Cameras are off

Once he wrapped up the episode and the ending credits played, Chris turned off all the cameras. "Hurry up, Chris!" Chef called. "I'm starving and I'm not waiting all night for you to eat with me!"
"Ok, ok, the host whined. "I'm just making sure everything is turned off for the night. There, I'm finished. Let's go."
"Finally! I'm looking forward to that fried chicken and mashed potatoes!"
Once he was sure they were gone, José peeked around the corner. "Hmm...so this is where he gets all the interesting footage?" He whispered to himself.
The Spaniard explored the area, opening different drawers and looking through different files. He sighed, uninterested in any of it. Then he spotted an unplugged outlet in the bottom corner right next to all the computers. He carefully plugged it in, and the all computers were on-or...starting at least. I wonder how he gets them to record? Suddenly, his eyes widened. A sinister smirk appeared on his face. I have an idea..
José scanned the whole area, looking for any other plugins that could possibly activate the cameras. When he found nothing, he looked at the buttons on the bottom right hand corner of a computer. There was a brightness, volume, and record button. Jackpot. He slowly pressed it, body filled with adrenaline.
"I wonder what these people do when they think they're not on camera. Especially you, Heather." He laughed evilly, quickly leaving the room. "I'll be back to check on you in the morning..."

~Five minutes earlier~
"Wait...Lindsay!" Tyler called after his girlfriend as soon as Chris went to shut off the cameras for the night.
"Huh?" The blonde turned around, looking everywhere but at him. "Did somebody say my name?"
"Yes!" The jock caught up to her.
"Oh, hey Tyler," she frowned.
"Why did you make out with José?!"
"Um...I don't know what you're talking about."
"Don't play dumb!" He yelled. "I literally heard you say that you did on that video!"
"Oh! The bushes guy? Yeah! He's so hot!"
"But...but what about me? We've been dating for six years, Linds! You can't forget about me like you did on World Tour!"
"I didn't forget about you, Tyler."
"Then...why did you kiss him?!"
"Who?"
"José!"
"Because you cheated on me!" She glared. "We are so over, Tyler!"
Tyler furrowed his eyebrows, utterly confused. "What are you talking about?! I never cheated on you! You know I'd never do that!"
"Actually...I don't know, because cheating is lying and lying is bad! Sooo bad! So save your apology for your new girlfriend!" Lindsay began to walk off.
"But Linds, I don't have another girlfriend! You're the only one I love!"
"Why should I believe you when you've already lied to me once!" With that, the blonde was gone.
"Lindsay...please!" Tyler begged. When she was long gone, he sunk to his knees in defeat. "No..."

Cameras are on
"I really do not want to be in my cabin, especially after what happened today," Gwen said, sitting on the staircase next to Trent. "Agh! I should've known Chris was gonna show that footage!"
"Is it what you said about Courtney?" He asked.
"No...alright, yes. I think she deserved it, but I feel bad at the same time. She ran off crying, Trent! I can't stop thinking about it!"
"I know," he said, placing a hand on her shoulder to calm her down. "You know what we need to do to get your mind off of it?"
A smile slowly appeared on her lips. "What?"
"I think we should go for s late night swim."
"Really? But what if we get in trouble?"
"We won't. After all, Chris did say we were "mature" adults and we can do whatever we want."
"True," the goth laughed. "Fine. I'll go get my swimsuit and meet you at the dock when I'm changed." Trent nodded and they both entered the cabin and grabbed their swimwear.
"What are you two doing?" Cameron asked.
"We're just going swimming," answered Trent.
"No way!" Izzy chirped. "Can I come too?!"
"Uh..." they both looked at each other. "I guess?"
Gwen frowned as the her, Trent, and unfortunately, Izzy, all walked down to the dock. "Ooo...guys, this is gonna be so much FUN!" The redhead jumped up and down as she walked, then did cartwheels into the water.
"Remind me: why did we let her come with us again?" Gwen asked, already getting a headache from the obnoxious noises Izzy was making in the water.
"It's always nice to let someone come if they ask," Trent replied, shrugging.
