Chapter 18
The rest of the day went by without any hitches or interruptions: we finished the dishes, Mr. Chase went to look at movies we could watch, I know because he told us as such, and once the movies for the night were chosen there was a healthy amount of laughs and some interesting moments: mainly Annabeth dissing the structural works of some structures, or either of us complaining about what something looked like or if it was done the right way or not, and then we got into an argument about shrimp being called bugs and bees being called fish.

When it was time for bed, just for the sake of respect in her fathers house, I took the floor and she took the bed. I could tell that she was awake the entire night though, mostly because I was awake the entire night and I imagined that we were both anxious about her becoming the kind of werewolf I was. A Stronger, faster, harder to kill version of the old curse that Zeus made before. I was also thinking about that Scarlet Witch-like lady I had encountered on the Empire State Building that one day; who was she and why was I wanted by them?
Eventually the light of morning illuminated the room once more and I wasn't surprised to see Annabeth sitting on the edge of her bed watching me. I raised a brow at her and she scowled at me.
"So where do you want to go to today?" I asked and that distracted her enough to get over whatever bad mood or thoughts she had.
"I was thinking we could go to Florida today, maybe check out the park a little, then we could go over to the St. Louis arch and see how the rebuilding is going, and then we could—" I smiled and looked out the window as I listened to the ideas for the day, or the rest of the week came flooding through her brain.
"—then we could go to the Coat contest their having in Louisiana and with your Wolf form well win for sure..." I looked over at her slowly.
"What was that last one?" I growled and she smiled sheepishly, shooting closer to the door from the edge of her bed. "Did you want to bring me to a dog show?"
"Y-yes?" She breathed and we both lunged for our target. I lunged for her as she lunged for the door, but seeing that she might get out the door first I changed targets and blocked it off with Red Silver bars, on both sides just to be sure.
"I wasn't. You, um..." she moved over to the corner of the room looking for something and I raised her dagger teasingly.
"You know that this wouldn't have..." I was interrupted by an aluminum pan slamming into my face at a very high speed. The soft metal imprinted to my face and I pried it off with a growl, this wasn't just me teasing her anymore. She was going to pay for that.

