Chapter 46

Natasha expected to feel pain when Percy's powers engulfed her form but instead her entire body felt tingly and strange. The pain in her chest slowly went away and that was when she realized that Percy was healing her. Instead of taking the chance and getting her out of the picture then and there so that he could deal with the rest of the team easier he instead healed her to the point of only having sore muscles.

She looked at him in surprise and confusion, not knowing what to feel as he walked off and stood before Tony, who was laying on the ground unresponsive, but she knew that he was likely still awake and trying to get his suit working again. Percy just reached down and tore off his arm. The metal armor surrounding it made several grinding and screeching sounds as it was forcibly disconnected from the rest of the suit and tossed off to the side. He then did the same to the other arm and then ripped off the chest and back panels before lazily tossing a ball of light red fire on Tony and walking away. Natasha stood up and walked over to help him stand and remove the rest of his armor but Tony held out an arm to stop her.

"As uncomfortable as I am right now I can take off my own mess Nat." His voice was strained and even though he looked fine now it seemed that the fireball Percy threw at him only healed him enough to stand.

"Hey," Natasha yelled over at Percy, "Aren't you going to heal him fully." The growl that reached her ears made her body instinctively freeze in fear and her mind was trying to process whether it was worth it or not to run away while she still had a chance, but seeing that the area was swarming with unknown monsters still she doubted she'd get very far without any weapons.

"If he wants to be healed any more I'd have to rip that reactor out of his chest or modify it to accommodate the power that I would have to pour into his body." Percy growled walking back towards Natasha with literal fire in his eyes, "And doing that would be extremely painful for a mortal so I suggest you figure out another way to help him because that's all I can do for him."

"You have so much power, and you made healing my injuries and Banner's seem like such an easy task but you can't heal a single mortal because he has a little technology in his body?" Natasha challenged and Percy's claws extended slightly and he growled louder.

"Despite what you think of me I am not going to hurt someone for now reason, and what I would have to do to him just to heal him fully would cause him a lot of pain, maybe more than his mind could take at the moment and I would be giving him more power than he currently has indefinitely." Percy stepped closer and pointed towards Banner. "Besides, him having a mutation that causes his cells to turn him into an entirely separate entity helped him heal fully. The one behind you has a literal bomb in his chest, and if overloaded it would kill everything within at least four blocks of here."

"Five" Tony muttered and Percy's glare only hardened, noticing that Natasha hear it too.

"Why should I give the person that interrupted me and my mate's time together around the world, one that later turned into one of the worst days in both of our lives, more power?" Percy crossed his arms scowling.

Natasha looked at Tony and asked, "What happened?"

"FRIDAY notified me of him and the person he was with when they got to Avenger's tower, I confronted him in the training room and tried to keep them from leaving." He said still looking shaken up from when Percy threatened him.

"And if you do that again I will tear you apart limb from limb" Percy growled letting a hint of blood-lust escape to prove he wasn't joking. Making both Natasha and Tony freeze again in subconscious fear. "You don't deserve to be given a gift, but I also need you in this fight so unless you have a way to get armor to you without me dropping my shield I'll have to do something to help."

Annabeth came over hearing the commotion and put a hand on Percy's shoulder, "I know that you really don't like Tony Stark at the moment but he's one of the smartest people here, if me and him can work together you don't have to worry about the small battles around us and you can go and deal with the cause itself." She hugged him from behind and whispered, "I can't believe I'm saying this but even though he threatened us he isn't that bad of a person, and if he ends up abusing his power you can just take it back."

"Or kill him" Percy didn't both whispering as he wanted to hear how much Tony owed Annabeth for this, and she sighed looking at him wryly.

"I'd like it if you didn't do that. I'm sure that they'll have enough problems to deal with in the future." She said and Percy sighed resigning.

"You better thank my mate for this after all of this is over as the best I would've done for you is jut creating another suit of metal and making you get used to fighting in it." Annabeth stepped back and Percy pushed Natasha aside when she tried to stop his advance. Then he touched Tony's chest with a claw and Tony's mind was immediately flooded with a pain he'd only experienced once before: the blast that caused him to make the reactor in his chest.

He fell to the ground in spasms and there was a sharp pain in his head just before everything went dark again. Natasha watched as Percy kicked Tony's head and leapt at him with fury driven strikes.

"You killed--" She was tackled by someone else and sent to the ground, the person siting on their hands and back after a short scuffle on the ground.

"If you would look instead of jumping to conclusions about everything recently you'd see that he's still breathing, just unconscious." Annabeth said atop her. "Though he didn't need to be so ruthless about it." Her glare caused Percy to turn away shrugging.

"If he wasn't such an asshole I would've been nicer to the guy, but he endangered you once and got in my way more than twice so I wanted to hit the guy a little more." Annabeth sighed but left Percy alone as he walked off towards the others to torch them too. She decided not to comment but she saw the glance of shame he'd shown towards Tony's unconscious, bruised face.

