Chapter 2

It was midnight when the pirates approached Damyang in a small fishing boat that bounced with the rough waves. Their ship was closer to the port but hidden from view behind the small island. The crescent moon was hidden behind the dark clouds as if sensing the danger.

They rowed the boat closer to the port. The Python stood tall and proud like the beast she was. Jungkook was reminded of Jimin standing at the poop deck, waving at him with a hidden smile before they parted ways to go on their adventures. The amount of bickering they did whenever they met and did small maintenance work at the docks but at the same time praising each other's ships flashed in his mind.

Jungkook clenched his jaw as his grip tightened on the hilt of his sword. Jimin was his rival. No one touched what was his.

Jimin was cold, weak, hungry, and in pain. The damp cell and the stale smell of mold caused his senses to numb after being here for too long. Sense of time was lost on him now. There was no daylight inside the cell and he couldn't tell if it was morning or night. The only source of light came from the flickering torch in the dim-lit corridor.

However, he couldn't even tell how long he was down here judging by the state of his injuries. For some reason, Minhyuk hadn't killed him yet.

Earlier when two guards stepped inside to unlock him from the chains, he was surprised. His knees had given out and they had dragged him to the rickety bed before dropping him there unceremoniously. They'd given him some water to drink and some horrible porridge that smelled stale. Jimin had forced it down his throat wanting to stay alive.

The torture Minhyuk subjected him was endless. Sometimes they flogged him until he passed out. Sometimes they drowned him in cold water until he felt like his brain froze off. Sometimes he was too numb to even scream in pain. Every breath he took hurt.

He didn't know how long he had or how long before Minhyuk showed up again. The missive must have been so important because he didn't come back to bother him yet. His hands reached to trace the heart stone he always wore around his neck and froze when he realized he no longer had it with him.

Fucking bastard. He wanted to kill him and tear him limb to limb. Jimin clenched his jaw. He was exhausted but his thoughts were racing.

"I thought I told ye this is me place."

Jimin smirked, turning around from the ocean to meet the most infuriating pirate. "And I remember telling you that this place belongs to no pirate."

"I don't like ye here. Leave," said the most handsome pirate with a sharp jawline and intense eyes.

Gone were the babyface and innocent doe-like eyes he often sported as a teenager. Jimin had no doubt he'd grow into a fine man. It felt like Jungkook had a growth spurt in the last six months they didn't meet. He was taller and broader now with extra muscles.

Jimin smiled, unsheathing his sword. "Make me."

"How many times do I have to tell ye that ye shouldn't be here?"

Jimin beamed as he turned around to face the Dragon, the mighty pirate every other feared. He unsheathed his sword. "Make me."

Jungkook unsheathed his sword, a shiny new one from the looks of it. It looked studier and even bigger than his old one. What caught Jimin's attention was the golden dragon handle with a red gem in its eyes.

"Pretty sword," he said as Jungkook lunged for him.

They met in the middle, their swords clashing with a clang and sparks flying around them. They attacked each other viciously, their feet digging into the sand.

This was nothing new. They fought whenever they met each other. It was how they settled their differences. After the first time, Jimin handed his ass to him, Jungkook never missed a chance to fight Jimin.

Jungkook didn't like Jimin being here and Jimin wasn't someone who listened to others. This wasn't Jungkook's place. Even if it was he didn't give a damn. He wouldn't be a pirate if he did.

He purposefully came here and spend time whenever he visited the island. They didn't usually run into each other often in this place but these days it was as if Jungkook was following him around.

Usually, they fought until one of them was disarmed or the first to draw blood was a winner. Their fights often took hours to end with how skillful they both were with their swords. However today, Jimin drew blood first. A small slice around Jungkook's bicep was all it took.

"I win," he announced with glee. "Ye should leave. This place be mine for the day."

Jungkook, however, didn't leave. Instead, he closed the distance between them in a few long strides. Jimin was ready when he cupped his nape, pulling him and crashing their lips together. Jungkook gripped his sword, throwing it on the sand as he hoisted him over his shoulder.

Jimin just giggled, slapping Jungkook's firm ass as he dangled over his shoulder. His grin only grew bigger when Jungkook lowered him onto the makeshift straw mattress they had inside their secret hideout.

