Chapter 34

It's been a little while but I need to finish this story...for personal reasons and I feel like all of your hungry eyes are burning holes into my computer.

P.S. I liked it when the publish button was Orange. It's now slightly harder to see no thanks to a certain color perception problem. -_-

---------------------------------------------

You know what the world needs?

Me

I've been through it all. I've seen it all.

I'e been everything.

And it isn't fun. The hardest thing about being everything is I've lost who I was.

I'm sure that somewhere deep...somewhere...I loved my wife far more than I do now, and for a different reason than I believe I do now...Which reason was that again?

I don't remember.

Oh, how nice. Another planet has 'decided' to join my cause after a while of resistance.

How long did it take to win that one over?
I can't seem to understand anything anymore.

Hm. Maybe it's about time I save this reality. Surely I'll remember everything once I take over the spacial fault...right?

---------------------------------------

"I thought you said you were improving the ship." Annabeth said looking around. The Sentient AI they'd allowed to take control of the ship had turned them in the direction of the nearest port and repair station while using the debris the found along the way to break down and improve the ship with it. "Not completely changing the design..."

Annabeth and Rocket looked at the hangar in awe, in only a few days the AI had rewired the entire ship and made sure to use as little space as efficiently as possible. It seemed to use an original organic metal compound that even Rocket wasn't able to determine exactly what it might be. In turns the wires were all a metallic chrome in a certain order of which was easy to remember and arrange, but the rest of the ship was taking on a sort of Gold and Black schematic.

Improving the ship required me to eliminate any irrelevant space and material as well as use the necessary amounts to vastly improve the performance and combat abilities of this craft. I have chosen a specific palate to not only blend in with our surroundings, but the gold lining also acts as an electromagnetic shield from debris and scanning capabilities of all kinds. Stella said, continuing, Not only does this craft perform better than any imperial fleet, it also looks...dope.

"Did you just--Whatever what can we do now and whats changed?" Annabeth said, adding "Are you finished with everything yet?"

I am not finished with everything, but I prioritized the wiring and thrust systems to improve travel and detection capabilities, and to go with that the pilot controls have vastly improved and changed. Only one person needs to fly the ship and the other can focus on the vastly improved defense arsenal in case of emergencies...or they can help as a co-pilot.

"You added weapons too?!" Annabeth went over to the controls to see that they didn't change much but there were quite a few more buttons and screens than there had been before. "When?"

After evaluating our motion and maneuverability I assessed the defense capabilities of this craft as very poor. Actually there was one set of old flares and that was all, so practically non-existent. So I added a high penetration railgun to the wings and several high-rate of fire energy blasters to the bow and stern. There is now an air-lock system in place as well as clamps and cables for holding things down in case of an emergency in the cargo-hold. Oh right. I also put several bombs on the lower hull to act as mines and an anti-detection system for the veins and engines. There are several other things but I assume that you want to go home soon?

"Yeah. I do is there a way we can--"

"Foreign ship detected! Cruiser Class (Customized) ship with designation Milano at 0196, 4918, -330 standard and closing. Engaging Cloaking Systems. "

"What did that series of numbers mean?" Annabeth asked Rocket as he moved the ship a certain amount held it there.

"Those were coordinates in a half light-year sector surrounding us. Most missiles have a range of about a quarter that so this is a pretty damn good detection system, not to mention we could just blast them from the zone with those railguns." Rocket said leaning back in his chair. "Sadly I know the driver so hopefully he doesn't decide to just shoot at everything he sees."

"Is he a rash person or something?" Annabeth asked and Rocket tilted his head and looked over at her, confused.

"What does that mean?"

"Does he do things without thinking of the consequences?"

"Oh yeah. Well sometimes he doesn't but that's only if his or our lives are on the line...oh and he's also really bad with women so be prepared." Rocket said and Annabeth frowned. This was a person that she was starting to think she'd regret meeting.

A few minutes later there was a decently big orange ship passing by right next to them and Annabeth raised an eyebrow at the supposed pilot. He was listening to those old style tape cassettes with earphones that were a strange green-blue color with orange heads...And he was dancing. Dancing very strangely.

Disengaging cloak Stella announced and the second they were in view once again the person that was dancing in the middle of the windowed area stopped and looked over at the watching trio. Then he tore out his ear buds and tossed the tape-player on a seat behind him and made a few motions with what looked like yelling. The ship turned around and came closer so that each of the ships were facing the other head on.

"Testing Testing. Rocket are you in there?" A male voice came over the intercom and Rocket hopped into the pilots seat and pressed a few buttons before holding the last one.

"Hey Peter. How's it going?" He said, looked at the ship for a second and pressed the button again. "Where's everyone else?"

"I kinda left them at the nearest world market." The man, Peter, said again, "Who's that with you?"

"Oh no one. I just picked her up along the way." Annabeth grabbed her knife, "Just kidding, sheesh, I kinda got captured by...someone, and she helped me break out."

