Episode 3: Remembering the Basics- Downtime/Elimination

"Welcome back to Total Drama Double Trouble," Chris welcomed as the cameras focused on the host, who was standing by the campfire area, "Before the break, the Observant Owls got themselves immunity for the first time this season. With the Multiple Mole-Rats having to vote out one of their own for once, let's take a look at what they have planned."

--------

The cameras first turned their attention to the communal washrooms, where Amalia, Daniel, and Callie were currently discussing their plans for the upcoming elimination ceremony. The three of them knew that they were responsible for linking together the other alliance members, so all they needed to do was come up with a plan for the vote.

"Well...we can't win them all, right?" Daniel noted as he stood by the sinks.

"Of course not," Amalia replied as she stood behind a shower door, showering, "Still sucks."

"I'm sorry that I lost my round," Callie apologized, feeling down.

"Don't worry about it; we can't blame each other," Daniel insisted, "All we can do is figure out who we're voting out tonight."

"Now that my team has to vote someone out, it's time for us to band together and ensure that this team stays unified. And at the end of the day, as long as Amalia and I are still here, it's all good."- Daniel

"Well, we only have two options, right?" Amalia asked, "Zeyad and Cole."

"Right, and between the two of them, Cole is weaker," Daniel claimed, "Which is weird, considering we're comparing him to Zeyad."

"Can I suggest something?" Callie asked timidly.

"Go ahead," Daniel allowed, chuckling a bit, "We're not stopping you."

"What's going on with Ariton?" Callie asked, "He was really bad today."

"I tend to avoid people like Ariton; he's kind of brash, loud, and a bit of a hotshot. Yeah, he's strong, but we have strong people. I think we should at least consider voting him out."- Callie

"He's just not good at mental challenges," Daniel answered quickly, "Pay him no mind."

"I just don't like the way he plays," Callie admitted, "He seems too focused on himself than the team."

"Yeah, he can be a bit narcissistic sometimes, but he's a number for us," Daniel reminded, "We need to keep this team strong. Even though Ariton is annoying, we're all gonna be annoyed even more if we lose the next challenge."

"I can't let Ariton go; he's a crucial ally for me. Yeah, Amalia is my number one ally and all, but Ariton is arguably better for my personal game. I mean, he only listens to me, he's strong, and he's so much louder than I am; people would get him out over me. It's worth all the trouble to keep him around."- Daniel

"I mean, if Ariton is gone, we still have us three. Sure, we're not bodybuilders, but we're strong folk," Callie noted before rolling up her sleeves, showing her arms, and jokingly saying, "Do you not see the muscles?"

"I can't, but that's because I'm behind a shower door," Amalia noted, laughing a bit.

"Don't worry, Callie. You're a tough cookie," Daniel assured, causing Callie to giggle a bit, "I mean it; I didn't see it coming, but I'm glad you're here."

"Thanks," Callie thanked, trying to hide her blushing face.

--------

After Callie's extremely timid demeanor last season, no one expected her to fight like a warrior this season. But in a game like Total Drama, you had to expect the unexpected. If Callie was any indicator, you couldn't be one hundred percent sure of anyone's true character, but that didn't mean that you can't try and find out. For Spencer, he wanted to make sure his team knew that he was a good guy, so he rallied some of his teammates to play a game with him. Right now, him, Damien, Annie, and Veronica were sitting at the dining table, engaging in an activity in which they could learn more about each other.

"This says: I once knocked out a guy with a wrench," Spencer stated as he read a piece of paper, "Silly string at the ready?"

"Ready!" Damien, Annie, and Veronica replied in unison.

"I saw this game on Jimmy Fallon's show called 'Stranger Strings'. Basically, we all write down facts about ourselves, put them in a hat, we read them one at a time, then we spray the person that we think the fact is describing. The person who wrote that fact reveals themselves, we laugh, and we keep going. Luckily, Chris supplied us with a bunch of random art supplies to pass the time."- Spencer

"Spray!" Spencer declared as they began spraying each other, with most of the string being directed towards Damien.

"Why me?!" Damien asked whilst desperately swatting away the string.

"Do you think either of the three of us would even touch a wrench, let alone throw one?" Annie asked as she pointed to herself, Veronica, and Spencer.

"Fair enough," Damien agreed, "Yeah, it was me."

"Why'd you do that?" Veronica asked, curious.

