Episode 2: Blood vs Water- Downtime/Elimination
"Welcome back to Total Drama Double Trouble!" Chris welcomed as the main camera showed him standing at the campfire area, "Before the break, Callie managed to pull off a victory for the Multiple Mole-Rats, forcing the Observant Owls to vote someone out tonight. With the elimination ceremony coming up fast, let's take a look at what the campers have planned."
--------
The cameras first turned their attention to the mess hall, where Rhythm, Dallas, Veronica, Kavan, and Damien gathered to talk about the upcoming elimination ceremony. They all knew what was on the agenda with regards to who to vote for, so they all just wanted to get assurance that the vote would go the way that they wanted it to go. They were all gathered around a table, as if it were an important business meeting.
"Alright team, I've gathered you all here today to talk about a plan for tonight's voteoff," Veronica declared as she sat at the head of one of the tables, "Together, we have five votes, so we need to decide who to vote out."
"Now that we've lost an actual challenge, I need to make sure that Kavan, Rhythm, Dallas and I have the votes to stay."- Veronica
"Well I can tell you who I want out," Damien admitted, "I think it's Fedor's time to go."
"Yes, it's gonna be hard to pull off; after all, he didn't really do anything wrong today. But I'm gonna do everything in my power to get him out."- Damien
"Yes, he didn't really do anything wrong, but he didn't do anything right," Damien noted, "For one, he didn't volunteer for the challenge today."
"Do you think he would've done better than Tory?" Rhythm asked.
"I mean, I definitely think that Tory gave out earlier than he could've, but I feel like Fedor had a shot at lasting longer," Damien claimed, "If I'm being honest."
"I feel like anyone not in the challenge could've done better than Tory," Dallas insisted, "And in that case, Tory should be the one voted out."
"We need stability on this team; Tory talks a big game like he's the 'man of the hour', but his effort in the challenge was absolutely pathetic. He needs to go."- Dallas
"Well, we only have five votes," Kavan reminded, "We can't split the vote and pick a target later. We've all got to commit to taking out one person."
"Tory can't be relied upon to help us win," Dallas claimed, wanting to push her plan forward, "I think we're better off kicking him out now before he does any more damage."
"The thing is that I trust Tory more than Fedor," Rhythm admitted, "I would feel confident in saying that Tory would stay loyal to us for now."
"And you don't think that Fedor would stay loyal?" Dallas asked, confused.
"I've played against Fedor; he's a leech for any team that he's on," Rhythm insisted, "And I'm not buying his 'nice guy' act."
"I agree," Veronica admitted, "If Katelyn can pull off a fake smile, then Fedor can too."
"I really feel like Tory is more dangerous to us because he doesn't put in the effort to make us a closer team," Dallas contested, "Has he talked to any of us outside of the challenge."
"He talked to me yesterday," Damien admitted, "Although most of it was when we planned to vote for Veronica."
"Oh! And he wants to take out the strongest member of our team!" Dallas noted, trying to work any angle she could, "He's bad news!"
"What's this about bad news?" Tory asked as him and Annie walked into the mess hall.
"Um..." Dallas muttered, unsure of what to say.
"We were talking about Fedor," Rhythm claimed quickly, "We're thinking about voting for him."
"Not gonna lie, I'm pretty suspicious about Rhythm & Dallas. I mean, when your teammates start a meeting that you're not invited to, you begin to feel that you're the one being targeted. But of course, they don't have to know that I know what's going on."- Tory
"Well, how about this?" Tory began as he took a seat at the table, "We have seven votes together, so why don't we just split the votes 4-3 against Fedor & Spencer."
"I like that," Damien admitted, smiling, "As long as Fedor is the one that goes."
"That good with you, babe?" Tory asked to Annie.
"I'm fine with that," Annie admitted.
"I think it's fine," Kavan agreed, "Good with you, Roni?"
"I'm fine with it," Veronica admitted before turning to face Rhythm & Dallas, "All we need is you two."
"We'd be glad to go along with it, right?" Rhythm declared as she turned to face Dallas.
"Yeah...yeah that's fine," Dallas conceded, upset.
"All we need to do is figure out how we're splitting the votes," Veronica noted, "How about...Rhythm, Dallas, Annie, and Tory vote for Fedor, while Kavan, Damien & I vote for Spencer."
