''I guess you probably know, but you do realize I have feelings for you?''

Those words triggered something within my heart, the fastening beats and the foreign feeling arising in my stomach. My hazel eyes widened at the device in my hands, blinking to ensure that my sight was messing with me.. was what I seeing true?

He was an unknown stranger, someone I have never met before in my life. My eyes focused on the line, unable to look away from it. Even though we never met, he had already developed feelings for me?

''Chloe, are you alright? You've been staring intensely at your phone for at least ten minutes now.'' A hand was placed on my shoulders, causing me to jolt to the sudden touch. My head turned back quickly, facing whoever dared laid hands on me while I was smuggled away in the fictional world of the internet.

''You're staring me down like a prey, Chloe..'' The female laughed, lifting her hand off my shoulder. Her honey blonde locks dangled along with her small movements, from the slightest tilt of her head to the swaying of her body, framing her features like an angel descended form heaven. She was incredibly pretty, as said by the boys in my school. But personally, I think of that too.

And also, she was one of my trusted friends.

''Louie, you didn't have to scare me like that!'' I rolled my eyes at her, sliding my phone in hand into the pockets of my jeans ''I told you before, never ever bother me when I begin to stare intensely at my phone! You might see things you don't want to see!''

''Oh, are you drooling over pictures of your dear anime husband again, Kanuki.. was it?''

''It's Kaneki!''

Louie's lips pursed into a smile, placing her hands behind her back. She was clad in a bubbly yellow sundress that fitted her perfectly, with white heels that added a little cheekiness to her figure. Her pale skin glowed softly under the moonlight, adorned by a silver heart-shaped necklace.

She was the definition of perfect.

Me on the other hand, was the complete opposite.

Chloe Lynn, a rather odd last name to say, and I am 100% sure that I'm practically an insult to all the pretty girls out there in the world. A girl's hair would normally be expected to be well tended and cared for, but mine was completely out of the question. Of course, one wouldn't expect much from an Asian that has jet black hair, and it would be straight too.

Well, mine was fluffy. So fluffy that I have to keep tucking strands and pieces of hair away from my face. Honestly, I found it incredibly annoying, but that was how my hair was naturally, and I liked things natural.

My height however, was a little 'too much' compared to girls my age. I was roughly around 5'6 at the age of sixteen, and all my relatives that meet me during seasonal holidays would always say ''Aww Chloe you'll still grow at this age!''

Sincerely, I hope not.

And it feels weird when majority of your friends are like half a head or more shorter than you. You have to like, uh.. look down to talk to them.

''Now now Chloe, dozing off again are ya?'' Louie's voice snapped me out of my thoughts again, and in heels, she was still a little shorter than me. My toes wiggled in the converse I was wearing, glancing at my outfit a little, and compared it to Louie's. I was at a friend's party, whereas everyone showed up in fancy dresses and skimpy skirts, I wore straight cut jeans because my thighs ooze out like a flat pancake in skinny jeans, and a simple T-shirt that had a little cartoonish designs on it.

''Hm, maybe.''

''Come on, don't be such a boring and undeveloped character!''She chimed, knowing how I always complained to her about characters in certain animes that always had 'cringe-worthy' traits embedded in them. ''You're clearly not like that, so why don't we head over to where everyone is and enjoy the party?''

''You mean the food section, then I'm going to camp at the tables at the side, right?''

''Whatever floats your boat, dearie.''

''That makes me sound like a dork, now let's go..'' I let out a sigh, joining Louie as we walked together towards where everyone was crowded. Currently, I was at a friend's party, and he had invited people from my class to attend. All the girls in my class wore dresses, some even taking lengths to style their hair and put on an intense layer of makeup, resulting in eyeliners so sharp they could kill and eyes so gigantic that they'll probably pop out at any given moment.

And those girls that took such lengths to do that of course, despise those like me.

''Chloe, such a cute dress!'' One of them waved at us, their lips forming menacing smiles ''Where did you get it, the dollar store?'' That was enough to set the entire group of girls into fits of laughter, as Chloe lazily rolled her eyes at their joke ''Love your outfit too Miley, those purple and blue sequins so make you look like those LED lava lamps at night clubs.''

Before I could turn to see their reaction, Chloe pulled me away from them and entered the crowd, making us completely out of sight from the group of girls. I giggled a little, imagining the faces of disbelief they would make after being 'roasted'.

While we made our way through the crowd, I felt my phone buzzing in my pocket, and thats when my heart skipped yet another beat. Was it another text from Kris? Is he waiting for my reply? Or was he actually just joking about what he sent earlier? Those thoughts clouded my mind as my free hand moved towards the pocket of my jeans to get my phone.

When I was about to tap on the screen, someone bumped into me. I was too deep in thought to even realize my phone was literally flying out of my hands, towards the ground.

''W-Woah, easy there!'' The person reacted firstly, swiftly grabbing my phone that was on it's halfway journey to heaven ''You're never like that in school, something on your mind?''

''Well hello there Skylar.'' I replied almost nonchalantly, looking up to see my long-time deskmate holding my phone. He laughed a little, extending his hand that held my phone to me ''I believe this is yours, and please be more careful, I don't want anyone breaking things during my party.''

''Thanks, and sorry about just now. I just got kinda overwhelmed by the huge crowd.. you sure you're not the son of a millionaire? You're basically throwing the fanciest and classiest birthday party I've ever been to.''

''I'm just an ordinary doctor's son, and there is nothing else to that.'' He remarked, seeming to be amused by my answer ''You said you were here for the food, and its probably getting cold if you're going to continue standing here.''

''Oh right, see ya!'' With that said, I took my phone from Skylar and dashed towards the food section, trying my best to avoid bumping into anyone. The amount of people Skylar invited to his party was small, but having majority of them crowding at a small area out of the entire grounds used for the party, it was pretty hectic.

''There you are, I thought someone tackled you and threatened to not make another anime review post on Facebook again!'' Chloe appeared before me once I made it out of the crowd, holding onto a plate of food.

''Chloe, you know I don't do that. I only share funny videos and tag people in posts, I barely post statuses, nor reviews okay?''

''Meh, you're boring. Now come eat, I got us both a chunk of lasagna that people seemed to be swarming over!''

''Sure.''

Hello guys! This shall be the first author's note on this book!

It's Amnesiaxo over here, and you all can address me as Adyrin, your soon-to-be fabulous author //slapped

I literally typed out this entire chapter in like 3 hours, inclusive of scrolling through Facebook, googling for ideas and snapchatting my friends while doing so.

Overall, it was a fun chapter to write! I haven't wrote in such a long time, and this was definitely refreshing.

This is the first time I've decided to base this story off a little of my own self, extracting characters and events that has happened in my life and adding a little twist to it.

There are also some references to anime since I'm such a heck of a fan ; w ; so hopefully you readers will get it!
