Chapter 39

Finally at chapter 40! I know that this is technically Chapter 39, chapter 40 will be the next one, well I don't care. This is Part 40 so I am saying it's chapter 40 fight me.

Anyways I'll probably only be able to kick out another five or six chapters after this as things come to a close...other than that I hope you enjoy:

------------------------------

The Milano and Stella arrived in orbit around Earth just at the beginning of the battle with Order and the planet. Annabeth and Rocket looked on at the warring planet with wide, shocked eyes and Annabeth felt lost.

"How am I going to find Percy in all of this?" She whispered and though Rocket heard her he didn't reply. Groot grew one of his arms to hold her hand in an attempt at comforting her, and she snapped out of her melancholic mood and pointed, "That's New York, if he's anywhere it would probably be right in the middle of most of the fighting."

"Are you sure?" Rocket asked, warily looking at that warzone with beams of light going off everywhere along its surface and sky.

"Yeah. That's where parent pantheon of gods and goddesses are and that's probably where both the Avengers and Percy are...hopefully they aren't fighting like the last time we last interacted with a member of theirs."

"Are they a threat to this planet or something?" Rockets asked and Annabeth scoffed shaking her head.

"What? No they're kinda like you guys actually, except they don't really leave the planet and instead fight the denizens of it's surface." She tilted her head side to side in thought, "They're kind of like our planet's immune system in a way, just there's only a handful of them against numerous constant threats."

"And is this Percy in some kind of danger of something fighting them?" Rocket asked and that got Annabeth to howl aloud in laughter.

"Ha! No. No, they stand no chance what-so-ever of injuring Percy in the slightest." Annabeth scoffed at the thought, "I'm more worried that he won't hold back in killing them." Rocket stayed silent and was about to start his descent towards the area that Annabeth had pointed to when Quill's voice came over comm's.

"You aren't actually thinking of going in that mess are you Rocket?" He exclaimed and Rocket huffed and answered.

"Yeah," He said, "How else are we supposed to help save the world?" Rocket asked and there was silence over the radio for a moment. Probably from Gamora arguing with Peter over the stupidity of this and then over what they were going to do.

"Alright. Where are we going then?" Peter asked dejectedly and Rocket just grinned.

"Towards the worst of it of course." Rocket said and punched the controls into acceleration, "Just follow my lead Quill!" He could practically hear Peter's frustration after doing this. "Annabeth take over the guns and shoot anything you see. Don't worry about actually hitting it just start shooting! Groot you stay there for now!" Rocket had to yell as the surroundings turned to chaos and Annabeth did as instructed.

They all started shooting anything that came their way, whether it was ships or jets and Annabeth winced when she caught sight of one of her shots turning a passing fighter into a massive fireball. She could tell that she wasn't doing all of the work as it seems the guns auto-locked on to some targets and many other started firing on their own so she knew that Stella was taking part in all of this along with them.

"So where are we going to exactly!?" Rocket asked and Annabeth pointed towards the gigantic white portal in the center of all the chaos spewing out what looked like monsters, aliens, and amalgamations of horror. "Of course" Rocket scoffed and turned the ship that direction. They got within a mile of the army when the ship suddenly came to a dead stop as Stella took over all the systems.

"What the hell Stella?!" Rocket and Annabeth roared, frustrated and startled at the sudden change in momentum.

I apologize for the suddenness of my actions, but any further and I risk my very being being taken over by whatever it is leading such a massive force Stella said and everyone looked around trying to see what she could be talking about and surprisingly Groot was the first to point it out.

"I am Groot." He yelled pointing a few branches in a direction out the blast shield and the other two occupants strained themselves for a moment trying to see before the screen came to life and did so for them. Showing a man in a white suit looking at them with what seemed like a frown underneath the strange half mask they wore.

"Who is that?" Rocket asked and both he and Groot looked towards Annabeth for answers.

This being is not in any known database across the universe Stella interjected and Rocket just brushed the remark aside.

"I know that already. You would've said that right when they came up on screen otherwise." He continued to stare at Annabeth and a moment later it must've clicked for her.

"Oh, that must be him." She said in awe, "I didn't think that he would be a bad guy though, that should've been Nyx and maybe Tartarus, or Gaea but Order? This makes no sense." Her hands covered her face as she thought.

High probability of incoming attack. In-acting evasive maneuvers. Stella's voice cut into everyone's thoughts and they barely had time to brace themselves before the ship suddenly lurched to the side and a giant beam of white energy passed by the space they'd been. White lightning bolts crackled and streamed along it's length and as soon as it came it passed. The ship lurched again, this time downwards and to the right. A few more movements happened in the span of ten seconds before Stella managed to fire the thrusters to full power and escape out of the danger-zone. She only stopped moving the ship erratically when the army was at least five miles away and they were hidden behind many buildings.

"Alright are you able to scan the area for certain targets?" Annabeth asked and got confirmation.

I am able to scan the entire planet to locate any individual within my database and pinpoint them to an area...yes Annabeth smiled and continued.

"Alright would you locate any member of the avengers team that is within this city currently please?" She said and Rocket looked at her quizzically.

"Why not just ask her to locate your boyfriend and we go from there?" He asked and Annabeth just shook her head.

"Because even Stella wouldn't be able to find him. She can go ahead and try though out of curiosity if she wants." Annabeth said and a moment later she got confirmation of this as fact.

I scanned the area of New York for specified targets with mixed results, She said, I could not find the individual known as Percy after several attempts and many inquiries of the local systems; however, I was able to locate several individuals of the team known by 'The Avengers' to a location within this city.

