Music Insert: Toad Town DX (Composed by Yoko Shimomura!)

Several days since Bowser's sentence. The Y/n Brothers were very pleased about their testimony against the vile Koopa King. So were Princess Peach and the Beverly Hills Spies. We now look inside as our hero wakes up from their slumber.

Y/n: *Sleeping until the sun rays shown onto him and tries to resist it* "ZZZ...ZZZ..."

...Or still asleep because he's tired out from the party in the last chapter...

Y/n: "ZZZ...ZZZ...ZZZ..."

S/n: "Oi! Wake up, lil' bro!"

Y/n: *Yawn* "...Mamma Mia..." *Rubbing eyes* "...Mornin', big sis."

S/n: "Too much fun last night, perhaps?"

Y/n: "Yeah... You could say that..."

S/n: "Well, that ain't my problem. Anyway, you got a visitor."

Y/n: "Visitor...?"

Toad: *Pops up* "Hey, Y/n!"

Y/n jumped and scooted back as Toad appeared.

Y/n: "Toad!?"

Toad: "It's been a while, huh?"

Y/n: "Yeah... You could say that..."

S/n: *Smiled* "Just like we first came here."

Toad: "Oh! Speaking of which, Jerry and the princess wanted me to give this thing to you two!"

The little mushroom man showed the siblings a small holo-projector.

Y/n: "What's that?"

Toad: "The princess said it's from Jerry in the real world, but I'm not sure what it is..." *Gives S/n the CD player*

S/n: "Hmm... For a spy director, he is crafty."

S/n pressed the play button as a holographic vision of Jerry appeared.

Jerry's Hologram: "Good morning, Y/n Brothers."

Y/n & S/n: "Jerry?"

Jerry's Hologram: "Correction: I'm a Hologram of myself. I have your first assignment of being professional spies."

S/n: "This oughta be good." *Crossed her arms*

Jerry's Hologram: "Since Princess Peach informed me that the worlds or multiverse of video games DO exist, G.L.A.D.I.S. suspected a distress signal from somewhere far away from the Mushroom World."

Y/n: "Where is it?"

Jerry's Hologram: "I've marked the location on your handheld gaming devices. Anytime if you want to look into your spy objectives, just select or touch the W.O.O.H.P. icon."

Y/n checked his collection of Game Boys, Nintendo DS's, Wii U Gamepad and his Nintendo Switch and he was impressed that Jerry made some secret spy installments.

Y/n: *Astonished* "Wow..."

S/n: "Double wow..."

Jerry's Hologram: "Of course, I found the right time to do some adjustment to your handhelds. So, now your handhelds and your phone will pick up distress calls or any other disruptions from worlds, no matter how far you are."

Y/n understood that, but he was too busy admiring his newly updated gear. He pressed the W.O.O.H.P. icon on Nintendo DS as a mission objective list appears and one mission is available.

Jerry's Hologram: "Read your new assignment, please. I've already contacted the girls about this mission, so you'll definitely need their assistance. They'll rendezvous outside your house in the Mushroom Kingdom once you finish reading the message." *Disappears away*

Toad: "Wow... He's pretty good."

S/n: "Come on, dude. What's it say?"

Y/n: *Taps the mission description and reads* "There's a major discovery in the fabric of time and space. You can use the Warp Zone anytime to travel through worlds, universes, even the multiverse. Use it for your first assignment. A planet called Earth, not as similar as ours, has seven powerful and ancient artifacts called the Chaos Emeralds. Suspected six of the Emeralds to be used for evil and last seen on an isle called South Island. Your first assignment; find the Chaos Emeralds before somebody uses it for an evil purpose. Anyone or anything related to your assignment, use them for an advantage. Caution: my holographic message will self-destruct. Good luck, Y/n Brothers."

Sure enough, Jerry's holo-projector was smoking and ticking and Toad was frantic!

Toad: "Get it out! Get it out! Get it out! Get it out!"

S/n: "Chill. I got this."

S/n grabbed the player and threw it out the window before...

KABOOM!!!

Fortunately, nobody was hurt.

