"What are you gonna do? Ask him again?" Renjun asks but couldn't help but snort afterwards, "remember the last time you did that?"

"Low-key sounded like Jaemin got rejected or something because he fucked it up–" Haechan comments with a snicker.

The said boy rolls his eyes at him and sighs, "still, what else do I have to do just to make him cooperate with me in these projects?"

"Give him a good fuck, duh." Haechan deadpans and earns a smack behind his head, making him yelp in pain. "What?! I'm just saying– and it's true!" He defends himself.

Renjun shakes his head in disbelief as he turns back to Jaemin, "good luck and don't fuck."

"Not you too–" the blond haired boy face palms while listening to his two best friends cackle at his misery.

Jaemin sure is asking himself why he's doing this– why he's in front of Jeno's house gate with two guards staring down at him, waiting for the high school student to come closer.

Well, it all started just earlier at school, Jaemin was looking for his project partner everywhere and asked about three people on Jeno's whereabouts.

But the brunet boy was nowhere to be seen– not even close to any hookups he currently has. No kissing, clinging, or any of that sort.

Maybe because Jeno wasn't at school and had already went home early.

Jaemin only found that fact out when he crossed paths with Haechan after who knows how long he spent trying to find someone.

"Maybe he already went home, dumbass. If not, maybe hanging out with some guy outside of school." Was what Haechan told him with a snort, clearly amused.

And you might be thinking, why not ask him tomorrow then?

That's what Jaemin's asking to himself right now too.

He's convincing himself that he just wants this to get it over with and if even if they can't or don't want to start right now, atleast Jeno's been informed about Jaemin's intentions.

He hopes.

Besides, Jaemin doesn't want to face Jeno in school in a similar situation like last time.

He's just thankful no one really talked about it, which kind of surprised him because Lee Jeno is usually a daily news.

But still, only his encounter wasn't gossiped about.

He's not complaining though, just confused.

He stares at the big front gates of Jeno's house, gulping when he glances at one of the guards on his left, looking at him with a strict look.

It's not like it's his first time here, but he guesses the guards either don't recognize him or because Jeno isn't with him this time.

Plus, maybe the brunet boy didn't tell them anything more about Jaemin and who he was.

Hence why they're doing their job as Jeno's protectors and acting like the high school student is an intruder or some sort.

After much chaotic thoughts, Jaemin decides to just go ahead and go for it. He's already here, and all he needs to do is inform Jeno about having to cooperate.

Stupid damn project.

He takes a few steps closer and almost freezes when one of the guards stood up with a handheld transceiver, as if calling for backup.

What the hell–

"Uhm, excuse me." He clears his throat as he approaches guard number one, the guy on his right.

The guard hums in acknowledgement, but his hands were folded behind him, posture straight and professional.

"Is Jeno home?" The man glances at guard number two before nodding at Jaemin.

"Yes, do you need anything?" He asks.

Jaemin sucks in a breath and exhales, "I'm his partner." His response made the two guards look at him– like really stare him down, as if wanting the ground to swallow him.

"No shit Sherlock, you made it sound weird." He could hear Haechan's annoying voice.

"I'm his project partner, I mean." He rephrases once he realized the misunderstanding. "I just needed to ask him about our school projects."

A long hum was heard from the first guard before him and guard number two looked at each for a moment. He gave a small nod which earned a sigh from the latter.

Guard number two took out his walkie-talkie and said some incoherent words Jaemin couldn't really focus on as he felt like he was getting caught stealing something.

"All this for visiting Lee Jeno's house? What bullsh–"

"Follow me." Guard number two announces, making Jaemin flinch a little on his spot due to him spacing out.

It was then he noticed the big gates were now opened, allowing them to enter the area.

He adjusts the backpack strap on his right shoulder and does as told, following the man entering the Lee residence by a few steps behind him.

Once they've arrived at the front door, Smithers, if Jaemin remembers correctly or else it would've been really embarrassing, opens the door.

"Oh, hi again! Jaemin, right?" The old man greets with a kind smile. The said boy nods and scratches his nape awkwardly.

"Don't worry, they already told me why you're here." The old man said, reassuring him a little before Jaemin sighs when he adds on, "but Jeno unfortunately doesn't know yet."

He looks at the guard and nods, "thank you for your service, you may go back now. We can handle this." He shoos him away as he steps aside.

Jaemin enters the house feeling awkward, sure it isn't his first time being here, but he's still a little lost.

Okay, maybe "little" is an understatement.

But you get the point.

"Jeno isn't in his room right now," Smithers said which made Jaemin raise a brow. "He's at the backyard, by the pool." He says more.

The blond haired boy blinks and could only wish he doesn't have to see Jeno sunbathing or something.

He came him for their school projects, nothing more and nothing less.

He already wasted a lot of time coming here, so he doesn't need to have Jeno annoying and flirting with him again.

He doesn't have a choice but to follow Smithers leading him to the huge backyard, where Jeno is said to be there unbeknownst to the brunet boy himself.
