Awkwardness and Scares
Courtney stood up abruptly, nearly knocking down a confused Gwen in her wake
"I'm going to go unpack," Courtney murmured, and refused to meet anyone's eyes as she grabbed her suitcase and rushed upstairs.
The rest of the ex cast stood awkwardly in the living area. Bridgette slowly cleared her throat
"So," she laughed awkwardly "Who wants some champagne?"
Stupid Gwen. Stupid Duncan. Stupid Chris for getting me in this mess in the first place.
Courtney sighed as she threw her suitcase down on the bed in the room she claimed to herself. It had a queen sized bed, red velvet curtains and numerous giant portraits of Chris McLean himself hung all over the walls. Courtney told herself she had to grab a few towels to cover them up later, because they were giving her the creeps.
Courtney slowly unzipped her suitcase and began pulling out her clothes and other belongings. She stuffed them into the dresser next to her bed. She pulled out a couple cocktail dresses and walked over to hang them up in the closet-
Creek
Courtney scrunched her eyebrows together and turned around to the sound of someone walking across the old wooden floors in the hallway outside her bedroom. But once she did, the noise stopped. She shrugged and turned back around, opening the closet and hanging up her dresses.
Creek creek
Courtney growled and whipped around quickly, and walked over to her door and flung it open
"What the hell-"
No body was there.
Courtney sighed and closed the door, leaning her back against it
"Calm down Court, you're just hearing things," she whispered to herself, trying to convince herself more than anything. She walked over to her in suite bathroom and flicked on the light. And smirked at the tiled floor, Jacuzzi tub, and double gold plated sinks.
"Not bad McLean, not bad," Courtney mumbled as she walked over and bent over the tub, twisting it to turn on the hot water. As she waited for it to fill up Courtney stripped of her dress and panties. She neatly folded them and placed them in a pile on the counter. Courtney twisted her dark brown hair into a bun on top of her head and slowly slid down into the relaxing hot water. Letting out a satisfied sigh as she did.
Courtney slowly slid down until the water just barely touched her chin, leaned her head back, and closed her eyes.
She didn't notice someone else was also in the room with her. Slowly advancing towards the relaxed, unaware girl with eyes set to kill.
The masked figure was so silent, as they approached Courtney from behind.
With the strength that seemed impossible, the figure grabbed Courtney by the shoulders and roughly shoved her head under the water. Courtney only letting out a single scream before water filled her mouth and lungs.
"I'm surprised you showed up dude," Geoff clapped Duncan on the back, giving his friend a nod of approval. Duncan shrugged and took off his leather jacket, draping it over the couch in the living area. Bridgette had taken the 6 pack of beer he had brought into the kitchen.
"Me too, actually," Duncan mumbled, as he took his seat next to an uncomfortable Cody and Noah. Cody visibly moved away from the former bad boy, into the arms of his boyfriend.
"Amigo, how have you been?" Alejandro asked, his arm draped lazily around Heather's waist, who rolled her eyes and sipped on her champagne. Duncan looked at him and smirked
"Not as good as you seem to be. About time you two hooked up," Duncan said. Alejandro smirked and pulled Heather in for a kiss, which she dodged with a laugh
"Not so fast, pretty boy. I'm saving that for later," she said, winking at him. Causing Noah to gag on the couch.
"I'm worried about Courtney," Bridgette whispered to Geoff, as she kept casting worried eyes towards the stairs Courtney had fled up about a half hour ago. Geoff and Owen were in the process of making one of the largest sandwiches she had ever seen
"I'm sure she's fine. She's a big girl," Geoff said as Duncan walked in
"Who's a big girl?" he asked, grabbing a beer from the fridge. Bridgette glared at him
"Courtney. Who else do you think?" she snapped, crossing her arms over her chest.
Duncan sighed. He'd expected this. Bridgette was Courtney's best friend. Of course she would still be mad at him.
"Look, Bridgette... I'm not here to start any drama with anyone," Duncan said, leaning against the fridge
"Then why are you here?" Bridgette asked, raising a brow. Duncan swallowed hard, and rubbed the back of his head
"I'm here... To get Courtney back," he confessed. Geoff and Bridgette's eyes went wide. As did Izzy's who happened to be standing in the room with them
"Oooooh," Izzy cooed. Duncan rolled his eyes
"I still love her. The whole Gwen thing was just a giant fuck up. And I'm hoping now that some time has passed, she'll be willing to listen to what I have to say," Duncan said. Bridgette sighed a little
"I don't think that'll happen, give or take the way she ran out of the room when she saw you-"
Suddenly a single ear piercing scream sounded from upstairs. Making everyone jump, Duncan dropped his beer bottle
"Courtney!" he yelled and rushed out of the kitchen. Bridgette and Geoff quick behind him. Duncan took the stairs 2 at a time, his heart pounding in his ears. He found her room and shoved the door open with his shoulder. The 3 rushed into the room, looking for the source of the scream.
"There!" Bridgette yelled, pointing to the light under the bathroom door. Duncan ran forward and shoved open the door. His face paled as soon as he saw Courtney laying face down in the tub. Not moving at all.
Duncan felt his knees give out
"Oh God.... No,"
