First Day of Class
A week passed before Khaston returned to school. Knowing he would be lost, he waited for Yun. He waited ten minutes before leaving the comforts of his porch, and left, but not without Katie looking out the window.
After ten minutes of walking, the two arrived at the school. They split up, and went to their classes. Khaston arrived at the sex ed class, and saw the teacher: a blonde with large pink eyes, sporting a black crop top with a white vest over it. She also sported a black skirt, long brown socks, and black boots. If anything, she didn't look very close to her job.
Class began, and the teacher introduced herself.
"Good morning, students. I'm Kayla, but you can call me mistress until I say otherwise. I'm your sex ed teacher for the semester, and I'm quite pleased to see that this is an all male class, which means I can go into deeper measures. And no, I don't mean sex after class, I'm married for crying out loud."
The entire hour was everybody confused to what Kayla was saying about her life. When the class ended, Khaston walked to his next class, which was choir, a class he enjoyed. The teacher is a man with bright lime green eyes, and wore a yellow suit with matching pants.
"Good morning, class. In case you don't know me, or have forgotten, I'm Terry, and I'm the choir director. I also run the Battle of the Classes which take place every month, and it's really popular. Now, would anybody like to walk up to the front and sing?"
Khaston stepped forward, and faced the class.
...
Takes the anger out on another
Or is all the screaming just in his head
God, this feeling hurts like a mother
He'll push it down into the pit of his chest
He's got troubles, he don't show it
Till the ocean's overflowing
We've got old rules, we don't buy 'em
Now our voices can't stay silent
Why's it so hard getting it right?
Boys can cry
Girls can fight
Don't get stuck believing the hype
Boys can cry
Girls can fight
Knows what she wants but keeps it quiet
Bites her tongue so she don't scare them away
Rolls up her sleeves only in hiding
Builds her strength because she's hoping for change
Her desire, they won't hear it
She's got fire, won't go near it
Why's it so hard getting it right?
Boys can cry
Girls can fight
Don't get stuck believing the hype
Boys can cry
Girls can fight
What's gonna change their minds
It'll take some time, won't happen overnight, oh-oh
We're gonna change their minds
Leave it all behind, won't happen overnight, oh-oh
Why's it so hard getting it right?
Boys can cry
Girls can fight
Don't get stuck believing the hype
Boys can cry
Girls can fight
...
Khaston walked back to his seat, and saw Yun and several band members walk into the room, and then he saw another student come up.
You're like a light within the dark
Just like an angel (angel, yea)
You're breathing life into my heart
Just like an angel (angel, yea)
And you lead me through the darkest time
Gonna leave this world behind
Angel
Take me to a better place, where I see those brighter days
Angel
Let's seize the day and break away
My angel
You raise me up when I am down
Just like an angel (angel, yea)
I feel the love when you're around
Just like an angel (angel, yea)
And you lead me through the darkest time
Gonna leave this world behind
Angel
Take me to a better place, where I see those brighter days
Angel
Let's seize the day and break away
My angel
And when I cry you're always there to dry my tears
A single word from you can take away my fears
I hang onto you, baby, just you and I
You gotta spread your wings and fly
Angel
Take me to a better place, where I see those brighter days
Angel
Let's seize the day and break away
My angel
My angel
Angel

The student returned to his seat, and the class ended. Everybody went to get some lunch, and Khaston went to the training hall with Yun.
"You know, Terry is looking for someone to surrogate with his wife. I'm expecting you to ask what importance this has, and I said it because he hasn't been himself lately. Usually, he would have given us an assignment on the first day, and I heard he suddenly became sterile from Kayla spilling a potion on him meant for her cat last year."
Khaston looked at Kayla walking down the hallway.
Yun took out a wooden sword, and tossed it to Khaston. The two were swinging at each other, not having a clue on how to fight, and they put the swords back after a few tries. They went to the roof, and ate their lunch.
Khaston and Yun finished their food, and went to their next class, which was dance.
"The teacher in this class likes to intermingle the classes and teach many people at once."
The two opened the door, revealing a woman with sky blue eyes and hair wrapped into a long braid and ponytail. Her hair almost touched the ground, which made Khaston wonder how she didn't slip on her hair yet. She didn't notice the two yet, and kept teaching.
"Right, left, flap, flap, diva, down around. Flap, up, pump pump, pivot and two claps. Right, left, flap, flap, out and down, up like a star, and stop. That's it for the day, and you're all dismissed."
