"Why, why, why...? That's all anyone asks anymore."

"Well, what makes then ask?"

"What makes them ask is the effect of the cause. Once it affects them, they decide to take action. That's the thing that confuses me, it doesn't affect you and yet you still worry." He stood up, heading to the kitchen.

"Dude, how do you not get it?" He stopped in his tracks at Alfred's question.

"What do yo mean?"

"It may not affect us but we still care about you."

"Why care?"

"Because you're family." Francis gave a bitter laugh and kept walking. He was mumbling something about needing a drink.

Laying there, aimlessly staring at the ceiling, was hell. Despite how tired he was, he just couldn't gain the motivation to at least trying to sleep. Either way it was the same. He'd still be tired and in hope of just being able to rest. Sleep really didn't matter anymore. It was almost a way to pass the time.

Almost. That damn word can describe so much he's done. Almost this and almost that. When will it all actually happen?

As much as it annoyed him, by this point, he didn't care. It was normal. Whatever normal even is...
