News and gossip had always spread around Beverly Hills extremely quickly which Luna usually found extremely entertaining but not when she was the center of it. It also didn't help that Mrs. Baker and Luna's mother were best friends so when the Baker woman had heard the news of her son getting someone pregnant, her first instinct was to contact her best friend who was also the mom of her son's girlfriend.
Which caused a chain reaction, Peter had overheard this news, immediately running straight for his stepdaughter's room and trying his best to find out if she was pregnant or not. Which she was not. Instead, he found her crying her eyes out into the stuffed animal Jordan had won her on their second date, and from there, everything else was revealed. Luna had confided in her stepfather telling him that Jordan had knocked some girl up just weeks before they had officially gotten together.
So as days passed, she stopped crying her eyes out and instead channeled her frustrations into something else. Her art. She locked herself into her art room blasting an array of sad music and painting her little heart away as she attempted to get over what had happened between her and Jordan the night of the twin's birthday party.
Liv swung the door open to her friend's art room with Spencer hot on her heels, both of them had been concerned about how quiet she'd been lately. "Asher warned us it was crazy in here."
Luna dipped the brush in her hand into a large paint can and groaned. "Well, Asher needs to learn when to keep his big ass mouth shut."
"He's worried about you. We all are," Spencer spoke. "According to one of your teammates you haven't been to cheer practice. And I know that's true because I haven't seen you at practice either."
She turned to face them, with her arms crossed. "I'm fine, Mr. and Mrs. I fix people!"
"You don't seem fine!" Liv argued. "I mean you've been locked in here blasting all of Drake's saddest songs. That seems like the opposite of fine."
"What do I have to do to assure you guys that I'm fine?" she questioned.
"You can stop painting for one," Spencer negotiated. "And for two, you can come with us to the cafe, oh, and don't forget you have to cheer at the 7-on-7 game."
"I'll probably be benched," Luna shrugged. "Coach is a total hard-ass when it comes to missing practice."
"As long as you're there that's all that matters," Liv glanced at her paint-stained clothes. "Now, get dressed we're going to the cafe."
"Only to pick up food," Luna bargained. "I really want to finish this."
"Fine," Liv gave in. "But, only because the painting is...amazing!"
♡♡♡
Liv gave her friend a sheepish grin while Spencer took a couple of steps back, noticing Luna's menacing stare once they arrived at the cafe. This was obviously some sort of plan Liv had come up with to get Luna to talk to Jordan considering the team was having some type of celebration inside.
"What the hell, Liv!" she hissed. "This is a celebration for the team!"
"You know what..." Spencer took a glance inside. "I'm just gonna...I'll see y'all later."
Liv placed her hand on Luna's shoulder. "You need to let Jordan explain himself. Just give him a chance."
As they stood face to face, Simone had approached them which made Luna even more upset than before.
"I'm just gonna head inside and grab my order," Luna calmly stated. "You can talk to this mess of a person. But, I want nothing to do with her."
"I heard that!" Simone shouted after her.
Luna let out a scoff, shaking her head as she pushed the doors open. Jordan immediately spotted her after Spencer had informed him about what was going on.
He quickly ran over to her, grabbing her wrist. "Can we talk?"
"You have 2 seconds to move your hand off my wrist," she warned. "I'm serious, Jordan."
"You blocked my number," Jordan's shoulder sagged as he detached his hand from her wrist. "Just let me explain, Luna. Please?"
"I'm just here to get food," she spat. "So stay out of my way. When I want to talk to you, I will."
She pushed past his shoulder, leaving him with a sunken expression as she grabbed the food from the takeout counter.
"So, Jordan's ghosting Simone. You know the girl you just called a mess?" Liv ranted. "She's pregnant and alone. You should give her a break."
"Damn, Olivia! Stay out of it," Luna snapped. "You don't get to tell me how to feel. You're my best friend. Just be here for me. I get it, Jordan's your twin so you have to be on his side. But, I don't need you telling me how the fuck I should feel and making me feel like a shitty person. I don't know if you noticed but I'm going through something, too. So when you wanna be a better friend, call me!"
Liv's face fell, watching her walk off as the cafe had quieted down a bit and everyone turned to look at the aftermath of what just happened. Luna was serious considering she only called Liv by her full name when she was either serious or pissed off and in this instance, she was completely pissed off.
♡♡♡
In an attempt to return to life as normal, Luna had attended the 7-on-7 game ready to cheer on the team. But, as predicted, her coach was not happy with how many practices she missed leading up to this specific game that was apparently super important. So, Luna was benched, she walked up the bleachers and sat in between her mom and Liv who were for some reason sitting beside each other while Mrs. Baker was on the other side of Liv.
Maria glanced at her daughter with a sympathetic look. "Benched?"
Luna nodded as she stuffed her pom-poms into her duffle bag. "I was expecting that. I've been sort of MIA."
"Have you spoken to Jordan?" Laura took a look out at the field and over at her son. "He's really been beating himself up."
"I wish I could beat him up," Luna scoffed, earning a nudge from her mom. "Sorry. But, uh, no offense, Mrs. Baker, I don't want to talk about Jordan."
"Leave her alone, Mom," Liv whispered, quietly.
Luna looked at her best friend, feeling awful for the way she had spoken to her the day before, and rested her head against her shoulder. "Sorry for yesterday. I shouldn't have spoken to you that way."
"Don't apologize," Liv frowned. "I should've been considerate of your feelings. I'm sorry that I tried to push you into talking to Jordan, right now. I can't even imagine how you're feeling right now."
"So...friends, again?" she teased.
"Best friends," Liv corrected.
"Hey," Luna perked up, pointing at the field and at a tall darkskin guy. "Do you happen to know who that is?"
"That's the guy Spencer's dad brought here from Nevada," Liv informed. "His name's Darnell. Why?"
"I think I'm no longer heartbroken," Luna joked. "Wow, what the hell are they feeding the boys in Nevada?"
