The Leap Of Faith

"The only people who get upset about you setting boundaries are the ones who are benefitting from you having none."

Siddhartha closed the book. Sitting on his hospital bed, he reflected on his final moments of goodbye, the moments just before he was shrouded under the gloomy veil of eternal darkness.

He was wrong, he was wrong to listen to the voiceless whispers in his head, the faceless monsters who reigned supreme since his teenage. The spirits who urged him to have a final control over his body simply because he was incapable of controlling anything else.

He smiled.

It was at last of content, not contempt. It made him realise what a fool he was. He remembered thinking of light at the end of the tunnel, he saw that light. During the final moments before his failed suicide attempt, he had perceived that light. It didn't show despair, melancholy, it didn't speak of defeat and dejection.

It spoke of life and life itself!

A gust of wind came from the open windows, the weather being cheery and bright, the sunlight illuminated the white interiors. It flipped the pages of the self help book that lay closed on his lap. On it a quote attracted his attention:

'She is a beautiful piece of broken pottery, put back together by her own hands. And a critical world judges her cracks while missing the beauty of how she made herself whole again.'

But Siddhartha was above it all, the criticism that is. He had made it a point to be forever guided by the rays of hope which now assured him that yes, he was worth recovery. It asserted the fact that healing was the only way which could terminate the conflict he had with himself.

The bandaged slashes across his wrists spoke of the scars, but he knew better.

After all, the wound is the place where light enters you.

Siddhartha picked up his phone, after much request the doctor had given permission. Without an ounce of hesitation, he scrolled through the contacts until the name of Dr. K Mishra flashed across the screen.

Pressing the call button, he waited for the person to pick it up...

Honestly, I kind of feel wasted now. It was really hard to write because I was touching sensitive topics.