"See," Annabeth grinned at the shocked raccoon. "Alright could you take us to them please."

"What?!" Rocket exclaimed

Affirmative. We will be within range of their location in a few moments. Stella took the controls from Rocket, though he didn't notice as he was too busy trying several things on his own with Stella's systems.

"How is that possible? This is the most advanced technological being I have ever seen and they can't find a single person withing a few hundred miles?!" He mumbled to himself as he worked, "It just doesn't make sense." Annabeth nodded and rubbed the raccoon's head in his distraction.

"Well you'd better get used to it because when you see my mate actually fighting I think your tail will fall off from shock." She grinned and looked at the screen as Stella brought them through the city. Using buildings as cover and managing to avoid touching a single one in every sharp turn and pass the ship had to use to remain undetected in the air.

-----------------------------------------------

Alpha was relieved. Chaos was back, and she was relatively unharmed as well. He didn't realize it until she'd left without word but he had grown attached to her far more than he thought he had. She was like the mother he'd never had and he was very grateful for all she did for him since his death and rebirth as Alpha, The leader of the Galactic Warriors.

"It's alright Luke. I'm back. I'm safe" Chaos whispered in his head as he hugged her. The others of his team just waited awkwardly since their arrival for the two to finish. Each of them felt relief for a few different reasons: the first was that Lady Chaos was back and that she was safe, the second was that Luke now had no reason to be stressed and push them so hard now that everything turned out okay, and the third was that they finally could stop worrying about his mental state and hoped that, with time, he would go back to his usual self after a while.

"So what happened while I was gone." Chaos asked looking around and Sundrop was the first to come forwards, going onto one knee despite the deadly glare he was getting in return for the action.

"Things have been fine here--" He began but Silver stepped forwards and pushed him to the side.

"Things have not been fine you idiot! Alpha crying like a lost child in Chaos' arms is evidence enough of that." She took a breath to calm her leaking aura, "Luke lost his mind when you left without saying something. He wouldn't sleep, wouldn't let us sleep either, and the only thing he thought about was giving us hell in training or pushing his body to the limits to 'get stronger'.

"He was reckless and not at all like the leader I stepped down for, but now that you're back he should be fine...or at least getting back to normal soon." She paused and looked at Alpha to see that he must've passed out in Chaos' arms a few moments ago and a light smile crossed her features before disappearing. "You can't do that to us either. He had it the worst but we were all worried about what had happened to you! Especially since there were signs of a fight in your office just before your disappearance, covered up as they might've been there were still papers everywhere and a corner of the desk was missing."

Chaos winced as she thought back to that incident with Percy a while back and nodded, apologizing to everyone. "Again I am so terribly sorry for not leaving something to show that I was fine, or what I was doing. I...I was actually in a situation not dissimilar to this one actually." At this the entire team recoiled and Glamour stepped forwards worried.

"What does that mean?" She asked and Chaos sighed.

"Percy spent the day with me as a sort of show of peace between primordials and when I thought he'd left to see his mate, Annabeth, it seems that Nyx took her from his domain and used her to lure Percy in. Resulting in her death and Percy redirecting his anger towards me thinking that our evening together was a distraction to separate them again." Chaos took Luke over to one of the chairs in her office and sat him in it gently.

"He's really had a hard time huh?" She said and the team nodded.

"Yeah he'll be out for the rest of the day more than likely." Sundrop remarked, "And just as Order started his invasion of Earth too..." They all had a moment of silence before Shadow stepped forward dragging forge with him.

"So this means that Percy is on our side in this war right?"

Chaos looked at her with a strained expression. "I don't know what side he's on at the moment. I think that once he reunited with Annabeth again she'll convince him of what to fight for."

"But would you say that he was on our side?" She pressed and Chaos sighed, thinking for a moment before nodding.

"Yes. Yes I think that, for now, he's on our side in this." Chaos said and the team seemed to be hiding something. "Wait. You haven't told the whole story yet. Tell me everything."

And so they did. From their time trying to get Alpha to relax to the meeting with the mortals and the plan to trap Percy in a giant cage.

Chaos was stupefied. To think things had gotten so much more complicated now in just a few weeks. Not only had they managed to make the mortals think that Percy was the bad guy in this, they didn't even let them know of the true threat in all of this. And all because Alpha was worried about her safety?!

She sighed and looked at the five standing before her.

"Alright since things have gotten so much worse than I thought here is what you should do." She then explained to them her plan to get Annabeth to safety and then locate Percy, whether he was already trapped or not did not matter anymore as there was more than likely nothing they could do about that now. For now she just wanted to guarantee that he didn't destroy the planet himself whilst also keeping the monsters and Order at bay.

Chaos separated them into two groups. Shadow, Forge, and Sundrop would focus on locating Annabeth. As much as she wanted to give that duty to Alpha since he knew her best he was currently out of commission and thus couldn't go. The remaining three would help keep Order's army at bay and also hopefully keep them contained to just a single city, if not that then just a single state in the chaos. Alpha would be joining them once he was awake and hopefully by then the other three had located Annabeth, convinced her they were there to help, and located Percy to reunite the pair and convince them both to help them.

And with that two separate portals and the two respective teams got to work.

Alright that's three within 24 hours(?)

Hopefully it's been only 24 hours...either way it's a new record for me.

I do hope you enjoyed this so far and I hope I am doing a good job with the sequence of events here; mostly the fight scenes.

May the light of creativity shine bright and strike---
