Episode 6: Going To The Dark Side- Downtime/Elimination

"Welcome back to Total Drama Double Trouble!" Chris greeted as the cameras focused on him at the top of the pyramid, "Before the break, the Multiple Mole-Rats ran fast and managed to win another immunity challenge. And after having an abysmal performance in the last challenge, what do the Observant Owls have in mind for the next elimination ceremony?"

--------

The position that the members of the Observant Owls were in was a very odd one. They had just lost their fourth challenge of the season, yet both alliances in the team didn't seem to mind, and they happened to have the same goal. Both alliances had the goal of eliminating a certain camper so they could take full control of the team, yet both alliances were also set back by the temporary unavailability of Daniel. Veronica's alliance felt the set back completely; they needed the fourth vote to have a shot at getting rid of Annie, forcing them to think of a new plan.

"Well, what are we gonna do guys?" Veronica asked as she continued pacing, "What are we gonna do?"

"This might be the worse case scenario for me. I'm down an ally and we lost the challenge. Assuming that Karlie is going to stay loyal to Kavan & I, we have three votes against the other team's three votes. And I'm not interested in a tiebreaker."- Veronica

"Well, we all have to vote for the same person," Kavan reminded, "It's our only hope."

"But if it's 3-3, we have to go to a tiebreaker," Veronica noted.

"A marshmallow tiebreaker," Kavan added, "Which isn't good."

"Roni's a bit scared, and honestly, I am as well. But we can't just lay back and let fear control us. I know that we're gonna be fine."- Kavan

"It doesn't have to go to a tiebreaker," Karlie claimed, getting the couple's attention, "If I can convince them to split the votes 2-2, then we can use our three votes to get rid of Annie."

"What do you mean 2-2?" Veronica asked, confused, "They have three votes, just like us."

"They still think that I'm with them in an alliance of four," Karlie reminded, referring to Annie, Spencer, & Damien, "I'll convince them to split it between you two, then I'll flip and vote with you guys to take her out. It's simple."

"Coming here, I wanted to be the person in the middle; I could have multiple options, side with the people who I feel will benefit my game, and even if I make enemies, they'll have no option but to trust me in order for them to have any shot of winning."- Karlie

"Right! That's awesome!" Kavan exclaimed, now happy, "Y'know, I'm really glad that you're on this team."

"I'm glad that I am as well," Karlie agreed as she got up from her seat, "Well, I'm gonna go and talk to them. Wish me luck!"

"Not too much luck; we need some too," Veronica remarked as Karlie left the room, "Man....this sucks..."

"Why does it suck?" Kavan asked, confused, "We're staying! Karlie is gonna convince them to split the vote!"

"What if Karlie is playing us?" Veronica asked, "What if she's actually loyal to them and not us?"

"Even I'm paranoid at this point; I know that I'm the biggest threat on this team and that people would be trying to take me out eventually. It wouldn't surprise me if Karlie just flipped back, split the votes between Kavan and I, and then sent me packing."- Veronica

"I don't know how she plays; she could be loyal, she could be a backstabber for all I know," Veronica admitted, "I wish Daniel was here; at least I know where his head is at."

"But he's not here, and we can't just go to the medical office and convince him to vote with us; it's rude," Kavan reminded, "It doesn't matter if Karlie is trustworthy or not; we have to trust her."

"I get that Roni is scared, but there's nothing that we can do; it's out of our hands. It's all up to Karlie now to stay loyal to us and keep us safe. It's up to her to convince the other alliance that she's with them, and then backstab them."- Kavan

--------

It was intimidating that there was a whole other alliance that was poised to take control of the game. It made you wonder if you were in good hands with them in power. At this point, if you were anyone other than Veronica & Kavan, you could feel safe knowing that you wouldn't be targeted. Now that the Owls lost the challenge, Annie was ready to take her stand and eliminate the leader of the team. As of now, she was in the mess hall with Spencer & Damien, ready to continue strategizing.

