Soccetball

A/n- I think this is the longest I've gone without updating this book, lol. Anyways, I hope you guys enjoy and thank you for staying patient while this was on hold❤️

"Is everyone ready to play their all-time favorite sport?" Chris smiled at the campers sitting around a burnt-out fire.

"Oh, I doubt you know what my favorite sport is," Duncan smirked. Courtney smacked him upside the head.

"Well, honestly, I don't care what it is, because you're playing anyways. This is a sport that Chef and I came up with. It's a mix of soccer and basketball. It's called...soccetball."

"Wow, so original," Said Noah.

The host continued, choosing to ignore his sarcastic remark. "Chef, here, will demonstrate." A loud groan was heard and out came Chef, wearing a red jersey and basketball shorts that looked more like a speedo. There were a few snickers from the players as they watched him walk in front of them. He held up a soccer ball in one hand and a basketball in the other.

"Since there are six different teams, you will play three-on-three until there are only two teams left in the game. One team will start out with the soccer ball, and one will start with the basketball. The team with the soccer ball will only be allowed to move their ball with their feet, and the team with the basketball will only be allowed to use hands. If one team's ball is stolen by the other team, the team with both balls must try and make it into both goals. Otherwise, whoever makes the ball into their basket or goal is the team that wins the round."

"I think this is the stupidest idea yet," commented Scott, his arms crossed.

"I know," Chef agreed, rolling his eyes. "It was Chris's idea anyways."

"Hey!"

"What? It's true! And you tried to give me some of the credit?!" He huffed, ripping the jersey off of his chest and walked away, mumbling something about how he 'doesn't get paid enough to do this.'

"Anyways," Chris bounced back to his usual demeanor. "I think Chef explained the rules perfectly."

"He didn't even demonstrate," Harold pointed out.

"Maybe not the game itself, but he did demonstrate the outfits you all will be wearing..."

"Ugh..." a collective groan came from the campers.

"Team one will be teams 1, 2, and 3, and team two will be 4, 5, and 6. Now get moving, people! We don't have all day!"

**

"I'm not playing this," was the first thing Heather said when their team received their jerseys.

"Me neither," Zoey joined.

"And...why is that?" José raised an eyebrow.

"Because we're pregnant, doofus!" The Asian snapped. "Would you want to be playing a physical sport with a freaking baby in your stomach?!"

Silence.

"I didn't think so. Come on, Zoey. We can just sit and eat ice cream."

"But it'll only be Trent and I," the Spaniard argued, his patience slowly slipping.

"No," she gritted her teeth. "You have all of team 1 and 3!!"

"But we still have two less people than the team we're up against!"

"Aren't you and Alejandro supposed to be professional soccer players or something?" Zoey asked.

"No, but our brother Carlos was."

"I know Alejandro's good at soccer," Heather smirked. "But I highly doubt José is."

Said man balled his fists in anger. "I am better than Al. In fact, I'm better than him at everything."

"Except for making a commitment," she muttered, making Zoey giggle a bit.

"Well unlike you, I'm committed to winning." He stormed out of the cabin to get dressed into his jersey.

I would be if my baby didn't come first, dibshit! "Ugh!!" Heather glared daggers at the door, growling lowly. "I'm not letting him near my baby. Ever."

"I wouldn't either," Zoey agreed. "I...feel like something's up with him."

Heather's eyes widened. Does she know?! "Well," she began as if nothing were wrong. "He's an asshole. He's always messing with Alejandro and he...he hurts him more than he lets on." Heather remembered how insecure Alejandro was about the scars on his back from the volcano, and she felt horrible. But when José began mocking him about it, it had gone too far. She knew he hated when he did it because he would never argue back with him about it. Heck, she'd even considered telling him to move on from her and meet someone who would never throw him off a volcano.

But as always, her fiancé would reassure her that he would never love anyone else because no one else would have dared to challenge him in Total Drama. And he somehow found her stubbornness attractive. Heather honestly never thought that a guy would ever love her the way Alejandro did, even if she had acted like she could get any man she wanted back in high school. That was far from the truth.