S/n: "A bit cliche to send us a self-destruct message, don'tcha think?"

Y/n: "South Island...?" Where could that be...?"

S/n: *Gasps* "Dude! Maybe it's related to Sonic the Hedgehog!"

Y/n: *Suddenly gets it* "Yeah! I always wanted to meet the fastest blue hero alive!"

Toad: *Densely* "...Who's Sonic...?"

Y/n: "No time to explain, lil' buddy! Wait til' the girls get here!"

Toad: "Before you go, here's a little something from me."

The mushroom man gave the siblings an item bag.

S/n: "What is it?"

Toad: "The princess told me to give you this in case you get yourselves in a jam. There are many power-ups inside."

Y/n: "Perfect! Thanks, Toad! Now we just need-"

Right on cue, the door knocked as Y/n answered it, there stood Alex, Clover, Britney and Sam at the front.

Sam: "Morning, Y/n! Did you receive Jerry's message?"

Y/n: "You bet your meatballs I did! Guess what, we're all going to the universal home of Sonic the Hedgehog!"

Britney: "Who's Sonic the Hedgehog?"

S/n: "Only Sega's greatest video game hero ever and the fastest hedgehog around."

Alex: "I never seen a hedgehog who's really fast."

Y/n: "You'll see him once we get to the South Island."

S/n: "Last one there is a rotten Eggman!"

Y/n: "You're on!"

Y/n & S/n raced to the Warp Pipe as the girls followed behind.

Clover: "Slow down, Y/n! We're not in a rush!"

Y/n: "We are now, Clove! C'mon! Pump those legs!"

The Y/n Brothers raced each other and dove into the Warp Pipe as they entered the Warp Zone. The girls were a bit concerned.

Clover: "I'm not back in the pipe again. What if we end up in the Dark Lands again?"

Britney: "Relax, Clover. We got here in one piece on the way here, remember?"

Alex: "I'm sure that we won't end up in the Dark Lands this time."

Sam: "Let us hope so."

The girls entered the pipe as they entered the Warp Zone too.

Once inside the zone, they were being carried along a series of clear passageways moving through brightly colored clouds.

Clover: "At least it's beautiful here."

S/n: "This way, guys!"

The spies managed to keep up with the Y/n Brothers. Clover clung onto Y/n as she was nervous while the others gave her an unamused look.

Y/n: "We should be able to find a Warp Pipe to Sonic's Universe from here!"

Alex: "How do we know which one is the right one?"

S/n: "There are no warp pipes to the Sonic Universe but there's one way. They have giant rings called Warp Rings to get to the game's Special Stages."

Britney: "So we just need to find a giant ring?"

Sam: "Like the one up ahead...?"

Sure enough, at the end of their passageway is a Blue Pipe with a Giant Ring on its front end.

Clover: *Became tense* "Not to be obvious, but there's our exit."

Y/n: "That must be it, alright! Good eyes, Clove! Hold on tight everyone! Land ho!!"

Everybody braced themselves as they entered through the blue pipe. Clover held tightly onto Y/n.

Somewhere on the South Island...

This is the peaceful South Island... A paradise blessed with abundant nature. Its fauna is mainly composed of non-anthropomorphic animals. Its flora, however, is much more diverse and abstract; one area in particular holds many kinds of flowers that move, almost as if they were dancing, alongside tall palm trees with spiked coconuts.

Green Hill Zone!

The Blue Pipe appeared as it ejected the spies out. They landed roughly but for Y/n & S/n landed just fine.

Britney: *Groaned in pain* "I think we need to get used to the landings."

Clover: *Sees Green Hills* "Wow... So beautiful here."

Y/n: "According to my video game memory, this must be the Green Hill Zone."

S/n: *Checks her DS comm* "Yep, we're on South Island alright."

Sam: "So, where do we start?"

Her question was answered as some Moto Bugs, Crab Meats, Newtrons and Buzz Bombers captured many animals, imprisoning them in capsules.

Britney: *Surprised* "What are those things?!"

Alex: "What are they doing to these poor, cute little animals?!"