----------------------------------

After everyone was healed and brought to the center of the force-field Percy had up to keep the abominations from getting to them for the last half hour the planning for what to do next started. The Avengers and co stood on one side of the earthen table Percy made while Annabeth and him were on the other. Small figures of Quill and Rocket's ships moved to and fro in real time through the mini-map of the city Percy had made. Buildings fell in real time and the black flood that was spreading through the city was captured in its entirety.

"So I'm guessing that Order has some sort of portal to let these monsters through, or maybe he his the portal and they're just spawning from his radius of power." Percy pointed to the center. "From what I can feel someone else, likely a few of the Galaxy Warriors have joined the fighting and engaged him in the center of this mess, and there's a small group of them over here as well likely trying to make their way over here."

"How are you doing all of this?" Steve asked as the others looked at the map in amazement. While rather simple it was incredibly accurate and the real time actions of the battle surrounding them looked like what they might see of a surveillance drone of satellite.

"One of my domains is the Earth and the other is energy, so I'm just using those two to make a map of the area affected and letting it flow through this map as an example. I can track movement on the ground using earth and any ships or areas of fighting using energy and earth depending on what's happening in this area." Percy grimaced, "I'm still not used to all this info so limiting what I can feel from around the world and only focusing on a small area at a time helps filter out a lot of information."

Everyone, even Annabeth looked at Percy in shock.

"Where's Percy and what have you done to him?" She asked playfully pointing a dagger of fire at his chest. Percy just flicked it away with a claw and grinned at her playfully.

"I can plan things too you know. This isn't the first time and I'm doubting it'll be the last I'm ever involved in a large scale war like this now that I'm immortal." His expression changed into a playful tease, "After this is over I can show you how I've planned for our night's alone to go with this too." Annabeth's eyes widened and she blushed turning her back towards him and the others.

"Please keep that kind of thing to yourself. We don't need to hear about what you want to do alone together." Steve said looking at the two seriously and then he returned to the problem at hand. "So first things first. How are we going to get out of this and where are we going first?" Everyone looked at Percy and he shrugged.

He waved a claw over at Annabeth, "I only did this to help my mate with planning, and maybe Metal man since he seems capable enough in her eyes. As for getting out I'll just incinerate everything around us for a quarter mile and we can go from there." Annabeth rubbed a hand down her face and groaned.

"Percy's going to be going straight to fight Order regardless of what I tell him to do, and since he's more than likely not going to want me to come along because "I'll be in danger" I'm going to separate the rest of us in a squad of sorts. The men, besides Banner since he's not in fighting condition, will be going to help clear as much of the creatures invading the city as they can. I don't think you'll need to worry about mortals but keep a look-out for anyone moving or alive since they'll more than likely be clear-sighted mortals that don't know it themselves."

"The second group: me, Natasha, and Banner will go and see if the group fighting their way here are friendly or not and if they are, depending on what they're doing or supposed to do we'll be figuring out if we can disable any portals that are spawning these creatures...if there are any." Annabeth looked around for a moment to see if anyone had any questions and seeing no objections she turned to Percy, "Do you think you can get the ships over here with some kind of signal they'd be able to understand?"

"How about an explosion?" Percy grinned, "Everyone likes seeing a good explosion right?"

Just as Annabeth was about to retort the area around them became a roaring inferno that blasted outwards from the edges of the force-field Percy had put over everyone. The inferno vaporized everything in its path and super-heated the very air in its wake as it continued around and through some damaged buildings to incinerate everything around the group. Percy grinned madly as everyone looked at him with a mixture of fear and awe, but Annabeth just smacked her forehead and groaned.

"You said it was only going to be a quarter mile," She growled and Percy growled back playfully.

"I was feeling like letting loose a little," he motioned to the ships coming towards them at a fast pace, "And I got their attention so it's a win-win in my eyes."

"You giant fluff faced, big eared idiot." Annabeth paused her head and looked at his head for a moment, and then slightly behind him. "Is it me or did something just change?" One of Percy's ears folded back and he tilted his head mockingly.

"I haven't the slightest clue." He mused and Annabeth just glared at him in annoyance.

"Is it temporary or on purpose?" She really wanted to touch his ears now, and his tail had gained a streak of red on either side parallel to each other.

"I don't know why, but it happens when I use my powers for an expended period of time." He grinned, "I guess I just wolf out a little bit."

"Stop that."

"You know you like it" Percy's grin widened, "You want to touch them don't you?" He teased and bowed his had down a little and Annabeth's eyes widened. Her arm twitched forwards but she stopped herself and growled fiercely instead, turning on the spot and marching off towards where Stella was landing.

"So what if I do..." Her whisper was only audible to Percy's now enhanced hearing and he bit back his laugh. I'll have to do this again before she turns he thought watching as she stormed up the ramp. He stood straight up again, looking at his tail afterwards. It really helped with balance in both this and his wolf form so what could it help with when fighting...

Percy turned to the others and grinned, "You better listen to my mate. You better protect her too, or I'll--"

"Rip us to pieces slowly, one by one" Tony waved his hand, "Yeah we get it." Percy growled warningly at his attitude and the next second he was gone. His after-image's gaze burning a hole through Tony's soul, and even after it faded Tony couldn't shake the fear from his system. Someone touching his shoulder shook him out of it and he looked to see Steve standing by him looking concerned.