"It was at a robotics tournament; one of my teammates wanted to make an adjustment to our robot, but everyone else thought it was fine, so I took the wrench and tossed it over my shoulder, and it clocked another guy straight in the head," Damien admitted, causing the other three campers to laugh, "Luckily, no one saw me throw it, so there was no penalty."

"Was the guy alright?" Spencer asked.

"Yeah," Damien answered quickly, "It took a few minutes for him to regain consciousness, but he was fine."

"That's a relief," Annie remarked as she reached for another fact, "This says: I was always invited to sleepovers where girls would practice kissing with each other."

"Well I'm pretty sure that rules out two of us," Damien commented as he prepared to spray someone.

"Hey, I don't know what you two do in real life," Annie joked, referring to Damien and Spencer, "Ready, set, spray!"

"Gahhhhhh!" Veronica exclaimed as her fellow campers sprayed her, "Why'd you.....alright, it was me!"

"Alright guys, we can stop spraying," Spencer assured, causing Annie and Damien to stop spraying, "Is that what girls do at sleepovers?"

"Not at my sleepovers," Annie admitted before turning to face Veronica, "How does that happen?"

"For some reason, almost every time I was invited to a girls-only sleepover, they'd want to practice kissing," Veronica claimed, smiling awkwardly, "And y'know, I didn't want to feel left out."

"How old were you?" Damien asked, now curious.

"I mean, we gotta know at this point, right?" *laughs awkwardly*- Damien

"It started when I was thirteen....and I think it stopped when I was sixteen," Veronica answered, "Probably because all the girls got boyfriends and didn't need to kiss each other anymore."

"What's this about girls kissing each other?" Dallas asked as she walked up to the group, causing everyone to laugh.

"Veronica made out with girls when she was thirteen," Damien answered bluntly.

"Actually, I never made out with a girl," Veronica insisted, "It was only kissing."

"Who kisses better: guys or girls?" Dallas asked.

"Guys for sure," Veronica answered quickly, "Girls kiss too softly."

"Rhythm would heavily disagree with that," Dallas claimed, proud of her statement, "I assure you of that."

"And I'm not interested enough to find out for myself," Annie admitted as she slid further from Dallas.

"How old were y'all when you had your first kiss?" Dallas asked, curious.

"I don't know why this turned into an episode of Dr.Phil, but hey, whatever it takes to get to know each other."- Spencer

"I think I was thirteen," Veronica answered.

"Same," Annie admitted.

"Honestly, I haven't had my first kiss yet," Spencer admitted timidly.

"Aw...don't worry about it," Annie assured as she gave Spencer a hug, "It'll come eventually."

"Thanks," Spencer thanked, reciprocating the hug, "What about you, Damien?"

"I was fifteen, I think," Damien commented.

"Was it with Katelyn?" Veronica questioned.

"Is she a good kisser?" Dallas asked, curious.

"Yes, and yes," Damien admitted, "I mean, you wouldn't think it from looking at her, but she's good."

"Well, you know what they say: don't judge a book by its cover," Spencer remarked.

--------

Given the correct circumstances, it would be best to spend time with someone in order to determine their true character. However, in a competition where campers are voted out almost daily, sometimes judging by observation was the only available route to take. For Ariton and Kavan, they preferred to judge by observation; in this case, they could rest by the second floor railing, drink bottled Coca-Cola, and rant about their fellow campers without being heard.

"Is it really that bad?" Ariton asked.

"It's ridiculous, dude," Kavan claimed, "Spencer put Tory and Damien on blast last night."

"It's a bummer that Daniel and Ariton aren't on the same team as me; they're two of the three people that I know that I can trust. Veronica is the third one. Now that I'm safe for the night, I want to talk to Ariton and ensure that him and I are still good."- Kavan

"Well, after what Spencer did in the challenge, I don't think he's going anywhere," Ariton admitted, "So be prepared to say goodbye to one of the other two guys."

"I don't even want to think about that," Kavan replied, "I'm more concerned for you, man."

"Don't worry about me; Daniel's out there somewhere making sure I'm safe," Ariton assured before taking a swig of his drink.

"Daniel and I are the perfect duo: he's the smart and silent type, and I'm the strong and loud type. We balance each other out like we're in equa....equi....equil....whatever. Anyways, it's good for both of us; I'll win the challenges and he'll do the thinking."- Ariton

"Besides, my alliance is gonna keep me safe," Ariton assured, "Zeyad or Cole is getting voted out."