Her first date for prom didn't even show up, and during her senior year, she had asked a guy to go with her but he turned her down, calling her a 'bitch' and just laughing. That was when Heather stayed at him with her cat Bruiser, and that's when the news found out. Thanks to Gwen. Ugh!!

That's why the very thought of love was terrifying to her, and she didn't believe Alejandro truly loved her for a while. That was until she saw the more vulnerable side of him. Especially during their first time. He asked if they could leave the lights off but Heather refused, asking why. She was worried it had something to do with her. But he assured it had nothing to do with the way she looked. It took a lot of reassurance and coaxing before Alejandro gave in to her wishes.

She could tell he was uncomfortable whenever she saw him with his shirt off. "You know," she had said. "I think you look even sexier with those scars."

Heather smiled at the memory and placed a hand on her stomach. She couldn't believe they were going to have a baby together. And just a little over a week ago, she wouldn't have said that. What the hell am I turning into?

"Heather!" Zooey's voice snapped her out of her thoughts.

She blinked a few times and shook her head. "Huh...what?"

The redhead laughed. "You look like you just ate the best meal in the whole world. That, or you're under that moon curse again."

"Uh..." her voice caught in her throat. For once, she didn't know how to reply to that.

"And it's even weirder since you were just talking about José."

"I...was thinking about the baby," she admitted, feeling a bit embarrassed. Zoey smiled. As much as she wanted to say 'I told you so,' she kept quiet.

"Guys, we are losing!" Courtney yelled at her team. Team 2 had just been kicked off because they were missing half their team. "Get it together! It's not even the first half of the game and we've already lost two people! They still have all of theirs!"

"Well, we are missing two people as well," Duncan pointed out. "So that gives the other side an unfair advantage."

"Hmm..." The C.I.T. thought. "You do have a point, but Heather and Zoey are pregnant. We just need to push harder!!"

"Ugh..." The delinquent groaned. "You're hot when you're competitive, but not when I have to actually do something. And since when did Heather care about a life other than hers?"

"Since she met me, doofus," Alejandro cut in.

"Dude," The punk chuckled. "You must be on some serious drugs, then, because I highly doubt she cares about you any more than she-ah!!" He was plummeted with a soccer ball from the other team. "Ah...ow," he groaned, rubbing his head. "What the...?"

"The game started, amigo," Alejandro winked before getting into position. Duncan growled and got back on his feet. Stupid.

A/n- *Has world tour flashbacks...* aka, the Serengeti...

"Prepare to eat my dust!" Scott kicked the ball as hard as he could across the playing field.

"Oh yeah? Gwen! Pass me the ball!" Courtney yelled. The goth immediately dribbled over to her. She dribbled quickly and raced past Scott, who was too busy trying to get his ball into the goal. "LeShawna!" The brunette shot it across a few members of the other team.

"Got it!" LeShawna then dribbled over to Bridgette, who was right next to the basket.

"Over here!" She called, jumping up and down and waving her arms around. LeShawna tossed it over to her teammate, and Harold came shooting out from in between them, barely missing the ball by a fingertip.

"Yes!!" Bridgette caught it and quickly aimed it for the basket. Mike tried to stop her, but she was able to make it in.

"And that is 2 points for team 1!" Chris announced over a loud speaker, nearly deafening everyone. The score groaned went from 2:0 to 2:2."

"That's how we need to play, guys!" Courtney said. "If we just do that every time, we're sure to win! And whenever it comes down to the last two teams and we're one of them, we need to use that strategy."

"But...what if we're not in the last two?" Bridgette worried.

"We won't be if we don't use teamwork! Now who's ready to show the other team who's boss?!"

**

Owen, Noah, Izzy, and Lindsay were the next group to be kicked out. Then it was José and Trent. Then I was Alejandro and Duncan. By the time Harold, DJ, Geoff, And Tyler we're out, the score was 12:6.