"Well gang, we did it," Annie remarked, "We did it."

"The challenge went better than I could've ever hoped for. We lost, and now the plan is ready to be set into action. Veronica is out of here."- Annie

"Yes we did," Damien agreed, "So how is the vote gonna go? Are we all voting for Veronica?"

"I think we should split the votes," Annie admitted, "Guys vote for Veronica, girls vote for Kavan. It'll be a 2-2-2 split, and you two & Karlie will vote for Veronica on the revote."

"Do you really trust Karlie?" Spencer asked, "Because I'm not so sure."

"Do we have a choice?" Annie asked, "We need the fourth vote."

"I think that she might go back and say something to Veronica & Kavan," Spencer insisted.

"If Daniel was the fourth member of the alliance, I would be perfectly fine with a split vote, because I trust him. But now that Karlie is in the position of power, I'm kinda worried. I haven't had a one-on-one talk with her yet, so I don't know how she thinks."- Spencer

"Well, I trust her," Annie insisted, "I think her agenda is the same as ours."

"You betcha'," Karlie commented as she peeked her head through the doorway, "Hey guys."

"Take a seat," Annie offered, allowing Karlie to sit down at their table, "So, are you still on with us?"

"I'm down for finally taking control," Karlie confirmed, "So....I think we should split it."

"That's what I've been telling these guys," Annie insisted, "Spencer & Damien vote for Veronica, you and I vote for Kavan, and we vote for Veronica on the revote."

"I'm perfectly fine with this," Damien agreed, "We're gonna make it through, right Spencer?"

"Yeah, we're gonna make it happen," Spencer assured halfheartedly, "We're gonna get the power."

"If it were up to me, I'd throw all our votes at Veronica so even if Karlie flips, we have a chance at getting Veronica out. But I also don't want to face the marshmallow tiebreaker; it's too random. Hmm....as much as I don't want to do it, I guess I could use my invincibility statue on Annie to ensure that she stays, but I don't know if it'd be a waste. Ugh.....this is tough..."- Spencer

"Excuse me?" Cole asked as he popped his head through the doors, "Mind if we talk with you guys?"

"Go ahead," Spencer replied, allowing Cole & Tory to enter the room.

"We've been looking for you guys," Tory preficed before taking a seat with Cole, "And we were hoping to make some sort of deal."

"Now that I don't have to worry about being voted out, I want to set Cole and I up so we can be in a good spot down the road. I see that Annie has an alliance that could end up in power very soon; if I can slither my way into that alliance, I'll be a good spot if we can get to the merge."- Tory

"Are you four in a good spot?" Cole asked.

"We're gonna be in power after tonight," Annie answered confidently.

"What I want is for us to be able to work together," Tory explained, "If the merge happens at ten, we need six people for a majority. And how many people do we have here? Six."

"That sounds awesome," Damien agreed, "At least that's my opinion."

"Honestly, I think that this would be an incredible story for us; us six are at the bottom of our respective teams," Cole noted, "By working together, we're gonna become the people that everyone fears."

"Can I note something?" Spencer requested, not actually looking for permission, "Most of us are new campers this season; it would be so awesome for the new campers to actually beat some of the best old campers of last season."

"So I'm the old guy?" Tory asked, laughing.

"N-no," Spencer assured, trying to backtrack, "I didn't mean-"

"Don't worry about it, dude," Tory assured, smiling, "I'm fine with it."

"If our alliance gets into power, this is too big of an opportunity to pass up," Annie commented, "I think that this is the start of something new."

"This is blossoming into something even bigger than I ever anticipated it to be. If we can pull this off, I'm gonna be the leader of a dominant alliance that can literally steamroll everyone else into submission. Some people might think that I've gone 'full-tilt evil'. But hey, sometimes it's fun being evil; sometimes it's fun being on the dark side."- Annie

All that this deal showed was that when being faced with a common enemy, it brought out a sense of camaraderie among the members of the group. With this new 'alliance' in place, it was expected that all of the members would be happy. However, one person was still a bit on edge, mostly because it was their decision that would determine how the game would play out.

