Let Me Through

Yoongi's POV-

I got extremely nervous when I saw the two guards outside the door, then even more so when they wouldn't let us go in or tell us who was inside.

They told Hi when she asked why they were posted at the door that they were not to let anyone in to interrupt. She then tried to tell them we were clear to see Kook, but they were adamant that they weren't to let anyone in.

She started asking them who had given the order and they told her they were not at liberty to say, which did not sit well with her.

She asked them to call General Kang or General Kim and they will tell them that we were authorized to see Kook, but they still refused.

She and I both started to get a little heated at their refusal to let us in and lack of answers as to why we couldn't, but before it escalated any further Yeol stepped in.

He used his superb people skills to talk them into knocking on the door themselves to get permission to let us in from Kook or Taehyung directly.

They were still apprehensive, but it didn't take long for him to charm them into knowing we weren't a threat and would be on our way if they didn't want to see us.

Shortly after that, one of the men turned around and knocked on the door.

I was hoping that Kook would answer so I could at least see him and ask how he was doing before talking to Tae as planned, but when a man answered, it was extremely unexpected.

"I'm General Kim, Jungkook's Grandfather. Yoongi and Chanyeol, correct?"

My jaw hit the floor with how caught off guard I was to see him.

Hearing his cheerful voice and seeing the way his eyes lit up, he was not at all what I had expected.

He wasn't a button up Army General like I had expected he would be. Unless this moment was out of character for him, he seemed kind.

Yeol collects himself faster than I do and immediately bows to the man in front of us, tugging the hem of my shirt gently for me to break out of my shocked daze and do the same.

I quickly close my mouth and bow at the same depth as Yeol before we stand up straight. The man bows to us as well before he outstretches his hand out to me for a handshake, which I give, before doing the same with Yeol.

"It's so nice to finally meet the two of you." He smiles. "I will let Jungkook know you are here. Just a moment."

With that he steps back into the room, shutting the door softly behind him. After the door is closed I turn to Yeol with raised brows.

"He knew who we were."

"Yoongs, we really shouldn't be surprised by anything anymore. Everyone seems to know everything about everything and everyone here."

"It still catches me off guard." I mumble to myself.

He opens his mouth to say something else but is stopped when we hear someone calling his name from our left.

We look in the direction of the voice and see Mrs Jeon coming towards us with a soldier not far behind her.

The soldier is wearing an anxious expression as he walks quickly behind Mrs Jeon, trying to keep up with her fast steps.

"Oh for fuck's sake." I growl through gritted teeth.

Yeol places a hand on my shoulder in attempt to calm me down, or keep me where I'm stood so I don't go stop her myself, while Hi begins to take a few steps in Mrs Jeon's direction

To our surprise, just as she takes a step towards Mrs Jeon the two soldiers who were watching the door do the same.

They move faster than Hi does, quickly walking towards the two while calling out for them to stop where they are, as Hi follows behind them.

"We can't let you any closer." We hear one of the men say when they are stood in front of Mrs Jeon and the soldier.

"What do you mean you can't? I'm here to see Jungkook. I'm his mother." She says, glaring up at the soldiers before she side steps to walk around them.

"Our orders were to not let anyone through." One of the soldiers says as he steps in her direction, cutting off the opening to the left of him the she was going to try to walk through.

"Orders from who?!" She begins to yell. "And I'm not just anyone. I'm the daughter of your General. Show me some goddamn respect and let me through!"

She starts to try to push her way around the men again but Hi walks around one of the soldiers, gently resting her hand on Mrs Jeon's arm.

She leans closer to her ear, saying something too quietly for us to hear, but whatever it was makes Mrs Jeon even more irate because she tears her arm away from Hi's grip and begins to yell at her too.

"I don't know what everyone's problem is! I want to see my son!" She yells at Hi before turning back to the soldiers. "Who ordered you to keep me from my son?! Let me through!"

"They are following my orders." I hear a deep voice say sternly.

I look back towards the door of Kook's room to see General Kim stepping out into the hallway with a very serious look on his face.

Gone is any trace of the warmth his expression held minutes ago. He now looks cold and not happy at all to see Mrs Jeon.

Yeol and I step aside so he can walk past us when he turns to look at us.

