Chapter 1

(Snow's P.O.V.)
I shot up out of bed when there was a huge crash downstairs, making me grab my dagger that was always next to my bed and sprinting down the stairs with a war cry. When I stopped in the kitchen, I only found my mother next to a pile of pots and pans, frantically picking up said objects. I sighed, putting the knife away, and went back upstairs after checking on my mother to see if she was ok. My mother can only speak Italian, which doesn't bother me, but is inconvenient when other people are trying to speak to her. Luckily, I learned different languages for here while being homeschooled, so, yay me!

I pulled on a loose pair of shorts and a loose fitting t-shirt, pulling in socks and my tennis shoes. Today was my first day of being in an actual high school, so, I had to look my best today while not looking like I was trying too hard. I tightened my bandages on my chest to conceal my boobs, which I wasn't really in favor of. You see, I am non-binary, so, I try to conceal everything that I could possibly be placed into a box in people's minds. I don't know how I can interact with new faces, but, I guess there's a first for everything.

I waved goodbye to my mother, grabbing my bag and lunch, walking to the school. The school is named The Augmentation of Magic and Shape-Shifting High School, or TAMSS High School for short. People usually don't bring out the full name unless if someone new is in the town of Carson City, which is usually a foreign exchange student.

I changed into my cat form, my backpack becoming smaller with me, and my clothes fading into white and brown fur. I purred and started running down the street, the ringing of my bell collar catching people's attention. No, it is not easy to run on all fours, but it does grant me access into the yard of the school easily. Most people who did not have magic thought I was just a normal cat, getting to a place where I wanted, but, those who were also shapeshifters or had magic were able to tell that I was a shapeshifter. I usually hated being a threatening form, so, I usually take forms of domestic or harmless animals.

I have never needed to be in a more threatening from before, and I plan to keep it that way. Eventually, I did make it to the school, transforming back into my human shape, my clothes and backpack reemerging on my body, surprising the gatekeeper by how fast I switched between bodies. "Good morning! May I ask where the front office is?" I asked, showing off a smile, and the man replied, saying it was down the hall on my third left. I gave a thank you and went to the office to retrieve my schedule from the office.

I walked out of the door, only to find a match between two wizards, glaring at each other with wands in their hands, yelling spells, trying to get the other to forfeit to the other. I huffed, not very impressed, my crimson eyes drifting over the crowd with a menacing look. People seemed to feel it, and turned around, seeing my more than an annoyed face, and started shuffling away from the fight. The two boys didn't feel it until they noticed everyone around them was gone, looking me in the eyes with their green ones.

Normally, witches or wizards had green eyes, so, it was easy to tell that they were not alchemists or something along the lines of that. "Go before the principal or someone catches you two. They will only assume there was a small dragon here if you go now." I said, my voice cold, noticing the skid and fire marks on the white tile of the floor. They nodded quickly and ran down the hall to one of their classes.

I started towards my first-period class, Alchemy with Mr or Ms Fraggs. My mother adored alchemy and herbal potions, which is why she decided to try and homeschool that to me, before realizing I had her great-grandfather's shapeshifting abilities. I kept it a secret from her for 15 years before finally telling her, which is not very convenient for my mom, but, oh well. At least I know I'll get an A in this class. I made it to the class and took a seat next to a boy with black hair and green eyes, a wizard.

"Hello, I'm Snow Bellard, what's your name?" I asked, putting my hand out as a greeting. He looked up from his book of spells, and smiled, shaking my hand vigorously. "I'm Matthias Howard, but everyone calls me Matt! You have a pretty cool name!" I smiled and laughed a bit at his energy. "Well, it's not my actual name, but I prefer people using this one." The bell rung, and I fell silent, turning towards the front of the classroom. Today is going to be a long day.

(Hi everyone! I hope you all will enjoy this new book I'm starting! I will try to update every day! Goodbye for now!)
