After that, we headed to lunch. Since I had my lunch packed, I just walked over to a table and sat down. Usually, I sat at a table with a bunch of guys but today I was by myself. I was eating silently until Mason walked over and sat with me.

 "Hey Oliver!" He yelled (even though he was like five inches from my face), his eyes still an unusual bright green. "What are you doing eating by yourself?" I looked up at him and gave him another smile. "I just didn't feel like talking to the guys today." I said lightly.

 He eyed me suspiciously but nodded. "Okay then... Hey, I need to talk to you later." Mason said looking down at his food. His cheeks were a little pink.

 "Later? Why not-" I was cut off by the bell that signaled lunch had ended. I looked up at Mason but he was already gone. It's weird how he's there for a second but then gone the next.

 The rest of the day was just as bad as the beginning. I set off a smoke alarm in science, I kept failing my trumpet solo in band, I tripped and cut my arm in PE, and I lost my work for reading. After what felt like a million years, the end of day bell rang.

 I was quickly pulled to the side into a bathroom by Mason. "I needed to talk to you, remember?" Mason asked, shutting the door. "Of course, I wouldn't forget." I answered back. He nodded and stared at me with his bright green eyes. 

 "So... I-I really like you, a lot... M-More than a friend!" He exclaimed quickly looking down. I laughed. "That's a good one, Mason." I said through laughs. "Y-Yeah, funny..." he said looking up at me, his eyes a brighter green than before. I smiled at him. "Well, I have to go. Bye Mason!" I yelled to him, running out of the building to get home.

 I walked outside and over to the crosswalk. The weird thing was... Mason was standing in the middle of it, staring at me. Wasn't he just in the bathroom at school? "Hey Mason," I started walking out after him. "You shouldn't be out he-" he was gone. 

 I looked around at saw him on the sidewalk smiling creepily at me. He waved. "See ya soon, Oliver!" He then pointed to my right. I quickly looked in that direction, only to see a car speeding at me.