"Are you two okay in there?" Annabeth's father stopped the duo from doing whatever it was they were doing, and Percy looked towards the door with a grin. The metal bars faded and the door opened just enough for only his form to be seen by Mr. Chase.
"Yeah everything's fine. What's up?" Percy asked and Mr. Chase raised a brow but didn't move to look around the door.
"Breakfast is ready. I didn't know if you two heard me or not so I came over to tell you myself. It seems that you may already know about that though don't you?" He asked and Percy nodded pointing to his nose with a clawed finger.
"Yeah I figured you were close to done by now. It smells amazing by the way—" Percy looked behind him to see what Annabeth was doing. She was still knocked out on the bed with bite marks and a very flushed face. "—We'll be down in a second."
"Okay...I'm glad to see that my daughter has found such an amazing man." Mr. Chase smiled, Percy grinned and thanked him.
"I will never leave or hurt your daughter purposefully. You have my word." He said and while it wasn't an oath to the Styx it was still an Oath of its own and Mr. Chase smiled gratefully at that and left. With that Percy closed the door and turned back to Annabeth.
He went over to the bed and smiled just watching her for a moment before snapping his fingers to change his clothes, her clothes, and fixing the bedroom back to its former state. Her dagger was left on the nightstand near Annabeth's face-pillow. Then Percy headed out and closed the door behind him to head downstairs and eat.
It wasn't ten minutes later that Annabeth joined them at the table purposefully avoiding her father's and Percy's gazes. The two watched her with different expressions: Percy with amusement and the same wolffish grin he had on his face from before and the possessive gleam to his eye Mr. Chase took notice of. Her father was wondering what the two did in that room to make his daughter so flustered that she couldn't even look at him, but he hadn't heard anything and it didn't seem like Percy was the kind of person to knock up his daughter in her own father's house.
"So what happened?" He finally asked and Percy opened his mouth to speak but Annabeth was on him with a dagger to the throat before he could utter a word.
If you speak one word about what happened up there I will behead you twice and then de-limb you before I give you even an ounce of forgiveness. She spoke dangerously and a challenging rumble vibrated her body.
Oh but you had such a good time— Percy grinned as the dagger was pressed harder against him an ounce of pressure away from drawing willing blood.
You will not say a word she said and Percy just hummed amusedly but agreed to her terms.
Okay. I will not breath a word of this... he said and she seemed satisfied for the moment ...Yet.
This has her practically leaping over the table to skin Percy alive but he just danced out of range, and there was also the annoying fact that her weapon just passed through Percy unless he wanted to be touched by the metal. Though they were careful not to damage anything in the house and their dancing game soon turned into a wrestling match.
Mr. Chase watched the deadly bout with caution at first and when he saw it turn into more of a playful thing than a dangerous situation. A smile found its way to his face and he watched the two in silence, enjoying their unique display of affection. Eventually they both stopped and came back to sit at the table. Annabeth and Percy both giving out happy auras and Percy started wolfing down his food.
"I'm sorry dad, I'm gonna need to retrain him how to act around people." Annabeth said and Percy paused, tilting his head to the side in thought, causing Annabeth's anger to fade away completely and Percy also apologized. Mr. Chase chuckled a little and looked at the two with the happiest expression Annabeth's seen on him in a long time.
"I suppose I should be a little angry at you two for fighting in the house but I can't help but find it entertaining and rather cute" he said. Percy raised a brow and Annabeth looked off to the side embarrassed. "You two fighting reminds me of the bouts me and your mother used to have and the good old times when she was around constantly."
"What was mom like back then?" Annabeth asked and immediately regretted it as Mr. Chase's smile turned slightly gloomier. He stood up and went over to a desk with a few picture frames on it, one with a familiar looking woman and him standing shoulder-to-shoulder with large smiles and the St. Luise's Arch behind them.
"Her and I loved doing things together, from the moment I met her I knew that I would no longer look at another woman and she shared my love for History and Archeology." Mr. Chase held up another picture, a digging site where a large skeleton was being unearthed. "We did things I would've have imagined possible before, and we shared moments that I would've give anything in the world to experience again."
"After a time she told me about who she actually was, and like a stupid mortal I didn't believe her. We went our separate ways with a broken friendship." He went over to Annabeth and cupped her face with his hands. "Then she came down with you in her arms. I was just getting home after graduating and the day was going amazingly well, so when she came down from the heavens riding the wind with a golden cradle and a baby in her arms...I didn't know how to react."
"She told me again who she was and that if she could've she would've married me and broken her oath, but since she was a goddess and was bound to the ancient laws she couldn't be with a mortal, so instead her thoughts made you, to remind me of who she was and who you could grow to be." Mr. Chase went back over to the couch and sat down on it to lean back and look at the ceiling.
"I apologized for my behavior and we spent the next week together figuring out how I was going to care for you before she left again for good that time. And from then on you grew to become the amazing woman you are today, and I am a better man thanks to it." His smile warmed Annabeth's heart, but there was still that small bit of sadness behind it all.
Annabeth went over and hugged her father tightly. "You know that even though I may be changing on the outside I am still the same person; your daughter. That is something that will never change dad." Mr. Chase put an arm around the back of her head and nodded.
"I know."
Okay so...I apologize for not updating as often as you'd probably like me to, but I am in college again!! It's strange that I can find the time to write when I'm in college and working part time than if I was working a full time job that started around midday. Even if I wake up early just to try.
Also I did want to get an opinion about a picture that I took of a persons Furry art because I'm conflicted about it, but you can go and check out my Generation Fur book for that 😝
Actually I think that I'll post it here too just so that you can answer and don't have to.

Sure judge me all you want, but I still want to tell me what you think of this...think of it as a social experiment rather than anything else you might think.