"But look who it is, Trent." The musician turned towards the lake and saw Izzy trying to swim like a dolphin while making a high-pitched squeaking noise. "Ok, maybe you're right. But we can avoid her. Here, let's get in from the rocks." They stepped off of the dock and onto the sharp rocks, Gwen instinctively grabbing his hand for support. "Careful," he whispered. The sound of his voice sent goosebumps all throughout her body.
They eventually got in the water, carefully avoiding Izzy, who was now trying to imitate an octopus. "She knows she doesn't have eight arms, right?" Trent laughed.
"I don't know anymore," Gwen smiled, closing her eyes and floating on her back. She listened to the frogs and crickets, feeling the warm summer night breeze on her face and on the exposed parts of her arms and legs. It was a nice mixture with the cool water.
"You know," Trent started, getting on his back and floating next to her. "It reminds me of that Summer at Camp Wawanakwa."
"What does?" Gwen asked, although she already knew the answer.
"...This. You. Me. The water."
She raised an eyebrow. "The...water?"
"Yeah."
They both broke out in laughter.
"I think water can remind you of a lot of things," Gwen said once she caught her breath.
"Oh yeah? What does water remind you of?"
"Everything," she whispered. "Like you said, Camp Wawanakwa, the sky, and...well, it brings back memories too. Like...well, you know..."
"Not...really?" He chuckled.
"Sorry, it's just...I don't wanna talk about him."
Trent frowned. "Duncan? Gwen, if you're still into him, why don't you tell him-"
"No, I am not into him anymore. Believe me. Once I realized what he was really like after a while, I felt nothing. It got to the point where I didn't wanna work it out. I just...didn't care."
"Then why are you constantly bringing him up?"
"Because, I..." Gwen swallowed. "When I think of him, I think of what I did to Courtney. And when I think of what I did to Courtney, I think of what she did to him. And when I think of that, I think of what he did to her, and then the whole cycle just starts again with me. And if you ask me again, I will leave you in the water with Izzy," she smiled.
"Ok, ok," he laughed lightheartedly. "I'll stop."
"You'll stop forever?"
"Yes."
"No more Duncan?"
"No more Duncan."
"Good."
Trent stayed silent, his smile growing wider by the minute. He couldn't take his eyes off of the woman that floated beside him. The way the moon shone on her pale skin; the way her eyes twinkled in wonder as she looked up at all the stars. It had been so long...so long since he'd seen her like this. He felt exactly like he did whenever they would hang out on Island during their free days, with the exception of the past. But that didn't matter anymore. She was here, he was here. It didn't matter.
"What are you staring at?" Gwen's voice broke him out of his daze.
"Oh! Uh...nothing! Just, uh..." he blushed. "Just your-your hair!"
"My hair?" She raised an eyebrow, getting off of her back and feeling it. "What's wrong with my hair?"
"Nothing!" He answered almost too quickly. "Nothing. It's perfect. You're perfect." Crap! I didn't mean to say the last part out loud...
The goth's eyes widened, and a light shade of pink covered her cheeks. "Uh..." was all she could muster. Before either of them knew it, they were leaning closer to each other. Hearts racing at the speed of light, the pair closed their eyes, anticipating every moment. Trent's lips barely ghosted over hers, when-
"Hey guys! I found you!" Izzy suddenly popped out of the water, scaring them both half to death. "You didn't tell me we were playing hide-n-seek!"
Gwen frowned, taking a deep breath and letting it out. "Izzy," she stated. "We weren't playing hide-in-seek."
"Oh," her face fell. "Then you must have been playing Marco Polo? Do you guys even know how that works? Because I didn't hear any Marcos or Polos-"
"Izzy," Trent interrupted gently. "I think we're gonna go back to the cabin, alright ?"
"Yeah," Gwen nodded, faking a yawn. "I'm getting tired."
"Ok! Goodnight, guys! I might sleep in the lake tonight with all the fishies!"
"Isn't that..."
"Dangerous?" Trent finished as he and Gwen were getting out of the water. "Probably, but hopefully she'll figure it out when she realizes she has to come up for air."

A/n- This scene (a.k.a., my theories on Courtney's backstory) made me cry while writing it, so...yeah ^^
Courtney sat on the stairs of her team's cabin. She was not going on there. Not after what happened tonight. "That girl is psycho," Gwen's words replayed in her head over and over again. And it wasn't just her's. "I'd probably do the same if I were friends with her, no offense." Even Mike would pop up. Mike! Even the nicest guy on the show hates me! She lifted her knees and buried her face in between her legs, using her arms to hold herself in that position.