The students currently in the room left the class, and Yun entered, along with Khaston. Eventually, other students entered the dance studio.
"Wait. You two, stay here. I'm going to need help with this lesson to the newbies before you go to Kayla and the new teacher."
The two students came back. The students were a senior male with red hair and fuchsia eyes, and a sophomore male with black hair and eyes. They wiped the sweat off their foreheads, and drank some water, and stretched their black tank tops to get some air into their clothes.
Everybody watched the three in the center.
"I'm Emma, the dance instructor. These two men are senior Ren, and sophomore Lex. His father is a producer, so maybe you could end up going big sometime in the future. I teach dance and keeping the energy while singing. I'll provide an example."
Emma (Ren and Lex)

Emma slid a pass into Ren and Lex's pockets, and the two left the room. "Now, anybody want to try their hand at it?"
Yun volunteered, and slid off his shirt, wearing a black tank top underneath, revealing his light muscle. Emma sang backups.
Yun (Emma)
The season I spent with you
That day spreading right before my eyes
I want to learn from you
Memories are treasure
What if everything goes wrong?
I guess there may be such times
I don't know if you tell me
Sometimes (Sometimes)
In a fight (In a fight)
To become a (to become a)
But there (But there)
Any time (Anytime)
Feeling (feeling)
That friends are connected
The season I spent with you
That day spreading right before my eyes
Because I was able to save
And so I did my best
Someday I wanted to teach you this feeling
I want to learn from you
Memories are treasure
I like this kind of me
You're told that it has changed, right?
If you're a hump, it might be okay
Once in a while (Once in a while)
Anxious (anxious)
To become a (to become a)
But there (but there)
Anytime (anytime)
Nod (nod)
The two of us
I was looking for you
You, until the moment of that day I met
When you came
Even if we are away, we
I hope you look at the same star
What can you do?
The season I spent with you
That day spreading right before my eyes
Because I was able to save
And so I did my best
Someday I wanted to teach you this feeling
I want to learn from you
Memories are treasure
...
Yun bowed, and felt the pain of the light from above. He asked for the room to become dim so he didn't get his eyes damaged further, despite the fact that he had his shades on, or so he thought. Turns out, his shades fell off while he was dancing, and he felt like his eyes were burning. Not many people knew what Yun's face looked like without his shades, but everybody in the dance studio knows now. He took out a thin sleep mask and put it over his eyes while he waited for the chance to look for his shades.
After an hour of the lesson, students finally left to go to their next class, leaving Yun time to find his shades. With Emma's help, they managed to find the shades stuck in the ceiling, which happened during his flip while performing. He eventually got the shades down, and put them back on. He looked for Ren, because he had to go to his cooking class.
Khaston walked into his last class of the day, and saw the same man from the concert practicing his skills on his whip. The students didn't distract him, and watched him. When the rest of the seventeen students arrived, he finally stopped.
"Good afternoon, class. I'm Kas, and I consider it a challenge for you to learn about myself. I teach martial arts, and I know that all of you are new, so let's see what you have."
The students made their first move by trying to restrain the teacher. Khaston slowly backed into a corner, not wanting any involvement. He watched the attempt to take down the teacher fail, as the teacher had used magic to knock all of the participating students to the wall, which ended in them admitting defeat.
"That's how my sister taught her kids how to fight when they turned fifteen. Eventually, she managed to teach them to get better while they stay on that island. Not this guy."
Khaston wrote in his notes on Kas. He lived on an island for most of his life, and he is a rather skilled fighter. He looked at his hands, and saw thin gloves. He raised his hand, and was given permission to speak. He began to jump to conclusions about what Kas's background is.
"Umm, Kas, sir? Could you by any chance be one of those fabled Ultima Awakeners? When you mentioned islands, there were only two islands that cane to my mind: Awakener Isle, a possibly fictional place where many Awakeners, mainly Ultima, reside, and the Gladiatores Fight Club. Also, when you beat down the other students, that spell you used is said to be comprehensible only to Ultima Awakeners."
After Kas processed the question, he got nervous, but overcame it. "No, I'm not. I went there for vacation once. I caught on to the spells, and memorized the incantation."
Khaston had one more question to ask. "Every time I saw you, you were wearing gloves, which is known to be worn by Alpha and Ultima Awakeners on many occasions."
Realizing Khaston said everything, Kas still had to answer. "So? I just wear gloves. I also sensed that you didn't try to face me. Why is that?"
