Old Opinion: "For those who read the last edition, I mentioned not finishing Pahkitew Island completely (I missed the three final episodes). Therefore, my statements about Dave and Sky weren't creditable and I really couldn't evaluate another huge couple in the season, Jasmine and Shawn. However, now that I'm re-watching the season with the intentions of finishing it, I can now go over those two couples. Starting off is the couple that is possibly the most unusual in Total Drama history, Jasmine and Shawn.

So, do I like these two together? The answer would be an astounding yes. Despite their quirks, I really love these two characters together. Although Shawn is kind of paranoid with his zombie fears, he still is able to have a stable relationship with Jasmine. Jasmine is the rock that keeps him closer to reality, where there is no reason to fear that the zombie apocalypse is here or on the rise. Also, Shawn's crush on her is what made him start to open up to society a little bit more. It made him participate in more challenges and eventually win over the girl he loved. Not to mention Jasmine doesn't feel like an outsider around Shawn, as her tall size has a tendency to scare people away. She has more self-confidence as a result of this, and starts to love who she is as a person. They are basically a crazier version of Noah and Emma, but with Noah's antisocial nature replaced with Shawn's paranoia. I really love these two together, and I hope to see them again in another season still going strong."

  New Opinion:  I see Shawn as a reverse Ezekiel.  Both characters were outcasts and were homeschooled for their whole lives.  As a result, they have their quirks, which affected both characters in different ways.  While Ezekiel tried (and horribly failed) at being noticed, Shawn gained a paranoia that the world was to be destroyed by a sudden zombie apocalypse.  Ezekiel's path ended in him going insane, all because he couldn't win at one thing and one person didn't help him.  Shawn on the other hand got Jasmine, the rock that keeps his paranoia at bay, and ended up becoming a better person as a result of this.  In my mind, Shawn is the Ezekiel that ended up happy in the end, and became more likable as a result of this.  So from that observation, you can see why I freaking adore his relationship with Jasmine.  They really deserved to be the main couple of Pahkitew Island and I seriously can't wait for them to return in a future season.  My opinion from the year before has not changed.
