Y/n and Ryu were having a spar, the two blocked each other's attack being evenly matched in terms of hand to hand. Y/n then teleported behind him to land a free strike only for Ryu to parry the move flawlessly and punish him with an uppercut.

Ryu: "Shoryuken!"

Y/n was launched into the air and was knocked on the ground, he rubbed his jaw accepting a helping hand from Ryu.

Y/n: "Thanks, that was a good punish"

Ryu: "You teleport more often than you did before, I was able to use that knowledge to my advantage"

The two went to a bench and sat down taking a break sitting near Ken and Takeda.

Ken: "Wanna go train in the Emerald Forest later today? We can hit a noodle shop after"

Y/n: "Can't, I have to go on a mission with..."

Y/n sighed in annoyance.

Y/n: "...My old family"

Ken/Takeda: "WHAT?!"

Ryu: "Oh"

Y/n: "Yes I know"

Ken: "What is this bullshit?!"

Takeda: "Why them of all people?"

Y/n: "Ozpin doesn't want me and my family to have bad blood, but he doesn't know that the bad blood was already there and if they aren't careful it will be spilled"

Ryu: "If this is the case then we are coming with you no matter what Ozpin says"

Ozpin: "Is that so?"

The four then turned to see Ozpin entering the gym.

Ozpin: "Very bold of you Ryu"

Y/n: "My team are more like family than they ever were, if they aren't coming then I will not partake in this mission"

Ozpin chuckled.

Ozpin: "I wasn't planning to Mr. Hasashi, I understand that these skilled students aren't just your teammates but also your family and can work better with them. The mission is going to begin later this evening so be prepared"

The four bowed to Ozpin and went to their dorms to gear and rest up for the mission.

Y/n sharpened his Katanas, Takeda tested his bladed chains while Ken and Ryu played cards with each other.

Summer: "Did you three really have to-"

Y/n: "Yes"

Tai: "But they're not your-"

Y/n slammed the blade into the floor of the bullhead embedding it into the steel floor making Summer and Tai flinch.

Y/n: "Family isn't in blood, it's in heart. Something that none of you ever shown in my life, if you dare insult my brothers by saying that they're not one of my own then I won't aid you in this mission"

Y/n then pulled the sword out of the steel floor, he then continued to sharpen his swords while the other three gave one death glare to Summer and Tai before doing their own thing. The bulkhead landed onto their location, Y/n and his team moved to a forest where they were tasked to take out a White Fang base in the forest. There we met with none other than Qrow

Y/n: "Where is the headquarters?"

Qrow: "West from here, about an hour from"

Tai: "Qrow, do you have any intel on the amount of men?"

Qrow: "I found at most thirty men in the building, we should go now before more get here"

Y/n nodded before the team left to the location led by Qrow, the huntsmen navigated through the forest cutting though the leaves. Takeda then stopped Qrow.

Qrow: "What is it?"

Takeda: "I can sense something coming"

The seven warriors readied themselves, White Fang soldiers came from the bushes.

Y/n: "Machi busē!"(Ambush!)

Takeda sliced two soldiers in half using his blade whips and teleported behind four slicing their heads off with his whips, Ryu and Ken fought off the soldiers via hand to hand combat. Ken hit a fiery fist of pain while Ryu threw a fireball from his hand.

Ken/Ryu: "Shoryuken!/Hadoken!"

Y/n leapt into the air as kunai n chains spiraled around him, he pulled in two soldiers and finished them with a spiraling uppercut.

Y/n: "Shinryuken!"

Y/n pulled out his swords, he teleported to another four and cut them down swinging the blades through their guns and bodies like butter.

Summer swung her weapon taking out a guard one by one but was overwhelmed causing her to take a bullet to the shoulder, she felt the soldiers surround her feeling that it was the end for her...but her hope came in a the sounds of chains and a blur of fire.

Y/n: "Get over here!"

Y/n pulled two soldiers to him and slammed them to the ground, Y/n threw two individual hellfire balls at four soldiers and charged up a blue ball of energy and ignited it.

Y/n: "Shakunetsu!"

The ball of fire burned away the last three soldiers, Summer watched as Y/n lowered his smoking hands.

Summer: "How did you-"

Y/n: "Less talk, more get your ass to safety"

Y/n helped Summer up, once they were in a safe position he took out a first med kit and started working on her wound. He took out a bullet from her shoulder, he disinfected the wound and started wrapping.

Y/n: "Don't overexert your shoulder alright?"

Summer: "Y/n I-"

Y/n brought his hand up stopping Summer from speaking.

Y/n: "We will talk about this later but not now"

Summer nodded as Y/n finished wrapping her shoulder, the group rendezvous to a point and camped in. Y/n isolated himself from the rest of the group meditating suppressing the dark hado within him, the ball of ki in between his hands flickered between blue and purple. The ball then flickered into purple as his arms started to radiate a dark aura, Y/n focused more and more until.

Summer: "Y/n"

Y/n opened his eyes as the aura and ki disappeared.

Y/n: "What do you want-"

Summer: "I just want to talk"

Y/n: "You didn't even let me finish, I asked what you wanted to talk about?"

Summer: "It's been almost over a decade ever since you ran from home, I've missed you ever since"

Y/n: "...I know you've been through a lot when I was gone, drinking your sorrows away, getting into fights with Tai. I never thought that I can cause so much pain in my absence"

Summer: "How did you-"

Y/n: "My older sister Yang told me everything"

Summer: "O-Older sister?"

Y/n: "I've forgiven Yang for her past sins, but enough of that...I just want to ask one question: why?"

Summer: "I-I don't understand"

Y/n: "Why give me all those scars and bruises at the start of age five? why did you want to make me suffer? Just what in the hell did I do to deserve the pain that you, Tai and Yang deliver?"

Summer stayed silent as she looked down, Y/n was having none of it.

Y/n: "Answer me!"

Summer: "Because you're not my son!"

Y/n eyes widened, he took a step back from shock.

Y/n: "W-What?! What are you on about?!"

Summer: "After Yang was born Tai had an affair, after a year and nine months he brought you home lying that you were left in the streets. I took you in with loving arms thinking you as an orphan, but when I found out about Tai's affair I started putting all my anger out on you when I shouldn't have"

Y/n pupils dilated, he felt like he was going to be sick. Of all the hits he took in his life time this was the hardest to recover from, he started to stumble back causing Summer to catch him.

Summer: "I know it's a lot to take in Y/n, I'm sorry that I abused you instead of caring for you"

Summer embraced Y/n letting his head rest on his shoulder, Y/n started to loosen up as he closed his eyes accepting Summer's embrace. After all these years he finally felt a mother's love, his mother's love. Summer knew that she had a long way to go to get that title back, but she was willing to take her time.
