A Wonderful Future (Author Insert)

I am currently making my way to the pre-school to pick up my daughter, Yoko.

I usually walk as it isn't far from our home, saves on not needing to take the car every time.

Not that I ashamed of our humble little Audi A4, but in general things are so close, so what's the point of driving?

Anyways, I soon reach the school and the teachers immediately recognizes me and tells Yoko that her father is here.

Me and my beloved wife decided on "Yoko" as it was pretty close to my beloved's name, just with an Y instead, and spelling it a little different. But we could've gone for spelling her name "Youko", but I think people gets it either way, heh.

"Had a fun day today?" I ask my daughter as she cheerfully nods.

"Pappy, look what I drew! It's you and mommy!" she tells me as she hands me a drawing, and indeed there was me and Touko, drawn to the best of a child's ability.

"You got down perfectly with how beautiful your mom looks." I tell her as I give the drawing back to her and pat her on the head, with her grinning happily at me.

It's no wonder that she really is just a big mix of both me and Touko. She has the eyes and hair colour of me, but her personality and smile are very much like my beloved wife.

Me and Yoko begin walking home, and I decide to give a call to my son, Yoko's big brother, Sam, who got his name somewhat from my name, but it's more just the first letter that is the same.

He should've ended for today as well currently, if I follow his scheme right. Saturdays are usually early as well on that, so we all will be able to come home at the same time.

As he picks up, he says right away that he is just about to take the bicycle home, so he is coming soon.

"See you then, dad." he tells me before we hang up, Yoko by my side, being very happy go lucky of her as usual.

"We can stop by the swings if you want to." I tell her, but she shakes her head.

"No, I wanna go home and watch more of pappy's Godzilla Blu-Rays!"

"Aah, but of course, Yoko. Which one do you want to see today?"

"The one you told me where Godzilla fights aaaaall the monsters!"

"Final Wars, eh? Sure thing, I will bring it out for you to watch." I tell her as she happily jumps around, excited over seeing yet another Godzilla movie.

Godzilla, old buddy, you never fail to entertain a new generation of people everytime, do you? Not complaining though, my daughter being such a big kaiju fan is awesome, and she is loving the various Godzilla toys I gave her that I owned.

My son also does like same things as me, to an extent, but games are still in his league, which is nice, as he catches up faster on gaming news and tends to tell me for hours about new releases, and I love every minute of hearing what our dear son has to say...

"Yoko and Sam might have some features and personality traits from me, but they are very much more like my sweetheart husband~"

I soon begin to remember when Touko told that to her friends that previously used to be her bandmates in Morfonica, before they decided to permanently disband a few years back. But again, they remain very good friends and in good terms, but they just wouldn't have the time due to everyone having families now.

It wasn't as tearful as expected when the last show by Morfonica was played, because all five had already accepted the decision about that the band shouldn't come into the way of family. Even Rui agreed to it, despite her often being the serious one, but even so, her heart is in the right place.

I was of course there when they had their last show. Heck, I unexpectedly got invited up on the stage by my beloved Touko, who I were only engaged with at the time.

She just openly kept on saying how much I mean for her, and how I am already the best husband ever despite us not having had a marriage yet at that time.

But I weren't complaining, as I told everyone as well how much Touko is the best to have ever happened to me.

I remember how we just soon after began making out, still on stage, with everyone cheering and clapping their hands on us, even Mashiro, Nanami, Tsukushi and Rui joined in.

As those memories fills my head, I soon focus on the present again, and we are closing in to our home.

Sam, as I had predicted, came home as soon as we came home, having picked up the latest issue of one of those gaming magazines I did use to myself follow, but I kinda stopped due to internet having everything.

But if Sam likes reading stuff in magazines rather, I will not stop him at all.

Another ringing is heard, and there comes Touko as well on her bicycle, having finished with work today as well.

"I'm home everyone~!" Touko says as stops and gets off the bike, before Yoko runs up to hug her mom.

"Hi mom. Dad, I will walk inside at once, is that okay?"

"Yeah sure, Sam, just go ahead." I reply to him as he walks inside, takes off his shoes, before rushing upstairs.

Meanwhile, Yoko decides to show the drawing she made to Touko as well, and she ends up loving it as well.

"Aww, you made your father so cute, which is very accurate to him!" Touko tells Yoko as the latter nods happily as the former smiles brightly at me, with me returning a smile.

We head inside, and take off our shoes as well, of course. Will just get dirty inside otherwise, and you do like that in Japanese homes, used to that from my home country, so nothing that took time to get used to.

As I promised to Yoko, I bring out the Final Wars Blu-Ray I have on the movie shelf in our living room, and give it to her. She knows how it all works, so I don't have to intervene much more.

"And now the kids are full up with their stuff as usual." Touko says to me as she giggles while we are making our way to the kitchen.

"Heh, yeah, but they deserve it. A week filled with all sorts of stuff, getting to chill down a little is always good for them."

"And you and I get to chill as well~" Touko replies as she kisses me on my cheek, with us both laughing a little afterwards.

"Hmm, should we order something home perhaps today? Just a little treat really." I ask Touko as she nods.

"Yeah sure! The kids will love that after all, haha~!"

So with that, we order some sushi, a family sized menu at that, so we all get to have it.

Afterwards we head to the living room where Yoko is currently watching Final Wars while playing with her Godzilla toys. Me and Touko sits down at the sofa together, while we both smile at

"Pappy, look! It's Gigan!" she says as she points at the TV and happily jumps up and down. "Gigan is so cool, but he is veeery evil! Godzilla need to fight him!"

"Yeah, let's see if Godzilla manages to beat Gigan." I reply to her as she nods before sitting down with me and Touko.

"I will sit with pappy this time, I don't want to sit between mommy and pappy and separate them!" Yoko says as I raise my eyebrows, while Touko laughs.

"I mean, it's all fine to sit in between mom and dad-"

"No pappy, sit with mommy!" she objects, before she has her attention on the TV again to continue watching the movie.

"Alright, you win, Yoko." I soon reply as I chuckle while Touko lays her head against my shoulder and we decide to also watch the movie together with Yoko.

For the rest of the evening, we all spend time eating together the sushi we ordered and having a blast.

After dinner, Yoko also heads to her room to play with her toys, which all are Godzilla and Transformers. Dolls are not up her tastes at all, she likes way more such things I like, but again, not complaining, it's only a blast to have kids that has your interests as well.

While the kids are upstairs, me and Touko sit together and cuddle in the living room while the news are playing.

"Oh yeah, Tsukushi came by my work today. She had bought presents for our kids, I think about giving them those tomorrow~"

"That's wonderful and thoughtful of her. She really supports our family a lot, considering she is the god mother of both Yoko and Sam."

"And she is a good friend to us two, so of course she is willing to help at times~"

"Yep, quite true." I reply to her as Touko hugs onto me even more, with me returning it with holding even tighter around her. "Love you, Touko."

"And I love you too, Stephy, my wonderful husband~"

...You will forever be the best thing to have ever happened to me, my wife, Touko Kirigaya.

(This one is very self indulgent, but to be fair, this whole book is just self indulgence and me being in love with Touko Kirigaya, so hope you all enjoy another silly one-shot from my vast mind of ideas haha)
