Jeeps

"That's it, Peter. We lost it." Damon said between greeted teeth, shoving the gun back to his belt. He was somehow controlling the rage before it turned against him. "Where is the girl?"

       Silence.

       Bump bump bump bump

"Why you want her? To apologize?" Sebastian asked sarcastically.

"Don't play with me, Castle." Damon warned, threatening; and turned to Peter. "Where is her."

Filthy smirked evilly before his body dissolved right in front of my eyes. I panicked, already feeling shivers all over my skin, cold and sharp like ice thorns. "She is here..." Someone bodiless whispered in my ear, and two hands closed around my arms from behind.  I screamed, and it was a burned scream, that made my throat close in pain. He pushed me to the room and made me kneel by his feet.

Damon gave a long blink before looking down at me. "You have a strong voice, child."

He squatted in front of me so our eyes were on the same level. I held my breath and released it a second later because it was impossible to dominate myself.

"Oxygen is going to come pick you up," he said "but you won't tell them we've met. Am I clear?"

He had never been so close to me before; his forehead was flecked with small drops of sweat, as well as his nose. And I don't know how or why, I felt like discovering the color of his eyes. This sudden impulse went way bigger than all goosebumps my body was having to bear.

His eyes were brown. I blinked- and saw the lake surface in there; liquid and dangerous and cavernous, impossible to know what lied behind.

Damon was the kind of guy who made me wonder why beauty combined so much with evil.

He raised an eyebrow and asked one more time if he was clear. My mouth opened but no sound came out.

"You're so foolish." He got up and started walking to the door with Peter on his heels. As soon they stepped out Sebastian pulled me up from behind. He turned my body to face him, holding my arms to keep me steady; but I was still shocked.

"Who is coming to pick us up?" I asked.

"Oxygen..." He answered, confused. "Damon said Oxygen is coming."

       "When?"

       "I don't know."

       "What we do now?"

He looked at me, concern stamped on his face. "I don't know."

•••

We left the shack, Sebastian first, and I right after breathing on his neck. I'm not supposed to say this but Damon should come more often to make Sebastian be protective and patient like he is now.

We were in our way through the empty lawn that skirted part of the terrain when we saw the dots of light on the road. One car would be something strange in the middle of all that nature, so imagine a lot. They were coming so fast it seemed to make the ground quake.

"Oh my God," I mumbled, caught by surprise. "Oh my god oh my god!!!"

Relief and excitement filled my body. He looked at me, smiling. "Our ride is here."

There was no fences or walls separating here from there, and although it was already dark we could run together, to the edge of the road. The jeeps stopped when we stopped. I couldn't see who was inside, all windows were black, everything the same. I felt my hand slipping into Sebastian's. Maybe they are not who we think they are.

The first driver turned the motor off and the doors opened in a heartbeat. Oliver Snowfields went out, holding his phone, and right after came a squad of people with guns and walkie talkies. I gapped at them in disbelief.

"How could you find us?!" I automatically released his hand and felt blood coming up my cheeks.

"We've got a little help." Oliver's eyes glanced at Sebastian and smirked. Like old partners in crime- which made my heart bump. That wasn't possible... Sebastian... No, Sebastian never told me he had contacted them, he would never hide such a thing from me.

And I thought Oliver didn't like Sebastian.

Sebastian, who, by the way, wasn't happy at all. He was studying Oliver, frowning slightly; his mouth a thin line. There was no bright in his eyes, something strange because Sebastian's eyes were usually pure bright. He hasn't called anybody. So who did?

       "You, Angel." Oliver said.

"What?!" I gasped. I could feel my own jitters.

He sighed. "I'm so mad at you."

       "W-why?"

He took a step forward. "Do you know what you have done?"

I shook my head. He walked more until we were only 3 feet apart; then reached for his other pocket and took something kinda yellow and rotten. A chicken bone.

"MORE LIGHT PLEASE!" Oliver shouted. The jeep's headlights went brighter, illuminating everything but his face. He landed me the bone. It was disgusting but I examined it. There, right in the middle, were carved some words.

        Do you dream of murder?

"What is this?" I sounded hight pitchy. My eyes tried to find Oliver's but his face was against the light, his body merely a shadow. That image remembered me of Vince.

        Oh no.

I think he saw my expression changing to something terrified.

"Yes. Remember when I said my brother had been arrested because he tried to kill Doctor Gene? There we are, you nailed it."

I didn't know what to say, what to think. Vince was going to murder Gene? Why in the world someone would murder Gene? Why a man like Vince needed a chain to murder a kid? My questions were so lucid, so easy; simple things Oliver could just SAY. Yet he stayed there, watching me. Blaming me.

"Angelina," I heard Sebastian's voice by my side. "don't believe in anything he says."

Oliver frowned, showing he's gotten surprised and offended by those words, but I pumped Sebastian first. "Why not?"

"Because of what the couple said. We agreed to trust them, remember? And besides- Vince saved your life."

"Vince wants to kill a child, Castle. The child who saved YOU." Oliver snapped.

That's when they began a battle of arguments. It was incredible how they looked so different from each other. But I didn't know who was who.

"Shut your mouth unless you want to say something useful, Snowfields." Sebastian said.

       "Useful? Like what"

"Like why you are still hiding the truth about the couple from Angelina."

"Hahah don't play the saint... you are lying to her too."

"I'm not lying! I just wasn't sure about it until now. And if you don't tell her, I will."

"Oh yes? I don't think so." Oliver looked angry. "Think for just a second, Castle. We don't know how Angelina is going to react. Think about the consequences first"

"What a lie! You didn't tell because you are afraid she might never trust you again!"

"Angelina will never stop trusting me and she knows that. I can have some defects but I'm sure of one thing: I'm not the bad guy."

Sebastian twisted his piercing. "Maybe not yet."

Oliver's eyes went murderous. I couldn't see which shade of green they were in because there wasn't enough light. "Angel," he said. "You are coming with me."
