Chapter 52
Still trying to find a balance in things I like doing: reading, watching videos, etc. and writing.
Enjoy.
At first Percy didn't understand what was happening. He was sure that he had helped in clearing whatever curse this 'Lost' character was from Order, but it seemed that Chaos wasn't powerful enough to influence the two to completely separate, so here he was, stuck in darkness. A void.
Nothingness
It took him a second to regain his bearings and figure out the he was there, and not. And so was everyone else: He could feel the others all around him, but he just couldn't see them in any sense. And yet it felt like he had a connection to this mysterious sense...realm? Whichever it was he could feel that there was a path towards wherever he wanted to go, but he just couldn't tell how long it would take to get there or who it was he'd find.
The first person that Percy tried to focus on was Chaos since she would most likely have the most experience in this kind of thing and thus she would hopefully be able to help find the others and figure out a way to get out. It might've been mere moments, moments that felt like millennia in his mind, before he finally saw the figure of something floating around in the distant nothingness.
Percy opened his mouth to try and call out to them but it seemed that he didn't have one to make sound with...actually he didn't have a body here at all...
How was that possible?
Percy could feel that his powers were all still there and intact, but they felt cut off from him in some way and even trying to open a portal was a task that he would never have been able to even attempt to do here. However, in his thoughts he didn't notice that he'd arrived beside the figure and it took him a moment to actually realize that this floating gaseous energy was actually a person.
It didn't feel like the person that he was searching for, but there was a connection there that he was attached to. Looked like trying to find Chaos was going to be a bit harder than he thought it was going to be...
Wait, weren't they trying to do something earlier? What was it again?
Percy's attention turned back to the floating cloud of energy, maybe he should bring them along in his journey somehow? He needed to find the others...what others though? Percy felt like something was there, but not, and it was effecting him in some way but when he tried going back to think about what he was supposed to be doing it eluded his thoughts and they always returned to the cloud before him.
He decided to just touch it. Surely that would help...
Percy floated closer to the cloud and as soon as he touched it it's form changed to a humanoid figure, a figure that he recognized but couldn't recall. The girl --as she appeared-- was wearing a black cloak with silver lining and she had a silver knife in one hand and the other was connected to Percy's own.
Wait, when didn't he have hands? Percy was sure that he had hands before...
"Where are we?" A feminine voice snapped him out of his thoughts again and Percy's attention was brought to the girl in the cloak again.
"I don't know." Percy's voice came out in a sort of whisper, but it held power that seemed to startle the one that he was holding. She tried to break his grip and shy out of range, but that didn't work, so instead she lashed out with this knife in her hand. That didn't work either however, as a chain of dark red energy came from around Percy's wrist and brought the weapon to a halt.
"I don't understand," her voice also carried a whisper of power but Percy could feel that it was far inferior to his own. "Why does it feel like I know you?"
"I don't know" Percy gasped, "It feels like I know you too, but I don't understand how. All I know is that I need to find someone, someone named Chaos..."
"I know that name!" Her voice seemed much clearer, stronger now. Her form also seemed to gain a sort of silver shine that started beating away at the nothingness around them both. Percy didn't understand but he waited for whatever was happening to be resolved so he could continue.
"I know that name." She confirmed, "I know my name too. My name, Silver, I think my name is Silver..."
"Nice to meet you Silver." Percy whispered, "I'm Percy."
Like a tidal wave a rush of red mixed with the silver energy coming off of the girl and it exploded from him. Disintegrating the nothingness around the two and creating a sort of zone of red-silver energy that kept the area free and clear of anything influencing the mind. Percy suddenly realized what he was there for and immediately latched onto the nearest source from Chaos that he could find.
"Alright. What in the world just happened?"
"I don't know." Percy shrugged and Silver glared at him.
"You don't know?"
"Yeah. Is saying it once not enough? Alright I'll say it again, slower." Percy looked at her, "I. Don't. Know." Silver just growled at him in return and that caused him to growl back at her, louder.
"Ok. Let's calm down a moment. I know my name, Silver, but I also know that that isn't my name either and I have no idea why I know that."
"Agreed"
"Where are we?"
"Don't know"
"Why are we here?"
"No idea"
"What's wrong with you?"
"Everything?"
Her bewildered expression caused Percy to howl out in laughter and he grinned at her, "So...do you know what were supposed to be doing here?" Her face went through a multitude of expressions: Confusion, anger, fear, frustration, and back to confusion.
"I feel like I should, but it's not coming to me for some reason..." She whispered and Percy nodded.
"I think that whatever it was we were stuck in for a while there screwed with all of us somehow." His attention was caught by another presence near, there and yet not. "Hopefully this next person can help us with that."
"Next person?" Silver's attention was stolen from Percy as a flash of yellow penetrated through Percy's aura and a male figure materialized next to the pair. Silver's expression went from being confused to and unfocused revelation, and then she streaked forwards and started to shake the new character awake.
"Sundrop? Hey Sundrop, wake up!" She continued to shake the person awake whilst yelling their name until they too exploded with a yellowish-green aura and the person's eyes came to focus.
"Who are you? Wait, Silver is that you? What's happening?" He looked around for a moment, Silver backed away to give him space and his eyes soon found Percy's gaze. "Who are..."
"Percy." Just that single word was enough to cause some sort of chain reaction as his eyes went unfocused again and then came back and he turned to Silver confused.
"Alright what's happening and where are the others?"
"I'm just as lost as you are..."
"And you're speaking normally too?"