Khaston looked away. "I kinda sensed something off about you. When I saw you practicing at the gym, you weren't holding back. But when I saw you thirty minutes ago, it seemed like you were hiding something from us."
"Well, that's because you're only students on the first day of class. Do you really know what you're talking about?"
Defeated, Khaston didn't ask the teacher another question.
"So, does anybody have any questions before the day ends?"
After no responses except a lesson from Kas on fighting, classes ended for the day and he walked to the teacher's lounge. He leaned back, and sighed, noticing Emma walk in.
"It's only the first day. What happened?"
Kas tugged at his gloves. "A student found out a secret about me. I managed to deter him from finding the truth, but I fear that it will come out one day."
Emma sat down, and looked at Kas's keyboard. "I've never seen this brand before. Where is it from?"
Kas tried to remember where the keyboard came from. "I believe it came from an offshore manufacturer. Say, when you feel like getting through a tough feeling, what do you do?"
Remembering something she was told in the past, Emma answered immediately. "When I had to get through with something, it helped by singing about it. Meet me in the choir room in a few minutes."
Time passed, and Emma approaches Yun and the band.
"You four. Life doesn't belong to anyone, D flat."
Emma Kas
Why are you always messed up with yourself?
Without an escape, life is so hard
What kind of guy can you really see through?
Line up, come one and all for justice, highroad
Surely this is reality?
(Kiss my teeth and laughing out loud)
You have to match well, right?
Life that is not anyone's thing
Go on and chase that life you live
Don't give up chasing after me
I'll kick you so you maintain that life you live
Life that is not anyone's thing
This life is just going on
Don't be washed away
I'll choose
I cry and I also laugh
Sometimes I just want to throw out
Things that just don't work at all
Life that is not anyone's thing
Go on and live the life you stand
Don't laugh
I'm spoiled
Inside, it's all good or bad
I'm gonna go crazy because I'm always
Anxious and delusional I feel so bad
Anyone can be proud of laughter
Never run out like me, love me
But where are you happy?
(Like for like, follow for follow)
You're going to deceive yourself and live?
Life that isn't anyone's thing, that's what's waiting for you
I'm scared, blow it away, I'll keep watching out for you
Life that isn't anyone's thing, this person is running now
Have fun, and believe
"Win or lose, it's all up to you"
On a high wall that cannot he crossed
It seems to be crushed even if it becomes
Life that isn't anyone's thing
Life without a future
Escape and hide, turn to the front instead of standing hard
Life that is not anyone's thing
Go on and chase that life you live
Don't give up chasing after me
I'll kick you so you maintain that life you live
Life that is not anyone's thing
This life is just going on
Don't be washed away
I'll choose
I cry and I also laugh
...
Yun asked Emma about the choice of song.
"Eh? It's nothing. Khaston was just close to finding out something about Kas, which made him nervous."
Yun packed up his things, and left. Emma and Kas returned to the teacher's lounge, and began to wait for everybody. Terry and Kayla arrived, and so did the headmaster.
"The meeting has been called for an event held in a month. While people look for things to do for the battle of the bands, they could do something to make the atmosphere lively. Kas, maybe the students can try to find out more about you?"
Kas looked down like a teenager in their feelings, and responded nervously. "Is my past one of the seven wonders of this school?"
Everybody nodded. "If I must tell, then I must make sure you all are sworn to secrecy." That means you too, Kayla."
After everyone agreed not to tell anybody, Kas whispered his secret into everybody's ears, shocking all of the staff.
"Oh, my," was the only thing that came out of Kayla's mouth.
To show some proof, Kas closed the blinds, and temporarily tinted the door's glass. He surrounded himself in light, revealing his white butterfly wings, and opened a portal on top of the table, the other side leading to the ocean, and he fired a powerful energy pulse from his hand, the explosion launching water in all directions, spraying Terry and Kayla directly. He closed the portal, and the spell on the glass expired. He quickly transformed back so that he could avoid any questions from the students.
Kayla dried herself and Terry, and looked at the door. A few students who haven't left campus yet arrived, the small crowd having questions. The teachers left quickly with Kayla casting a spell to fog up the building. As soon as Kas and Emma were out of sight, Kayla let go of the spell. Terry followed Kas, the five staff members arriving at an apartment complex. There, they spent the rest of the day helping him hide his nature from the students, mainly Khaston.