"Yeah, that'll work," Damien agreed.
"I would've liked to be the one to vote for Fedor, but as long as Fedor gets voted out tonight, I'm fine with throwing a vote towards Spencer. I've gotta be a team player so my teammates know that I can be trusted."- Damien
"Good," Veronica remarked, "Everyone's happy."
"Yeah..." Dallas agreed halfheartedly.
"How could these guys not see it! Tory is 100% the person that needs to go tonight! Yes, Fedor appears to be untrustworthy, but he won't have the chance to betray us if we don't lose in the first place. I'm not giving up on getting rid of Tory, and he will go down tonight."- Dallas
--------
If anyone questioned Dallas' dedication to the game, they had no reason to do so now. She entered the game wanting to be in full control; sort of like Heather's game in season one. One thing that she didn't want to do was relax; in a game for a million dollars, she felt that resting meant giving up, and she wasn't about to give up so early. However, some people would argue that relaxation was needed to prevent you from running mad with power. For Daniel & Ariton, they wanted time to relax after giving a grueling effort in the last challenge. To do this, they decided to relax in the spa of the mini-mansion.
"Y'know, I might start going to spas when we get home," Ariton admitted as he received a massage from an intern.
"Told you this place would be cool," Daniel commented as he laid back whilst in the hot tub.
"Y'know what? I'll join you," Ariton declared as he got up from the massaging table and slid into the hot tub, "Huh, this is pretty nice after all."
"And I'm right once again, hehe," Daniel joked.
"This is why it's great to win," Ariton noted, "The more we win, the more that we get to rest in paradise."
"You think that this is paradise? Playa de Losers is paradise," Daniel corrected, "Considering that we have an outdoor pool, an ninety inch television, and a breakfast buffet, I feel like the standards there are much higher."
"Well, this place is gonna have to do," Ariton remarked, "I'm not ready to get voted out."
"This place is amazing, and I'm hoping that my teammates think so too. Because if they want to keep winning, their best odds of winning challenges are if they keep me here. I'm easily the strongest one on the team, and I'd like to think that I was a big reason why we won today. Not to take away Callie's effort or anything, but lifting 240 pounds isn't easy either."- Ariton
"Dude, do you think that our alliance will hold?" Ariton asked.
"I mean, I trust them enough to not vote us out before Zeyad & Cole," Daniel answered, "Do I think that they'll keep us over each other? No."
"Last season, backstabbing others was somewhat easy for me because I had no prior connection to the people that I was betraying. This season, it's gonna be a bit harder to get people to betray others because we all have some form of a connection with one another. Like last season, Amalia had no problem betraying me because we hadn't known each other for that long. Now that we've been dating for two years, I feel like our relationship is strong enough that she wouldn't vote me out."- Daniel
"Then what's the benefit in getting rid of Zeyad & Cole when we're the next lowest on the totem pole?" Ariton pointed out.
"Well, that's assuming that we lose the next three challenges," Daniel noted, "We're probably going to get a team swap before then and our strategy will have to change."
"What if there is no team swap? What if Chris throws a wrench in our plans and tells us we're stuck with our teams until the merge?"
"Then you better hope that we win challenges," Daniel rationalized, "The worst thing that we can do is panic."
"No, the worst thing that we can do is wait around for people to vote us out," Ariton corrected.
"You're both wrong," a man interjected from the doorway to the spa, "The worst thing that you can do is hold a 'man-meeting' and not invite us!"
Wtih that, Zeyad & Cole ran into the spa and invited themselves into the hot tub. Not only did this annoy Daniel and Ariton, it also made them a bit uncomfortable. For Daniel, he just wasn't comfortable being in the same area as a bunch of shirtless people, but that was just a part of his personality. As for Ariton, he had no problem being around shirtless men; it was more about the personality of the men around him.
"How's it going?" Zeyad asked, trying to be social.
"I'm....gonna go get a snack..." Ariton declared as he got out of the hot tub, grabbed a towel, and walked out of the spa.
"Look, I'm not homophobic or anything like that, but would you want to be the only straight person in a hot tub? Me neither."- Ariton
"What's with him?" Cole asked, confused.
