Old Opinion: "This couple sort of reminds me of another semi-confirmed couple I like from the same franchise, Harold and LeShawna, as well as strangely enough Cloudtail and Brightheart, a couple from the Warriors book series.  Combining the best of both couples just mentioned, Sam and Dakota are by far one of my favorite couples from Total Drama.  (I still like Noah and Emma a lot more, but just know they are in my top five Total Drama couples.)  Sam is kind of like Harold, only instead of being skilled in both science and mathematics, he is great with video games lore.  He talks about gaming 24/7 and will go insane if he goes without his "Game Buddy" for too long.  Kind of like Harold when no one appreciates his "skills".  Dakota is kind of like LeShawna also, but isn't gutsy at all.  She is slight self-centered like Leshawna and will go into a fit if someone crosses her the wrong way.  Sam and Dakota's similar personalities to both Harold and LeShawna is though only half the reason I love them as a couple so much.  Remember how I mentioned Cloudtail and Brightheart before?  Well, it turns out in the Warrior book series these two got together after Brightheart was disfigured by dogs and almost everyone gave up on her ever achieving anything, except for Cloudtail.  He gave her the will to go on, which not only made Brightheart be able to have a future in her clan, but it additionally caused these two cats to get together.  Sound kind of familiar?  After Dakota was forever mutated into a ten foot monster, she became an outcast and lost almost everything in the course of her few hour mutation.  The thing that let her go on was Sam, who loved her even more as a mutant.  The two got together rather quickly after the mutation and have been confirmed by  the creators to still be together.

  Tragic love stories and odd couples really draw me in general, especially with Sam and Dakota.  This couple's story made me like them together so much, and feel rewarded for being a Total Drama fan for so long.  Sometimes, the writers can really leave an impact on the audience, especially when they treat a more serious subject matter with such care.  Sam and Dakota are a piece of evidence towards that truth."

New Opinion: What can I say about these two except that they are a heartwarming and cute couple. I love odd couples like these two, and this love is only getting stronger the older I get. (I'm seventeen now, so I still am quite young.) I also adore the entire message this couple gives off; love is blind. No matter how you look, it is personality and your actions that can make a relationship work. Sam and Dakota are a great example of this message. Even with their quirks, Sam's being gaming and Dakota being fame hungry as well as her mutation into a ten foot monster, they still make it work. In fact, it is still going strong as of now and the writers would be complete fools to break them up. Now all we need is for them to return in a future season. Seriously, in Total Drama: All-Stars, the creators made a mistake by only bringing Sam back. Dakota is an awesome character too and she deserves the screen time, especially since I think her story arc is not over.