"Did they follow you?" Peter asked, sounding like a genuine captain to Annabeth..

I did not detect any craft or viable life form during my assimilation process Stella interjected and Rocket tilted his head.
"No."

"You know Gamora is going to kill you when you get back right?" Rocket said and there was no answer from the other ship for a few seconds. "Quill."

"Huh? Oh yeah, she's definitely going to cut off my balls." He said, "And that's why you will be out meeting them first and I will be staying in my ship until she's cooled down."

"Who's Gamora?" Annabeth asked and Rocket leaned over slightly and let go of the button.

"His assassin girlfriend." Annabeth's mouth fell open in shock. That guy managed to get..."Yeah I know it's hard to believe, but believe me when I say this shes the only one that's on-top in their relationship." Rocket smirked and pressed the button again. "Hey do you know what happened to Groot, I don't remember what happened but I lost him sometime before getting captured?"

"Oh yeah, he's with the others. We found him wandering around trying to find someone but none of us can understand him...well Gamora is getting close, but we only understood once you didn't return to the ship." Peter said and Rocket nodded seemingly thankfully.

"I'm glad he's safe." Annabeth caught him saying under his breath but he didn't give her the chance to ask, "How about we follow you back to where you were and meet up with everyone then."

"Sending the coordinated now. See you there." Peter said and there was a ding on the console as the other ship started turning around.

"Hey is there a way you can get us there before him?" Rocket asked the roof and Annabeth looked at him confused.

Even heavily armored this craft is many times faster than any other with the modifications I've made to it. Stella replied and Rocket looked at Annabeth.

"You might want to get in a seat and use your seat-belt." He said and she did so.

"Is there a reason you want to get there faster than the other guy?" She asked and Rocket laughed shaking his head.

"Ha! No. I just can't wait to see the look on his face when he realizes that his precious ship isn't the fastest thing in this galaxy anymore." Rocket fully grinned and suddenly the world around Annabeth became increasingly pressurized and colorful.

It only lasted for a few seconds but Annabeth's head was left spinning afterwards but Rocket just started humming while the giant moon in front of them got closer and closer. Her head finally cleared up after they had crossed the threshold of the planet-turned market and Rocket glanced over at her.

"That was pretty good for your first time in Hyper jump." He said and Annabeth looked at him incredulously.

"What's the worst that could've happened then?" She asked and Rocket just shrugged.

"You could've been on the floor puking your guts out for the next five minutes." He offered and Annabeth lent back in her chair with a sigh.

"I shouldn't have asked..." She took the moment of silence to study the place Rocket was expertly maneuvering around. It seemed like a Syfy movie moon base but there were rusty ships and people flying around with a seemingly organized chaos to it. "So how do you know where to land in all of this?" She asked looking around in awe as Rocket just pushed his way through rows of ships and people.

"I've been doing this for longer than Quill was able to even operate a plasma screwdriver so it's not that hard to look for where to go in this mess. Especially since I'm really only looking for three people and a dock."

"And you can tell that how?" Annabeth asked and he just shrugged.

"You'll know when you see it." He said and she just hummed with confusion and continued to look around as Rocket made his way through the area. A few minutes passed and Annabeth saw what looked to be a green lady pacing on a dock, a tree person about the size of a teenager, and a blue man with something shining in his hands.

"Is that them?" Annabeth asked looking at an already smirking Rocket as he prepared to land. Luckily for them there were two landing stations there with a platform forking off to a main railed walkway.

"Yep." He said as they touched down and hopping out of his seat. "Oh this is going to be fun."

"How so?" Annabeth inquired but was left unanswered as he opened the bay doors smiling.

Once fully lowered the tree person ran up to him and Rocket jumped to meet it halfway. Not soon after a second ship came by to land at the connecting platform but Annabeth was distracted by the strangely beautiful lady with green skin. She looked at Annabeth curiously and walked up to the three confidently.

"Good to see you again Rocket. Who's the new addition?" She said and Rocket smirked. Annabeth knew that smirk and glared in his direction fiercely but the talking rodent still got out the sentence.

"Oh her, she and Peter met a little while ago and got it on." Rocket had barely finished before Annabeth found herself blocking a rather long, sharp stick that came out of no-where.

It's been a little while but I finally got another one out...balancing a full time job and having the time to write still eludes me on a sense of balance between either but hopefully I'll find a way to deal with it.

Recently i got a few things all sorted out and I have finally been able to start saving money without having to worry about...most things. And I also did something else recently that I am hoping will have a huge pay off in the future for both a goal I've been aiming to meet and a personal dream I've had for a while.

It's probably why I am in such a good mood to write.

Anyways I watched the first film of the 'Guardians of The Galaxy' again and realized that I had completely forgotten not just how Rocket acted around others but also the entire plot of the movie which actually is quite important here...

Anyways I hope you enjoyed and I'll be back with another one soon...hopefully.