"Don't mind him; he expected it to be just him and I," Daniel claimed, attempting to cover for his friend.
"Kind of a hunk, ain't he?" Cole proposed.
"To each their own," Daniel replied, not wanting to answer that question.
"Where was I? Oh yeah: what's up?" Zeyad asked.
"Did you some to socialize or strategize?" Daniel responded, wanting to get to the point, "I'd appreciate honesty."
"We just want to know where we stand in the team," Zeyad admitted, "Are we at the bottom?"
"I wouldn't say that you guys are at the bottom; we're all pretty equal in one way or another," Daniel answered, trying not to give away his plans, "Although if someone has to go first, you guys are definitely going to come up in the conversation."
"My goal is to make them feel like I'm on their side, but also to make them feel that they need to prove themselves to the team. The more focused they are on helping this team win, the more that our team will be able to starve off voting people out. But if the time comes that we have to vote someone out, as it stands now, they're definitely the first ones to go."- Daniel
"Do you think that we need to do any campaigning?" Cole asked, "Y'know, we don't want to start too late."
"I think our focus should be directed towards winning challenges; if we're going to win, we need to believe that we're going to win," Daniel insisted, "The more that we prove ourselves in challenges, the more likely that we're going to stay."
"This is kind of a tough spot for Zeyad and I because we're on a team with three campers who are close friends, and three other campers who are aligned with the other three. Zeyad and I are pretty much on the outside. I don't know if Daniel really wants us here, but he's kind of our only hope. If we lose the next challenge, we need him to make a big move."- Cole
--------
Making big moves was a necessity in this game; all it took was one move to send you from the bottom to the top. However, making big moves wasn't easy; you needed the votes to make it happen. Sometimes, getting the votes required you to do difficult things, such as trusting those who can't always be trusted. Right now, outside the communal bathrooms, Dallas was forced to do this with Fedor & Spencer. She still wanted Tory to be voted out, and decided to take matters into her own hands.
"I'm telling you: if you two do not go through with this plan, one of you is being voted out," Dallas warned.
"I've got no problem with getting blood on my hands; it's a cutthroat game and we need to go at each other if we want to win. If my alliance doesn't want to go my way, I'll make them go my way."- Dallas
"Do we even have the votes?" Fedor asked, concerned, "I mean, obviously it's us three and Rhythm, but what about the 5th vote?"
"We will have the votes," Dallas assured, "Kavan's our 5th vote; he's such a nice guy that he'll do what's best for the team. And what's best for the team is for Tory to be voted out."
"It's good to know that Dallas is watching out for Spencer and I. I knew that I'd be a target for elimination if we lost, and it seems like the hit is on me tonight. Hopefully Dallas can get Kavan with us."- Fedor
"Thank you for telling us this," Spencer thanked, trying to be nice, "After all that's happened over the past few days, it's good to know that we can trust someone."
"I hear that," Dallas agreed, "All I need is for you two to stay put and I'll get the job done."
"Are you sure that Rhythm is alright with this?" Fedor asked, "I don't think I ever talked with her before this season."
"Hey!" Rhythm called out as she ran towards the trio, "Do you need me for something?"
"Why don't you ask her?" Dallas suggested before turning to face her girlfriend, "We're voting for Tory tonight, right?"
"Dallas...we need to talk..." Rhythm declared before pulling Dallas into the communal washroom.
"That's not good..." Spencer remarked.
"No kiddin'," Fedor agreed before taking off towards the losers' cabin, "I'll be back!"
"This could be bad; if Rhythm refuses to go through with the plan, either Spencer or I will be voted out; and it'll probably be me! I'm not gonna sit around and hope for Rhythm to change her mind; I gotta go to Kavan & Veronica and convince them to keep me. Pray for me, Canada!"- Fedor
"What's the problem?" Dallas exclaimed from inside the communal washrooms.
"You can't just go out and make a new plan without consulting me first!" Rhythm reminded, "We're a team!"
"Look, I'm doing the exact thing that you did last season," Dallas claimed, "If our alliance doesn't want to vote for Tory, I'm gonna rally the votes against him myself."
"I know that you want to play hard, but that's for later in the game!" Rhythm insisted, "You can't play aggressive from the start! That's what gets you voted out!"
