Pre-Season Clip: Camper Analysis

"Hello Total Drama Fans; I'm your host, Chris McLean, coming to you from Camp Wawanakwa," Chris welcomed as the camera focused in on him relaxing on a beach chair, "Before we get the season started, I wanted to give you all a little preview of the campers in this season. This time around, there are nine returning campers from last season, and nine new campers, each being a loved one to one of the returning campers. I'm about to give you a few thoughts about how I think each camper will fare over the course of the season. Let's get started."

With that, the video feed switched from a view on Chris to a montage of each camper doing different activities on the island. As Chris ranted about one of the campers, shots of that specific camper appeared on the screen, before ending with a quote by that camper. With eighteen campers to get through, Chris felt eager to get started; electing to note the campers in their respective pairs.

--------

"First up is Ariton Alla: The Hotshot Freerunner, and Daniel Trieu: The Hidden Genius," Chris revealed, "Let's start with Ariton, he's the oldest camper this season at 23, and he's clearly a physical beast. His downfall will be his mouth; he seems to have a bit of arrogance to him that might catch the bad light of his fellow campers. If he can keep his mouth shut, he might make the merge, but I don't think he'll win. Daniel has a different kind of problem. He played a near-perfect game the first time around, and I fully expected him to win; his biggest flaw was that he put his trust in the wrong people when it meant the most. If he can find a way to manipulate the others so they won't even think of taking him out, he might be able to win it all."

"I envision myself as being the physical dominator in challenges. People will kinda have to keep me around in order to keep winning. Once I make the merge, that's when I'll go on a tear and win immunity 'till the end."- Ariton

"I got so close to the end last time, and I definitely don't want to miss out on the finals again. I've done a full evaluation of my game, made a couple different tweaks in my strategy, and hopefully it pays off this time."- Daniel

"Annie Mullin: The Graceful Singer, and Tory Eskerson: The Punk Rocker," Chris remarked, "With Annie, she's a bit of a package. She seems fit enough to win challenges, but social enough to make people like her. In order for her to win, she'll have to prove to everyone that she's more than just a pretty face. If she can become a strategist, she might be able to make a deep run. Tory on the other hand, has the strategic and physical skills to win, but lacks the social skills to become a big-time player; it's what separates him from a guy like Daniel. On the bright side, he has an exciting personality, kinda like Owen; if he can find a way to use it to make everyone like him, he might just surprise a couple of people. Otherwise, he probably won't do better than last season."

"I've always wanted to be on a reality tv show, and this seems like the place for me. If everything goes as planned, Tory and I will be in the final two, and we'll win money to fund our pursuit to stardom."- Annie

"Last time around, I got taken out because I tried to make big moves. This time around, I kinda want to lay back and try to fly under the radar a bit more. Hopefully it works."- Tory

"Karlie Zhao: The Free-Spirited Academic, and Amalia Rahela-Filipescu: The Studious Rebel," Chris commented, "Karlie is pretty similar to Amalia in terms of personality; a smart girl with the want to be a rebel. Amalia probably gave her a bunch of tips on how to win, and she's probably gonna try and play just like her. If that's the case, Karlie might go far, or she might be too aggressive and get voted out early. It's all about how she handles it. For Amalia, she may have won last season, but it's gonna be really difficult for her to win this season; she might be targeted simply because she has already won. No one in Total Drama history has won more than one season, but with her physical prowess and Daniel's willingness to help her, she could pull it off, but I see her being eliminated pre-merge."

"People will compare me to Amalia, but I don't want people to expect me to live up to what she accomplished last season. If I happen to win too, then that's awesome. If I don't, I won't think too much of it; it's a hard game and I can't expect to go far."- Karlie

"I made a lot of mistakes last season, and I don't want to make the same ones this season. This time, I'm going to trust Daniel with my life, and maybe hold back a bit in individual immunity challenges, assuming I get there."- Amalia

"Dallas Lowry: The K-Pop Enthusiast, and Anisha 'Rhythm' Singh: The Carefree Musician," Chris declared, "Honestly, from first impressions alone, I don't know what Dallas is doing here. There's nothing that really sticks out about her for me. Although, I did think the same for Rhythm last season; if Dallas is anything like Rhythm, she has a good shot. As for Rhythm, she managed to turn herself from a lonely floater into a powerhouse strategist. The problem that she might have this season is that now everyone knows what she's truly capable of. But if she was smart enough to slither her way to the final two last season, she could slither her way back again. I'll be optimistic for her."

"I may not look that threatening, but I promise you: I will make everyone here bow before me. For my family and friends back home, don't worry! I'll be back in a few weeks with a million dollars!"- Dallas

"I got so close last time; I'm not gonna make the same mistake twice. I'm back, and I'm ready to not only make the final two, but to take it all."- Rhythm

"Spencer Meyer: The Friendly Writer, and Fedor Meyer: The Arrogant Gambler," Chris narrated, "From first impressions, Spencer doesn't seem like a bad dude; which is weird, because he's related to Fedor. Spencer's biggest asset is probably his kindness; if he can play that up and build a good social game, he might just float his way to the end, and I'd respect that. Otherwise, he might be voted out for being a physical liability. As for Fedor, he has almost zero percent chance of winning this season. I think he's smart enough to realize that he opened his mouth too much last time around, but I doubt that any of the other campers will give him a chance to show his good side. If he can get past the first elimination and show his team that he's more than just a talker, he might be able to gain people's trust, but even I know it can be difficult to right the wrong."