Y/n & S/n: *Simultaneously* "BADNIKS!!"

Clover: "Badniks?"

Everyone hid in the bushes from the Badniks to make sure they wouldn't get spotted by the robots.

S/n: "They're Dr. Robotnik's machines and minions. He plans to kidnap every last animal to power his robots to do his own misdeeds!"

Alex: "Ugh! Talk about pure evil!"

S/n: "That's Disney Evil in my vote, dude."

Y/n: "No time to sit around, we gotta stop them and save the critters."

Sam: "Y/n, What if they see us?"

No time to answer, Y/n jumped out and attacked some Moto Bugs and Crab Meats as many Flickys and Pockys were free from the Badniks' control.

Y/n: "That's how we do it back in the Mushroom Kingdom."

Little did Y/n know more Moto Bugs, Newtrons and Buzz Bombers fought back as he dodged it. The girls were but had no other choices but to help. S/n took out some Fire Flowers from the box and attacked the Badniks. Meanwhile, a young blue hedgehog was speeding across Green Hills.

"Sonic the Hedgehog!"

When the hedgehog spotted the spies and the Y/n Brothers fighting the Badniks, without wasting time, the hedgehog jumped and spin attacked the Moto Bugs as the spies finished off the last Newtrons and the Y/n Brothers finished off the Buzz Bombers. Y/n & S/n were quick to notice as many animals were free.

S/n: "Dude, is that who I think it is..."

Y/n: "The fastest thing alive..."

Y/n & S/n: "SONIC!!!"

Yes, the hedgehog is indeed Sonic. The blue blur noticed the spies and the siblings and took caution.

Britney: "That's Sonic?"

S/n: "Yep, this is what he looks like in the Genesis era."

Alex: "He's smaller than I thought he would be."

Clover: "You have to admit, he's kinda cute like this."

Sonic:

Unaware of the spies, there was still one Moto Bug alive and was about to attack Y/n but Sonic was quick enough to act and took the Badnik out. A group of birds, known as Flickies, appeared, including the one that was contained in the robot, and were in distress.

Sam: "Are these birds?"

S/n: "They're Flickies, Sam. I think they're trying to tell us something."

One of the Flickies explained that a man has been kidnapping all of the local Animals.

Britney: "Who would do that?"

Y/n: Sonic, Big sis and I know who." *Points in the sky* "Look!"

Their attention turns to the above as a man in a hovercraft with his robot troops carrying heavy capsules of the imprisoned animals. This is the mastermind of the Badniks!

"Dr. Ivo Robotnik!"

Robotnik fled towards the Green Hill Zone to find more animals to capture and power up more Badniks. The spies and Y/n Brothers noticed it as well as Sonic.

Y/n: "Sonic, we can help you stop him but we'll have to work together. Robotnik is also after the Chaos Emeralds as well as you are."

The blue hedgehog understands the heroes from Beverly Hills are not his enemies and they're not working for Robotnik but he is concerned about the Chaos Emeralds in the mad doctor's clutches. He offers Y/n a handshake and the plumber spy accepts it as a sign of an alliance.

S/n: "Alright, Sonic! Lead the way!"

Y/n: "Let's-a-go!"

Sonic sped off to follow Robotnik and Y/n and S/n trailed behind.

Sam: "Wait for us, Y/n!!"

The spies followed as their journey through South Island.

Music Insert: Green Hill Zone (By Masato Nakamura!)

Y/n & Sonic were running in the grassy region of Green Hills as they sped off as fast as they could run. Sonic spin dash attacked through some Chompers as Y/n tried to spin dash as he crouches down and curls up into a tight concussive ball. He then starts charging up the Spin Dash from a stationary position by spinning rapidly on the spot and gaining potential energy before taking off into a high-speed spin attack into a few Chompers and Crab Meats. Y/n didn't find it difficult but he felt dizzy after.

Y/n: *Dizzy* "Good thing I didn't have breakfast this morning..."

Meanwhile the girls were trailing behind the boys as they were running through the slopes and beating Badniks of the area.

Sam: "Never thought your brother is a fan of Sonic."