"Just be careful," Kavan insisted, "Zeyad could easily convince the girls to take you out."

"All I need are five votes: me, Daniel, Amalia, Karlie, and Callie," Ariton noted, "Daniel has Amalia, who has Karlie and Callie. I'm not going home."

"If you say so..." Kavan replied before taking a sip of his drink.

"Ariton is always 'gung-ho' about competition; sometimes it hurts him. He can get so caught up in winning that he doesn't even consider the possibility of losing. I think it might come back to bite him in the a**; I just hope it doesn't."- Kavan

"Hey guys," Tory greeted as he joined the two men by the railing, "What's up?"

"Just hangin' out and watching over those guys," Ariton explained as he pointed to the group of campers spraying each other with silly string.

"Care to join us?" Kavan asked as he handed Tory a bottle of Pepsi.

"I'd be glad to, my man," Tory accepted as he took the drink from Kavan's hand, "What're they doing?"

"They're playing some weird game where they spray each other with silly string," Ariton replied as the three of them watched the game continue.

"Fine! It was me!" Annie confessed, laughing, "I did it for a dare!"

"I've always wanted to colour my hair," Damien admitted, "But blue is a really strong colour."

"Did it look good?" Dallas asked as she began playing with her pink hair.

"Nah; I dyed it back as soon as I could," Annie answered, "But then I had it dyed to ice blonde."

"Well, I'm sure that you would've looked good either way," Spencer assured, wanting to make a compliment.

"Aww.....thanks!" Annie thanked as she went to hug Spencer, who reciprocated.

"What...?" Tory muttered as he watched the scene unfold, "What is he doing?"

"Um...hugging Annie?" Kavan answered, unsure of what Tory was hinting towards.

"That is..." Tory began before pausing to think of the right words to say, ".....not good...."

"Fine, I get jealous easily. But can you blame me? Annie is such a good girlfriend, and not just 'cause she's hot. She's considerate, gentle, and compassionate. I'm not saying that she can do better than a guy like me, but I'm a lucky guy to be with her."- Tory

"Can't a guy and a girl hug without having to be in love with each other?" Kavan asked, more so to get his point across.

"Sure, it starts as a hugging, then it goes to shoulder touching, holding hands..." Ariton began, wanting to voice his opinion, "And before you know it, they'll be playing tonsil hockey faster than Daniel can do a quasimodo."

"What's this about me?" Daniel asked as he approached the group.

"Spencer hugged Annie and Tory's worried that he's trying to make a move on his girl," Ariton explained quickly.

"Uh....that wasn't what I asked, but whatever," Daniel commented, "Tory, do you mind leaving for a minute?"

"Eh, sure," Tory agreed as he began walking down a hallway, "Maybe it's best if I just tune the thought out."

"Good luck with that," Daniel remarked before turning to face Ariton, "Basically, you, Callie, Alina, and I are voting for Cole, while Amalia and Karlie are voting for Zeyad, just in case Cole has an invincibility statue."

"See man?" Ariton asked as he turned to talk to Kavan, "Daniel's got it under control."

"Look, I'm not the brains of our group, but I have to say this," Kavan insisted, "Daniel, are you sure that the girls aren't voting for Ariton?"

"If I hadn't convinced them by now, there's no point in trying," Daniel rationalized, "I'm pretty sure they're on board for voting out Cole. If they were going to make a move against you, they would've warned me at the very least."

--------

Little did Daniel know that in the female's side of the losers' cabin, Callie, Alina, and Karlie were being subjected to persuasion from Zeyad and Cole. The male duo knew that they were in danger of being voted out, and saw only one hope to save both of them; Ariton's attitude. If they managed to convince the girls that Ariton was too cocky for his own good, they might have a chance at staying.

"Remember: there's nothing more important than a team that gets along with each other," Cole insisted, "And Ariton has more enemies on this team than friends."

"I'm just scared that the next challenge will be physical," Karlie admitted, "Ariton is probably the strongest person that we have. He carried 240 pounds during the second challenge!"

"Yeah, I'm scared that we'll lose the next challenge, but I'm even more scared that this will make Amalia upset with me. Or even worse: Daniel will turn against me. The last thing I need is the two of them coming after me."- Karlie

"Hey, we may be weak but..." Zeyad began, wanting to say something motivating, "....fine, you got me there. But this is about more than just challenges. It's about having a good time!"

