...
He felt the sweet taste of her lips on the tip of his. Her sweet perfume lingered through the air, engulfing his senses. Shawn closed his eyes, focusing himself on the present moment. For he only ever had now.
The black lace hung around her hourglass figure perfectly, as her tanned skin glowed under the warm light. Her long black curls were pulled back into a messy bun, a few loose ringlets hanging. Her neck acted upon a focal point, its slender frame and structure never failed to leave Shawn's imagination running wild with unhelpful thoughts.
Oh how he dreamed of kissing that neck of hers, feeling the way her skin would leave a tingle on the tip of his lips. The way she would tilt her head just the slightest to allow him more access, muffled moans filling the silent whispers that remained in the air.
He felt caught in a trance, a moment in time that you couldn't let go of. All her ever wanted was right there in front of him.
"Alexis." He whispered.
Her frame acted similar to that of a silhouette, the curve and frame of her figure fell dark as the background was a common white.
Shawn waited for a response, any movement, any reaction.
None.
"Darling?" He continued.
The beauty of her face soon appeared as she tuned around. She held a small smile as her bright blue eyes glanced towards him. She scanned his presence for a brief moment before walking toward him.
She placed her hands on his chest, feeling the beats of his heart beneath her hands. Shawn found it hard to breath, especially when she was this intimate with him.
"I would like to go down to the park." She muttered.
Confused Shawn briskly pushed away from her embrace, stepping aside as he ran his fingers through his hair. A nervous habit of his.
"The park? Why?"
"It's cold, and refreshing. I admire the way the snow falls from the sky and melts once it greets the heat of your skin." She said.
Shawn's eyebrows furrowed on his forehead.
"What do you mean?"
"Something so delicate and precious can fall gracefully from the sky, though once it reaches a negative force it simply fades away with the notion of time." She said.
"Alexis, listen."
He pulled her into his chest again, the familiarity of her never failed to bring a smile onto his face. He held her tight, he wouldn't dare letting her go.
"Is everything okay?" He asked, stroking her hair.
A tear fell from the safety of her eye, falling down her cheek. She noticed the way the tear shifted to warm then cold once it dried against her skin.
"I feel broken." She said sadly.
The sound of those words caused Shawn to even pull her closer, he felt like the only one protecting such an innocent soul.
"Broken? What sort of broken?" He asked.
"The kind of broken that can't be fixed."
"... The broken that demands for attention but only becomes a silent scream." She added.
"Here, here." He whispered, kissing the top of her head.
"I'm scared of loosing what I've already lost." She said.
"I can assure you darling you've got me." Shawn stated.
She pulled away from him, rubbing her tired eyes with both her hands.
"... thank you." She muttered.
"... sometimes it's the ones that are right in front of you that are worth keeping."
