequences now... It's over for you." Jirou emerged from his left with a grim expression and the same heartbroken tone.
"Hey, um..." Came a new voice — quite nervous sounding — as a certain green haired boy stared at the climatic scene from the doorframe.
Upon hearing him, majority of the students turned their heads towards him. Surprisingly, they didn't take notice of the the fact that Midoriya wasn't already in the classroom.
He was known to wake up pretty early in the morning so it didn't set right that he was almost late to class as the bell was about to ring in a minute. He probably slept late so they brushed it off.
"What's happening here? What did I miss?" Midoriya asked nervously as he walked in the drama of his classmates.
"We caught the 'traitor'... It was Kaminari who's been stealing our phone batteries." Uraraka answered, walking up to the green head.
"I DIDN'T MEAN TO!" Kaminari defended, "I was feeling drained, okay?! I was sore from all the hard training and my muscles were aching! I didn't know if I feel sore, I'll suck empty your phone's charging! This was the first time, I swear!"
"For a whole week! An entire week!" Ashido exclaimed, "My phone mysteriously dies the moment I unplug it. And you couldn't say it was your fault, you traitor!"
Jirou added, "You could've just recharged yourself after training, you lazy dumbass."
"I'm sorry! I forgot!"
"It's your quirk! How can you forget?" Jirou asked, raising an eyebrow.
"Regardless, the court of darkness sentences you to charge our phones for the rest of your miserable life." Dark Shadow popped up next to Ashido who nodded in agreement.
"Ha ha." Kaminari gave an unamused laugh, "Not like I already don't do that."
"Plug in your phones, people."
And that was why Kaminari had 16 charging cables in his mouth when Aizawa entered the room. The electric blonde didn't need to charge his own phone and three other beautiful souls — Midoriya, Iida and Koda passed on the offer saying that they had hero training later that day and Kaminari couldn't already be brain dead by charging a bunch of phones.
The raven haired man only sighed before walking up to the lectern with a greeting.
The poor man was so used to these dramatic scenarios, he didn't even want to question anything.
Hoping that the class would listen in carefully, Aizawa began the homeroom. After taking the attendance and discussing some assignments, the raven haired man went on to explain the main topic for the day and expectantly for the next whole week.
Aizawa began, "So, as you are aware, today we will be discussing your upcoming training session. A joint training session since 1-B will also be with all of you... Well, sort of. Firstly, I need you all to behave — I'm looking at you, Mineta. Secondly, play by the rules. Forget one of these and you'll all have yourselves a month's worth of extra homework."
'Such a cruel man... Limiting the youth like that.' Mineta mentally cursed.
Iida, however, raised his hand and asked, "What exactly do we have to do in the training to need to follow specific rules?"
"I was getting to that," Aizawa replied, "The training itself is a series of scenarios you'll have to investigate with your separate teammates. The background is that there has been some disturbances with UA's important confidential reports — there is a traitor. It could be anyone. You, your teammate, another team, a 1-A student, a 1-B student, a teacher or someone else. It could be anyone and you'd be given a week to be exact to catch the traitor before they escape UA."
"All the teams would be given equal evidence material and time. You are not allowed to fight each other — looking at you now, Bakugou. No copying another team's progress in the case. And when you do come up with a conclusion, make sure you have everything to support it. The basic purpose of this training is for you to learn who to trust and who to keep an eye out for. Enhance your investigation skills; there will be a lot of times in your practical life as real heroes when you can't be depending on someone there to tell you who's the villain. A hero should know that firsthand. Am I clear?" Aizawa explained.
"Yes sir!"
"Good. I'll explain the teams and then the real thing will start for you at eleven. Consider the entire campus your training ground." Said the erasure hero before he passed some sheets to the students sitting at the front for them to distribute them to the one's behind them,
"All twenty students will be divided into five teams of four members each. The teams are specified with different colours which was Mic's idea so they're all probably meaningless. Don't go and start crying about how you don't like your assigned colour."
"WHY THE HELL AM I IN TEAM GREEN?! WHAT THE FUCK!?"
"Knew he'd cry about his assigned colour. Dammit, Mic..." Aizawa mumbled into his grey scarf.
"Kacchan, calm dow—!"
"You calm down!!" Bakugou yelled turning back to look at the green haired boy, "Actually wait, no. It's all your fault, shithead!"
"Silence!" Aizawa sent one red-eyed glare and there was no sound left in the room other than that of breathing.
He said, "Class B already started their part about a week ago and today is their last day."
"Wait already?!"
"And we're just being told now?"
"I knew something fishy was going on by the way they randomly appeared behind us everywhere."
"Why are we starting late though?"
"Forty students can't be investigating the same things at once. Twenty together are enough when divided by teams. They will end their part by ten — one hour before you start. Asking questions for further understanding of the situation is completely valid. And to end off their training, 1-B is going to interrogate you. You will get your chance as well but later."
Ashido raised her hand and asked, "Okay, but who is gonna be the traitor? For the scenario and all?"
"The traitor's already been chosen and given a whole script. If you don't know, it's not you." Aizawa replied. "And if it's not you; find who it is... It's a traitor hunt."
And so the homeroom concluded with that. The students chattered about their teammates and the 'fake' traitor until Present Mic showed up for his lecture.
Anyhow, the 1-A teams were as follows:
Team Red:
Tenya Iida
Mezo Shoji
