sky high
"Are you sure this is a great idea?" Shawn asked, examining the sky rise building before him a displeased expression plastered across his face.
"Yes! You trust me don't you?" Sasha asked, her long brown hair flowing naturally in the wind behind her.
"Of course I do, it's just..."
"Shawn." She said.
"Sash?"
"You need loosen up a bit man." She chuckled.
"Man? What man?" Shawn laughed trying to conceal how nervous he felt.
The cool wind danced on top of their skin, causing goosebumps to form across their body. They both flinched at the sudden rush of wind, bringing their arms closer toward their chest for warmth.
"See...let's get out of here, it's so cold!" She squealed, rocking her body side to side.
"Anywhere but there!" Shawn said, pointing his finger at the sky rise building in front of them.
Sash pouted her lips before she bit the inside of her cheek in frustration, she was sick of Shawn's constant denial.
"You're always impressing others Shawn, why not do something for yourself!" She yelled, her hands waving in the air trying to emphasis her words.
She paused, a simple silence replacing her place although her mind flooded with words to say aloud.
"...Looking good, saying the right things, you name it!" She blurted aloud, her hands resting gently on her hips.
Shawn felt the truth in her words, causing him to question himself and his own behaviours. The past flashed past him, all the recent encounters of cheesy smiles and fake people consumed him. Sasha was right, he'd been holding on too long, it was time to let go.
"Sash, when did you become so savage?" Shawn muttered softly, attaching his eyes with hers.
"Just a hidden talent." She said playfully, followed by a cheeky wink before she stood up leaving Shawn alone on the ground.
"Oh so you're going to leave your poor boyfriend here are you?" Shawn yelled.
"Why not, there's nothing holding me back?" She said followed by a small giggle as she flipped her hair purposely behind her, swaying her hips as she walked away from him.
"Are you serious? It's so cold and plus it's illegal as fuck!" He yelled to her.
To Shawn's relief she turned around, her arms crossed with both brows raised.
"Shawn, no one will know!"
"More like every security camera!" He spat, clenching his jaw impatiently.
Something inside him yearned the feeling of freedom, but he somehow couldn't come to face it. He'd dreamt of this day, being with someone special, facing the world together. But maybe it was all just a fantasy.
"Shawn." Her voice hung in the air, its presence surrounding him beckoning him to follow.
The wind howled through the city, faint noises of drunk people laughing excessively faded into the background noise.
"Now or never." She spoke, lingering on her very last word.
"Now." Shawn replied, picking himself up as he tried to reach her.
He ran to her, the wind rustling through his curls causing them to appear slightly messy. His jacket was zipped up all the way in hopes to keep him warm. His scent hung in the air, a subtle musk scent trailed around him. Sasha's arm reached over to him, feeling his strong torso.
"fit as fuck."
She thought, grinning wildly at her own thoughts.
"What you smiling at?" Shawn asked.
"Oh nothing."
...more like everything
"...come on spit it out." He insisted.
"Oh honey I will, once we reach the top." She said, with the slightest tone of a whisper falling from her lips.
Shawn lent his body closer to her, feeling the heat between them increase. He enjoyed the feeling of being close to someone he loved, enjoying their unique presence beside him, guiding him every step of the way.
...
"Wow." She whispered under her breath, her vision scanning the city lights that lay ahead of her.
Shawn's hands found their way to her waist, the warmth from his hands crept upon her skin sending tingles down her spine.
"What a view." He whispered into her ear, his hands remaining tight on her waist.
"Heaven really is a place on Earth." She said, her voice dropping to a hush whisper.
The sweet scent of his cologne filled her senses, as she nestled her head into the crook of his neck for comfort.
As their bodies were together Shawn felt the odd feeling that they were being watched, before he could say another word his brow raised in question as he noticed the formation of what looked like a security camera in the corner of the room.
"Sash." He whispered.
"What now!" She said impatiently, turning her head around to face him.
"Shhh! The camera, over by the door." He whispered, gesturing to where the camera was.
"What about it?" She replied, with a confused expression.
"Are you crazy!" He said, furrowing his eyebrows in distress.
His heart thudded in his chest, small beds of sweat were already beginning to form on his forehead, he shot a glance over to the camera, observing the peculiar movements of the lense. Before another moment could pass a red light shone from the camera, mesmerising them both. They exchanged glances before a loud siren soared through the building, frightening them both immensely.
"Shawn... What the fuck is going on!" Sash yelled over the siren.
Shawn meet her eyes, those same comforting eyes of hers that made him run wild.
"I think we better run." He said, grasping her hand in excitement.
