𖤈 Chapter Sixty-Nine: Support
"Don't tell me she's at it again." Amy sighs deeply as she crosses her arms.
Hakim shrugs his shoulders, "give her a bit of time and some air, she really needs it right now." He replies in a gentle tone.
Unusual for him towards Amy and vice versa. But at times like this, it is one of those moments where they aren't against each other and have to work together.
Jaemin looks up and flashes him a look, "ah, no wonder she skipped Biology and Literature class this morning." He comments out of the blue.
"She actually likes Biology class," Amy perks up. "So you know something is wrong when she decided to willingly skip that class."
"I hope she's feeling better, she said her parents had crossed the line again last night." She soon adds.
Nodding off, Hakim plays with Jaemin's blue pen and mumbles. "She probably wants to party later or something, just somewhere to go. Away from those people."
"You better go with her."
"I know, that's why I'm already mentally preparing myself for what's about to come." Hakim says in a silly tone to lighten up the mood.
Luckily it has both Amy and Jaemin chuckling at him, the latter shaking his head as he looks around, spotting a certain brunet boy.
Grinning widely, he ignores Amy's nonstop teasing when she sees the look he has on. Hakim backing her up as well with a drawled out whistle.
"Hey, love." The brunet boy smiles and takes a seat beside his boyfriend. Getting a kiss on the cheek as a greeting.
"Hey, Jen."
"Lover boy number two has finally showed up," Hakim snickers and leans back against his seat. "What took you long, hm?"
"Stuff got caught up in the Arts room," rolling his eyes, the brunet boy then waves it off in nonchalance. "But no worries, that's fixed now."
"By the way, I spoke to Patrine." He then brings up, having everyone to raise their eyebrow in curiosity.
"In the Arts room?" Amy assumes.
Forehead creasing when he looks at her, the brunet boy shakes his head. "What? No," making the other three more confused than a second ago.
"She was at the Science Lab," he says. "I decided to ask her what's in her mind right now and let her rant to me."
"Which party is she going to?" Amy asks straight to the point, already knowing what Patrine's next habitual move is.
Just not exactly where.
"I don't actually know who's party it is," Jeno replies with a shrug of his shoulders. "But luckily it's not a huge one, it's like... Low-key. Almost a get together."
"Should I still go?" Everyone immediately snaps their heads to Hakim and gives him a deadly glare.
"Joking," he smiles nervously. "I'm just... Not sure if I can actually be there."
"What the fuck do you mean? I thought you were already in!" Amy shrieks in panic and annoyance.
Jaemin signals her to calm down and lets Hakim speak up, "look, as much as I want to be there to look after her, my brother asked if I could help him with the store later."
"I didn't really thought about it much and that's why I was sure earlier, but then I remembered it's only him and one other person..."
"You should go." Amy sighs at him, "go with your brother and help him with the store."
"What about Patrine?" Hakim says with a worried look, "wouldn't I be a shitty boyfriend if I couldn't even accompany her to the party?"
"No?" Jaemin gives him a weird look. "What makes you a shitty boyfriend is if you can't be supportive of her, but you are."
"You not being there at the party she's going to doesn't make you a bad boyfriend, you literally have an understandable reason."
Nodding at him, Hakim smiles faintly at the blond haired boy. "Thanks, man."
"You guys have me anyways," Amy smirks triumphantly. "God, I'm such a good friend." Exaggerating her words as she flips her hair, having Hakim scrunching his face as he cringes.
"Call backup if you need to."
"You're saying as if she's about to fight with someone, what is this? Some street fight she's attending?" Amy sasses.
Scoffing, Hakim flips her off. "And you're saying as if you don't know her."
"Has Patrine actually fought someone at a party before?" Jaemin whispers to Jeno, haven't been informed about this story... Until now.
Jeno flashes him a calm look and kisses his jaw softly, "a few times. But that's only because they started it."
Humming in understanding, Jaemin listens to Amy and Hakim back at it again with their bickering.
Reminds him of two certain people.
He wishes this dumb drama could all be done soon, and they will be friends again. All of them.

"Do you want to hangout tonight? I can sleepover if you want?" Jaemin suggests, low-key hoping for his lover to agree.
However, it seems like it's a bad timing as Jeno pouts at him in response. "I'm sorry, babe."
"No it's okay," Jaemin says with a small smile. "What's the holdup?" He asks while gently playing with Jeno's hair.
The brunet boy sighs and scoots closer to him on the bench, "Amy seems to have underestimated tonight's plan, but she doesn't want to admit it."
"Hakim asked if I could be there for extra help, he didn't force me, just suggested it." Jeno adds.
"Ah, I understand," Jaemin mumbles.
"I'm really sorry, babe."
"Don't be sorry, you have to be there for Patrine's sake, I totally understand." He reassures his boyfriend with a small kiss on his creased forehead.
Jeno continues to frown and reaches out for Jaemin's free hand, playing with his fingers as he mumbles.
"I'm also sorry for not being there recently, I know I have been late and stuff, probably acting weird. But I swear, things for me are just... complicated."
To his surprise, Jaemin kisses his crown and says, "you don't have to apologize. You did nothing wrong."
"Remember what I said to Hakim?" Jaemin brings up, getting a small nod from Jeno a beat later.
"That goes for us too."