She knew it would be a bad idea to come back for a reunion. "It'll be so much fun!" Bridgette had told her a few weeks ago when they received the e-mail from Chris, asking them to come back for one more season."Yeah, right. Unless torture is your definition of fun," She had replied to her friend. Somehow, Bridgette was able to convince her and she rode with her and Geoff to get on the boats. If it weren't for Bridgette being on her team, she wouldn't know what to do. She probably would've left on the first day.
"Dude, I'll be right back, I'm gonna go get something to eat," she heard Duncan tell Scott from inside before he opened the cabin door. Stay still. Do not move. Do not move! She heard him slowly walk down the steps, and then he stopped. Oh no, please don't!
"Courtney?"
Shit.
He looked around and waited for her reply. When she didn't answer, he sat next to her on the bottom step. "Look...I'm sorry for what happened earlier today." Still no response. Duncan sighed frustratedly. He was getting pretty sick and tired of always being the one to apologize. "Are you just gonna sit here and sulk all night? Was it too hard for you to face the truth? To see how you act? I mean, come on, Courtney! What else did you expect?!"
The woman remained silent, her eyes burning with tears just threatening to come out. She didn't let him see her cry. She wouldn't. She took a deep breath, lifting her head and looked out into the night sky. "I expected people to treat me with at least a little respect. We're at a reunion for crying out loud!"
"Oh my gosh," the delinquent shook his head, laughing sarcastically. "You seriously expect people to treat you like a princess when all you've done was treat people like shit?!"
"I do not treat people like shit! I tell them what they need to hear! If it weren't for me, you'd probably be on the death row!"
"See?! That's the attitude I was talking about! You're always right, you're always in control. What happened to the Courtney I knew on Island?"
"Well she's gone now. If I were that laid back again, I would've never made it into law school. And where did being so laid back get you? Oh, yeah, that's right...PRISON!"
"At least I'm a likable person," he muttered.
"Are you kidding me?!" She yelled. "Nobody likes a criminal."
"Well nobody likes a prissy little princess with a pole all the way up her butt either!" He yelled back, standing up.
"At least I was honest in our relationship while you were going around screwing that...goth girl!"
"Well maybe I wouldn't have if you hadn't made a whole damn list of things that you think I need to change about myself! Seriously, what the hell is wrong with you, Courtney? What happened to you?! Ever since you came back in Action, you totally changed!"
"You wanna know what happened?!" She nearly screamed, standing up as well, fists balled. "When I saw the way you looked at Gwen, I felt like I was nothing to you anymore! It was like you just threw me away like...like GARBAGE!"
"I did not throw you away! I was still completely in love with you!"
"Then how do you explain what they showed on Total Drama Aftermath?!"
"Well maybe I liked Gwen too at the time. Courtney, that night was just a mistake! We weren't really thinking at all, and-"
"I don't care if your brain was on fire!" She cried. "If you were really in love with me, you wouldn't have done that! But of course, Gwen's just the perfect girl, isn't she? She has the perfect family and just the best personality ever! She doesn't sit up worrying all night about what might happen the next day, or how much more she could possibly screw her life up!"
"And what are you taking about, little miss perfect? Didn't you write a list for how your whole life was going to go? Why the hell should you be worried?!"
"Have you ever tried making plans for the future and swore to yourself that you wouldn't let anyone get in the way and ruin it?!"
"Oh, so now you're saying I ruined your future?" Duncan scoffed. "Unbelievable."
"Well you kinda did!" Courtney shot back.
"Stop blaming everything on me, ok?!! Cause I'm sick of it! Do you really think tearing people down is going to get you anywhere?! What if someone came into your life and tried to control every. Single. Aspect of your life?!!!! How would that feel, huh?!" Courtney covered her mouth as tears began streaming down her face. "And...and what if they only focused on your flaws instead of the good things? Or they wanted you to be exactly like them? Live up to their standards, live your life according to how they think you should live it?"
"Mommy!" Five-year old Courtney ran into the kitchen with her first report card. "Look what I got!" She had received all A's except for one class, in which she had made a B.
