Braedey's POV

Yesterday was a great day. Garath showed us most of what he has at his house. This morning, he said he has an enclosure that houses a couple of pets in his backyard.

"So, where's the enclosure?" Clover asked.

"I'll show you." Garath answered.

He led us to another pond, but this one was surrounded by a wooden fence and there were some trees and rocks around the pond. Then he pointed to what appeared to be a pair of white logs.

"See those white things over there? Those are my alligators." He said.

"You have alligators for pets?" Alex asked.

"Not just any alligators. Albino American Alligators. The rarest of their species." Garath answered.

He pointed at one of the gators which had blue eyes.

"See that larger one with the blue eyes? That's Jack Frost. And that smaller, pink-eyed female next to him is his mate; Elsa." He said.

"That's cute." Sam said.

"Indeed. But be careful. I'm the only one that Jack will trust around either Elsa or himself. I rescued both of them when they were babies. They were sitting at death's doorstep with severe starvation. So I built this enclosure and nursed them back to health. And not only do they love me, but now, Jack loves Elsa. And he'll kill ya if you come anywhere near her." Garath said.

"Whoa. Sounds like we'd better be careful with them." Clover replied.

"Don't worry. They're not so bad once you get to know them. It just takes a little time. And speaking of, I'd say it's feeding time for my gator friends." Garath said.

He ran inside the house and returned with big slobs of meat. Garath entered the enclosure with the food and cautiously approached Jack and Elsa. Jack let out a snarling hiss, warning Garath not to get to close to him or his girlfriend. But he wasn't afraid.

"Easy, mate. I'm bringing you and Elsa some breakfast. No need for hostility." Garath said calmly.

Jack calmed down, and the two gators began to slowly walk up to him as he put the meat in front of them.

"That's right Jack. I'm your friend, remember? I'm the one who saved you and Elsa. I nursed you both back to health when you were young." Garath said.

Jack looked up at the young man and trilled happily. Elsa just looked at Garath and smiled. The gators began to feed as Garath left their enclosure. I couldn't believe my eyes. He talked to a couple of vicious reptiles and they understood him.

"How did you do that? You talked to them like a regular human being, and yet they understood you." I said.

"I'm what most people call an animal whisperer. I grew up with a rare talent that allows me to talk to animals and understand them." Garath replied.

We headed for the dojo, where our training was about to begin.

"Now, I have state of the art technology that allows me to create simulations for training programs." Garath said.

"Impressive. Care to show us?" Clover asked.

"That's exactly what I was about to do, sweetheart." Garath answered, as he walked to the center of the room. "Computer, abandoned castle, and spawn Shao Kahn. Level 10."

The room changed and we found ourselves inside of an abandoned castle

And sitting on a throne in front of Garath, was none other than the evil emperor of Outworld; Shao Kahn.

"So, a mortal challenges me? Pathetic." He said with a wicked smile.

"Bring it on, Kahn. Unless you're too much of a coward and would rather let Mileena do your own dirty work." Garath rebuffed confidently.

This made the Outworld emperor angry.

"You dare insult me?!" Shao Kahn asked.

"Yes. You are not an emperor. You're nothing but a coward who prefers to let his daughter do his own dirty work." Garath answered, smiling.

"Very well. I shall face you, in Mortal Kombat. With Mileena by my side." Shao Kahn said, angrily.

As Shao Kahn stood up from his throne, Mileena teleported into the room.

She removed her bandana, showing her hideous Tarkatan teeth.

"Oh boy. A new playmate. You are quite handsome. Perhaps you and I could be together as a married couple." She said joyfully.

"Dream on." Garath said, smugly.

"You dare reject the princess of Outworld?! I will make you suffer for that! Matter of fact, I will rip out your throat!" Mileena screamed angrily.

"Alright, let's dance." Garath replied, showing no signs of fear.

Mileena charged at him, but Garath caught her by the throat and lifted her up with one hand.

"Gotcha!" He said, as he punched Mileena in the face four times before knocking her away with a powerful Hook. "Get some!"

Shao Kahn threw a warhammer at Garath, but the young man ducked and dodged it. Before Kahn could do anything else, Garath rose up and shot his arms forward, his wrists were touching each other.

"HADOKEN!" He screamed, as he shot a purple fireball from his palms.

The fireball exploded upon contact with Shao Kahn, and sent him flying into a wall. Mileena charged again and began trying to attack Garath. But the boy blocked and countered every blow she tried to deal to him. Eventually; Garath jumps and spins, hitting Mileena in the jaw multiple times.

"SHORYUKEN!" He yelled, before he lands.

Mileena was stunned and she staggered. Seizing his chance, Garath shoots a bolt of purple lightning from the palm of his right hand.

The bolt blasted through Mileena's chest, exposing her beating heart. She fell to the ground. Her father watched in anger as his daughter lay lifeless in front of him.

"You'll pay for that!" He screamed, as he charged and swung his warhammer.

But Garath went into a split and punched Shao Kahn in the groin. Shao Kahn held his crotch and howled in pain, before Garath began hitting him with a flurry of attacks. He sent Kahn flying with an uppercut.

"You got Caged!" He said.

Soon, Shao Kahn began staggering and Garath immediately went after him. He spun on his left heel and smashed his right foot into Kahn's chest, kicking his heart out. After this, he does a Spinning Hook Kick and uses enough force to decapitate the evil emperor. Now Garath stood still as Kahn fell to the ground and didn't move.

"Flawless victory." He said calmly, as the scenery changed back into the dojo. The bodies of Mileena and Shao Kahn vanished as well.

The girls and I saw everything. And we learned that Garath keeps his skills sharp with very intense training.

"Whoa. That was amazing. And there's not a scratch on you." I said.

"Yes. We've never seen training that intense before." Alex replied.

"That's my way of training. The more intensity, the better. But don't worry, I go easy on beginners. What you witnessed, was the first lesson of your training. You must learn to be ready for anything and adapt to any situation." Garath said.