"I was dead set on voting for Annie, but this new alliance might change things for me. The last thing that I want is for people to come after me after tonight. If I got rid of Annie, I'll have at least four people gunning for me. If I get rid of Veronica, Kavan will be mad at me, but that might be it. This is tough....maybe I should talk to Amalia about this..."- Karlie

--------

It was no surprise to anyone with regards to where Amalia was. Immediately after the challenge ended, she followed Chris all the way to the medical office. As the medical office was in the camp belonging to the production crew, Amalia got a chance to pass Chris' cabin, the production's kitchen, and the luxurious lavatories along the way. And as much as Amalia wanted to explore, she was there for one reason and one reason only; to ensure that her boyfriend was okay.

"Is he alright?" Amalia asked as she continued to follow a nurse around the office.

"You can see for yourself," the nurse assured as she pointed into a room on her left.

Looking left, Amalia looked into the room and saw Daniel lying down on a hospital bed. He was asleep, and seemed to be in a fairly tranquil state, but Amalia couldn't help but notice the heart monitor, IV bag, and pulse oximeter around him. Even though he looked fine, Amalia was scared that Daniel was in critical condition. With the nurse's permission, Amalia took a seat next to the bed and gently held Daniel's left hand as the nurse left the two of them alone.

"Don't worry, Daniel; I'm here," Amalia whispered, "You're in good hands, don't worry."

"It hurts so much to see Daniel like this. Over the past two years, him and I have been each other's support systems. Since we both had to move to attend the University of Waterloo, all we had was each other. We helped each other out when one of us was sick, sad, or simply wanted comfort. So to see him like this, knowing that I can't do anything to help him makes me feel so bad."- Amalia

"Mmmm......" Daniel mumbled as he slowly opened his eyes and looked to his left, "Amalia..."

"Daniel!" Amalia exclaimed, excited that her boyfriend was awake, "How are you?!"

"Good, I guess..." Daniel answered as he fumbled around for the remote to his bed, "I've felt better."

"Don't worry; the world hasn't blown up back at camp," Amalia assured, "Your team lost, but you have immunity."

"I know," Daniel confirmed as he raised his bed into a semi-seated position, "Chris told me."

"What did the doctors say?" Amalia asked wanting to know more, "When are you gonna be back?"

"The doctors said that I'm progressing well, and that there's a good chance that I could be back tomorrow morning," Daniel revealed, exciting Amalia, "But there's no guarantee. I'm feeling kinda weak right now, but with a good night's sleep, I should be fine."

"I'm just glad that you're alive," Amalia remarked, "What happened on Boney Island?"

"My clue told me that the invincibility head was underwater, so I dove in, nearly froze, and here I am," Daniel explained, "By the way, I found an invincibility head, but please don't tell anyone."

"I promise," Amalia assured.

"Knock knock," Callie verbalized as she knocked on the door twice, "Mind a few visitors?"

"Go ahead," Daniel allowed, granting permission for Callie, Alina, Rhythm, & Karlie to enter the room, "Hey guys! What's up?"

"We came to see how you were doing," Callie answered, "You look great!"

"Thanks," Daniel thanked, "Bet my hair is messed up."

"Here," Amalia declared as she ran her fingers through Daniel's hair, "There you go."

"Love you," Daniel commented as Amalia leaned in and kissed him on the cheek.

"Want us to leave?" Rhythm asked, laughing.

"Nah, y'all can stay; that's about as much that can actually happen," Daniel assured, "Well, I need info; what happened after I left?"

"Zeyad was voted out," Alina answered, "We're all working together, and we won immunity. Except for Karlie, of course."

"Karlie, what's going on with the vote tonight?" Daniel asked.

