Chapter 2
So I've been happy that this book has 21 reads, but there're are no comments. Please can't somebody comment on something? I love comments!
Kaden paced the length of his cell, Ratchet hadn't returned for hours and the screams had faded.
He stopped as the doors leading to the cells opened, and growling filled the air, worrying Kaden before he had even seen who it was, and was horrified when he did. As three guards passed by Kaden a third time, they struggled with his son. He had many more deep cuts and bruises lining his body. Green, slitted, sorrowful eyes met dilated worry filled eyes the same shade. Whatever Nefarious had done to him, it did it's damage and was enough to force him to snap. He noted the flash of metal every time Ratchet tried to take a swipe at his restrainers. They left his field of vision as they threw Rowan into his cell, only two leaving the cell chamber with mass amounts of slashes covering them. The third had apparently meet his fate with the snapped young lombax.
Kaden spoke to his son, hoping he could get to him without being in the same room facing each other, he has seen that work with a few different lombaxes. But he heard no signs of Ratchet remotely registering that someone was speaking to him. He began to worry, and called out, "Is Max Apogee here by any chance?!"
A voice, probably a few cells down, confirmed, "Yes."
"This is Kaden. Where are you?"
"Across from Cell Number 10," replied Max. "Where are you?"
"Across from Cell Number 4," answered Kaden. The cells were arranged so that the evens are on one side while the odds are on the other.
Another loud growl emitted from Ratchet's cell. Max asked what it was and sounded just as shocked as Kaden was when he found out what happened to Ratchet. Suddenly, shouts and a familiar sound of a certain type of electricity being released from a certain omniwrench rang through the air, giving the golden lombax(with chin stripes) and the Markazian hope.
The cell chamber doors opened and a voice rang through the air, "Kaden?"
"Alister!" Kaden replied.
"Kaden!" Alister sounded relieved. "Which cell are you in?"
"I'm across Cell 4," answered Kaden. An off-white lombax with red stripes was at the controls for his laser wall, which deactivated shortly. "Go get Max, he's across from Cell 10," ordered Kaden. "There's someone else I need to rescue."
As Alister ran off to get said Markazian out of his cell, Kaden deactivated the laser wall to Ratchet's cell and cautiously crept inside.
The growling continued as Kaden lifted his handed toward the young lombax. "Easy, Ratchet," he spoke softly, hoping the gentle words can heal the snap just enough to get him to the light. "I'm not here to hurt you."
Kaden noticed a set of claws forced onto the tips of his son's gloved fingers as he limped into the light. His slitted eyes dilated just a little bit more as he growled one sentence. A question that filled the asker's eyes with tears.
"Is Clank really gone?"
