Crowpaw swallowed hard, gazing at the grey cat. The cat jerked its head back, saying in a low voice, "Stop fighting, come with me." Too influenced by fear to do anything else, all three apprentices followed the command. They trailed slowly behind the grey cat, silent, eyes darting around as they looked for a possible escape. The grey cat seemed to notice this and paused in their tracks, motioning for the three to go ahead of him. The apprentices drudged forward, dragging their paws as they did so.

After a few minutes the grey cat hissed, causing them all to stop dead in their tracks. Stifling a laugh, the cat turned the group towards a cliff. The cat pushed the apprentices as close to the edge as the young cats would dare to go and then turned them around, saying, "What are your names?"

Dovepaw spoke first, her voice calm in spite of danger. "I am Dovepaw," she introduced herself sweetly, nodding her head towards the grey cat respectfully. "These are my friends, Crowpaw and Patchpaw." She gestured with her tail towards each of the apprentices to signify whose name was whose. 

The grey cat bobbed their head up and down. "I am Stormthroat," they purred.

Dovepaw smiled at Stormthroat, her swishing tail giving away her hidden anxiety in the situation. "So, then," she continued, engaging in conversation, "What do you want with us? Why're we here?" The grey cat shook its head and frowned, turning to face the forest which they had come from. 

"That's a secret. The only thing you need to know is that you aren't going home."

What happens next?