"You made a big move early last season and you made it to the final two!" Dallas retorted, determined to have her way, "How is this different?"
"The difference is that when I made my move to betray Katelyn and align myself with Zeyad, I had people to turn to for a backup plan," Rhythm answered, "I made an alliance with Veronica and she helped me run far. Right now, we don't have a backup plan! If we make this move, Veronica and Kavan are gonna be upset with us, Damien will still be after Fedor, and Annie is gonna be pissed that we voted out her boyfriend."
"I like that Dallas is ready to go 'full steam ahead' and run the game, but it's better for us to float for a while and then make our move when no one expects it. The last thing that I want is for her to get voted out because of something that I could stop."- Rhythm
"Do I think that we can pull it off? Maybe. Should we do it? No," Rhythm rationalized, "It's too big a risk for us both."
Dallas was prepared to spit out a conflicting argument, but before she spoke, she realized that she had none. As much as she wanted to prove her point and make the move, she knew that Rhythm knew how to successfully play the game. Whenever Rhythm showed concern over their future in the game, Dallas had to listen, even if it meant abandoning her own plans.
"I.....am so happy that you're here," Dallas conceded as she leapt into Rhythm's arms and kissed her.
"Same here, babe," Rhythm agreed, disengaging from the kiss, "We balance each other out."
"You betcha'," Dallas agreed before going in for another kiss, "Love ya'."
"Love you too," Rhythm replied.
"Are you guys done in there?" a woman asked from outside the door.
"Sh*t!" Dallas remarked as she let go of Rhythm, walked to the door and opened it, revealing Annie standing confused, "Oh! Uh....yeah...sorry about that. Did you hear anything about what we said?"
"We heard all that you were doing," Annie emphasized, smiling, "Spencer and I were talking when you and Rhythm were 'gettin' it on' in there. Haha."
"Yeah....sorry that you had to hear that," Rhythm apologized.
"Don't worry about it," Annie assured, "I've heard worse."
"Calling all campers!" Chris called out from the loudspeakers, "It's time for the elimination ceremony! Please head to the campfire area now!"
"Let's go gang," Rhythm ordered as she lead the way, "We've got a vote to get to."
--------
Eventually, all seventeen campers made their way to the campfire area; while the Multiple Mole-Rats sat in the bleachers, content with their victory, the Observant Owls uncomfortably took their seats on the stumps by the fire. With all of the pandemonium that had gone on moments before the ceremony, no one was 100% certain with how the vote would play out. All they could do was vote the way that they felt was right.
"Welcome campers to the elimination ceremony!" Chris welcomed, "And...before we get to the vote, I'll need a volunteer from the Mole-Rats to head to Boney Island!"
"How about this: since Callie pretty much won the challenge for us, let's let her decide," Daniel suggested to which everyone on the team agreed.
"I'd like to go to Boney Island, but I know that it's gonna put a bigger target on my back if I do go. I'll let someone else go and maybe they'll be targeted instead."- Zeyad
"Um..." Callie muttered as she thought about her decision, "Can I send myself?"
"Are you sure, Callie?" Chris asked, a bit concerned, "It's pretty tough out there."
"I'm sure," Callie assured, "I don't want these guys to suffer out there; I'll do it."
"Last season, I was targeted because Katelyn thought that I was untrustworthy. I want my team to know that they can count on me to take the fall for them. If spending a night on a cold, dark island means that I get to stay a bit longer, I'll do it."- Callie
"See you tomorrow, guys!" Callie exclaimed as she got out of the bleachers and began heading towards the beach.
"Bye, Callie!" replied the remaining members of her team as they watched her head down a path towards the beach.
"Anyways, it's time for the vote," Chris declared, "As usual, you'll enter the Confession Can and x-out the photo of the camper that you want to vote out. After checking the votes, I'll hand out marshmallows to the campers who are safe. Whoever doesn't receive a marshmallow will be forced to walk down the Dock of Shame and ride the Jet Ski of Losers away from the island. Now vote!"
