Chapter 2

(Snow's P.O.V.)

I panted quietly in front of my sparring partner, who was also panting, being tied for being the top shapeshifter in the class. We were both very equally matched, so the teacher called a draw before both of us passed out from the exhaustion of changing so frequently. I shook the boy's hand, smiling at him. "You were exceptional. I hope to be your sparring partner again." I said to him, as he replied, "Of course, you were exceptional as well. I would also like it if we sparred again."

I smiled, and nodded, heading to the locker rooms to change out of my sports bra and loose joggers. I pulled on my tight spandex and tank top, heading to my Advanced Strategics class. I have no idea how I managed to get into that class, but, I heard that more witches and wizards would be in that class, and not a lot of shapeshifters, so this should be interesting. I put in my earbuds, pressing on Sax on The Beach by Party Pupils and MAX, which is an actually nice song to listen to. I mouthed the lyrics, watching people's reactions to my dancing to the classroom.

I felt a tap on my shoulder and turned around to see Matt, who was grinning from ear to ear. "Hey, Matt! Do you how do?" I asked, purposely mixing my grammar up a bit, making him chuckle. "Not as amazing as this beautiful person in front of me, but pretty close." He replied back, a laugh bubbling up from my chest. We spoke about everything and nothing while walking to the class, surprising many people when I walked into the Strategics class.

I was given strange looks when they realized I was a shapeshifter, making me shrug and stick my tongue out at them. I sat near the front with Matt, and took out my earbuds, looking around the room for anything excentric to describe the teacher to me. There were some posters that I am for sure that teachers are forced to put on their walls by now but saw something that made me chuckle. There was this bird cage that held a pretty large bird that had a large beak and talons. This teacher is going to be a bit weird, I can tell.

Right as that thought crossed my mind, the bell rang, and a very short man ran into the classroom, where he had yellow eyes and white hair. 'A werewolf. How cool!' I thought to myself as he pounced onto the tall stepping stool in front of the classroom. "Hello, class! Yes, by now, you have realized that werewolves are supposed to be taller, but, my mother was bred with some elf blood, and you know how short they are." That drew a laugh out from the class, and he started with his lesson on hunting first.

I hummed as I jotted down some notes, but then he started talking about some magic in there, and, of course, I know these spells since my mother tried to teach me them, but I was never able to use them when my mother asked me to go out hunting for dinner. So, I jotted down my own ways of being able to hunt down for things, and then he asked something that I literally can't do. Showcase my magic level by doing the hardest spell I know. Is he fucking kidding me? I huffed, and gave a glare towards the teacher, running through my mind of the hardest animal it was for me to transform into.

As always, the smallest is always the easiest, the bigger ones, on the other hand, take a lot of inner energy and concentration, and I am only able to hold the form of a huge dragon for about two minutes before I black out, so, maybe I can go for something a bit more manageable. It was going to be difficult to not frighten anyone with my biggest form that I could manage without collapsing from lack of energy, so, I warned the teacher that the class might get frightened with my large creature, not helping with the fact that when I change, everything is white, with speckles of brown here and there. I was going to change into this giant tortoise-like creature that is called a Sleuth that I had seen wander around in the mythical forest, the one that no regular human can see.

For the shapeshifting classmates, we all went outside to kind of show off, I guess? Most of them were brown haired and not white-haired. When it came to my turn, I focused my energy into the shape I wanted, and, all of a sudden, all of them were smaller than me all of a sudden. They were not able to get any bigger than a tiger or bear, so, this really surprised them. This was really going to be a weird year.