"Hush. Let me speak." Silver flicked his forehead and Percy suppressed a snicker. "Again, I don't know what's happening, but all I know is that something screwed with our heads and if it wasn't for Percy we likely would've been like that forever...What do you remember?"
"I don't know. I was fighting something. Then I was helping someone, no multiple people...against something?" Sundrop looked at the ground confused. Percy nodded his head.
"Yeah it was pretty much the same way for me, but all I knew was my name, someone named Order, a curse, something being Lost, and a woman named Chaos, whom you all seem connected to somehow." He recalled and the two looked at him unsure of how to process that.
"You remember so much more than us." Silver replied, "I'm only able to connect a fight and Lady Chaos' name. As well as my own."
"Yeah"
"I guess we'll just have to continue on and find this Chaos lady you both seem to be so connected to then why don't we?" Percy hummed and moved towards the next source of energy he could feel.
After an undetermined amount of time they were able to find all six of those that had connections to this Lady Chaos, as they called her, and there were no more leads. Percy had asked them how they were sure that there were only Six of them in the group and the leader, Alpha stepped forwards saying that their group's name was Warriors of the Galaxies and the order of Chaos. Otherwise known as 'The Galaxy Warriors.'
"Alright. So what do we do next then?" Percy asked them and they all seemed to have some sort of internal mental conversation --based on the changing expressions Percy saw between them at times -- and they seemed to come to a conclusion.
"We don't know." Alpha revealed and Percy looked at them in shock.
"Oookaaay. How about we try to find this Chaos Lady--"
""""""Lady Chaos""""""
"This Lady Chaos." Percy scowled, thinking for a moment, "I can't seem to find her myself...I could only find you three when trying but maybe if you six came together you might be able find her? You all have a stronger connection to her than I do after all..."
"That's brilliant!" Forge exclaimed. He had a sort of fiery-red aura and a giant hammer on his back that made Percy think of a certain brain-addled god of fighting...
"Ugh. Why didn't I think of that?" Shadow, the third girl of the group --second found-- huffed. She had a sort of shadowy aura that covered her form in shadows, not nothingness unlike what surrounded them.
"Same." Alpha groaned. "I'm supposed to be the leader of this group..."
"Being the leader of a group doesn't mean you are the brains of it Alpha. We all know Silver's the actual brains of the group." Glamour poked. Her aura was strange...it changed constantly between rainbows, fireworks, ghostly figures and mirages of things that weren't there. Percy wasn't really able to discern what her power was but it seemed to have something to do with light...maybe?
"How about you actually try something instead of floating around running your mouths?" Percy got a few glares, and a scoff but it got them back on track so he didn't care.
"Does anyone know how we should go about this?" Alpha asked and Silver floated over to him and held out her hands, one towards him and the other towards the one closest to her, Shadow.
"I think we all need to join hands and focus our thoughts on a single thing." She said and once everyone was holding hands, in the rough form of a circle, she continued, "Lets think about finding our patron, Lady Chaos and focus all of our power on that."
"How will we know whether it works?" Sundrop asked and Silver shrugged.
"I think we'll just know..."
"Helpful" Forge grumbled and Silver gave him a sly smirk.
"Why thank you." Her smirk then directed itself towards Alpha, who grumbled something about women and foxes under his breath.
The next few moments were filled with silence. Percy could tell that they were moving again, but he wasn't sure where or how long they needed to get to where it was they were going. He'd had to take over guarding them from the nothingness around them as everyone's aura went to the center of their circle. Shifting and moving in a mesmerizing ball of energy, with different colored streams trailing towards a specific person attuned to that color.
After a while a strong presence invaded their peace. It didn't feel like just one though, but three. Two of them felt familiar to Percy, but the third seemed weak, almost insignificant compared to the others. And yet it also felt like it just wasn't there...like it was bleeding into the nothingness around them, maybe even a part of it?
Percy let the group of six navigate their way through the two main clashing forces, one a giant ball of brilliant white energy, and the other an equally as large purple mass of confusing equilibrium. Both seemed to represent two separate things, but they were both formed around the center mass bleeding into the nothingness around.
Fighting over it.
The group lead him into the giant purple mass and at it's center they found a strikingly beautiful lady dressed in a black dress with purple embroidering near the bottom and along the back of the dress dressing the laces covering her bare back in a mix of royal purple and midnight black. Her hair was as dark as the black part of her dress and flowed past her waist to the top of her ankles and contrasting her pale skin it made her look stunning.
Not that Percy cared...why'd he think that?
Her eyes remained closed until one of the warriors, Glamour, went over and poked her forehead. The miniature galaxies hidden within were equally unrivaled in nature and she looked around at the seven before her confused for a moment.
"My lady we have finally found you" Glamour said, bowing before her. The two other women following suit while the men somehow knelt whilst floating. "We've been looking for a long time."
So I'm back!
It took a while for me to get into the mood to write again but I eventually got there...
My mom is doing better and is able to do most stuff herself now, having two major surgeries within three months of the other kinda screws up everyone involved's schedules so I was unable to write, and am still struggling with making time to do so with an anxious, antsy, over-exertive mind and imagination of everything wrong that could go on during recovery...
ANYWAYS...I hope that you enjoyed this chapter! This was something that I struggled trying to write for a while but I hope that I did a decent job in projecting Void. As well as explaining what's happening with Order, Lost, and Chaos.
P.S. No I did not make a mistake in saying 'void' there...just a little note to think about.