--------
"Sorry that I had to lie to you. Sometimes we just don't get our way."- Dallas
"I just think it's best for my game if you are gone. Nothing personal."- Annie
"Please, just let me have another chance! I want to be here!"- Fedor
"You took out my girlfriend, and now it's time for me to take you out."- Damien
"I just don't know if I can trust you. Sorry man."- Rhythm
"I think you're a good person, but I don't want to rustle any feathers. Sorry."- Veronica
"I wish that we got to talk more. Maybe when I get voted out we can talk at Playa de Losers."- Kavan
"I really hope it's you tonight and not me."- Tory
"I hope that you can forgive me for this when I'm here tomorrow."- Spencer
--------
"Alright, I've checked the votes, and the following people are safe," Chris began as he held a platter of marshmallows in front of him, "Veronica, Kavan, Annie, Dallas, Rhythm, and Damien, congrats. Fedor, Spencer, and Tory, you've each received at least one vote."
Fedor, Spencer, and Tory watched anxiously as Chris tossed marshmallows to the six aforementioned teenagers. Fedor was the most concerned, knowing that he wasn't well liked among his teammates. Spencer was fairly worried, wondering if he would be voted out after not doing anything negative. Tory was confident that he had the votes to stay, but felt a bit paranoid that he might be blindsided. The three men waited patiently as Chris revealed the final results.
"The final marshmallows go to...Tory! And....Spencer!" Chris revealed as he handed over the final two marshmallows, "Fedor, you're out."
With that announcement, Fedor just leaned forward and threw his head into his hands. He was clearly upset that he had been voted out, and he wasn't sure how he should take it. What made it worse was that aside from Spencer, no one else seemed to feel sorry for him. For the most part, they all still saw him as the loud, condescending Fedor from last season instead of the calmer, nicer Fedor from this season.
"Yeah...I expected that..." Fedor muttered, disappointed.
"Look man, no hard feelings, but someone had to go," Tory insisted.
"I just don't see what I did wrong," Fedor admitted, "And I'm sorry if I'm being arrogant or whatever, but I really don't see it."
"You didn't do anything wrong, bro," Spencer assured as he patted his brother on the back, "For once, you did good."
"Not good enough, though," Fedor replied.
"Dude, it's a 44 minute show," Chris reminded, "Off to the Jet Ski of Losers!"
--------
With the sun setting on the horizon, Fedor slowly made his way down the dock, desperately trying to figure out where he went wrong. He was voted out once for being mean, and when he tried to be nice, he was still voted out. He came back to redeem himself from being voted out second last season; being voted out second again made him feel ridiculous, as if he had just wasted several days hoping for something that was never going to happen.
"Any last words?" Chef Hatchet asked as he handcuffed Fedor to the Jet Ski of Losers.
"Just send me away," Fedor requested, not wanting to be there any longer.
Before Fedor could change his mind, Chef Hatchet happily activated the jet ski, causing it to race off into the distance while Fedor remained speechless. Fedor was too caught up in his own disappointment to say anything to his teammates; he didn't even get a chance to say goodbye to Spencer. His sadness was made clear to his teammates, which made them all wonder if they made the right call by voting him out.
"Aw man..." Spencer muttered as the realization of his twin's elimination settled into his mind.
"I'm sorry, Spencer," Annie apologized, "We just couldn't trust him."
"Yada, Yada, Yada," Chris mocked, tired of all the sulking, "Just go!"
As the remaining campers returned to their rooms for some sleep, Chris thought about how the rest of the season could play out. With how the past two campers were eliminated, he was a bit concerned that the season would turn into a sob fest. At the same time, he knew that none of the new campers had been voted out yet, making him hopeful that the newbies could put up a fight against the returning campers.
"Well, today's episode surely showed that history can repeat itself, but the future is open for the taking," Chris remarked as the main camera focused on him, "What will Spencer do without his twin by his side? Will Callie survive the night on Boney Island? And who will be voted out next? Find out next time, right here, on Total...Drama...Double Trouble!"
--------
Final Words:
"I honestly feel like I was doomed from the start. I made enemies on the first day when I didn't pick Rhythm's team to win, and I ended up joining them. I don't blame them for voting me out, but I really thought that I was a nicer guy this time around. Maybe nice guys are doomed to finish last. Or near-last, I guess. I feel really bad for Spencer though. Now he's all alone and will probably be the next one to go. I just gotta hope that he can break up the majority alliance and run the game himself. I'll be rootin' for ya', bro!"- Fedor