"I placed you in that upper level math class for a reason, Courtney!" Her mom had scolded. "I'll hang it up on the refrigerator once you've turned that B into a perfect A."
"No! You cannot go to that party! You have an essay to write!"
"But mom, it's not due for another month!"
"Well I know you'll make a lot of mistakes on it. Starting a month away is pushing it enough as it is!"
"Courtney, that prom dress looks hideous on you. It's shows too much of your skin. Do you want to look dumb and skanky in front of all those guys?! Gosh, cover yourself up at least!
"Courtney, you need to cut your hair. It looks terrible on you when it's long."
"You better make a 90% and no less on that exam!"
"You shouldn't have hung out with Duncan that night! He's nothing but bad news! I told you that our start falling behind in classes! You were doing so great until he ruined your life!"
"No, you cannot get a nose piercing! Do you have any idea how that would affect the way you look! You already need a lot of improvement as it is!"
"COURTNEY!" Duncan shouted, interrupting her thoughts. "Answer me! How would that feel?!"
The brunette blinked, letting more tears fall. "I-I..." she paused, taking a deep, shaky breath. "My mom. She would critique everything I did. I was never allowed to go to parties, never allowed to hang out with friends..." she clenched her fists angrily. "Not even allowed to keep my damn hair long! Everything had to be perfect for her! I don't know what she expected of me!! When I auditioned for this stupid show, I was hoping I could win and make enough to be able to go to The University of Alberta and become a lawyer."
Duncan's heart dropped to his stomach. "Did you...did you only want to become a lawyer to impress your mom?"
"No," she shook her head. "I really do want to be one. But...sometimes I don't. Sometimes I just want to take a break. I wanna be normal for once. Oh gosh..." she choked, realizing that she had become just what she swore never to be: her mother. "I-I was so terrible. I was terrible to you, terrible to Gwen, terrible to...everyone. But even if I apologize now, no one would believe me. I've done more damage than I can fix." She covered her face, now sobbing. "And...and where you came into my life...I thought that-" she choked again. "I-I thought that you were purposely trying to keep me from what I wanted to do. I never thought...you actually liked me. But then when I realized you did...i-it was too much. The very thought of someone liking me for me...it scared me. And then I guess I was wrong because...because when I saw you with Gwen, I felt empty. I felt-" she couldn't even finish her sentence before she broke down.
Duncan stood there, just staring at her in complete shock. Did she just...open up to me? He felt his heart break for her and explode for what she did at the same time. It was a very different sensation from what he was used to. Not knowing how else to respond, he gathered her in his arms, pulling her up against his chest.
Courtney tensed immediately, her eyes widening and her cheeks heating up. But quickly, she warmed up to his touch. Just like before. Hugging him made her feel so much better, although she'd never admit it.
Duncan felt her relax and only held her tighter, taking in the smell of her perfume and running his fingers through her soft, brown hair. He loved how familiar she felt in his arms. It scared him and excited him all at the same time. Suddenly, he felt like he never wanted to let her go. Never wanted to lose her again. Ever.
"This is the Courtney I wanted to get to know," he said when they pulled out. "She's real and she doesn't feel the need to be perfect."
"...Really?" She adverted her eyes away, as if she were ashamed.
"Really. And hey," he gently lifted her chin with his fingers. "Don't ever be ashamed of yourself. I don't care what your mom says. You're perfect the way you are, Courtney." She smiled at the way her name left his lips. Although she hadn't heard him say it like that in a while, she remembered perfectly well what it sounded like.
Duncan glanced down at her lips, then looked back into her chocolate eyes. Courtney only stared at him, her cheeks turning dark red. The criminal slowly leaned in, then hesitated. "You're still my princess, you know," he mumbled.
That's when Courtney closed the distance between them. His eyes were wide open at first, but after he got used to the familiar feeling of her warm lips up against his, he melted into the kiss. He let go of her chin and moved his hands to her lower back in order to pull her even closer to him. She brought her arms around his neck and held on tightly, deepening the kiss. Duncan reciprocated the movement, sliding his tongue across her lips. She moaned in response, allowing him to enter her mouth.