"You two can head inside. I'll take my daughter to my office." He says in a softer, apologetic sounding voice.

I nod before hurrying around him towards the door with Yeol close behind. I open the door and step inside, immediately seeing Taehyung and Kook sat on the bed directly across from me.

He has one arm around Taehyung, who has his head against Kook's shoulder. Kook flashes me a halfhearted smile when our eyes meet.

I begin to walk quickly to the two and just before Yeol closes the door we hear Mrs Jeon yell out again.

"You can't do this! You can't keep me from them!"

I rush to Kook and Taehyung, dropping to my knees in front of them to wrap one arm around Kook and the other around Taehyung. I place a soft kiss on Kook's shoulder as he wraps his free arm around my waste.

"Hi Yooni." I hear him say quietly before he kisses my head.

"Hi love." I say as I burry my face into the crook of his neck, staying for a few seconds too long before I pull away.

I look over his face closely as he smiles softly, this smile looking a little more genuinely happy than his previous one, before I turn my head to look at Taehyung.

He isn't looking at me, instead staring straight ahead towards the door with the same blank mask he has been wearing. He may not be crying now but I do see that his cheeks are damp.

"Taehyung?" I say softly, drawing his attention to me as I pull my arms away from them both.

When he looks at me his mask starts to slip and I see his eyes slowly start to get teary as his bottom lip pouts out.

"She came to see Koo." He says quietly.

I nod as I answer, "She did, but General Kim is taking her to his office."

"Did you come to take see him too?"

"Actually, we came to see you." I say, reaching up to wipe some of the remaining tears from his cheeks.

"One of Hyuk's people found the phone. They want to give it to the police but we told them to wait until we talk to you." I hear Yeol say before he kneels down beside me, directly in front of Taehyung. "You asked before if they had found it. Do we need it before we give it to the police?"

He lifts his head from where it was rested against Kook's shoulder, "Give it to Hyuk and he can go through it, then it needs to go to his wife."

"To his wife?" Yeol asks.

"H-he didn't explain much about it." He says before taking a deep, shaky breath and raising his head off of Kook's shoulder. "He said a lot of things to me when I was with him, but not all of it made sense.

"Bits and pieces did, like when he told me about his family or asked me to stay, but he couldn't really speak because-" He stops as a tear falls onto his cheek before taking a breath and continuing.

"Because of the blood. I'm certain I heard him talk about his phone though. That it had messages for his wife. So she wasn't confused. I don't know what that meant, or if I even heard him right, but I think that's what he said. I know for sure he said the password to get into the phone and the laptop were the same though."

"Okay." I say as I reach up and place my hand on his that is rested on Kook's knee. "We'll make sure Hyuk knows that once he is done with it, it needs to go to his wife."

He nods as he looks back at me with a small smile. "Thank you."

When knocking is heard at the door we all stop and turn towards it. Yeol stands up and walks to it, opening it just enough to see who it is before opening it fully.

There is a soldier outside and next to him stands Hi.

She comes in quickly, stopping just inside the door while Yeol closes it. She looks at the three of us by the bed before looking up at Yeol.

"We need to get started on the audio files. We were able to get the okay from the District Attorney for more time, but he is really hoping we can get things to him by tomorrow afternoon at the latest."

"Do you think this is doable with three of us? Or are there people here you or Hyuk can get to help?"

I turn to them and stand up, confused with his question. "There's four of us. You, Hi, Hyuk and myself. Well, five if General Kim was able to calm her down."

"Yoongs... I think you need a break."

I scowl at his words, ready to protest but he stops me.

"You haven't had hardly any sleep. Plus you aren't much use with a computer anyway."

"My computer skills are irrelevant. You're not coding or hacking, you're listening to recordings. I do that for a living, Yeol. I'll be fine."

"Yoongs." He sighs before he begins to walk towards me. Once he is stood in front of me he leans closer to me and says quietly enough so only I can hear. "You have too much on your mind and we can't risk missing anything."

I open my mouth to protest again but he continues.

"Just, get some rest. Please? You're spiraling Yoongs. You're blaming yourself for all of this and I think the best place for you right now is to be with these two."

