Several weeks had passed. Ever since that happened I started getting awkward everytime I'm with Caleb. I should've not gotten my hopes up for him to remember me. You're so dumb Maxene, of course he doesn't remember you, he had a coma what do you expect.

I only have the chance to talk to Caleb when Andrew's there or when Andrew starts the conversation. I want our closeness back, I want our friendship.. Our relationship back.

"Alright that's all. Class dismissed." Our professor said before walking out of our room. That was our last class for this afternoon.

While I was packing my things, I suddenly felt someone tapped my shoulder. I looked at my right and saw Ava smiling at me.

"Let's check the billboard outside, mukhang may pinagkaka-chismisan sila doon," Ava pointed outside the door.

I laughed. "Marites."

"Huh?! I am not a marites!" Ava blurted out that made me laugh more.

In the end, Ava started laughing also, I think she realized that she really is a marites. Lumabas kami ng room tsaka pumunta doon sa may billboard. There were a bunch of people but not a lot. Me and Ava went near the billboard so we can read the announcements properly.

" Good morning Luxems! Club hunting is now open starting today. Our university has different kinds of clubs that may be your taste. Puwede kayong pumunta sa main building upang makita ang mga club na puwede ninyong masalihan. 'Yon lang and thank you.

- Dearest Directress "

That announcement got my attention the most. It made me have the urge to join a specific club, how about a club that is related to sports? Volleyball club? I should go to the main building to apply and ask for more information about that.

"Omg may club hunting daw!" Ava gasped, then her gaze went to me. "Are you going to join some clubs?"

"I'm still thinking about it." I said.

She replied me a laugh until I noticed her looking behind me. I tilted my head and turned around to see what got her attention, suddenly my head bumped into someone's chest.

"Oh! Gagi!" The person immediately held my waist.

I looked up and saw Andrew! My eyes widened and immediately walked back getting off his grip. He smelled kinda nice though.. Okay what am I thinking. I shook my head off and felt someone bumped my hip. I looked at my right and saw Ava smirking! What is she smirking for all of the sudden?

"The girls behind us are gossiping about you two." She grinned then looked at Andrew.

"Ava." I warned her.

Then she laughed and gestured us to continue talking. I just gave a sigh then crossed my arms on my chest before looking at Andrew. Ano kaya gusto nito.

"What do you need?" I spoke.

Andrew looked at me then a smile was plastered on his face. I furrowed my eyebrows because he was just smiling at me until he showed me a flyer.

"Naghahanap kami ng pwede maging manager sa volleyball team. Both boys and girls. I remembered that you're a former volleyball manager from your old school, yeah? Kaya naisipan kong iapproach ka," He explained.

I held my chin while reading the flyer he's holding. It made me kinda happy that I can pursue my volleyball career here, I thought I won't be able to continue it after highschool.

"Okay lang if ayaw mo, sino ba naman kami para magkaroon ng manager—"

"I'll accept it."

"Huh?"

I looked at him, ignoring the fact that he was joking about me not accepting his offer.

"I said I accept your offer." I repeated.

His eyes beamed with joy and excitement. This guy seriously, ever since I started hanging out with him I noticed that he gets excited to small things, despite him looking like a delinquent at first sight.

"Tara pakilala na kita kay Coach sa gym! Nandoon na rin siguro yung iba kasi may training kami mamaya," He said.

I nodded and looked at Ava who was watching us talk, the smile on her face since a while ago didn't even fade.

"Dalaga na anak ko," Ava acted like she's sobbing while wiping her tears.

"Ava I told you—"

"Oo na! Oo na! Sige na, you go with Mr. Kai na! Enjoy kayo," She laughed again, but she flinched when Andrew suddenly held her hand and was about to kiss the back of it. Then he stopped when his lips are already an inch apart of Ava's hand.

"You can call me Andrew instead," He smiled.

Ava's eyes widened then immediately snatched her hand away from Andrew. She furrowed her eyebrows then suddenly hid behind me, I heard her growl lowly.

"I don't like him." She said that only me and Andrew can hear.

Andrew bursted out of laughter, that also made me laugh softly. I looked behind and pinched Ava's cheeks.

"You're so funny you know that?" I giggled that made Ava pout.

"Jusko mawawalan ako ng hininga sa sinabi ng kaibigan mo," Andrew said while laughing as he placed his hand on top of my head.

Ava glared at him because of his hand, I sighed while smiling then slowly took off his hand from my head. Then her gaze went to me.

"Sige na nga! You can go na but I still sense bad energy from him." Ava huffed in defeat. "I'll head home na rin." She added.

I chuckled. "Okay okay, mag-iingat ka."

Ava hugged me before waving goodbye, she said that she'll message me and Thea when she gets home. The fact that she gave Andrew a glare first before leaving the building, this kind of personality Ava has is amusing.

"Tara?" Andrew asked.

"Let's go."

We went out of the music department and headed straight to the gym. While we were walking Andrew kept asking me questions. I think it was too quiet for him.

"Alam mo, ang cute ng tono mo kapag nag-tatagalog ka."

I immediately looked at him with furrowed eyebrows, he was smiling. I'm still trying to get use on speaking Tagalog because I stayed in Japan for years, I always talk in English and Japanese there.

"Nga pala, paano ka naging volleyball manager?" He asked while his hands are placed on the back of his head.

"I was actually a volleyball player back then, my position was a setter." I said while kicking small pebbles as we walk. "Until, I got into an accident that made my elbow and knee injured. I got desperate from winning so.." I stopped talking when I realized Andrew is not beside me anymore.

I stopped walking and looked behind, he was there standing while looking at the ground. I tilted my head and slowly walked up to him.

