Chapter 54

Sorry for the late update, writing the end to a book is surprisingly much harder than I thought it would be...

--------------

Annabeth watched as Stella suddenly stopped mid-fire, about to blast another super-powered laser at the shield she was currently enforcing as Wanda was taking her rest. She nudged Wanda with a foot to rose her from her rest to point out the situation.

"The ship's stopped trying to attack us..." She motioned to the motionless ship and Wanda got up and looked at it cautiously. Stella was just hovering in the spot, the weapons weren't active anymore, the ship wasn't lighting up, and she didn't seem to be responding either.

"Hey Rocket! What's happened?" Annabeth yelled out to the raccoon and his voice came out tired.

"I don't know. She just stopped on her own. I did everything I could on my end but this isn't me..." The ship suddenly turned on everything: from lights to activating and deactivating its various weaponry before going silent once more.

It seems that I have been hijacked by some unknown entity for an extended period of time... Hearing Stella's voice caused everyone to finally relax. It seemed that everything was over now, but what had grabbed hold of the sentient craft to attack them? Annabeth looked behind her to where the group Percy was among to see that the person that they were trying to save was glowing with a white light. It seemed to be slowly eating away at what remained of the arms and shoulders and that moment was when they all seemed to return to themselves.

Percy stepped back and immediately looked around for Annabeth, but he didn't have to as she gathered up her last remaining energy and drove him to a ground in a hug, "I'm so glad you're okay..." And then she was asleep...the stress of having to use her powers for so long periodically having finally caught up to her.

The Warriors of Chaos blinked their eyes as they gathered themselves again; that entire experience had been extremely odd for them, but after a few moments they realized where they were and what had happened. Looking around for their Patron they found her already in an embrace with her beloved, Order. His glow now surrounding the entirety of his body and the lower half of what was his stomach no longer existed as the flakes of white energy consumed his being.

"Why, my cornerstone? Why would you open yourself to such a savage force?" She asked cupping his face gently. The white mask he'd had on was no longer there and everyone now saw how young and welcoming Order's face truly was...

"I--I just wanted to help him...he was in so much pain for all that time...I didn't...I didn't do a thing about it." He turned his head away sorrowfully, but Chaos didn't let him "I failed him...I failed to uphold our bond and..."

"You should have told me about Lost sooner my beloved. I am sure that I would've listened to you, that we could've formed a bond together together." Her tears evaporated as they fell to his chest, but neither of them cared.

"I realize that now...I was foolish--thinking I could've solved every problem myself just because I am in charge of keeping the order in this universe..." He smiled wryly at her. The light was up to his shoulders now and creeping it's way towards his neck and head. "I am sorry...I let you down too, my sweet ember. You didn't deserve this either and I'm so sorry for leaving you like this..."

"Don't you worry." Chaos smiled, "I will meet you soon. At the End of Time." She leant in and kissed the man deeply on the lips as the light consumed his neck. Pulling away she met his forehead with her own and whispered to him, "You rest now...I will be okay."

That seemed to be what Order needed to hear as he smiled in return, "I love you" were the last words everyone heard and he closed his eyes and let the Light of Eternity consume him entirely. When he was gone Chaos sat there for a moment before loosing a keening wail that shook the universe, her sadness killed countless lone stars and threatened to destroy the very Earth she sought to protect. Percy straining his limited amount of power over it, along with Gaia to keep her physical manifestation together.

The Warriors took a moment to stabilize themselves from the blast of power that decimated the area, and once they reached her side they all enveloped her into a close hug. Chaos' power stopped flooding from her that moment and she cried in their embrace. Rocket and Stella looked over them in great amounts of deep sorrow and great interest. Percy felt her pain with the blast of her aura and couldn't imagine how it would feel to lose Annabeth once again...

He realized he'd probably go insane, worse than Order had...

Percy took that moment to take Annabeth somewhere safe to let her sleep peacefully, he made a portal to the only other place he knew would likely be fine in a time like this and knocked at the entrance. Opening to reveal a familiar face with auburn hair and a relieved expression that betrayed the deep feelings of regret and guilt digging at her chest.

"Would you and the Hunt take care of mine for a little while longer...I have some things yet to deal with before we're able to enjoy our time in peace." Percy asked, Artemis nodding without hesitation and taking Annabeth in with a gentle embrace. As soon as this transpired Percy nodded his thanks to her and walked a ways from the temple. He almost never did this but when he did it wasn't without meaning.

He flashed to the throne room of Olympus: The explosion of power destroyed two locations on a level equal to different levels of an explosion; The area in front of Artemis' temple sat a crater at least twenty feet in diameter and an equal amount deep; The explosion in the throne room of Olympus was on a level higher than an atom bomb as Percy released his godly form to disintegrate everything in the area.