My eyes have begun to tear up as the feelings of guilt creep back in. Now, not only the guilt of indirectly causing all of this mess, but knowing Yeol is right. I'm not going to be able to focus properly. My mind is going to wander and that's a liability.

"I hate that you're always right." I pout.

"I know you want to help and you'll be able to. You know as well as I do how much work this is going to take. Just try to get some sleep and then we can bring you in to help later." He says before backing away to look at me.

I nod with pouted lips as I look up at him. "Okay. But as soon as I feel like I'm fine to help I'll be there."

He smiles before patting me on the shoulder. "And I won't stop you."

With a sigh I turn back around so I'm facing Kook and Taehyung, lips still pouted out as I look at the floor and ask, "Is it okay if I stay here with you?"

I feel kind of embarrassed to be asking this, and I know Taehyung would probably rather be with Kook alone, but I'd like to stay if I'm being honest. I'd like to be here with them. The three of us can all wallow in the sadness of our fucked up lives together.

After a second or two of silence, Taehyung breaks it.

"You look like a child asking someone to be their friend." He says with a breathy chuckle.

I look up quickly, surprised to hear him letting out anything remotely close to an amused laugh.

"Jungkook," Hi says from behind me unexpectedly. We all turn to where she is still stood by the door as she says, "Would I be able to talk to you outside?"

I turn back to Kook to see that he has his brows furrowed as he stares at her, confused by her request.

"Okay..." He says before he turns to Taehyung, silently asking if he will be alright. Taehyung gives a small nod before looking up at me.

"You look like hell. Stay and get some sleep." He says very matter of factly, and I swear I see the corner of his lip twitch like he's holding back an amused smile.

"You should stay, Yooni. I'll be back in just a minute."  He says before giving me a kiss on my cheek and walking towards the door.

"Right," Yeol says as he turns to Hi. "Let's get going then."

Hi nods and opens the door before stepping out into the hall, Kook following close behind her.

"I'll see you later Yoongs. Much much later, right?" Yeol says pointedly as he walks backwards towards the door.

I roll my eyes before nodding. "Right."

"Good." He chuckles before he turns away from me and leaves as well.

After the door shuts and it's just Taehyung and I, he pivots on the bed before crawling over to the far side, turning off the lamp on the side table and getting under the blankets.

It all happens so fast that I'm still stood by the bed by the time he starts to fluff and adjust the pillows behind him.

"Oh, before you get in the bed can you get the backpack on the floor over there?" He says, pointing towards where Kook's suitcase is.

As I begin walking over to where he has pointed the door opens and Kook peaks his head inside.

"They need me to- They want me to help them with something." He says, looking at me before he looks at Taehyung. "Will you two be okay?"

I look between the two, waiting to hear what Taehyung has to say.

"Yeah, it's fine. We'll probably just get some sleep." Taehyung smiles at Kook before looking back at me. "Is that okay with you?"

"Y-yeah. Of course." I nod before looking at Kook. "We'll be okay."

"Okay. I'll try to be back as soon as I can." He says before closing the door, leaving us alone again.

I turn back towards the bags, crouching down to get the backpack but I notice that a towel has been looped through one of the straps.

I pick up the towel to move it and as I lift it up the smell of Kook's shampoo hits my nose. I reflexively lift the towel to my nose, getting lost in the familiar scent when I hear Taehyung speak from the bed.

"You can shower if you want. It will probably make you feel better. Help you relax a bit."

I drop the towel and stand up straight, embarrassed to have been caught smelling my boyfriends towel.

"I didn't- I wasn't- I don't even have any clothes to change into." I ramble. "We didn't get to pack anything."

Taehyung throws the blanket off as he gets up from the bed. He rounds the foot, walking past me before he goes into the bathroom.

He comes out a short while later with a cloth bag and sets it in the bed before undoing the drawstrings and digging through it.

"These are clean clothes, and when you are changed out of the clothes you are wearing we can add them to the clothes Koo and I need to have washed." He says as he pulls out a pair of sweats I recognize as Kook's as well as a pair of black underwear, handing each to me. He then closes the bag before placing it on the floor.

I watch as he walks by me, bends down and starts going through the suitcase. He digs through it for a while and I can see him moving perfectly good t-shirts out of his way, but I don't say anything.