"I'm pretty excited for Total Drama. I can get out of the house for once and maybe make some new friends. I just hope that Fedor doesn't ruin it for me."- Spencer

"After watching last season over again, I realized how awful I seemed to other people. But this is the season for change; I'm gonna show everyone that I'm not the same guy that got voted out second last season."- Fedor

"Alina Lyon: The Social Fashion Designer, and Callie Northcott: The Quirky Introvert," Chris declared, "This is the duo that I'm most excited for. Alina seems very similar to Veronica; she's physically fit, very social, and it wouldn't surprise me if she turned into a cunning strategist. I feel like she's gonna make the merge, but from there, her placement will depend on her ability to control the others. And you all know how I feel about Callie: she's really sweet, and I think her best quality is her loyalty. If any of these campers are smart, they'll be going to her for an alliance. But her kindness might be her downfall; if she trusts the wrong people, like Daniel did last season, she's gonna get blindsided again. If she can think a little more with her head and a little less with her heart, she might be able to go far."

"I'm pretty excited for this game. I've watched all the seasons of the show, and I'm prepared to adapt to whatever scenario I'm in. And hopefully, Callie and I will be in the final two."- Alina

"Last time around, I got taken out by the villain of the season. Since then, I feel like I've grown as a person. I don't know if I can be as cutthroat as everyone else, so I'm gonna try and play the only way that I know how: nicely."- Callie

"Cole Persson: The Emotional Actor, and Zeyad Farnas: The Fun-Loving Artist," Chris remarked, "In my mind, these two are the same kind of player: they seem nice, they don't have much of a physical game, and they might get themselves into a bit of trouble. With Cole, if his 'label' is any indicator, he might get voted out for his emotional instability. On the other hand, if he can fool everyone with his acting, he might be able to make a deep run. Zeyad on the other hand is an even bigger wildcard; he started out last season being a bit of a brat, but he was able to correct himself by the time that he was brought back. Like Fedor, if the campers give Zeyad a chance to show his good side, he could make a deep run. But I don't know if they'll give it to him.

"Looking at this game, it's pretty dangerous. But if Zeyad thinks that I can do it, then I'll give it a shot. I mean, Chris can't legally kill us, right?"- Cole

"I wasn't given a fair shot last time; I mean, I was voted out without a chance to be nice! I could've run far with Daniel & Amalia and then orchestrated their blindsides myself! But now that I have a second chance, well, third chance, I want to play a nice game from the start."- Zeyad

"Damien Olla: The Robotics Specialist, and Katelyn Lewis: The Tiny Leader," Chris stated, "Damien seems to be very comparable to Daniel; he's smart, he's pretty athletic, and he even has a girlfriend. His game depends on how he uses his skills; if he tries to discreetly push his agenda along and stays hidden, he might be able to take a spot in the final two. But if he shows his cards too soon; maybe if he attempts to go after Amaniel right of the bat, he could be voted out for being too aggressive. The same applies for Katelyn; she played aggressively right from the start and she ended up being targeted for almost the entire game because of it. She probably knows that, and she'll probably want to fly under the radar at the start. But I don't know if the other campers are willing to give her that chance."

"Being a robotics specialist, I pay a lot of attention to detail. I'm pretty sure that'll help me while I'm here, whether it's winning a mental challenge or telling whether or not someone is lying."- Damien

"I could've made the final two if Daniel didn't make his big move at the final five. But I'm not gonna go all-out just yet; I'm gonna lay back a bit, try to build up a bit of favour with the others, and then take my shot when I have the leverage."- Katelyn

"Lastly, Kavan Zhou: The Comedic Freerunner, and Veronica Dunleavy: The Wild Flirt," Chris revealed, "Much like Daniel, Kavan seems like an athletic guy who can be well liked, solely based on his comedic nature and personality. What I'm interested in is if he knows how to control his comedy; can he take this competition seriously? That's going to be a key factor in his success in this game. I think he'll at least make the merge, maybe even the top 10. He definitely has winner potential. And with Veronica, I genuinely think that she was robbed last season; if she didn't get blindsided at the top 9, she probably would've made it to the end and won. She was one of the very few people who could beat Amalia in a physical challenge and Daniel in a mental challenge. Out of all the returnees, she's the only one who could keep her strategy the same and still make it far. It wouldn't shock me if she made it to the top five; maybe even the top two. I have high hopes for her."

"After seeing my friends, Daniel, Ariton, and Kailer on The Ridonculous Race, I wanted to spend my summer having a bit of fun, and this fits the bill. If I end up winning, I'll be surprised, but definitely happy."- Kavan

"I'm back to finish what I started. If you thought that the Veronica last season was tough, just wait until you see me this season. Step aside Heather; the new queen has just arrived, and she's here to take her throne."- Veronica

--------

"Well, that wraps up my camper analysis," Chris revealed as the camera panned back on him, "I can tell that this season will be one to remember. With the campers competing with one of their loved ones, even tougher decisions will need to be made. Stay tuned for the premiere of the new season, cleverly named Total...Drama...Double Trouble!"

--------

A/N: I'd like to apologize for not posting at all over the past week or so. I needed to take a break to re-evaluate what I wanted to do with my time on Wattpad. After a long period of thought, I've decided to turn my focus to Total Drama Double Trouble and put off The Ridonculous Race until I regain motivation for it. I realized that I'd rather put out stories that I like writing and are (arguably) of better quality than force myself to write something that I'm not happy with. Thank you for reading, and stay tuned for the new season.
