Chapter Eight

Once again, I woke up to my alarm clock showing the same time and date. June 6th, 2016, 6:13am. I groaned and sat up, my head throbbing. I rolled out of bed and grabbed some Advil from a cabinet in my bathroom. I quickly popped the Advil into my mouth and swallowed it without drink... Only to choke on it two seconds later. I hate pills.

After that embarrassing incident, I pulled on my school uniform and walked downstairs. Dad reading the paper, mom trying to feed Zoe, Zoe screaming... Everything seemed normal as it had been each morning the day started over.

"Good morning, Sweetheart!" My mom once again said happily. "Only three more days until school's out for the summer!" I wish, but I'm probably just going to end up dying and starting the day over again and again. "Morning, mom." I replied, grabbing a banana muffin off the table. "I'm going ahead to school, love you!" She walked over to me and hugged me. "I love you too, Sweetheart."

I smiled hugging back. I can't remember how long it's been since my mom and I had actually hugged. We slowly pulled away and I walked out the door.

Once I was outside, I noticed that the sky was a light grey and cloudy instead of blue like it had been when the day started over last time. "What's going on..?" I mumbled to myself quietly. I hurried to the school.

As everyone rushed to class, I stood outside waiting on Mason. Five minutes went by and still no sign of him. I checked my watch. "7:47... He should be here by now..." After waiting ten more minutes, I decided to leave and go to his house.

Walking back through the dark part of the city, I didn't feel as nervous as I had before with Mason. It could be because I actually knew where I was going this time. After a few minutes, I arrived at his house.

His parent's cars was gone, so they weren't there. "Oliver what're you doing here?!" I flinched and looked up. Mason was glaring at me from his window. "Well?!" Mason yelled. My God he's so emotional...

"Can I come up?" I asked calmly. "We need to talk." He quickly shook his head. "Nope! I'm busy!" He replied. "Doing what, exactly?" Mason growled. "That's for me to know, and you not to know." I sighed. "Alright, I'm coming up."

"No you're not!!" He yelled and ran off somewhere. I rushed to the door and pulled open, surprised it wasn't locked. I walked inside only to see Mason pointing a gun at my head and snarling.

I noticed that he was wearing a business suit and his usually messy blonde hair was now combed back and nice.

"Leave. Now." Mason growled out. I took a step closer. "I will... But before I do, we need to talk." I said quietly. He put the gun down. "About what?" He asked. "About the watch." I answered.
Mason shook his head quickly. "No! I told you to forget about that!!" He yelled. Suddenly, the ground started to shake. The room started spinning quicker and quicker.

"M-Mason?!" I looked over to him only to see he was unconscious on the floor. I stumbled back, only to land on someone.
They grunted and pushed me off. I looked up at them. The person I landed on seemed to be a boy about twelve, he had very bright blonde hair and electric blue eyes. He was at least two feet shorter than me and was dressed in a casual t-shirt and shorts.

"Hi, I'm Caspian, and your friend there is a thief."