"Guys, we need to step it up!!" Courtney said in their group huddle. "We have the same team number as them, but only half of their points!"

Suddenly, the whistle blew and the teams made their way out into the field. "Listen up, campers!" Chris's voice boomed. "Since there are only two teams left, whoever gets to 20 points first is the winner!" The speaker went off, leaving only the sound of competition in the air.

Scott cracked his knuckles and popped his neck. "So Courtney," he began. "Still think you can beat us with only girls on your team?

"I...hate to say this, but..." Cody gulped. "I think she actually can. Have you seen World Tour?"

"Yeah," he snorted. "But anyone could beat a pipsqueak like you."

"Ohhhh I so wish I was still in the game!!" Sierra growled, balling her fists. Alejandro held her back. "Let me at him! Let me at him!!"

Cody's face fell flat. "Well, I guess so, but have you seen her beat up a shark-"

"Enough, Cody!" The farmer snapped. "It's time to win this." They waited patiently until the whistle blew again.

"Gwen!" Shouted Courtney. "You know what to do!" Said girl nodded and threw her friend the ball, immediately heading towards the soccer goal to block it. Courtney held it right before dribbling.

"Mike," Scott ordered. "You and Cameron focus on getting our ball into the goal. Cody and I will take care of the girls over here..." he sneered, attempting to swipe the ball from Courtney's hands. However, she dribbled it from behind her leg and brought it out to the other side.

"LeShawna!" She passed it before running to help Gwen block the guys. Cody was blocking her, but she caught it anyways.

"Sorry, little man," she said, quickly dribbling away. Scott quickly ran to where the ball was now, and before he could try and block anyone, Bridgette caught the ball and made another shot.

Chef blew the whistle. "And the score is now 12:8!" Chris yelled.

"Ok, boys," Scott breathed heavily as their team huddled. "Any bright ideas?"

"Hmm..." Cameron started. "The girls team seems to be using the same strategy over and over again. Gwen starts with the ball, then she passes it over to Courtney, who passes it to LeShawna, who ultimately passes it to Bridgette, making it into the basket. I say that we create confusion by only sending me to defend our goal."

"And how the heck is that a good idea?"

"Listen," the bubble boy continued. "Since Gwen is the first of her teammates to come and block me, she will think it's way too easy and so will Courtney when she arrives. Bridgette and LeShawna will be too busy trying to defend their basket from you three to notice that I'm the only one in front of the goal. Therefore, Gwen and Courtney will leave and help their fellow teammates keep their basketball away from you guys. And finally, you, Scott, will kick the ball into our goal before they can even react."

"..."

"Wow, Cam," smiled Mike. "That's a great idea! Let's try it!"

When the whistle blew again, the boys knew exactly what to do. Cameron got in his place, confusing both Courtney and Gwen. They both left and did exactly as Cameron said they would. So now no one was blocking him from getting it into his team's goal.

He had to quickly step out of the way when the soccer ball came flying across the field. It made it into the goal.

"Yeah!!" The Guys team jumped up, high-fiving and fist-bumping each other. The score was 14:8.

"Good thinking, Cameron," Cody said.

"Pfft," Scott rolled his eyes. "I could've totally thought of that on my own."

"Ok," LeShawna squinted at the guys team. "By the look on their faces, they are definitely hiding somethin' from us.

"Yeah," Gwen agreed. "It was really weird how only Cameron was by the goal."

Courtney suddenly scoffed. "Those idiots have some real nerve to think they can confuse us!"

"Well, they kind of did..."

"But that was only one time, Bridgette! You know why? Because next time we are going to be fooling them!" Courtney's plan involved all of the girls blocking the other team's soccer goal. She Bridgette has proved to be the best at shooting baskets, she got to dribble the ball away while the men struggled to get past the three other girls.

They had made another point, setting the score 14:10. Then they made another basket. 14:12. Then the boys did again. 16:12. Then the girls did two more times. 16:16. Then the boys did. 18:16. The girls...18:18.

"All they have to do is make one more goal and we're toast!" LeShawna said.

