Taehyung's POV-

"As we walked together through her apartment I gushed about how beautiful the place was and asked where certain pieces of furniture or art were found and with every question she became so excited to get to share the story with each. She seemed genuinely thrilled to get to talk about it. It was an easy diversion away from talking about Koo and Mrs Jeon.

"If this were my first encounter with her, and I didn't know how she actually was, I would have thought she was exactly like she portrays herself to the media. The only difference was that her smiles and laughs seemed real instead of a front she's put on.

"I thought the Joohyun angle would work, but I didn't think it would work as well as it did. I've learned a lot about Irene over the last six or so months, one of them being that she was not a very confident girl growing up.

"When people would hear of her dream to sing and her wanting to become an idol they would laugh in her face and tell her she'd never make it. Especially with her awkwardness and certain features of hers they thought were irregular, one of them being her ears. They didn't and don't even stick out very much.

"She was building up to asking about the military and to be honest, I didn't know exactly how I was going to navigate those questions. I think I would have managed okay, but I was concerned that I might let something slip that Hyuk would pick up on from where he stood listening outside the room. I needed to distract her, I just didn't think it would work that well.

"When we made our way back to the entryway I thanked her abundantly for the tour and compliment her again on how beautiful it all was. She recommended to me some websites and decorators and designers I could contact and then I was on my way.

"The whole time she wore a big giddy grin and I think even a Hyuk was surprised in her complete one-eighty from how she was when I got there. It was rather impressive if I do say so myself."

I wait to hear the words of praise I deserve, but they are all sat just staring at me not saying a word, as usual. I should've known.

"You know, it's getting quite offensive that none of you seem to have any faith in me." I fold my arms as I glare at each of them.

It's still quiet so I roll my eyes and am about to stand up to go check on Koo and Baekhyun when I finally hear someone say something.

"That was the whole visit? Nothing else happened? She didn't do anything to you?" Hoseok asks with wide eyes.

"Yes that was all and no, she didn't and neither did he." I fold my arms back over my chest.

"You basically insulted her and mocked her questions... and she took you on a tour of her apartment?" Yoongi says while looking at the ground in deep thought before moving his eyes to me. "And Hyuk was there, but didn't do anything to you when you showed up out of nowhere. They didn't even tell you to leave?"

"Think about it. Did she not use the element of surprise to try to get Koo to tell her who he was when she dropped in that day?"

"I mean, yeah I guess." Chanyeol nods. "We were surprised. That's for sure."

"What I did was no different. I think it actually made her like me." I shrug.

"Everyone likes you Tae. That's incredibly obvious. It's just astounding to us the contrast between how she approached Chan, a friend, and how she was with you." Hoseok says.

"It might have had something to do with me and Seulgi being together, but who knows." I shrug.

"We thought you were basically walking into a cage fight but instead you got a house tour." Yoongi says, surprise and disbelief apparent in his voice.

I nod my head in understanding at Yoongi's words. I guess that can somewhat justify their degree of surprise if that's the case.

They assumed the same guards that hurt him would be at her place and attack on sight, but I wasn't really worried about that.

I've observed what security she frequently has stay with her and she's very selective. There are only three individuals that she rotates through. Hyuk is not one of them though, which is why I was so surprised to see him.

One of the first things Mrs Jeon did when she got the photo of Hyuk was send it to me to ask if I'd seen him at the building because she knew about the unit I had purchased. Today was the first time I'd ever seen him there.

"From what you've said, it seems like she may not care about what the letter said and plans to still find answers about Jungkook." Chanyeol says.

"That's what I gathered as well. I think she more so just wants to know how he bested her. If she is going to keep trying to dig I doubt she'll be using much technology to do so, that method is too easily tracked.

"And paper documents are going to be nearly impossible to get ahold of. I'm sure she knows that, which I think is why she came to you again and wanted to talk to me.

"At this point I have very little to go off of, but information on Koo still seems to be what she wants."

I scowl as I recall what she said about his accident. "She did bring up his accident. That pissed me off and she could tell. She also asked if he and I really weren't as close anymore and who he'd been staying with.

"I gave her half true answers and that seemed to satisfy her because she didn't go much further than that." I say to Chanyeol before turning my attention to Yoongi.

"How is Koo? You said earlier that you accidentally said her name when you were telling him what happened to Chanyeol. He didn't react or ask about her?"

He lets out a heavy sigh. "Not initially, but when we were on our way here he asked me who 'Shereen' was that I mentioned earlier. I didn't correct the name as I was worried it might spark a memory.

"I just said she was an ex girlfriend that is trying to get revenge on me by hurting my friends. That was probably still too close to the truth but I couldn't lie to him. Not after I had already told him she was the one that hurt Yeol."

Chanyeol holds his side as he coughs a few times before saying, "He eventually is going to remember her and we are going to need to be prepared for that. I think once he remembers who she is it's going to trigger the memories of what happened that week and what she did to build up to trying to have him killed."

"Once he remembers all of that I don't know what will happen. He asked about his cellphone today and I got one ordered that will be waiting for us when we get back tonight but he didn't remember why he didn't have one, just that it broke." Yoongi grumbles.

Chim scoffs. "Wait till he finds out you shattered it against the wall when you got ahold of it and read some of the awful things people were sending him. The odd mix of death threats, insults and dick pics."

Yoongi glares at him before e turns back to eye the rest of us in the room. "To get back on topic, I agree with Yeol. We need to be prepared for him to remember her because it is very likely that the flood gates will open when he does."

He pauses before he lets out a shaky breath and adds, "I don't know if we will be able to slow the memories from rushing at him all at once."

"Do you think that means he'll remember his talk with Joonie too? That he'll remember us?" Jin speaks up from his chair near Chanyeol's bed.

"It's possible. Just be ready. We will all have a lot of explaining to do and questions to answer. All of the new information could potentially put him in a lot of pain. We need to stress delicacy when the time comes." Yoongi says as he looks down at his watch.

I glance down at mine as well before moving my eyes to Chim. "What time did he fall asleep?"

Chim reaches over for Hoseok's phone that he's been spinning between his fingers to look at the time. "It was a while before you got here. Yoongi can probably wake him up anytime and head home."

"Okay well, any other questions that need to be discussed before he wakes up?" I say as I glance around the room.

Chim clears his throat as he sits up a little straighter in his seat and looks at me.

"I do actually." He says as he sits up a little straighter in his seat and looks at me. "From what you said about Irene and the way your visit turned out, I picked up on some things you repeated that she said and how you described how she interacted with you during your little tour.

"Now, it might sound far fetched, and I know I wasn't there to see it myself, but you should be careful with her. You have a flirtatious disposition and that along with your personality and looks causes people to fall for you easily.

"I don't think she would just simply fall for you though. She's obsessive about everything, Tae. She is obsessed with controlling Yoongi, obsessed with finding information about Jungkookie and I'm worried she'll be obsessed with you too."

I pout my lips slightly in thought.

An obsession. Interesting.