Jungkook kissed him again and there was nothing decent about the kiss. Jimin didn't exactly remember how it started. They were eighteen or were they nineteen? Their fight had gone longer than usual and both were getting frustrated. It was a time when they didn't have a rule for fighting. They kept going even after drawing blood and until Jungkook had pinned him against a tree.

One second Jungkook was staring at him and the next thing they knew they were kissing. One thing led to the other and soon Jimin found himself spread on the ground with Jungkook pounding into him as he marked his skin purple. From then onwards, all their fights had ended in them fucking like rabbits against any surface they could find.

This time too Jimin expected a rough fucking, but Jungkook took his time with him, slowly undressing him unlike before. He didn't rush to undress him, instead, he kissed him as if he hadn't seen him for months. Well, they didn't meet for months but the kiss made Jimin realize how much he missed the other pirate captain.

Jimin's chest heaved when they pulled apart.

Jungkook supported his weight on his elbow as he stared down at him. His lips were swollen and red from their kisses. His long, dark hairs askew and out of the hair tie fell over his eyes and shoulders. Dark ink peeked from under the tunic he wore, something that wasn't there the last time they met.

"Ye got new tattoos," he said, tugging at his tunic.

Jungkook lifted his hands allowing Jimin to remove them and throw them on the floor beside them. Jimin removed his tunic too and began to untie the leather that held his pants tight against his hips.

"Ye look beautiful as ever," Jungkook whispered, running his hands along the length of his thighs.

"Did ye go to the cursed waters?" Jimin cocked his head to the side. He lifted his hips, removing the pants in one smooth motion along with his underpants. "Ye talk funny."

Jungkook didn't answer instead reached behind his pocket to produce something. Jimin gasped when he saw what it was.

"I did get lost into an uncharted territory and happen to find something most valuable," he said, his gaze lifting to lock with his. He held the gold chain in front of him and Jimin was speechless.

The sapphire-colored heart stone was the prettiest thing he'd ever seen. He could tell it was worth several bags of gold. The gold chain and the intricate design of the pendant that held the heart stone were breathtaking. He reached for the chain, gently tracing the heart stone that was cold to touch.

"That's one hell of a booty," he whispered in awe.

"It's for ye," Jungkook said, unclasping the chain to bring it around his neck. Jimin's eyes were wide as Jungkook secured the chain around his neck. "Thought it'd look pretty on ye. I was right." He ran his index finger over the stone down his sternum.

"Jungkook..."

Instead of answering, the pirate had kissed him to silence before fucking him into oblivion. Jimin never removed the chain from that day. Eventually, it had become a part of his identity.

Jimin smiled at the memory. He didn't know when he fell asleep but he was jostled awake by a loud sound. He gasped as he sat upright, crying soundlessly when his body protested.

Feck.

He despised feeling weak. He wasn't someone who often fell sick and even if he did he was never confined to bed. But this time he felt vulnerable with no means to protect himself and he hated himself for it.

He strained to listen to any noises coming from outside and jerked when there was a flash of light outside his cell. There was a loud clang. The sound was too familiar as the chains holding the door of his cell fell to the ground and the door was ripped open.

A man bounded inside and Jimin moved backward in his confused state. The said man knelt in front of him and brought the torch in front of him.

Jungkook?

"You... you came." Jimin almost cried in relief, lunging forward to wrap his arms around his neck.

"Of course I came. Nobody gets to kill you, but me." Jungkook captured his lips in a searing kiss.

Jimin returned the kiss with the same intensity. It was wet, messy, and dirty. Urgent fingers tugged at his hair and made him wince in pain but he didn't mind. He always liked a little pain. But only when Jungkook was the cause of it. When they parted after a moment, breathless and chest heaving, Jimin just nodded and let Jungkook drag him away.

His limbs protested with every move but the sudden rush of adrenaline pumping through his veins caused him to forget the pain momentarily.

"Wait..." He suddenly stopped and tugged at Jungkook's hand. "My heart stone...Kang has it."

Jungkook smiled. "Not anymore." With that, they were running again.

They ran through dark corridors, jumping past the lifeless bodies of the guards. There was chaos everywhere around them. They didn't stop to notice. Someone yelled at them to retreat. Mission was a success.

Jimin didn't even see where he was going, just running wildly and blindly with Jungkook. After a while when his knees gave out, Jungkook just lifted him in his arms and kept running. His vision blurred and the exhaustion was finally catching up with him. He closed his eyes and finally let the darkness claim him with a smile on his face.