"Don't think like that!" Courtney said. "All we need is another basket too. We need to use the same strategy we did at the beginning of the game. Gwen starts with the ball, passes it to me, I pass it to LeShawna, and Bridgette makes the basket."

"But they already know about that one," the surfer girl stated.

"Yeah, but instead of LeShawna passing it straight to Bridgette, she passes it back to me really quickly, making the other team run back and grab the ball from me. But then Bridgette gets closer and I throw it to her. LeShawna, you go help Gwen block the after you pass it back to me."

"I really hope this works..."

Scott somehow ended up with warpaint on his face. Probably by using dirt, Courtney thought. Idiot. The teams that were already out of the game were watching intently. Even Heather and Zoey had came and sat on the bleachers to watch the ending.

"Man," Zoey frowned. "It really sucks that our team didn't make it."

"I know, José and Trent must suck," Heather said.

Well I wonder why, José thought bitterly, clenching his teeth.

The sound of the whistle blowing got everyone's full attention. The two teams stepped onto the field, staring each other down as if they were in some kind of death battle. It may as well have been.

"Remember what I told you, LeShawna," Courtney whispered. She nodded. They waited for what seemed like forever until the final whistle blew.

Gwen immediately gave the ball to Courtney and sprinted across the field to block Cameron from getting the soccer ball.

The C.I.T. tossed it to LeShawna, giving her a reminding look. Using the same old technique, huh? Scott snickered to himself, running to grab the ball out of the receiver's hand. The farmer was taken aback when LeShawna tossed it right back to Courtney. Wait, what?

He spun back to the brunette and raced towards her, but was too late. Courtney threw the ball to Bridgette. Cody was right in front of the surfer.

"Cody, get it!!" Scott yelled. Cody jumped up in front of her, but tripped over his own shoelace, falling to the ground. Bridgette had caught the ball.

"No!!!!" The farmer yelled dramatically. "Mike, get over here and help me block!!"

"Huh?" Mike raised an eyebrow and the soccer ball was stolen by Gwen and LeShawna.

"Wait! Stop!" He chased after the girls.

"Mike, no!! Not that way!!" Scott huffed angrily. By the time he got up to Bridgette, she had already thrown the basketball. It was like slow motion. The ball landed on the rim of the basket and spun around for a few seconds. Everybody stared, eyes wide, on the edge of their seats.

The ball made it in.

"Yes!!!!" All the girls cheered, jumping up and getting together for a group hug.

"Noooooo!!" The guys fell to their knees.

"My poor Cody!!" Sierra cried out, rushing towards him. "Don't worry, I'll give you a hug!" She squeezed him tightly.

"Ah...S-Sierra..." he wheezed. "C-could y-you...let me...g..." he couldn't finish his sentence before she dropped him. Cody gasped for air as it filled his lungs again.

This is all your fault, Heather, José growled in frustration. If you and Zoey weren't gone, maybe we would have been the last team to play!

"I'm sorry, Zo," Mike frowned as he walked to his wife. The redhead laughed, hugging him.

"Don't worry, Mike. It was just a game."

"Yeah, but it was also money."

"And we have a little more than a month left to win this," she winked.

"All contestants to the campfire!" Chris's voice filled the air. "All contestants to the campfire!"

**

"Congrats to team 2," The host smiled. "The only girls team on the show. Man, I should've put Cody in this one too."

"Hey!"

"Anyways," he continued. "Since you guys won, you get 10 points and a night in the hot tub and mansion!"

"Whooo!" They all cheered. "Girls night!"

"Remind me," Heather said to her fiancé. "Why did you guys lose?!"

"We only had three team members. Duncan and Sierra were terrible players," he replied. "And although we were ok the same team in that game, you're not in my group, so it's not like you would have gotten anything if we won."

"You could've gotten me into that mansion somehow!"

Chris chuckled, turning towards the camera. "Will Heather and her team ever get to enjoy the luxuries of my mansion? Find out what happens on the next episode of Total...Drama...Reunion!"