"Well, if we win challenges, I don't see how we won't have a good time being safe," Alina rationalized.

"Can you two just leave us alone for a few minutes?" Callie asked kindly, "We need to talk about this alone for a bit."

"Fine; let's go babe," Cole declared as him and Zeyad walked out of the cabin hand-in-hand.

"Do you guys think this is a good idea?" Alina asked as she got up and closed the door.

"I think so," Callie admitted, "I don't want him here."

"I know that Daniel will be upset, but I think he has a good enough heart to forgive me. Zeyad and Cole may be....athletically challenged, but Ariton is a pain in the rear. I think he should go."- Callie

"I think we need to at least give Ariton a chance to prove himself," Karlie insisted, "If Daniel can give him a warning over his attitude, maybe he'll change and we won't mind keeping him here."

"Sure, Ariton is annoying, but Cole sucks in challenges, especially the one today. I don't want to keep on losing challenges, and we kinda need Ariton to compete against guys like Kavan, Damien, and Tory."- Karlie

"Look, I get that making a big move can be scary, but that's how you win this game," Callie insisted, wanting to get her point across, "And if I'm brave enough to go through with this, you two should be fine."

"I'm not saying that we need to keep Ariton forever; just until we know that he's a liability," Karlie explained, "I think that we should keep him for one more episode, and if he doesn't improve, we'll vote him out at the next opportunity."

"Let's just lay out the facts," Alina suggested as she pointed to Callie, "So at the end of the day, you want Ariton out."

"I want Ariton out," Callie repeated.

"You?" Alina asked, pointing to Karlie.

"I want Cole out," Karlie admitted.

"So I'm the deciding vote, I guess," Alina rationalized.

"Just one more thing: we can't be split on this one," Callie reminded, "We either all have to commit to taking out Cole, or we all commit to taking out Ariton."

"The choice is yours, Alina," Karlie insisted, "Are we voting out Cole, or Ariton?"

"Attention campers!" Chris called out from the loudspeakers, "It's time for the elimination ceremony! Make your way to the campfire area now!"

"And I think you should make that choice now," Karlie advised.

"This is a big decision. On one hand, voting out Cole won't make our team stronger; it'll make us less weak. On the other hand, voting out Ariton might make us less cohesive as a team. It's really tough.....but I think I know what we need to do."- Alina

--------

Before long, all sixteen campers were at the campfire area and ready to proceed. While the Observant Owls took their seats on the bleachers for the first time this season, the Multiple-Mole Rats were on the elimination stumps for the first time this season. The tension was tight as everyone wondered what the results of the vote would be, as this vote would set the pace for the rest of the team's chemistry for the foreseeable future.

"Now, before we get to the vote, I need one volunteer from the Observant Owls to spend the night at Boney Island," Chris declared.

"I think Spencer wants to go!" Annie declared as she pulled Spencer's arm upwards.

"I do?" Spencer asked, causing Annie to wink at him, "Uh....oh yeah! Can I go?"

"Sure," Veronica agreed.

"He did win the challenge for us," Rhythm noted, "It's only fair."

"Alright Spencer, just follow the path to the boat on the beach," Chris ordered as Spencer got up and walked towards the path.

"Bye, guys!" Spencer exclaimed, causing his team to do the same.

"I wasn't planning on going to Boney Island, but if the team wants me to go, I'll go. Maybe I'll find an invincibility statue."- Spencer

"Now that Spencer is in the team's good graces, I need him to go to Boney Island and find something good. I trust him enough, and hopefully he trusts me enough to share his advantage with me if he finds one."- Annie

"Multiple Mole-Rats, after two spectacular performances in challenges, you find yourselves in the hot seats for the first time," Chris reminded, "For tonight, you'll each go into the Confession Can, x-out the photo of the person that you want to vote out, I'll check and tally them, and then I'll hand out marshmallows to those who are safe. Whoever doesn't receive a marshmallow will be forced to walk down the Dock of Shame and leave the island on the Jet Ski of Losers. Now go!"