"You've already made some pretty bad choices concerning Percy," he took his hand off and grabbed his shield from where it lay against the earthen table and walked off to the ship Clint was already boarding. "Stop making enemies and start turning them into allies Tony," he finished without looking back and walked onto the ship to join the others.

Tony looked down at the pulsing reactor on his chest for a moment. Something in it had changed slightly, and now with every pulse he could see a slight red every so often, turning certain areas purple at times. Then he clenched and un-clenched his fists and looked back towards the crater that Percy's feet had made and then the direction he'd probably disappeared towards and sighed.

"I'll try" he mumbled and walked towards where the others were. "After this is over I'll make it right."

In Annabeth's ship the other were standing at her side looking at the acting pilot of the ship. "So we have to trust this rodent to get us to where we need to go?" Wanda said, louder than intended.

It wouldn't have mattered how quiet it had been as Rocket would've heard her anyways in the small confines of this vessel. He jumped out of his seat and growled at Wanda with his paws itching to blast her with his rifle.

"I'll show you what this rodent can do you--"

Please refrain from fighting within my vessel A voice sounded throughout the ship and the two women that hadn't heard her before looked around in confusion, on edge with weapons ready. Annabeth stepped forwards and smiled shyly.

"Stella would you please stop scaring every new person that comes in here?"

It's not my fault they're all so interesting to observe when faced with a confusing situation Stella said once again and her avatar appeared before everyone, full sized and dressed in an unknown uniform. Please forgive my actions, I am the Artificial Intelligence currently bound to this vessel, appropriately named after me as it's my first. Annabeth swore she saw a smirk and glance at her before the avatar disappeared again.

'Was Stella already learning sarcasm so quickly?'
'Was she just teased by such a being just now?'

"Alright, It's nor my first time meeting an AI but this one seems...different" Natasha said looking at the smaller version of said avatar looking at the different screens while the ship traveled smoothly through the city.

"She's learning complex emotions and body language much quicker than I thought she would" Annabeth agreed but went over to seat in her usual seat in the co-pilot's position. Groot had to get up and move out of the way as she did so, but it was without complaints and instead the sentient plant looked at the two new-comers with a curiosity that unnerved them.

"I am Groot." He said and the two looked at him even more confused.

"That was him saying 'hello' by the way" Rocket called out, hidden behind his seat and Wanda was the first to nod back and say hello.

"Hello, I'm Wanda."

"And I'm Natasha"

"I am Groot." Groot nodded and turned back to look out the ship as it traveled.  The two women looked at each other for a moment and then at where Rocket was, but seeing that he wasn't answering her they looked at Annabeth and she shrugged.

"Don't look at me. I can barely understand him half of the time, but I think he said 'it is nice to meet you' in his way." She didn't even look at the two newcomers and continued to do her own checks of the ship.

You realize that I am the ship and checking the systems is pointless correct? The avatar looked at Annabeth blankly and she stopped and sat back in her seat smiling sheepishly.

"Sorry I think it's turned into a habit for me now."

----------------------------------

Percy ran through the streets on his way towards the being he felt at the center of this, and the other his target was fighting, most likely one of the Galaxy Warriors. He tore his way through monsters and buildings alike, nothing stood in his way as he made a straight path of destruction towards the signatures of power he felt clashing in the center of all of this. He stopped sharply as the signature changed direction and went another at a rapid pace, the other was staying where they were for a moment but Percy didn't care about whether they were going to join him or not.

This is futile Warrior you will not win against me for I am --- The figure stopped talking when Percy's figure came rushing towards them, fear evident in the eyes of the man in white. No. You. There was a plan for you! Why are you here?! You shouldn't be here!!

He didn't get the chance to say anything else as Percy just grabbed his neck and smiled.

"I'm going to tear your black heart out and crush it against your stupid, perfect face." He growled and threw Order. The sonic wave left in his wake destroyed everything around them and Percy reached Order again as his back just barely touched the wall of the second building. "I'm a tortured warrior and you're the unlucky one that gets to face my wrath."

Thanks for reading. I hope that you enjoyed this longer chapter as I wanted to make one longer -- to hopefully bring the story to an end at 50 and no later -- for you all to enjoy since I'm so close to ending the end of it and I want it finished so I can start murdering the living fudge out of it to purge it's horrible plot holes and other mistakes...

...Like forgetting that Percy shattered Cap's shield in Chapter 41 and then somehow picked it back up again a few damn paragraphs later. Even using it against Annabeth in Chapter 45...

I'm sitting here growling and gritting my teeth at stupid mistakes like this. Ones that could've been caught by me and fixed early, but alas I am not perfect so I'll have to make do with what I have and tweak things a bit for the rest of this, so it'll fit after editing.

Anyways before this the chapter stands at 3.2K words...I was hoping to make it to 4K but I want to save the last of the fighting for the nect few chapters. I'm totally using '...' wrong too XD