I hear him let out a giggle as he seems to have found what he's looking for, lifting out a black t-shirt before handing it to me with an mischievous looking smile.

I take the shirt with furrowed brows, wondering why he is looking at me the way he is before he smiles widely and stands up.

"I gave that to Koo, but I think it will look better on you."

I look down at the folded t-shirt in my hands again before I bring my eyes back up to his.

He has the same smile on his face as he nods towards the shirt, signaling me to look at it. I turn around to set the pants and underwear on the bed before turning back towards him and unfolding the shirt.

When I see my expression breaks into a smile and the longer I look at it the wider my smile gets. When I hear Taehyung start to laugh that's when I really can't help but break into hysterics.

"You got this for him?" I say, still staring at the shirt.

"Of course I did! You can't be a bigger fanboy than dating the artist you're a fan of. And if he's going to be a fanboy he needs to dress the part." He grins.

I turn the shirt around so the graphics are facing him as I continue to smile. "Where did you even get this? I haven't performed anywhere that would sell these in years."

"I'll tell you, but promise you won't judge me. I've already told you I'm not a saesang and I think I've proved that."

"I agree." I laugh. "Definitely not a saesang."

"I have at least a dozen Agust D shirts. So I figured I could spare one."

My laughing subsides slightly but I keep my smile in place. "Thank you for finding me clothes Taehyung. And thank you for teaching Kook to be my number one fan."

"Oh no, I said he was a fanboy. I will always hold the number one fan title. He'll never be as big a fan as I am." He laughs again.

It's quiet as we stare at each other while our laughing dies down gradually.

I observe his expression closely before saying, "It's so good to see you smiling, Taehyung."

He smiles back as he says, "You're not as bad a comforter as you think you are. It's very unexpected, and I thought it was maybe just a fluke thing the last time you stayed with me, but you seem to lift my mood even more than Koo does."

He purses his lips thoughtfully. "He makes me feel safe and cared for, but somehow you help me to forget. Forget that I'm scarred and hurt and... and fucked up beyond repair. Thank you for that. Sincerely."

"Maybe you're just easy to comfort." I say in a quieter voice.

He shakes his head. "No, I'm not. Koo is the only one that has ever been able to do that for me. Not even Jimin can make me feel better most of the time, but somehow you've done that."

It's quiet as we both stare intently at each other. It's not an uncomfortable quiet in the least. And there's no tension like there has been over the last however many months.

The tension that seems to inevitably fill a room if we are both in it because of how shitty I've been to him.

Just, comfortable... until he begins to lean slowly towards me with a crooked smile I can't decipher.

My eyes don't leave his as I watch him get closer to me. My mind is telling me to lean away or take a step to the side or something, anything, but I can't move.

Instead I'm holding my breath, not knowing what to do and wondering why I can't move my fucking legs.

I continue with bated breath when he suddenly pulls away which allows me to relieve the pressure in my lungs as I exhale out quietly, glancing down to where he's holding the clothes I had set on the bed behind me between us for me to take.

"Go shower. It'll help you feel better." He says with the same smile that I don't know how to interpret.

Is he teasing me? Taunting me? What is this.

"Good idea..." I say, wrapping my hand around the bundle of clothes.

"Take your time." He says before taking a step back. "Koo has soap and shampoo in there and there are towels on the rack and wash clothes in the cupboard below the sink."

I gulp. "Yes, thank you. And thank you again for the clothes."

"No problem, Hyung." He smiles one last time before leaning down to pick up the backpack he had sent me to get before taking it back to the bed with him.

As soon as he is no longer in front of me I rush to the bathroom and shut the door behind me, leaving my back against it.

I shake my head a few times, before stepping towards the countertop to set the clothes down by the sink.

I glance at myself in the mirror, immediately agreeing with Taehyung's comment earlier about me looking like hell, before turning away from the counter to turn on the water for it to start heating up.

Once I've undressed I pull the curtain aside, step under the water and let out a drawn out sigh when it makes contact with my skin.

I reach for Koo's shampoo and begin to wash my hair when a realization hits me. I hadn't noticed at the time, and he's never said it before, but I'm pretty sure he said it just now.

He called me Hyung.
