CHAPTER 8

Young-Mi's POV

You couldn't look him in the eyes - in the eyes of this perfect stranger who just happened to sit in front of you, and you shamelessly cried. You couldn't pinpoint why his presence did that to you but it brought a slight smile setting your feelings on fire to the point of crying. You were still shaken up because of what had happened to you earlier that day.

You could still feel his hand over your cheeks and how much it was aching right now, how swollen it felt – hence the hoodie. You hopelessly tried to hid under the hood but it was all vain. This uncomfortable silence became barely tolerable.

“Excuse my curiosity,” the man finally said, which made you look up at him, “did someone harm you?” His eyes were softly shining. He didn't seem to mean to harm you in any manner, or at least you hoped so.

So, silently, you softly nodded. “Are you alright now?” His tone seemed concerned about your well being and that was kind of nice coming from a stranger.

“I don't know,” you replied, hiding your face with your long strands of hair. “I hope it will be...”

“Are the people who made this to you here?” He looked around after he had whispered this. He was clearly caring.

“No, don't worry, my fiance isn't here,” you said, with a faint smile on your face.

His eyes opened wide and anger seemed to paint on his face. His clenched fists turned red and suddenly you felt very powerless in front of this man.

“I didn't mean to upset you,” you whispered.

“The one who's upsetting me right now Miss, is your fiance,” he dryly replied. “Whatever you had done, or whatever he had done doesn't justify his actions.”

“He thought it did and so did I,” you replied softly and immediately you felt your phone buzzing in your pocket.

Quickly, you took it from your pocket, dreading that he had called your mother and put the blame on you and that she was about to scold you, but instead, you saw his name on the screen. He was trying, he was trying so hard for you to come back. He didn't have the time to catch you before you went away. Now he was about to pursue you forever through the phone.

Your heart weighted a ton and it ached so much, even more than the bruise on your cheek. As you looked up, you saw the man in front of you with his phone too, sighing. He rolled his eyes, painfully too, before plunging his eyes in yours.

“If you reject the call, I'll do the same,” he offered. You looked down at your ringing phone and looked up at the man in front of you, and nodded. “Great, we'll both avoid uninteresting conversations then!” He happily clicked on decline and put his phone back in his pocket. “My name is Yoongi, and yours?”

“I'm Young-Mi,” you replied with a polite smile and put your phone back in your pocket after you switched it off.