"It's between Veronica & Annie," Karlie revealed, "I'm the deciding vote."

"Veronica's the bigger threat," Daniel advised, "At least in my opinion."

"Are you voting tonight?" Karlie asked.

"No; the doctors said that the earliest that I could return is tomorrow morning," Daniel answered, "That means that it's up to you to take out Veronica."

"I agree," Amalia admitted, "She could come after us."

"Personally, I want Annie out," Rhythm confessed.

"Why?" Callie asked, confused.

"Well, after the last ceremony, Tory is probably after us," Rhythm explained, "If we're going to weaken him, we might as well get his girlfriend out."

"Tory is after you guys?" Daniel asked, slightly intrigued, "What was the vote count?"

"4-3," Rhythm answered, "Callie, Amalia, Alina & I voted for Zeyad, while Tory, Zeyad, & Cole voted for Amalia."

"That's really interesting," Daniel commented, "Because before the 5th challenge, I made a deal with Tory that if he protected Amalia, I'd protect Annie."

The five girls around Daniel were left both surprised and shocked. As much as they wanted to comment on Daniel's efforts to keep Amalia safe, they were surprised that Tory broke his word so early in the game. Not only did this lessen Tory's credibility in their eyes, it gave them a pretty clear picture over how he was ready to play.

"So he totally finessed you!" Rhythm exclaimed.

"Finessed?" Callie asked, confused.

"It's a word that Dallas uses," Rhythm explained before turning to face Daniel, "He lied to you, dude."

"I know that now," Daniel agreed, nodding his head, "We can't trust him."

"Excuse me?" a nurse asked as she walked into the doorway, "Chris said that you girls need to head back to camp for the elimination ceremony."

"Karlie, you know what you need to do," Daniel insisted.

"You got it," Karlie assured.

"I'm still really stuck. If I vote for Annie, my new alliance will be pissed at me. And if I vote for Veronica, my old alliance will be pissed at me. I'm literally in the middle and everyone knows it. If I don't make the right decision, I could be going home soon. I just hope that I make the right one."- Karlie

--------

Within five minutes, all of the remaining campers (sans Daniel) were present and in their respective seats, ready to get the ceremony started. The Multiple Mole-Rats were more interested in getting back to the mini-mansion so they could rest in luxury, while the Observant Owls were ready to vote. Everyone knew that there was a power struggle going on, and they knew that the score was going to be settled tonight.

"Greetings, campers," Chris welcomed, "Now before we start-"

"Dibs on going to Boney Island!" Cole exclaimed, raising his hand.

"Fine with me," Chris allowed, "The boat is down the path; have fun and try not to die."

"I'll see you tomorrow," Cole declared as he got up and walked down the path, doing a backward wave as he did so.

"As much as I want to lie down on a queen-sized bed and eat like a king, I need to find an invincibility statue. It'll be rough, and I could end up like Daniel, but it's a risk that I'm willing to take."- Cole

"And with that, we can get to tonight's ceremony," Chris declared, "You know how it works: you go to the Confession Can, x-out the picture of the person that you want to vote for, I'll check & tally the votes, and then I'll hand out marshmallows to those who are safe. Whoever doesn't receive a marshmallow must walk down the Dock of Shame and leave the island on the Jet Ski of Losers. And one thing to note: Daniel will not be able to vote tonight, and because he was on the losing team, he will be granted immunity from tonight's vote. Therefore, you can't vote him out. Now vote!"

--------

"The queen stays queen, so you're out."- Veronica

"I'm gonna stand by my girlfriend on this one. And I can honestly say that I'm not sorry."- Kavan

"This is it. Cross your fingers, guys!" *crosses middle & index fingers*- Annie

"You've held the power for a long time, and it's just not working anymore. Sorry."- Spencer

"Coup d'état time. Let's make it count."- Damien

"There would be some people that are afraid to make moves like this, but I'm ready to do it. This is where my game begins."- Karlie

--------

"Alright campers, I've checked & tallied the votes, and the following people are safe," Chris began as he held up several marshmallows, "Damien, Spencer, & Karlie, you three are safe! Veronica, Kavan, & Annie, you three have received votes tonight."