They made out until Duncan had her backed up against the cabin, pampering kisses down her neck. Courtney was in a complete daze until she felt him gently kneed her breast. She lightly gasped, and he immediately stopped. "Sorry, dammit...sorry..." He stammered, face flushed, eyes looking the other way.
Suddenly, Courtney felt a surge of adrenaline throughout her entire body. It was like she could never get enough of him. She grabbed his face and pulled him in for another kiss, this time more aggressive and needy. She slowly unbuttoned the top of his shirt.
"We-" Duncan groaned when he felt her fingernails lightly tracing over his chest as she planted kisses along his jawline. "...W-We need to go somewhere else to do this..." Courtney pulled away, looking a bit embarrassed, then nodded.
The delinquent took the prep's hand and led them both away from the cabin and into the woods. Duncan laid Courtney down on the only patch of grass they could find. He finished taking his shirt off and climbed on top of her, hands on both sides of her for support, and his knee rested in between her legs. Courtney noticed that he had gotten a new tattoo on his left bicep. It was a skull and crossbones with red roses surrounding it. She wondered what it meant, but figured that it could wait for later. "Are you sure you wanna do this?" He whispered, playing with a strand of her hair.
The C.I.T. nodded. "Yeah. I'm sure."
**
Heather lie awake in the bunk her and Alejandro shared. It was nearing 2:00 in the morning and her fiancé had been asleep for over an hour. Watching him sleep usually made her fall asleep, but not tonight. Or the past few nights, for that matter.
She sighed, not wanting to have to get up and get food from the cafeteria again. But she really needed food. If there was one thing she couldn't do, it was sleep when hungry. She slowly slid the covers off of herself, being careful not to wake Alejandro, and got up from the bed.
Damn wood! Heather thought angrily as she tip-toed across the squeaky cabin floor. And why did we pick the bed furthest from the door?! She managed to make it to the door, turning the knob, when-
"Heather!" She heard someone whisper-yell. Her heart skipped a beat, and she froze in place, not daring to turn around. Then she heard a heavy thump on the floor and flinched, fearing that everyone else would wake up. "Heather!" The voice came again. Swallowing, she slowly turned around to see Sierra.
Her eyes winded. "What?!" She whisper-yelled back.
"What are you doing?"
"Um...I'm going to the bathroom," she lied. Unconvinced, the stalker crossed her arms and raised an eyebrow. "What? I am! Now would you mind your own business?!"
"Really?" Sierra said. "Because you've been doing this the whole time we've been here."
"People have to go to the bathroom, you know."
"No," she shook her head. "I know you're not going to the bathroom, Heather. Every night you leave the cabin to sneak off, in awake and watching."
"Wait," She said a bit too loudly, then covered her mouth. "Come on," she grabbed her wrist, pulling her outside so they could speak normally. "So you...followed me every night?"
"...No," she answered. "I never said that. But I see you come back with a bunch of food."
"...Yeah," Heather laughed nervously. "I...like to grab a midnight snack every once in a while."
"But Heather," Sierra pointed out. "You always came back with a meal. And even dessert sometimes. Do you not eat during the day or something?"
"No!" She snapped. "I eat plenty, thank you very much." Suddenly, Sierra gasped. "What?!" Heather glared, a bit irritated at her hyper tone, especially at this time of night-well, morning.
"Are you...pregnant?"
Heather's face paled. "W-What?! No!" She immediately looked away.
"You are...aren't you?"
Pause.
The Asian woman looked back at her, her voice as serious as its ever been. "You can not tell anyone this, got it?!" Sierra nodded.
"How far along are you?"
"About three weeks. But seriously, if you tell someone, I can promise you that it will be the very last thing you ever say!"
"Does...Alejandro know?"
"...No," Heather shook her head. "And...it won't be a problem. Once were off this island, I'll...take care of it."
"What do you mean take care of it?!" She panicked.
"I mean...get rid of it, ok? It's no big deal," she mumbled, looking down and scratching her arm.
"Getting rid of it?! Heather, you can't-"
"I can and I will," she glared. "I don't want it, and I know he doesn't want it either. So please mind your own business and stay out of this!" She pushed past Sierra, heading straight for the cafeteria.
Sierra stood there in complete shock, tears burning in the corners of her eyes. Heather's pregnant... Heather's pregnant and she wants to get rid of her baby?