S/n: "Well, the one thing my bro loves the most about the series is the music itself."

Alex: "I wish Peach would've brought us something before we left."

S/n: "Wish granted! Catch!"

S/n threw a bunch of Fire Flowers to the spies and they transformed into, Fire Alex, Fire Clover, Fire Sam and Fire Britney.

Clover: "Hey! Our suits changed!"

Britney: "So have our belts!"

S/n: "Can ya feel the sunshine and fire power, it does brighten up your day! Enough said. C'mon!"

The girls hurried to find Y/n and Sonic. Meanwhile the plumber and the blue blur were dashing through the loops, tunnels and avoiding spike pits. Y/n was having a time of his life already.

Y/n: *Keeping up with Sonic* "This is amazing! I never thought I could keep up with you, Sonic!"

Sonic smiled at Y/n as he sped off and the plumber was catching up with him. Back with the girls, they were taking their time gathering rings, saving animals and destroying the robots.

Clover: "I wish Y/n and I would have our date here. This place is so beautiful."

Sam: "Remember, we're on a mission, Clover."

Alex: "I also wish Y/n would slow down as well as Sonic. They're making us do all the hard work."

S/n: "Not entirely true. There may be some even more dangerous enemies up ahead. That's why we must be on guard."

Britney: "We've already freed the last of the animals around here. Better catch up with the boys."

SEVERAL MINUTES LATER...

Y/n & Sonic were resting in the near end of the Green Hills after running and defeating Badniks. At long last, the girls finally caught up with the two.

Y/n: *Notice the girls* "Hey, girls. Sorry if I left you behind. Didn't mean to."

S/n: "We know, dude."

Sam: "Any luck finding the Chaos Emeralds?"

Y/n: "Nope. Sorry."

Then, they turn to Sonic and he shows the spies that he found a Blue Chaos Emerald.

Alex: "Guess Sonic is a step ahead of us."

Clover: *Looked at the Chaos Emerald* "Wow. It's so beautiful. I wonder why Dr. Robotnik wanted it so badly."

Sam: "Speaking of Robotnik, where is he?"

Her question was answered as Robotnik appeared on his Egg Wrecker!

Music Insert: Boss!! (Composed by Masato Nakamura!)

Dr. Robotnik sees Sonic as he glares at him. Sonic tossed the Emerald to Y/n as he spin-jumped towards the Egg Wrecker. The girls jumped in to help the hedgehog but Robotnik had other ideas. He retracted the ball and flipped 360 degrees, slamming it down where Y/n was to get the Chaos Emerald but the plumber dodged in time. This was the heroes' chance to attack. The girls threw many fireballs at Robotnik as he noticed his Egg Wrecker began to overheat. The mad doctor began to grow impatient as he targeted the girls next. He gave a swing of the wrecking ball to the girls but Y/n & Sonic gave each other the same idea. Sonic curled up into a ball and Y/n kicked him towards Robotnik like a volleyball, then he passed Sonic over for her to hit him too. Both took turns after a few hits. Sonic doesn't mind though, but to him, an enemy of Robotnik is a friend of his. Y/n hit Sonic to the mad doctor the eighth and final time and the Egg Wrecker exploded while the chain and wrecking ball got destroyed. Dr. Robotnik was mad but had no choice but to flee.

Clover: "Groovy work, Y/n!"

Y/n: "Couldn't do it with you girls and Sonic."

Sonic only gave his new friends a thumbs up.

Alex: "Hey, guys! Look!"

Alex pointed to the capsule as Sonic pressed the switch and released many Flickies and Pockies. The girls were pleased to be helping the animals of Green Hill Zone.

Britney: "It really warms my heart to help these cute little animals."

S/n: "No time to stop, dude. They're still five more Chaos Emeralds left."

Y/n: "Good thing we have Sonic on our side. Right, Blue Blur?"

Sonic nodded yes. With the Blue Chaos Emerald in their hand, our heroes completed their search in Green Hill Zone and will continue their mission through the island's underground temple. What fiery dangers & spikey perils await in the Marble Zone?