The sudden blast of power caught the cowering gods in the throne room by surprise: the fire of the Hearth provided no warmth and the atmosphere was so dark and gloomy for everyone that watched the invasion happen below they were left unable to defend against the blast of power that swept a good portion of the throne room bare. It consumed anything in it's path, gods and stone alike crumbled and turned to pure energy in its wake. As soon as it came, it left just as quickly, the throne room was left looking like the aftermath of a war zone: ruin and destruction anywhere someone looked.

Zeus, Hera, Ares, and Dionysus along with a few minor gods were the only ones there at the time. Demeter had gone off to "save her corn flakes"; Apollo had left the moment he was given his godhood back and hadn't been seen since; Hermes was off on the ground helping keep mortals out of danger along with a few of his messengers; Athena, unsurprisingly, was in her temple making drafts, plans, and various offers just in case Order was one to negotiate; Poseidon hadn't been to the throne room in quite some time and had been fighting against Order's forces in the seas, helping out above whenever he had a few moments rest; Aphrodite, with nowhere to go and no-one to turn to, went to Hephaestus hoping that he would give her a chance since they were still technically married, even if she'd been rather unfaithful and stubborn towards sharing space with him. He was in his forge drawing up schematics for a giant suit of armor that he'd hoped would give him an edge over Order just in-case all was lost...

They were blasted from their thrones, crumbling under them as the blast of Percy's raw power ran rampant, the few minor gods that were closest didn't even have a chance to scream before being turned into energy. And as the gods were recovering the Fates appeared before Percy to try and convince him not to kill them. Percy didn't even halt his advance in their presence, but his frown did deepen slightly as a chain turned the three to dust; not dead but also out of his way for a good while.

He made his way over to the one he had the most hatred against in that moment and pressed a foot on the God of Lightning's chest. "Zeus. You've scorned me, falsely accused me of treason, and threatened to kill me more than a few times. Now I'm going to send you to the same place I'd been trapped there for three hundred years, but you aren't going to be getting out anytime soon..."

"You're a monster..." Zeus said and Percy drove Death through his chest. He watched as the god screamed in pain and disintegrated into red flakes of dust before those too crumbled in the stray wind.

"Maybe I am," Percy said walking over to Hera, "still doesn't mean you aren't going to get what you deserve." She clearly had realized what Percy had just done as she screamed obscenities at him all the way till he got to her side.

"You killed him...you killed my husband!" She screamed and Percy just looked at her with a glare.

"And you toyed with my life. Deciding to follow in his steps and watch me be cursed and damned to a place not even you dare get near..." Percy growled, "You're worse than him in my opinion. Toying with lives as if they're nothing, ruining them because you're bored of sitting on your throne all the time..."

"You..." Percy didn't let her finish before swiping Destruction through her neck and severing her head. She too crumbled to red ash before him and he went over to Ares.

"You're a pathetic god of war. You revel in this kind of destruction and yet you aren't there among those that were fighting for a planet not of their own..."

"You're wrong. The first moment those creatures appeared I went down and began slaughtering them by the thousands! The mindless creatures fell to my blade with ease!" Ares spat and Percy hummed in thought. It was likely true, but he hadn't stayed in the fight, deciding to return here and cower as Order's creatures almost took the Earth.

"Then why didn't you stay in the fight? If they were so easy to deal with it should've been nothing but fun for you to slaughter countless mindless beings with ease..." Percy noticed the god shudder at a memory under his gaze.

"That man...his presence was overwhelming. I couldn't stay. I couldn't fight him..." Ares seemed to have a mental break-down under Percy, who just watched slightly amused, slightly pitying the god as it got to the point where he was screaming

"The man! He's seen me...His Presence. I can't let him get me...I can't--" Another swipe of Destruction ended that there and then, the same red dust filling the space Ares had been. Percy walked over to Dionysus and looked at him incredulously.

The man was drunk, "If it wasn't Perry Johnson! The Fear of Olympus back again! Hey, you wanna join me for a drink to the End of the World?" He raised a sole goblet of a dark-colored red whine and Percy looked at it, then him, and huffed. He was still the same as he'd been, maybe worse now that he could actually drink: lazy and annoying but not really someone that needed the be killed that moment." Walking away the god drank from the goblet and tried getting him to come back.

"Paaarrry you sure you don't want some! Come back!" And after seeing that Percy wasn't coming back he just shrugged and leant back against the rubble that used to be his throne, "Ah, whatever. More wine for me..." Percy opened another Portal and stepped through it to his final destination.

With this story coming to a close I've been rethinking about it's rating...at first I didn't want to change it to a Mature rated story because I wasn't sure whether I was on the line of the site guidelines or not, and mainly because I didn't know how it would effect the votes and ranking of my story, but seeing now I am going to be.

I've kinda stopped caring about the Rankings my story's gotten so if they suddenly disappear just because I mark my story mature then that's what happens...it shouldn't really effect my reader base that much, and if it does...the story will probably be finished and onto the editing stage at that point so it won't really matter.

Anyways I hope you enjoyed this chapter and I am warning that the next will more than likely be the last or second to last depending in whether I want to include an Epilogue or not...