"Okay ka l—"

"You got injured without telling me?!" He blurted out dramatically that made me flinch.

I immediately looked around if there was people. Is this one of his tactics to humiliate me again?! Why is he shouting all of the sudden. When I saw that no one was staring at us, I gave a relieved sigh and glared at Andrew.

"You're such an idiot, how am I supposed to tell you back then? I still don't know you that time and.. Is it really required to shout?" I hissed.

"Bawal ba akong mag-alala?"

His words made me stop speaking. Without noticing, he walked closer as he held my chin making myself look at him, making our faces few inches apart. I looked at his eyes and realized our position, I softly pushed him distancing myself from him. He laughed afterwards.

"'Yun oh kinilig," He teased while laughing even more.

This is the first time that someone made me irritated so much! I looked at the ground and touched my cheeks, they were heating up! I swear to all the Gods, I like Caleb not him!

"Ang pula mo sa totoo lang."

I heard his voice again. It made me look infront but he wasn't there, until I looked behind and saw him already walking, leaving me. This guy! I never hated someone like this before!

I gripped the sleeves of my uniform out of anger then ran to catch up on him. Andrew just teased me until we arrived at the gym. Noong nakadating na kami, sinabi niya na mauna na raw ako sa loob dahil magpapalit muna siya ng damit.

I was about to go inside the gym but I heard someone shout.

"Watch out!"

My arms immediately covered the upper part of my body. Suddenly I felt someone's touch around me and heard a thump.

"Zeph, please be careful with your spikes when practicing.. Especially on the wall." The person said.

"Sorry Caleb!"

Wait, Caleb? I opened my eyes and looked at him, I immediately pushed him softly distancing myself from him. What is up with people being so close to me today. And why did I pushed him again?

"Is that how you thank someone?" He looked at me with his brows furrowed.

"Huh?" I looked at him.

"By pushing me." He said before getting the ball beside him.

He looked pissed! What am I going to do? I didn't mean to push him like that, pati nga ako nag-tataka!

"Thank you I guess.. And sorry." I looked to a random direction to avoid eye contact.

He just gave a sigh then spoke. "You're Maxene right?"

My gaze went to him and nodded.

"Oh? Anong nangyari?" I heard Andrew.

I looked at my left and saw Andrew already standing there.

"While we were warming up, Zeph's hit on the ball got a bit strong. I saw someone coming in that's why I immediately ran to them so they wouldn't get hit, and the person was her." Caleb pointed at me.

Andrew looked at me that also made me look at him. He then suddenly held my face making me flinch. What is he doing?!

"Okay ka lang ba?" He sounded concerned.

When I was about to talk, Caleb grabbed Andrew's wrist away from me. Andrew got surprised that it made him look at Caleb who was completely glaring at him.

"Really? Right infront of me?"

Andrew smirked to Caleb's sudden reaction. Caleb looked away then released Andrew's wrist before walking inside the gym. I looked at Andrew and punched him on the arm.

"Aray ko naman," He chuckled.

"That's for suddenly holding my face!" I said and went inside the gym.

Minutes had passed, a person who is already on his 30's went inside the gym. Maybe it's their coach?

"Good afternoon coach!" Andrew placed his arm on the shoulders of his coach.

"Good afternoon Andrew," He chuckled. "May nahanap ka na bang manager?" He asked.

"Opo," Andrew took off his arm from the shoulders of his coach, then he pointed at me.

I suddenly got scared when their coach's gaze went to me, he looked intimidating. But in the end he gave me a warm smile, it lessen my nervousness. He walked up to me that it made myself stood up.

"Hello, I'm Coach Lu. The coach of this club, and may I ask if matagal ka na bang naging manager or is it your first time today?" He said as he placed his hand on his hip.

"I've been a manager since highschool po." I replied.

"Well that's great!" He clasped his hands.

"Mabait 'yang si Coach! Wag kang kabado, nanginginig ka oh!" One of the players said.

I just laughed it off. Coach Lu told the players to be in position because we will do a short introduction.

"The floor is yours," Coach Lu said.

"Hello, I'm Maxene La Nueva. You can all just call me Maxene or Max, pleasure on meeting you all." I smiled.

"Thank you Maxene, and also nice to meet you." He gave me a smile that also made me smile. "Players, please welcome our manager and always make her feel that she's part of the team."

"Welcome to the team Maxene! We hope we can work well all together and share many successes!" All of them said.

"Thank you." I replied.

After that, Coach Lu made them introduce themselves one by one to me so I can know who is who. Once they were done they decided to start their training. Coach Lu gave me a volleyball manual and told me to work on the scoring board.

I nodded and went to the scoring board. I sat down on a chair beside it so my legs wouldn't get tired. Coach Lu went beside the net because he's the referee.

Boys versus boys sila. They were divided into two, team A versus team B. Suddenly I realized that Andrew and Caleb aren't teammates, I'm starting to get curious about how they play.

While in the middle of the first set, Team A is two points ahead from Team B, but everytime Team B sees Team A increasing their point they suddenly start catching up. Moments later, the girls who sneaked inside the gym got my attention, they headed straight to the bleachers on top. Maybe those are the volleyball girls?

When I flipped the page of the scoring board, I got startled when the girls started screaming. The boys suddenly stopped playing, their attention went to the girls on the bleachers. All of them were shocked even Coach Lu.

Suddenly Jaxon smirked and shouted. "Our win will prove that we really love our special someone!"

The girls from the bleachers started screaming again. It made me smile and chuckle, even Coach Lu. After giving a short chuckle I looked at the players and Andrew caught my attention.. He was looking at me. He was saying something but I didn't heard it because he was on the opposite side of the court. I shook my head off then looked at the other team.

Me and Caleb's eyes met.
