Chapter 21
After half and hour of coaxing, Stiles managed to get Layla to come with him and go home. The whole way there she kept whispering to herself, to the voices she heard inside her head. She just wanted this voice to stop, wanted Stiles to make it stop. But Stiles couldn't stop something that didn't exist, so he just tightened his grip on the steering wheel and told his twin that he would protect her. All he knew was that whatever she was experiencing had something to do with the doctors, and what they had done to her.
Unfortunately for him, the only person who even had a clue what was happening to her was Theo Raeken. He knew he'd have to go and visit Theo, because although the two teens hated each other, they both loved Layla. Stiles hated to admit that someone as twisted as Theo could love anyone, but he did, and he loved Layla. And for some twisted reason, Layla loved Theo. But if the two boys did nothing, they would lose Layla forever.
They say that every cloud has a silver lining, and considering that Stiles was in the middle of a storm he was more than glad that his silver lining came in the form of werewolf and Alpha, Scott McCall. He was glad to have his best friend back, and in the situation he was in now, he was more than certain that he would need Scott, because Layla was not only Stiles' sister, but Scott's also, biological or not. And so, it was time that Stiles told Scott everything. The two now sat in Stiles' jeep Roscoe, which had been resurrected from the pile of scrap metal it was destined to be. Sighing, Stiles began to speak.
"Scott, can I ask you something?" Stiles asked.
"About this weird serial killer guy that burns children's flesh?" Scott snorted, looking at the leather bound book in his hands.
"No. About Layla." Stiles replied, deadpan end.
"Layla? Is she okay? I haven't seen her in a while, why?" Scott spoke, closing the book, his attention fully on Stiles.
"No, she's not okay." Stiles admitted. "She hears voices."
"Like Lydia?"
"No, well kind of." Stiles sighed, not quite sure how to describe it.
"What does it tell her?" Scott questioned, watching as Stiles clenched his jaw.
"I don't exactly know. She just told me that it makes her do things she doesn't want to. But, last week she felt nothing. And Scott I mean nothing. Dad and Lydia were in hospital, but she told me that she felt nothing." He exclaimed. "And then, well I don't think she did it intentionally, it was supposed to be more of a dig, but she compared her situation to when I was the nogitsune."
"What, like you mean she's possessed?" Scott asked, being completely serious.
"Honestly, I don't know. Theo said that the dread doctors had been trying to reincarnate the Chimera goddess, and that Layla was the test subject for it, and I wonder if they succeeded."
"Stiles, I don't know what to say." Scott sighed, shaking his head. Layla was his little sister, they had know each other most of their lives. And to think of anything ever happening to her was unimaginable.
"You don't know what to say?" Stiles echoed. "I don't know what to do!" He exclaimed, blinking back the tears as his voice broke. "She's my sister, my twin. Hurting her would be like hurting me. And now she's losing herself Scott. And I don't know what to do. She hears voices in her head for godsake."
"We'll find a way to bring her back Stiles." Scott promised, smiling softly at his best friend.
"I hope so Scott." Stiles mumbled. "I really do."

Layla sat on her bed, staring at the mirror on the wall in front of her. She barley even recognised her reflection at this point. Her short blue hair lay untamed at the top of her head, but that was not what was worrying. Her hazel eyes were darkening, almost black at this point. And they were wild, madness swirling within them, waiting to be unleashed. Her skin was chalk white, and bags were under her eyes from lack of sleep. She didn't understand how one minute she felt invincible and the next she felt like a porcelain doll.
The voice inside her head was always there, battling against the small voice telling her to fight back, to not give in. Staring at herself now, Layla could feel the madness creeping in, could feel it sludging through her veins. Maybe that was why she succumbed to the emotionless void that tempted her, because then she could ignore the madness, ignore the urge to just curl up in a ball and cry like an infant. Because she no longer knew who Layla Stilinski was anymore. She felt weak, and she hated that. She wanted to feel powerful.
" You want to feel powerful? Let me in and I'll show you real power."
There it was again, the voice. It was always there, always taunting or shouting or tempting. "No." Layla mumbled, shaking her head. "No."
Layla heard the clicking and wheezing of the dread doctors behind her, and oddly she didn't feel any panic. She felt their presence behind her, but she didn't turn round.
"You want to know if I'm still a success." It was a statement, not a question. "Well, whatever you freaks have done to me, if your final goal was to kill me then I think you're on the right road. Definitely on your way to success."
"We do not want you dead Layla Stilinski." The robotic and monotonous voice came from behind her.
Layla whirled round, glaring at the dread doctors. "Then what do you want? Why me? Why did you do this to me?"
"You were destined for this."
"Bullshit." She snarled. "You really have no boundaries, you robotic, immortal assholes. You toy with my life and then you order Theo to pretend to love me."
"We do not toy with any life, we only improve. As for Theo, he was to observe your progress, he made his own choices." The doctor wheezed.
"Well until I'm drowning in a pool of mercury that I have spit out onto the ground, you don't need to be anywhere near me." She scoffed.
"Just let her in." Was the last words the dread doctors spoke as they faded.

Natalie knocked on the door of the Stilinski household in search of the eldest child. Layla answered and looked blandly at Natalie.
"What?" She questioned, leaning against the doorframe.
"Layla, I was just checking to see how you were. You didn't visit Lydia in hospital." Natalie smiled softly. "And I was wondering how your father was."
"I wouldn't know how he is." She shrugged. "I haven't seen him."
Natalie shifted uneasily, not quite sure what to say. "May I come in?"
"If you must." Layla huffed, opening the door wider as she turned and walked into the house. Natalie followed and sat down at the kitchen table as Layla put the kettle on.
"No, I'm not going to hurt her." Layla grumbled as she reached up and pulled two cups out of the cupboard.
"Layla, what did you say?" Natalie asked.
"Nothing." Layla mumbled as the kettle whistled and she poured the water into two cups, adding the milk. She pushed one towards Natalie and started laughing.
"What's funny?" Natalie asked, worry creeping in.
"Just something the voice said." She replied, the words slipping out of her mouth before she could stop them. Natalie set her cup on the table and looked at Layla. "You hear voices?"
"Well one really, she's a pain in the ass most of the time." Layla huffed. "You think I'm crazy." She noted upon seeing the facial expression upon her best friends mother.
"I think you've been through a lot." Natalie corrected. "And if you were experiencing said thing, you would be entitled to help."
"What, like the help Lydia's receiving?" Layla snorted. "You sent her to the nut house."
"Eichen house will help her."
"It'll kill her." Layla corrected.

Natalie looked at the form in her hands, her throat dry like sandpaper. Before her lay a signed form to Eichen house. As Layla's father was currently in hospital and her mother dead, Natalie acted as the temporary guardian. It was in her best interest. Eichen house could help her, they could get rid of those voices. She handed the form to the doctor, who smiled in approval.
"We will collect Miss Stilinski in the morning."
Layla Stilinski was taking a trip to Eichen House.

A/N
Hello, so yes I know the last couple of chapters have been a bit crappy but now that Layla's in Eichen house I can alter things and take my time. You'll see different sides to Layla in the next few chapters and it'll be really important as her story progresses.
