CHAPTER 6
Yoongi’s POV
<Continued flashbacks>
As soon as I gathered my thoughts, I called my mom. I had nothing on my mind, I just wanted to vent and tell her everything that had happened in the past thirty minutes. I hoped that I wouldn't disturb her too much with her job at the restaurant she had with my dad. When she picked up, I instantly felt a little relieved. It was as if someone had pressed a warm compression against my bruised and essentially bleeding heart.
“Yoongi sweetheart, what's happening?” she asked because she knew that when I was calling at this kind of hour something was going on. Generally, it was all about work and how everything was too much for me. But she always managed to get the best of the situation and I was able to move further.
“Am I disturbing you, Eomma?” I immediately asked. I wanted to get some comfort but at the same time I didn't want her to leave everything behind in order to help me.
“I always have time for you, my son. What's going on?”
“Well... My fiancee…” My voice was weak, unsure and everything I was not. I could immediately feel a lump in my throat as I began to speak. “She… she cheated on me…”
“Oh… I'm so sorry sweetheart. I'm so sorry to hear that. She didn't deserve a man as good as you, you need to keep that in mind.”
“What I especially need to keep in mind is that Kang Yoonjae isn't my friend anymore. His friendly attitude towards her wasn't only friendly,” I joked, all of that was bitter, no sweet, only bitter.
“HE DID NOT?!” my mother angrily replied. “I hope that karma gets both of them because they deserve to be punished for their sins!”
“Eomma,” I complained. She was already making me smile with her threats. She had this power over me and was able to make me smile no matter the situation I was in.
“No 'eomma' me, you boiled dumpling. You'll see the karma falling on them as they will get what they deserve,” she seriously said. “But enough of them, do you want to come back home? Take a few days off, you can work from here. You're back from a business trip and some time with your family in Daegu would be very good for you.”
“I don't know,” I hesitated, “the company needs me...”
“They made it without you for a week, they can handle their matters for another week,” she concluded, and with that tone I knew that I had to be home as soon as possible.
“Will you help me pick up a couple that invited me to their wedding this year? I can give them my reservations.”
“Son, I'd love to. Hurry back home and we'll do it together.” I loved my mom so much.