--------

"We need strong people, and you're not one of them. Sorry buddy."- Ariton

"I hope that you're not too mad at me for this. It's just in case your boyfriend has an invincibility statue."- Amalia

"Please......let Cole be safe....."- Zeyad

"You're a nice guy, but it's a game. I hope you understand."- Daniel

"I really don't like your attitude. Sorry 'bro'."- Cole

"In one way or another, this team is better off without you. Sorry!"- Callie

"All I can say is sorry. This is just a game, and I've got to do what's best for me."- Karlie

"I went back and forth for a while, but in the end, I feel like I can't have a candid conversation with you without something bad happening. Sorry."- Alina

--------

"Alright, with all that done, I can now reveal that the following people are safe:" Chris began as he held up several marshmallows, "Amalia, Daniel, Karlie, Alina, and Callie, you're all safe. Zeyad, Cole, and Ariton, you've each received at least one vote tonight."

All three aforementioned campers had different reactions to Chris' news. Zeyad was terrified; he thought that the team would either get rid of Ariton for being annoying, or get rid of Cole for being weak. Knowing that he got votes made him wonder if he was actually the target. Cole was also scared that he was the target, but wasn't surprised by the fact that he got votes. Ariton was actually content; he figured that only Zeyad & Cole voted for him, so he felt that he was safe.

"The final marshmallows go to Zeyad......and Cole!" Chris revealed as he handed out the final marshmallows, "Ariton, you're gonzo!"

"What?! Are you f*cking serious!!!" Ariton exclaimed as he stood up and faced his team, "Naw, naw; this is a prank. This has to be a prank dude. I'm being punked, aren't I?"

"What show do you think you're on, dude?" Chris asked, confused, "You're out."

"Oh my God..." Ariton muttered before looking directly at his team, "Daniel, get over here."

"Uh.....okay?" Daniel agreed as he got up and stood next to Ariton.

"You all are f*cking idiots, point blank," Ariton insisted, "F*cking idiots."

"Well, who's still in the competition?" Amalia pointed out, ready for a confrontation.

"Yeah! She's right!" Karlie agreed, "You're just making a fool of yourself!"

"We made the right choice!" Callie added, "Bye!"

"Oh you little-" Ariton began before getting his mouth covered by Daniel.

"Just go to the dock, man," Daniel insisted, "You're wasting your breath."

--------

After some persuasion, Ariton began making his way down the Dock of Shame, with Daniel walking with him as his main companion. Unlike the other eliminations, none of the other campers came to see him leave; after his final speech, everyone was glad that he was leaving, and returned to their cabins without saying goodbye. Kavan would've liked to see his friend one more time, but he knew that Veronica would be upset. Thus, Daniel was the only one left to see Ariton leave.

"Dude, don't trust them," Ariton insisted as Chef Hatchet handcuffed him to the Jet Ski of Losers, "They're gonna lie straight to your face. Don't believe a word that they say."

"I think I'll be fine man," Daniel assured as he tapped his friend on the shoulder, "Don't worry about me."

"Oddly enough, I'm more offended than surprised. I thought the girls respected me enough to let me know of any plan. I really hope that Amalia wasn't involved in the plan, because that's gonna start something that I don't even want to think of. I need to reset and figure out where I stand in the group."- Daniel

"I'll see you in a few weeeeeeeeeee------!" Ariton screamed as the Jet Ski of Losers took off towards Playa de Losers, eventually disappearing into the distance.

With that, Daniel walked back towards the cabins, leaving Chris to think about the past few minutes. Chris knew that Daniel just lost one of his closest allies, leaving one of the most promising campers much weaker from a gameplay standpoint. Although he was supposed to remain impartial, Chris couldn't help but feel bad for Daniel. But he also knew that this would be a test for Daniel to see if he truly is a good player; if he's as good as the fans believe he is, he should be able to get out of this sticky situation.

"Well, looks like talking too much can actually be a bad thing," Chris remarked as he talked to the main camera.

"I would never have thought that," Chef Hatchet remarked sarcastically.

"Anywho....will Daniel survive the loss of one of his closest allies? Will Spencer find anything on Boney Island? And who will be voted out next?" Chris asked rhetorically, "Find out next time, right here, on Total...Drama...Double Trouble!"

--------

Final Words:

"I'm just shocked. I really thought that Daniel had it under control and that Cole was out. But I can't blame him; it was all because of the girls. They're so fake that a plastic surgeon couldn't do anything more. I hope Daniel learns to not trust them and does what's right. And if that team thinks that voting out their strongest member will help them win challenges, then I hope that they lose. Daniel, I'm counting on you and Kavan to bring it home for the boys. I know that you're smart enough to do it, so I want to see y'all do it. This is 'Air-Time' Ariton, signing off."- Ariton
