"I got more popcorn!" everyone cheers out as I pass out a couple of bowls, keeping one for myself and Duncan as we sat on the blanket watching a horror movie. It was some cliche noir film filled with blood, guts and gore without the story plot.
"He's coming out of the woods with a big hacking chainsaw! So cool!" Izzy exclaims as we watch the killer go for the car.
"Stop fucking and start the car, you absolute dumbasses!" I yell out, throwing some popcorn and Duncan laughs as I grumble in annoyance.
"I'm pretty sure we would be doing the same thing, too busy fucking." Duncan whispers in my ear and I gasp in shock at the sudden lewd remark.
"Boi, I would be running for my life thanks." I turn to watch the movie, crossing my legs as Duncan brushes shapes against my hip with his thumb.
This dude is a real horndog holy shit.
The girl in the movie screams and the couple races to get the car going. "Of fucking course it won't start!" the campers either watch in horror or amazement at the blood bath that ensues and I gag, covering my eyes from the sight.
"Gross!" Duncan laughs and I peek between my fingers to watch the ending as the killer gets away.
"Am I ever glad that's over! I really hate scary movies!" DJ shudders as I continue eating my popcorn.
"Oh yeah? What scares you the most? The part where everyone meets a grisly death or the psycho killer with a hook!" Duncan brinsg out the classic hook again and DJ jumps in his seat.
"Don't scare him too much Duncan." everyone chuckles as DJ screams in fright.
"Oh come on Deej, for a slasher film it was pretty tame."
"Yeah, didn't really have a lot of jumpscares. Not that it would matter since I'm more into the story/psychological horror." I shrug.
"Horror movies with a plot line is boring unlike Bloodbath 2: Summer Camp Rein of Terror." Duncan says and Gwen immediately agrees. They both describe their favourite parts of the film, equally scaring DJ more and more.
"Awe, looks like Gwen and Duncan have more in common than bad fashion sense or with you (y/n). What do you think about that? You gonna break up with Duncan now?" Heather mocks and I raise a briw at her.
"Wy would I? People can have different interests. Doesn't make me like him even less." I finish off the popcorn and Heather rolls her eyes at me as the girls awe.
"Shes a keeper dude." Owen giggles and Duncan nods, winking at me.
"You sure are."
"Whatever, it was just filled with mindless guts and gore." Heather continues running her mouth and Gwen and Duncan immediately shuts her down with proof of DJ's psychological trauma.
"Ok just cut it out." I yawn out and Heather wonders what the next challenge would be. "True, it's been two days since the last one." I mumble out and Geoff asks where Chris is. We hear the engine of a boat running and everyone gets up to run to the docks.
"Ayo Chef! Wheres the fire?" Duncan calls out as Chef throws luggages onto the boat.
"Chef, what's going on-" I gasp as he jumps jumps off and leaves with Chris. "Something doesn't feel right." I rub my arms watching the boat disappear.
"Dude! You forgot this!" Owen calls out, picking up a back pack when a newspaper falls out. "Escaped psycho killer on the loose."
"Oh no." I mumble out, gulping as Owen reads the rest of the article.
"Oh come on! They don't expect us to fall for this! Scary movie followed by hasty exit followed by strategically lame prop." Heather doesn't believe this for one second, claiming it to be a stunt but Owen says otherwise.
"He left his hair gel behind." I mumble out and everyone looks at me with wide eyes.
"He left you behind and you're his precious niece!" DJ exclaims and I start to get worried.
"Don't worry sweetheart, I'll look after you." Duncan keeps me close to his side and I feel a tad safer.
"Ok, look. It doesn't matter if this is real or a challenge, we need a game plan."
"Agreed. Can we make sure to not do those stupid tropes in horror movies that are bound to get us killed. Please." I shake lightly and Duncan holds me.
"You little fright wigs might need a game plan but I need a facial." Heather walks off and I facepalm.
"Are you fucked in the head!? Number 1 rule in horror movies; don't go alone or split away from the group! That's how killers take us down one by one!" I exclaim and Heather just rolls her eyes, thinking we are getting punked by Chris.
Heather just leaves us and I sigh. "I say we go back to camp and talk strategy. Who's in?" I agree and so does everyone to Gwens idea.
"Chris, I swear to fucking god. If you left me for dead, I'm letting mum and dad hang you." I look around, hoping that Chris overheard me on one of his many cameras as I sit down on a stump. Gwen was numbering off the many rules and that's when I realise Owen and Izzy were missing.
"Where's Izzy and Owen?"
"Breaking rules 1 to 3." Duncan grins before leaning down towards me. "Why don't we do the same sweetheart."
"Duncan, I will throttle you by your neck. No." I cross my arms and he chuckles.
"I'm joking you know."
Oh.
"Just get some sleep ok. You look exhausted." Duncan mutters and leads my head to lean on his shoulder, slowly falling asleep.

"(y/n), wake up." I groan and open my eyes to see Gwen leaning over me with a frown.
"What? What happened?" I rub my eyes, looking around to see that it was just the two of us. "Where is everyone!?" I start to freak out and Gwen holds me by my shoulders.
"I don't know. Just stick with me ok. Don't leave my side." I quickly hold my necklace, feeling a wash of calm fall over me and I nod.
"No duh I won't. I ain't dying today." Gwen nods and we both decide to go to the main lodge to grab some food. While Gwen was making her sandwich, I brandished a large butchers knife for protection.
"Do you really need that?" Gwen asks as we sit down together, her munching on her food.
"Fluke or not, I'm protecting my life at all costs." I shrug, gripping the knife in my hand and my necklace in the other. I suddenly hear breathing behind me and I stiff up, freaking out while Gwen rambled on thinking it was some unpaid actor. I slowly turn around and I feel cold all over, my voice disappearing as my face paled. "Gwen..." I squeak out, immediately climbing across the table to put distance between me and some dude with a fucking chainsaw!
Gwen turns around and sighs. "I know actors without speaking parts don't get paid much but seriously dude, invest in a dental plan and some toothpaste."
"Are you fucking nuts Gwen! You're gonna piss it off more!" Gwen still thinks it was all a charade until the guy takes his fucking hook off to reveal no hand. "It's the actual killer you dumbass!" I shriek and I throw the knife hard at the dude, impaling his arm as he drops the chainsaw in pain.
"(y/n)!" I suddenly get pulled back and I look up to see Duncan holding me tight as the campers barge in to tell Gwen it was the real killer. She screams out and kicks the guy in the jaw multiple times until he leaves.
I start crying, absolutely terrified out of my mind from the whole ordeal and I hear Duncan and Chris apologising to me multple times. "I hate you both!" I cry out and Leshawna pulls me away while hugging me.
"It's alright honey, he won't come back."
"Fuck he won't! He's probably pissed that I threw a goddamn knife at him!" I bawl out, terrified that the killer might come back to finish me off.
"Oh I'm fucked." I hear Chris mumble out as Leshawna leads me to the campfire with the others. "Her mother is going to skin me alive..." Leshawna held me as I cried into my knees, shaking throughout the whole ceremony until DJ left. Everyone was heading to bed but there was no way I was going to get any sleep.
"(y/n), please come out of the bathroom." I stay huddled on the floor, leaning against the door despite Gwen trying to coax me out.
"Just leave her in there." Heather scoffs and I hear the others sigh out. I shiver against the tiles, lulling into an uneasy sleep.
At one point, I think I head the door open and someone picking me from the floor before placing me on a bed. I felt arms pull me to their chest and I could feel my heart start to rest easy, feeling safe in their arms. "I'm so sorry (y/n)."