None of the members of the Observant Owls were surprised. Everyone knew that the three of them would receive votes simply because they were the biggest targets in each alliance. While everyone wanted to be confident in their plan, they all knew that it would come down to one vote. Although no one was looking at her, Karlie felt nervous as Chris got ready to reveal the results, knowing that it would shock some people.

"The final marshmallows go to Kavan.......and Veronica!" Chris announced as he threw marshmallows to the two aforementioned campers, "Annie, you've been voted out!"

That declaration shocked almost half of the present campers. Annie, Spencer, Damien, & Tory were confused by how Annie could've been blindsided. Veronica, Kavan, Rhythm, Amalia, Callie, and Alina were elated that the person that they wanted out was going out tonight. And both groups knew who was responsible after a few seconds of thinking.

"Really, Karlie?" Annie asked, staring right at Karlie, "Really?"

"It's a game," Karlie replied, not batting an eye, "It's a game."

"If that's what you call it," Annie replied, frustrated.

"Could you hurry this up a bit?" Chris requested, "We've got a schedule to keep."

"Don't worry, I'm going," Annie assured as she stood up and began walking away.

"Enjoy yourself!" Karlie taunted, causing Annie to walk up to Karlie and stare down at her.

"We could've been the top dogs on this team, but I guess you're still a scared little puppy who won't leave the mother dog," Annie commented as she pointed to Veronica whilst keeping her eye on Karlie, "You don't stand a chance."

"I guess it's kinda fitting," Karlie replied as Annie began walking away, "I'm a puppy and you're a b*tch."

"Chef!" Chris exclaimed, knowing what would come next.

"Oh, that's it!" Annie declared as she turned around, only to be scooped up by Chef Hatchet and carried the opposite way.

--------

The remaining campers watched from afar as Chef Hatchet carried Annie all the way to the Jet Ski of Losers. Even though she knew why she was voted out, she was frustrated that she was voted out in the first place. She continued to scream and complain as Chef Hatchet handcuffed her to the jet ski, as she wanted to have the last word.

"Enjoy having a zero percent chance of winning the game, Karlie!" Annie screamed.

Karlie didn't see the need to talk back to Annie. Alternatively, she stuck out her left hand and flipped her the bird. All of the remaining campers cheered in amazement, and had Annie not been dragged from the island by the Jet Ski of Losers seconds before, she almost certainly would've responded back.

"Awesome job, girl!" Amalia praised as she placed her hands on Karlie's shoulders, "You've done a rebel proud!"

"I learned from the best," Karlie commented, causing both of them to laugh.

With that, Chris sent the campers back to their rooms, allowing him to take in the drama of the past few minutes. After a fairly mundane elimination ceremony in the last episode, this elimination ceremony certainly brought a smile to his face. Not only did it elicit drama, but it showed the true colours of some of the quieter campers, leaving him excited as to what would happen in the coming episodes.

"Well, after a bit of a power struggle, Queen Veronica kept her throne," Chris commented as he talked to the main camera, "Will Karlie be able to survive the wrath from her enemies? Will Daniel be able to compete next episode? And who will be voted off next? Find out next time, right here, on Total...Drama...Double Trouble!"

--------

"I'm pretty upset that I was voted out. I don't see how it was smart of Karlie to keep Veronica around. Maybe Veronica just has that much control; maybe Karlie is being hypnotized by Veronica. Either that or the people in that game are just too stupid to think on their own. I feel kinda bad that Spencer & Damien are now alone, but I know that they'll find a way to get revenge. But there's a bright side; I'll be spending the next few weeks relaxing at a luxury resort, and I'll be the first one to greet Karlie when she gets driven to the Playa de Losers next episode." *winks*- Annie
